REVIEWS OF Three Stones IN Vermont

Linda Tirrell

One of the best Mexican culinary experiences we have had. We love Mexican and try as many different Mexican establishments as we can. Three stones however, was very different as it is authentic Mayan Mexican and not at all what you would experience in a typical Mexican restaurant. The service was very good, the food authentic and spectacular, the presentations were beautiful, the dishes plentiful. The venue is small, so it is recommended to make reservations as they filled up quickly. We can't wait to come back next time we are in the Brattleboro area.

Good food, good wine, small menu but really taste with meal prep in the old style. Close seating with somehow the feeling of being roomier. Parking could be a bit of a challenge but easy walk from downtown.

We looked at the reviews for this restaurant and decided to check it out for ourselves. We sat at the bar which was very small and crowded. The employees where friendly and put us at ease right away. The sangria was wonderful, not too sweet. Then we ordered our meal. The selection was very unique. Everything was made there fresh for that day! Impressive, no frozen foods thrown in the microwave or oven. Finally was the dessert. We decided to share a chocolate cake type dessert and oh boy was it delicious! We ended up ordering another! Over all, the food was some of the best Mexican we've had in the country and the service was friendly. Oh and the prices were reasonable give the quality of food.

We were in from out of town and very lucky to get a reservation. It was fantastic.

Hidden gem. Excellent menu, pleasant environment (don’t judge by the exterior), great vegetarian options and wine list.

Leo Laporte

Fabulous, authentic Mayan/Mexican cuisine. After only 3 visits I completely love this place, go see for yourself how well this restaraunt delivers well made food

Lucy Dean Stockton

wow !! what a gem! They specialize in traditional Mayan dishes, which range from open face tacos to tamales. Every dish feels fresh, nourishing and that it's made with meticulous authenticity. It's super popular, so plan accordingly.

Andrew Toledo

Best Mexican/Mayan food in brattleboro. Loved the tortillas! Great place for a date as well, but reserve ahead of time. The outside looks like a house, so it's easy to miss.

C Dickson

It was a cool place with a nice atmosphere. The food was good but a bit bland...not tremendously exciting. The menu is extremely limited including drinks. I think they only had dos Equis and corona for beer.

Craig Unruh

Excellent food.. Prices a bit high but the food is so delicious.. Would come here again.... If I lived close enough

Savory, hot or not. Friendly, courteous service, delicious food, reasonable prices. Will travel just to eat here again. Best flan I've ever eaten, almost like cheesecake. Be advised, they may be busy if there's an event in town, but they accept reservations.

Mmmmm......delicious!

Mayan food, prepared from scratch, with love and care. Casual atmosphere. I had an Onzicil tortilla - A tortilla topped with sautéed zucchini and smothered in a tomato-pumpkin seed salsa, served with salad, rice, and beans, and a Modelo Negro - lovely!

Tiffany Specht-Widmaier

Everything is delicious! Try the tortillas or the molé special, you will not be disappointed.

Roxana MacMarrtin

Delicious ethnic Mayan food with excellent service. Small place, so I recomnend to make a reservation.

Michael Doku

Good Mexican food.

Debra Mossey

The food is delicious, empanadas seem to be getting smaller.....

Jennifer Jacobs

Amazing food in a beautiful restaurant! With reservations at 7:30, by the time we ordered they were out of several items (which is why 4 rather than 5 stars). It was delicious and we will go back again earlier in the evening.

Geetu Melwani

Fabulous food and cute restaurant. Note it's a small place but luckily they take reservations and there's patio dining is weather is clear.

Best tacos in brattleboro

What a treat this was. This place had great food and service, tucked away in an unassuming little spot. Doesn’t look like much on the outside, but is really vibrant and fun on the inside. Tried so many things and they were all delicious. They make three kinds of custom tortillas and they were all really good, although the fried bean one was my favorite. The meats are tender and flavorful, and the salsas compliment them well. Beware of the hot sauce on the table... it’s good, but pretty hot! Also the desserts were great! There’s only two options, but they were a perfect ending to a great meal.

Great intimate setting and yummy tortillas. The chocolate suffle thing was amazing.

Todd Good

Excellent authentic Mexican. The tortillas are amazing. Made fresh every day.

Donald Smead

Fresh Mexican food. Family members own and work it. Delicious.

Clark Johnson

A favorite spot, the food is great, very fresh and fun departure from typical Mexican. It is Mayan/mexican. They also have a fun outdoor covered patio. The servers are helpful in answering questions. They have vegetarian options. The curb look is deceiving, kind of a small dive diner looking place outside, but you are in for a treat inside.

Deep Yucatan Maya cuisine awaits the Hungry Traveller; all Smack Dab in downtown Brattleboro, Vermont! Wow is the word, folks; Yes, Wow! Real Masa, Real Ancho and Real Adoba! Go and recall Uxmal and Chichen Itza and Cozumel on the Long Count!

Bianca White

We've been going to 3 Stones for years, have never been disappointed. Food is always fabulous, friendly service, reasonably priced. Be sure to save room for the Boca Negra dessert, a chocolate wonder that will live on in your dreams.

Elliot Arson

Staff was great. Food was incredible. Make sure you save room for flan. Best mole you can ever hope to have in new england.

Alan Bell

This is the best Yucatan style mexican restaurant outside of the Yucatan that I have ever been too. Excellent worth a detour.

Jack Eastes

Very unassuming exterior but don't be fooled, this restaurant is top notch. The food is delicious Mayan fare. I had the chicken tortillas and also tried one of the empanadas. Both were superb. You will definitely want a reservation here as the restaurant is small and only open four nights a week. They also have a small bar area with six or so seats.

Irwin Schwartz

Not your average Mexican place. Fresh tasty and not overloaded.

James Schafer

Small but delicious menus. Make sure to ask for all of their salsas

Rebekah Milks

I would recommend a visit to Three Stones to anyone! The menu is simply fresh and nothing less than perfect! Authentic dishes and attentive service make this dining experience unforgettable!

Remi Anderson

Authentic lovely food

Chris Rose

Always crowded, outdoor seating, great menu, more peaceful than the main Street zone, a standby in Bratt

Aalok Khole, MD

One of the best mexican restaurants I have been to in a long long time...tasteful decor, great service and unbeatable, delicious food...definitely going back soon!

Jenay Robert

Outstanding food, reasonable prices. Service wasn't great (slow, inattentive), but we'd definitely go back anyway.

Soumya Saha

The place looks really small from the outside. But the interior is perfect for some mexican and mayan foods. The place is decorated with few quite interesting paintings related to both of the cultures. We were looking for a place to eat as we were passing through the city. We ordered Empanadas, Tortillas and Tamales. All of them had meat and rice, beans and veggies with them. They also provided spices with the food separately. Food was good overall. I found tamale the most appetizing among the three we tried. The staff were friendly and I liked the accent of one of the staff when she told us the name of the special dish of the day (a spanish name that I didn't understand).

Michelle Cassidy

Loved the food. You need reservations.

Edward Class

Food is amazing and staff is awesome

Kathleen Mysliwiec

I have been coming here for five years. It’s the BEST place to eat in Brattleboro. NEVER disappointed! I live far and come to Brattleboro just to eat at Three Stones. Waiters are amazing, food is amazing, the vibe is amazing. Three Stones will always be my favorite place to dine. I bring everyone here. I respect their ingredients and culture. Nothing like anything you can find in Vermont. Beautiful!

Eric Hemphill

Simple menu, but great food.

Tierre Murphy

Truely a diamond in the rough! Three Stones adheres to tradition at this quaint restaurant. Wonderful service, and always a wonderful meal to accompany. My husband and I love to go there for a nice quiet meal. The environment is always calm and welcoming. The decor is warm and expressive. I highly recommend this restaurant! Ample street parking. Seats are limited, CALL AHEAD! This place has grown very popular over the years

Allison England

Absolutely fantastic, homemade, delicious Mexican food served at a cute restaurant that’s owned by a really nice couple. I only wish I lived closer!

Lisa Murray

really great food best desserts around

Ethan Pravetz

This place is absolutely fantastic. Nowhere else like it. Excellent, authentic food, great portion size. Drinks were delicious (we had agua fresca and sangria). Food is to die for. Don't skip the chocolate dessert! It's an intimate (read: small) location, definitely reserve your table for dinner. Besos y abrazos to the incredible team.

Christopher Metcalfe

Amazing, excellent food, great service...

Scott Harris

Well now I know why they’re only open 20 hours a week. The food was amazing. Outside is sketchy but, the inside is wonderful. Great wait staff. My girlfriend loved it, can’t wait to bring my wife.

Linda Jackson

Great chocolate dessert, good wine, food was mediocre.

Have loved this place since the day the opened. If you like fresh Mayan Food. Try this place

Susan Jett-Motta

Amazing food and service. Like nothing we've ever had before.

Bob P

From the outside this place kind of looks like a dump but inside is very nice. Food is excellent I had chicken enchiladas, don't miss dessert. They had a chocolate molten type cake on the regular menu when we were there and it was one of the best things I have ever eaten. Warning for people with walking difficulties, the bathrooms are down a fairly narrow, long and steep set of stairs.

Amy Koski

Doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside is cozy and has the feel of being invited into someone's house for a home cooked meal

Wil Young

Awesome Mayan food with great service Hot chocolate is to incredible

Ed Gray

Very enjoyable, low key Central American food a little different from the usual.

Katie D.

Amazing! Three Stones was an unexpected gem that we found en route on our trip up north. Everything we tried was bursting with flavor and so amazingly vibrant. I wish that a place like this existed in Virginia, y'all need to open a secondary restaurant in the D.C. metropolitan area.

Bryant Johnson

One of the best restaurants in Brattleboro. Small space so reservation recommend on weekend

Lisa Judge

Food was delicious and authentic. Staff very sweet. Even the people next to us were friendly. Charged us for a dessert we did not have but promptly removed it. Highly recommend!
