There are 24 craft beers on tap about 12 more in cans and bottles. Good selection of regional and popular craft beers. The food was decent, tried the poutine and enjoyed the flavor - it was a little bit on the salty end though. I prefer the wings with sauce already on them, but the chili flavor gave a positive bite at least. Friendly staff. Conveniently located in downtown Montpelier.

Didn't realize the kitchen closed at 9:00 (it was a Monday) and we showed up at 8:30 and it was busy and didn't get seated until after 8:45. Food was awesome and so was the beer. Just needed to give those cooks some props. Thanks.

I had dinner here one night and the atmosphere was really nice - definitely what you expect when it's "craft-everything". The burger I had was delicious, but the fries were wanting and not 5-star, although decent. My grandfather had a porkchop special and he said it was good, but with him you never know. I actually feel bad for the waiter because he was trying to engage with my grandfather but this was probably his first "craft" dining experience, and doesn't like new things. I'll give it to the waiter for trying, though, he seemed to know a lot about beer. I'll have to come back someday.

GLUTEN FREE PEOPLE REJOICE I just had fish and chips and fries and beer- ALL GLUTEN FREE. It was delicious! They have several gluten free options, but the fish and chips was absolutely awesome. Fish was moist and flakey and the breading was GREAT

I want to start off by saying- the food was good. It wasn't anything special that I would travel out for again, but it was tasty. Proportions were pretty small, and not a lot on the menu. The beer menu is fun and they even have some good non-alcoholic drinks. The service on the other hand was not good. Our server was snippy with us when we asked questions, our bill was incorrect.. it was not a fun experience.

Often crowded-- especially on weekends and at the bar (especially during sporting events). Food is wonderful (and local as a general rule). The draft list highlights NE brews including Hill Farmstead and Lawsons. Service is attentive, bathrooms are clean. Family friendly on the dining side. I have never had a negative experience.

Came here because I was staying in town for work and looking for a place with good food and craft beer. I sat at the bar and ordered a Hill Farmstead beer on tap and a smoked chicken salad sandwich with a side of greens. The beer tasted fresh and delicious as always for HF beers, and the sandwich was superb, unlike any chicken salad sandwich I’ve tasted before, but in a good way. The bartenders were attentive and helpful as well, so I plan to make a return trip!

I came here after a long hike and had a delicious meal and beer here. I ordered the braised pork sandwich with fries and cheese. It was DELICIOUS! The pork had a nice flavor but the bun really made it a great taste; it was burned in a perfect way that created a smokiness for me that I enjoyed. The cheese fries were delicious and went well with the beer I had. Friendly service and a beautiful downtown area!

My Husband and I love good wings. That is hard to find in this area. But my coworker suggested Three Penny. I called the order in because we were sick. But my first impression walking in to pick up my order was surprise. The outside of the building seems more like a small town pub. I am not one to just drink at a bar, so going into one can be a little intimidating for me. But as they say, don't judge a book by it's cover. The inside was very warm and inviting. Half the restaurant was a busy bar but through a doorway led into a nice and cozy restaurant seating area which was warmly lit and inviting. We've eaten out here twice, getting the wings both times of course. They are a little pricey but they are delicious! Amazing flavors. My husband loves their IPA sauce flavor. We haven't been disappointed yet and I look forward to actually sitting down and eating here with friends sometime soon.

We had the deep fried chicken wings with BBQ sauce, it was so good crispy and tender also the marinade is perfect. We also had the dips (hummus and pita bread and carrots pickled), the pretzels with cheese dips and hamburger.

Found this place on google. Went based on reviews. No lie, this place was great. The “tpt” sauce is weird (in a good way), and super tasty. Ended up asking for a side for my fries. Had the slider. Damn good. Erika is super cool, made us feel very welcome. Traveling from NH. If we are back in this area, we will return.

Added a couple dollars to the tip on my bill after I left 20%, transaction processed as $2 more than was left on receipt. As if this place wasn't already incredibly overpriced with tiny pours and small portions they are straight up thieves as well. Not worth going in and making a big deal, they will just never have my business again and I will steer everyone I know away. Horrible business practice.

The streets of Montpelier are packed with wonderful eating and drinking options emphasizing locally sourced, farm-to-table fare. This place stands out because of its natural, unforced hospitality and consistently high quality. The Nashville 'hot' chicken sandwich I had this past weekend might have been the best version of this classic that I've ever tasted, and paired beautifully with a local Vermont dark beer. The place was slammed during lunch, so our food took a little longer than expected, but the staff stopped by several times to keep us informed and let us know that our patience was appreciated. I look forward to going back next time we're in the area.

Love this place. Their signature burger with jalapeños and homemade peanut butter is incredible. I get it every time I’m in Montpelier, and can’t wait to visit again. Drinks and craft beer selection are solid. Child friendly dining room area made us feel comfortable with our little one. Very accommodating!

Because we couldn't guarantee that everyone would order dinner, we were refused table seating. Went to Positive Pie instead and spent several hundred dollars.

The burger was really good. Quality beef, excellent cheese, good sauce, good bun. Bun was toasted just right, burger and fries as cooked perfectly toppings were fresh. House fries were delicious. Excellent beer selection, fantastic house root beer. The wait staff was superb: attentive, friendly, and exactly what I hope for from wait staff. I would eat here again any time.

A 45-minute wait for a table on Friday night is one thing. But waiting at the bar for 15 minutes to get a beer? Unacceptable. The bartender was slow and inattentive. We left and won't go back. Never did served.

Tons of beer on tap. The food was all excellent but like others have said, a little on the high end of the price range. Our server has always been excellent. The seating is a bit tight. I have gone a few times with 3 or 4 people to be sat at what I would think is a table for 2.

Love, love, love Three Penny. My only wish is that they would create a menu that has more vegetarian offerings. Veggie burgers and salads are great, but not very interesting. What they lack in veg options on the menu, they make up in their amazing beer selections. If you love beer this is a must stop destination.
