REVIEWS OF The Lookout Tavern IN Vermont

Noah Dion

Very cozy inside, friendly waitstaff, free peanuts in their shell as a snack which was a nice touch. Prices are fair, portions are quite large and we left very satisfied. The Lookout is a great place to grub down, ski season or not...

Susan Hawthorne

The food here is excellent. We had both dinner and lunch here in our weekend stay. The waitress was great as was all the staff. I would highly recommend it.

Denis Walker

Great service and decent food too. Our thanks to Maggie for taking such good care of us!

Sean O'Neill

Half price happy hour wings! Delicious!

Jeff

Went there with my family for dinner on new years eve, they were about half full. It took them 10 minutes to bring our drinks and half an hour for the food. They completely forgot our appetizer and when we asked the waiter what happened he said "they gave it to another table" He also forgot my side. So we gave the waiter a small tip for the poor service and a female bartender gave my son a hard time stating that "we stiffed the waiter". We will not be coming back.

William Schlegel

The food was pretty great, burgers, fench fries, enchilada....that sort of stuff. The food seemed fresh and clean. The place is bigger than the photos make it look. Cozy, comfortable atmosphere. Has a game room to keep the kids and those young at heart busy. Service was great.

Ross and Rebecca Novak

Andrew Simpson

Good restaurant with a decent menu. The food was delicious and the service was good. I recommend the steak tips!

Good food and drinks with a nice setting. The volume was kind of crazy, though not a huge deal. The wood and stone make for tough acoustics. The food was a great way to end the day. Fun setting and friendly staff.

1st time I've been here in the summer. This is a legendary "apres ski" bar at Killington. During the ski season, this place is usually jammed, and always a good time. Our visit in August found the place at a much slower pace. We easily found a place at the bar, enjoyed a few Long Trails, and some burgers. We dived into the barrel of peanuts, and spent a leisurely afternoon. Can't wait to come back during winter.

Guy Gioia

Great chicken pesto sandwich special....Fiddlehead Von Trapp Seasonal...the hills ARE alive with the sound of brewsmic!!!!

jeremy halper

Wings on point. To see the magician at the end of the bar

Syvert Nerheim

Fun place and good food.

Stephanie Dandaraw

The lookout tavern has absolutely amazing food. My baked stuffed mushrooms? Amazing! I gave it 3 stars because the bartenders were cold. I had to wave them down each time I needed them even when we had empty beer glasses for 10 minutes at a half full bar. I get were not regulars, but we ARE paying customers!

Geoff

Good wings and beer. Crowded for weekend apres ski.

Diane Reed

Great food beverages, people and views from deck.

Rich Hargrave

So after decades of visiting Killington, in both the winter and summer months, I've spent many hours in various restaurants, bars and apres ski happy-hours. Many spots have come and gone, and surprisingly some undeserving ones remain. For the last10 years The Outlook Tavern has been #1. Quality, casual menu, great bartenders, and free peanuts! FYI, my kid counted the entire barrel of peanuts a few years ago, guess he was bored. They, like so many other places up here advertise the "best wings". Personally I'm not a big fan of wings, but I guess they're pretty good. Burgers are excellent, as is the pasta and specials. Also, a solid selection of beers. Pool table and game room for the.kids Keep in mind, during the peak season in the winter the place gets jammed. They are the first spot on the left coming down the access road. Ask the bartender an Outlook Tavern trivia question; "where was the stripper pole"?

Matthew Buck

Great food and excellent service . I got the Beast fried chicken sandwich. The chicken was Fresh , very tender . Will most definitely be back .

Cheryl Guminiak

Spent the weekend in Killington, and went to the Lookout twice. Great atmosphere, good drinks, and free wings during happy hour. Would definitely recommend!

Justin Abramson

Great spot, enjoyable food.

Melissa Martins

Better than average bar food. Waited an hour for a table, but it was the Saturday night of a holiday weekend and we didn't know enough to call ahead. Got poutine and wings for appetizers and neither disappointed. Also had the strip steak in garlic butter with leeks and it was cooked to perfection and melted in your mouth. Although a little pricey, I guess it's to be expected for such a highly populated tourist area.

Lou Weisenbacher

Every time we come to Killington we go to the Lookout for Apres! Great wings and Goombay Smashes! Always good service and good food.

Crash Brucker

Great place

Ron Kornbluh

Great little bar after a great day of skiing at Killington. Always good food and good beer at the lookout. Nice atmosphere too.

Aner Gabay

Well, it's the first time I don't finish eating my ribs... We liked the salmon better though. So on the good side - could be better. The kids played in the game room. Ok atmosphere.

COL

What a nice surprise. After spending the afternoon at @KillingtonAdventureCenter , we stopped by The Lookout Tavern. Daily happy hour specials, 3-6 pm, (i think) are worth going anyday.Everyday is different. We got the Sunday 1/2 price nachos & 1/2 price wings. And nake sure you lookout! Cannot believe the great view of Killington Superstar & Peak Lodge. But even better, we had the best time w fab server, Cassie. We will be back for sure!

joon hwang

Great food and service.

Chris Scholtz

Awesome food. Love the wings.

Madison Eckert

Great food and a fun game room to play pool while having a drink.

Paul Hitchcock

Great little spot. Perfect to watch a Pats game.

Elizabeth Fiala

Great food and value for the price, plus our server Judy (a.k.a Pub Diva) was AMAZING and so personable. We had a wonderful time and would recommend it to anyone else in the Killington area.

Brooks Ballard

Good food, great wings.

Jillian Donoghue

This was a really cool restaurant. The burgers are great, the staff is friendly and there is a game room with a pool table and some coin operated arcade games. There is an entire wall of licence plates across from the bar counter. Mostly ski or snowboard related, but still a cool decoration idea. Next time I am in the area I'll be back.

Matt Graves

Cool place good food.....sat up on the deck on a nice evening and just relaxed

Mike Lipscomb

Really good experience. Read previous reviews of the wings and they were delicious. Had the Salmon sandwich with the jalapeno bbq sauce and it was tasty. The portion of salmon for a sandwich was great value and it was cooked correctly, not dried out. The young man who waited on us was pretty new, but did a good job and we were taken care of. Recommended stop.

Nikolai Cherenkov

Good food. Place was understaffed when my family and I visited. There are better places to eat at in Killington.

Derek McColl

Shuttle never showed up, called lookout twice, went to Preston's instead

shalee mcintyre

Sarah Barbour

Colin Metro

Lookout Tavern has a great atmosphere and a large variety of food from burgers to burritos. I ordered a Philly Cheesesteak, and I was very impressed how good it was considering this is Vermont, not Philadelphia. On the other hand, my friend ordered a cheeseburger and was startled to find a strand of hair on his french fry which he later realized was a strand of cheese. A few minutes later, he found a strand of hair on his lettuce, and he was sure of it because it was brown and was rather long in length. Besides the fact that his burger was unsanitary, I thought that the service was great and the atmosphere was awesome. PS: DO NOT come here if you have a peanut allergy of any kind, there are free peanuts available, and leftover shells and scraps are left all over the ground of the restaurant, which shows that they are in fact unsanitary.

Shawn Gregoire

Good food and great service.

Marnix van Deijk

Very friendly staff, nice food, THE place to go in this area off-season

chris peck

Great relaxed atmosphere, views are the best, food is very good

Kevin Madison

Amazing wings but service leaves something to be desired... but hey, its VT right?

Richard Bauchspies

Great service and beer

Heath Garton

Absolute best wings I ever had. Local beers are good too. I drove 22 hours and it was worth it. Can't wait to try the fried clams next time I'm there on a Friday night.

Garry Powell

Close to the lifts and a great place. Eaten here twice. Once a steak and once a jerk chicken sandwich. Both excellent plus top notch service. Great place.

Gerald Carroll

Great place for an after ski meal good burger and wings

Jeremy Rousse

We've been here twice. Had a taco special the first time; burgers the 2nd time. Margaritas were merely OK. Food tasted great. We could have used a bit larger portioning of the sides. (An upcharge to switch from fries to onion rings nets you all of 6 rings... a bit disappointing, as they were delicious.) The "chipwich" dessert on the kids' menu is just the right size and price, though. Would go back again.

Matthew Olesnevich

Get the East LA Burrito

Gino Nicolosi

Fun hometown bar environment, friendly staff. Great food.

Lee Boston

Pork was good, chicken was good, service a little less than stellar

Adam

Quite good but not mind blowing

To Hawthorn

People there were friendly and service was great. We sat out on the deck with views of the mountain. Dinner was so good we went back for lunch the next day. Great place.

Grandpa Hewitt

I ordered the hot wings and the buttermilk chicken sandwich without the ranch. The wings were delicious, juicy and tender, and the jerk sauce was delicious. The chicken sandwich was crispy and tender. The service was great and we were out of there in an hour

Lisa Baltazar

Cheesesteak is small but good sweet potatoes fries are delicious! Service is friendly and quick!

Jim Zamecnik

It's freaking awesome

Travis Newarski

I had a great experience here. I had the Black and Blue burger; it and my fries were delicious. I had the Cable Trail draught as well. The server that was working was super friendly and helpful with suggesting which trails I should hit. I would definitely eat here again.

Stumbled upon this place for lunch while taking in breathtaking views! Great tasting food, casual setting, very reasonable prices for the area.... Is probably very popular after the slopes close... I'm sure it's a good party then!

Allison Gennety

Sick view

William Battaglia

Good service and food

Daniel Armet

Great tavern open for lunch and dinner. Decent beer selection with quality food. The "Beast" sandwich is fantastic.

Nathan Hosley

Fun spot, good times and food. Jess was awesome!

Thomas Fagan

One of the few bars in the Killington area open for lunch at noon. Had the 2 soup specials combined(half black bean, half corn chowder) and it was amazing. Also enjoyed a tasty Scottish Ale from local Drop In brewery.

Nyssa Schmidt

The food here is actually pretty great. We love their wings and that's why it breaks my heart that we will never eat here again. The last time here we had the absolute worst experience with our server. She was incredibly rude. Both my sister and I have worked as servers in restaurants and were shocked at how she spoke to us. We would NEVER have spoken to our patrons that way. This happened two months ago and it still upsets me. I have heard other complaints about the service from other people as well. My recommendation, either go when it's not busy or call in your order and pick it up to go.

Gregory Partanio

Great chicken bacon sandwich

Will Durgin

The buttermilk chicken sandwich is awesome. Free peanuts.

Paul Falanga

Great ribs. Steak was good, a touch too much garlic(and I love garlic ), but very good. Beers and mixed drink great also, asking with friendly service

Emily Sukal

Family oriented.. great service and friendly staff. Will visit again... Joy is a joy to be around, thank you for letting us just relax..

Robert Kimball

Best pub on the Access Road...great servers, great beer, great view.

Alexandra

A good place to stop by in Killington. The atmosphere is fun if you like music and loud conversations (not too loud by my standards). Most people at dinner seemed to have come straight from the slopes for a beer and a bite. They serve these addictive peanuts you can grab yourself (as many as you want). Everyone throws the peanut shells on the ground, which can be gross for some, or fun for others! The food is ok by normal standards, good if you’re hungry, and great after a whole day of skiing!

Tim Puro

Probably the best wings around.

Kenny McKirryher

Great food, great service from an always friendly staff, and great people!

Sandra Ostrander

Amy was the best server and we had amazing food and drinks fast and quick!! Excellent all around!!!

Barbara Damenti

Our favorite place for drinks and burgers. Menu is varied something for everyone.

Tom Farrell

Always popular. Good for quick grub. Friendly bartenders. Family can find a table.

Peter Cushing

We got take out on New Years eve. Really good food and it was not soggy as many take out can become. Food was very pricey but given they were the only ones answering their phones, it was well worth it.

Tucker Moffat

Best wings on the mountain

Jimmy DeLorenzo

They have good food & nice place to eat on the access road. I keep coming back

Mlchael Hayden

Pool table, games. Food looks good. Didn't get to eat any. I will return.

Josh Foster

At the time we went it was very busy and took a while to get our food. Service was so so but the food was good.

Lou Cirigliano

It was ok. Nothing special. Ribs were really spicy and had very little bbq sauce. Black/Blue burger was mediocre.

Paul DiSegna

Staff was friendly and helpful. Ribs were great

Mike Sullivan

Lookout tavern is the pub at the top of Killington. Being a ski resort of course it's overpriced. But you really cannot beat the views.

Rich Erb

Atmosphere

Jill Morales

Great lunch on our travels home. Service was great. Burgers were on point.

Brian Konicki

Good place for a beer.

Kami Dayton

The owner is super mean :(

Will Romano

Overall, the place is a good spot for a post-skiing meal. Good burgers and a great bar atmosphere. However, restaurant cleanliness is clearly not a priority. Peanut shells litter the floors and hair was actually found in my friend's meal. If you don't mind these things, this is the place for you.

Charlotte Caron Adam

Great place to have a beer and eat after a day on the slopes. The onion rings were delicious!

Aidan Pillard

Pricey for what it is, but food is decent and good VT beer selection

Mary Camilleri

This is an excellent and family friendly ski town bar that caters to the tourists and locals alike. The staff are friendly to all and the service and food are excellent. This is by far my favorite hangout in town, and the place that I stop for lunch and dinner on days when cooking at home sounds too daunting. Could use a few more local VT liquors on the bar - that's my only thought for improvement.

Brian ducharme

Great waitress! Enjoyed the place.

Richard Walton

I've always had good food and service there

Giles Polglase

Nice pub in Killington. Local beers and great food. The regular customers are friendly and keen to talk

MARK CARON

Had what they called the beast chicken sandwich which was small and dried out. My wife had the fried fish which was also dried out and was not fresh. The waitress after taking our order we did not see her until it was time for the check

Chris Hoover

Happy hour wings and unlimited peanuts!

Gary Kornbluh

Good place to eat and drink in between runs. Thx Killington!

Chad Mitchell

Awesome spot for a good beverage and quick bites! Cheers
