You must have seen that it reaches an feddbacks average is quite high, and it's based on a large number of feddbacks, so we may conclude that the assessment is quite credible. If people have bothered to value when they are satisfied with the business, it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to put scores when they are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Restaurant is included in the category of Family restaurant.
Went to breakfast for the first time today and the food was simply delicious!! In and out in a timely manner. Great service. Great wait staff. All around a very warm & friendly atmosphere.
Good goodfood
So we get there and they point to the general direction of our table. The lady hands us menus to carry to our table (so far nbd) so we hear the three people who are trying to wait tables, make coffee and seat people argue nobody has assigned jobs. Finally our waitress/hostess comes over to take our order we tell her we know what we want and caitlin says we will have coffee, now instead of taking our whole order and bringing us coffee after we tell her she rudely walks away slams coffee down and then says okay now your order very gruff like. I ask her about her sausage and she basically forces my choice making us feel rushed. Then leaves, a few moments later our food comes out. I had 2 over easy eggs sausage and home fries with toast. My toast wasnt toasted it was bread that looked in the general direction of the toaster, one egg was fully cooked hard yoke the other was over easy, the sausage was just basically Walmart patties which is whatever, and the homefries were cut potatoes that were on the grill no seasoning. Also the coffee sucked. So we are in the middle of eating and she doesnt ask us how our food is but instead in the middle of our food slams our check down and says no rush. Meanwhile while we are trying to eat our bland boring food she is yelling at the other workers in front of everyone. The only reason this diner is second to worst on our list is because our food was actually cooked and came out kinda fast
The food is amazing and you get lots of it for a super low price! The staff is friendly and make the experience even better.
Love coming here on the weekends for a quick and affordable breakfast. Small town, no nonsense charm at its finest.
I went here for many years. I thought the owner's wife (the main server) was your classic "surly" waitress. Now I finally realize, she's just rude.
Great time
Awesome place for Breakfast
I had breakfast with my brother here Saturday and breakfast with my nephew on Sunday. The food is home made, delicious and not over priced. I will definitely be going again.
Found this on Google maps, wanted something local, not a chain... this is not disappoint!!! Don't let the size of the building fool you... they are welcoming and very nice to my Southern family! The food was the best we have had on our trip, truly the best we have had on any road trip! The portions are huge, the fries are sooo good! I had the panini, my husband had the club, the kids had burgers and chicken wraps! All were top notch and reasonably priced! Be prepared for some talk of Boston sports, all sports the owner is from Boston and is true to his roots! He was very kind to my husband with his Braves cap on!! Highly recommend!!!
Great food
Homestyle food at it's best
Great breakfast! No rush, solid fare, good prices!
A family owned landmark, it's always a great way to fill the belly, greet the day and old friends, converse w the staff or fellow guests. This time of the year the electric fireplace was a godsend! They take great care of you at the Dutch Mill!
Nice family diner with all day brunch. Great food and friendly staff. We really enjoy our brunch.
Best breakfast around, fast courteous staff. Will be back soon.
Great food. Good coffee. Small, so allow time for a wait. They try harder than they have to, for being the only place around. Try the homemade bread!
Clean, very good food nice people
Great little place for a quick and tasty lunch.
Harvey Victims from Orange Texas thought the food was Awesome !!!! Y'ALL had good service !!!¡
Friendly. Small and comfy. Walking distance from T-Bird Inn. Good place to stay.
Very good food. First visit will go again, just very cold inside
Pretty good food, very busy place, did have to wait to get a seat but it wasn't more than 5 minutes. There was always some people waiting for a place to sit. Considering it was on the weekend I'm sure most days there wouldn't be a wait. All in all it was a good meal, the owner & waitress were entertaining while eating our breakfast.
Really cute place inside (building looks a little old on the outside). Food was tasty and portions were large. I just wish they didn't charge extra for real maple syrup. I can see charging extra if you want more but in Vermont you often get some free. Prices were a little high also. But staff (possibly owner) was super friendly. I will likely return.
I Love a place that hands you a menu upon entering and says " sit where you like" had a great breakfast there. Very reasonable and good
It's a small, somewhat outdated space, but the dining room was clean and comfortable and pretty full. The service was a bit slow to order, but the food came quickly and the server was friendly. I had the Kitchen Sink breakfast which consisted of a grilled biscuit topped with sausage patties, home fries, scrambled eggs, and sausage gravy. The food was nothing to write home about. The sausages were preformed patties, the biscuits were probably prepackaged, and the taste of pepper overpowered pretty much everything else. The dish came served in a small metal chafing dish, hence the name Kitchen Sink. I couldn't decide if this idea was cute and fun or kind of weird and embarrassing. The portion size was over the top, so I had lunch on the left overs. I'd recommend this place for a quick, inexpensive breakfast or lunch.
It was quaint and the help was straight forward and quick. My friend had a difficult order that was very specific and I felt embarrassed for a moment. That was until the order came out perfect and just as she asked. The woman who took our order joked with us and made us feel welcome as if we were regulars. I liked her style.
Great place to eat! My grandkids, my husband and I all enjoyed our breakfast immensely. Chocolate pancakes for wonderful
Great food, the service can be hit or miss, but they always fix any mess ups no problem.
Excellent as always. Best breakfast around, lots of food at a great price.
This is a very small place so the wait for breakfast was a little long but we'll worth every minute. Delicious food, good service.
Love the Eggs Fred with the home made toast. Real home fries with onions, huzzah.
Amazing breakfast
Great food and service!
Food was awesome
Fantastic diner food at a fun location, served by wonderful folks. Jamie, Mary and the gang are good people. My two buddies and I eat breakfast at The Mill every Wednesday morning. We love it! (Just don't wear Yankees clothes).
good food, and entertaining service.
Fantastic home made food. Don't drive by, stop in and have a great meal
Great breakfast ---- amazing menu!
Good food great service
Strawbrry shortcake and eggs Benedict. Amazing service, nice no frills place.
Nice little family owned restaurant, definitely check it out for breakfast if you're in the area.
Best breakfast around! Southwest burrito is awesome!!
We are frequent visitors of the Dutch Mill and I highly recommend this location for their delicious breakfast and huge portions. The staff is extremely friendly in personable we enjoy coming here as much for the chit-chat as we do the food. You can get real Vermont maple syrup with your breakfast items if you request. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Although, it gets extremely busy on the weekends so come early. Also do not forget to request pie before you leave.
Great Location. We came in when it was busy got seated right away. Breakfast was very good and loved the staff.
As down home as you can get. The food really hit the spot.
Expensive ($25.00 for 2 people) but food is very good. Watch out for a la carte add ons. Vermont maple syrup is extra. $4.00 for 2 poached eggs in a dish.
Quaint and cost! Good food but if you need more than one cup of coffee in the morning, this isn't the place for you.
Good food
GREAT food, GREAT service, FAST and Very friendly .
Went for a breakfast, hope to return soon. The place looks like nothing but feels like a real family restaurant. Best meal that made me happy to skip IHOP.
Great food and friendly staff!
Excellent lunch We stopped on our way out of Burlington and thought we'd get a quick lunch. Nice couple of young men (brothers) taking care of the customers. Really enjoyed the vegetable beef soup and my husband had the grilled cheese sandwich with bacon and tomatoes. Highly recommend.
Good but overpriced for the portions.
It looks a bit unattractive from the outside, but the food is awesome. They grill steak, roast beef, pulled pork on their outside grill. I recommend the open-faced sandwich with gravy.
Small. But super friendly. An good eats.
If you're longing for a real diner experience.... This is the place. Great selection of regular coffee shop traditional fare but also some Canadian Quebecois type dishes and breakfast options as well. You need to be hungry to eat there, the portions are larger than average. One of my regular stops for sure.
Solid breakfast place. I would rank it higher, but a server asked by grandmother for the chair she was using while waiting for a table (who asks someone with a cane for their chair?!?!)
Amazing food, great service, and fair prices. My favorite place to eat!
My boyfriend and I went and had breakfast at The Dutch Mill for the first time. We had high hopes considering it looked family owned and we love brunch style menus. We were greeted by a not so friendly server who commenced to tell us to sit anywhere. After trying to navigate the overly complicated menu, our server came and took our order. I ordered the french toast and a side of crispy bacon and my boyfriend ordered eggs, toast, home fries, medium bacon and pancakes. The wait wasn't long when our meal started to arrive in portions. The crispy bacon that I had ordered was so black and overcooked that it turned to dust when touched. After taking a few bites of my thin and wonder bread like french toast, I noticed a brown, curly hair swimming in the maple syrup. Across the table, my boyfriend was experiencing his own breakfast disaster. His toast was more like soggy bread. His scrambled eggs were overcooked, brown, and dry. The home fries were more like plain, under-seasoned fried potatoes. We tried to get the manager's attention when he was dropping the pancakes off, but he ran away so fast and ignored us as we tried to bring his attention to the hair. We proceed to stare at this hairy french toast for another twenty minutes before the server comes over and asks us if we need anymore coffee. We politely refuse and point out the hair. She says something about a brush, doesn't apologize, and runs back to the kitchen with the hairy plate. We both work in the restaurant business and know what is to be expected. We also know that these things happen all the time and we are usually pretty tolerant when it comes to complaining. But this was just wrong in every way imaginable. The server never once communicated with us about the food. Not even a "How is everything?". We never even got a chance to tell her about anything other than the french toast and even then she couldn't apologize or offer any remorse. She comped the french toast and coffee off of our bill and at this point we are just ready to leave. We waited again, card in book at the end of table, for another ten minutes as she ignored us walking by several times. Finally, we just walk up to the front counter to pay for it ourselves. As we are standing there paying for the disappointing meal, a man in the kitchen begins hollering "Hey guys!" waving a butter brush saying: "This is what was in your food guys, not a hair." Again, we both work in the business and know the difference between hair and a plastic butter brush bristle. We shake our heads, pay for the meal, and leave unhappy and disappointed patrons. Hopefully this will offer some insight on your next brunch location.
Great breakfast!
Chicken and waffles were delicious
Excellent breakfast spot. I have not been for lunch yet so I cannot judge. Very good service very good price. If you plan on going on Sunday call ahead and make a reservation. There doesn't appear to be any wait during the week.
Good, hearty breakfasts for a reasonable price!
Wow What crazy place
Pastrami sandwich lots of fat and Gristle was not very good fries were good for about 5 minute. They got cold and they weren't very good my girlfriend got the roast beef and she said it wasn't bad
Definitely should not be on googles top 10 restraunts. It's very tiny inside. Tried to over charge us. Also the waitress was swearing because we brought it to her attention. Never again.
Excellent Diner.. I had the Turkey Sandwich on homemade wheat bread.. very good.. the Turkey was about 2 inches thick.
A small and cute windmill that houses some good homemade style cooking. Fills up quick but the food came out fast and was delicious. All the standard breakfast fare. French toast and sausage were great.
Lots of character, ok food. Home fries were nice and crispy, which was awesome!
Great diner food, awesome people, inexpensive. Local fav. Gets busy! Breakfast is best. Get “Eggs Fred “
Stopped in for breakfast. Had steak and eggs with home fries. Steak cooked perfect med/rare and nice large eggs. Home fries were grilled and seasoned perfectly. Reasonable prices. Would visit again.
Wow! I haven't had an open-face sandwich in 20 years so while visiting the area went to the Dutch Mill to enjoy their pork & gravy sandwich. Huge helping and just to die for! Atmosphere is very folksy with a variety of New England accents bantering about. Enjoyed it tremendously and hope to go back to try the beef version before I have to leave.
Great service and food!
Love the "Egg Roll" style for the burrito I had for breakfast. They are open super early every day and that is great for an early riser like myself.
The owners is so cool. Shes funny, friendly, fast. 10 stars. Excellent food
great food!
The food was overcooked. Not to mention the run down, unclean, 1970's decor. I don't even want to imagine what their kitchen looks like.
Awesome place. Great home cooking in a great atmosphere. I wish there was a place like this closer to home
Great food and people
It's ok place.. doesn't open early enough. Nothing special about the food. Fly was bugging me and the reason I won't go back. Can't stand flies around my food.
Good breakfast food, service not so much, a bit pricey
Small place, good food, very friendly fast service, parking in rear
Loved it. Mary is a "Hoot."
The proprietor is a real hoot, and the food is delicious, well-priced, and plentiful. Love it!
Great family owned home cooking!
Nice, locals place with great pie and good diner-style food. The potatoes, homemade bread, and Shelburne omelet were delicious.
Great flavor! This was my 2nd visit, and it was even better than the first one! Food came quick, hot, and full of flavor. I had the Montreal meat bennie.... I highly recommend!
Food is always fresh, prepared just right, with large servings. One of the friendliest staffs around and simply great casual dining.
Pretty good breakfast
Great staff. Yummy comfort food.
Food sucked!!! Had no flavor and had a bad after taste. Service was bad. Never coming back.
I love this place! Locally owned and operated. Food is all made fresh and homemade. We eat here every Sunday!
Busy place, obviously very popular with locals. People we're friendly and coffee was hot. Didn't try any fancy ford but it sure looked and smelled amazing
I'm apprehensive with small places like this, but the Dutch Mill was a treat! The eggs Benedict was spectacular. I'm not a connoisseur of hollandaise but it was particularly lovely. My mom loved the corn beef hash as well, and the potatoes were cooked perfectly. The staff were efficient and thoughtful, and at one point the lights were turned off and the whole restaurant sang happy birthday to a customer. Everything was great, everyone should try it!
Great breakfast spot!
The food is amazing
We love Dutch Mill. Good food. Good people. It was always our go-to breakfast place, but then we moved to a new house further away from it and had a baby. We were sad about not being able to get there very often. Today, we were thrilled to visit and let our toddler experience his first Dutch Mill waffle. He was a little cranky before we arrived, but all smiles while we were there. He loved it, so mom and dad were all smiles, too. They also have good lunch food, but I have less experience with that. I just can't ever bring myself to pass up their breakfast menu. Arrive early as there can be a wait, sometimes. Arrive hungry, because portions are generous. High chairs are available and restrooms are in great shape. They are open 7 days a week from, I believe, 7 AM to 2 PM.
great breakfast, good prices
Love the food love the friendly staff love that its local
Great food at a great price
Like most things in life it's all about setting expectations. If you're looking for good diner style food this is the spot for you, if you're looking to rival the culinary experience of some of the more hipster oriented breakfast sports in the area you are certain to be let down. Great corned beef hash given the setting. Also they have some creative Benedict offerings.
Looks more inviting once inside. Delicious simple breakfast. Could use some more flavourful bacon. I would come back on the next trip.
Great meal !
Very tasty, try the pie -- it was delicious.
Best BLT I have ever had! Amazing service! Great small home town restaurant!
So nice here. Felt like being around family and friends. Kind, funny folk. If you want to enjoy a meal in a friendly environment you'll feel welcomed here. The food is awesome as well. I really enjoyed my time here.
Poor service. Dull food. I ordered meatloaf & got burned meatballs covered in gravy. No order to taking orders & delivering food. Drink refills were by chance. Save your time, drive by.
Soooooo good! Do yourself a flavor and go the The Dutch Mill! Order the dishwasher special.
Great place for a simple, delicious breakfast! Staff know how to handle a rush!
Doesn't get any better than the fresh roasted hot Turkey sandwich with fries and Cole slaw !!...gravy and vinegar on the fries tops it off
Great service and even better food
Love this place, staff always makes you feel like family and the food is delicious. Been coming here since I moved to Vermont 4yrs ago.
This is a cozy little diner with lots of charm. The place is owned by a Boston sports fan, and it shows. Service is decent, and the place is nice and clean. Prices are nice, and you get good, greasy-spoon style cuisine here. Just be ready if you eat light or have dietary restrictions, because a lot of things come with bacon. I had to pick mine off, because I do not eat pork, but I did not complain. The food was still delicious. (If you're a bacon-lover, then this is your local Mecca.) One thing to note about the place is that they serve the crispiest, tastiest french fries you will probably ever have. I might have only wanted a splash of malt vinegar on them, as is my idiom. Anyway, this is a great little place with a lot of heart. It caters to locals and tourists alike, but is only open for breakfast and lunch. One fun thing to note, they cater, so if you are having an event or a big get-together in the area, call or stop in to book the food. I have no doubt that it will be fantastic. It's just a lovely little stop along the road outside of Shelburne as you're heading North. So check it out!
Excellent food, great service, friendly staff
Great atmosphere, very fast service. Excellent breakfast
Good
Great food and place to stop.
The waitress was very friendly and attentive
If you want a really good diner stop in the Burlington area, this is it. Lots of unpretentious food for a reasonable price, nice atmosphere. I might be cautious were I a Yankees fan, as the owner is a die-hard (if good natured) Red Sox fan.
Best Vermont food ever
Loved the local vibe and great food! Make sure you eat all your food!(lol)
Breakfast was good, but we’ve had better pancakes elsewhere in vermont with maple syrup for free. Here you pay a dollar. Side of sausage gravy is 3.75. Seems a tad high. Reason for 3 stars is the service. Older woman (owner?) was rude. Rolled eyes while i was deciding on what type of toast to get. We noticed she was friendly with the regulars though. Service needs to be better. If you dont care and just want a spot to eat then its good enough.
Friendly, accommodating service in a vintage setting with real good breakfast menu!
We have explored many places for breakfast in the greater Burlington area and we consider the Dutch Mill to be a hidden treasure. Traditional breakfasts are served in large portions. Breakfast is served all day. There is a lunch menu as well. And the boss lady has a lot of personality. We highly recommend it.
ALWAYS good food!
Very good food atmosphere is awesome very nice people
Little rough on the outside but really nice inside. True Vermont local spot and a great breakfast
Great little spot for breakfast. Owner and wife were fun and friendly to our family. Food was good, coffee was hot and we left with full bellies.
Excellent food and service. Staff is very friendly.
Great service ...small , cozy ...and Red Sox fans !
Fantastic comfort food!
My wife and I love to go here it's a good cheap date in the food is really good and we love the people.
Awesome breakfast!
Super breakfast and fast. Good place
Great breakfast even for a Yankee fan.
Great place. Very friendly people!
Not so good
Great service and homemade food
Fast service and great tasting food!
Great homemade food. Great for a cold Vermont morning
Best pancakes ever, had breakfast here twice over the Labor Day weekend. The Kitchen Sink was amazing!
Friendly, prompt and joyful. Thank you so much!
Homey diner feel, solid portions, and pretty good food! Also free coffee refills.
Great fast food ! It was excellent.
It was okay good at best. Clearly too many options for such a small kitchen.
Good portions, prices, and a hostess from the Boston Durgin Park hospitality school. Fun!
Really disliked the coffee - and while I appreciate good coffee, I'm happy with pretty much anything. I made Maxwell House at the motel and preferred that to here. Food was fine but honestly, the only thing I really liked about the place was that it's in a mill... oh, and the fun Sox decor inside.
Nice tiny little diner. Typical diner food. Local family.
Good but pricey. $17 for 2 blueberry pancakes, 2 eggs, 4 bacon and a milk.
Nice cozy place.. food is very good.. a good variety to choose from.. breakfast all day...
Great place to eat breakfast or lunch
Coffee wasn't good, no room, very small, all our order were mixed up, forgotten items never brought to table. Didn't care for the joint. The place is runRun down. The building is bad on the outside. Don't recommend
Great breakfast as always!
Outstanding value! The food was excellent as was the service!
Small, cosy and extremely friendly family restaurant with huge portions! Can't go wrong with this one!
Good food and friendly staff. I've always had breakfast and have been pleased. The eggs and hash breakfast is great. The dining area is small and can feel cramped when it is crowded.
Good food! Service good! Clean family style restuarant!
