Wonderful food! Friendly staff! We have gone here for many many years! My grandmother came here in the 1930's! However if your using a debit/credit card you have to spend more than $12.00, not great if your planning on splitting one of their big portions! But love it regardless! Juat bring cash!

Doesnt open at the time stated. Going back at noon. Really hope its actually open then I'm starving! Edit: food was proper, prices aren't but it is in downtown. The hot and sour soup was different, but good. Crab Rangoon was tough and the S&S sauce was kinda flavorless. Beef and broccoli was really good, the beef wasnt too spongey and the veggies were really good!

New Kong chow is definitely nothing like the old one! The house wings are really tasty, the pad Thai is great & the curry is pretty good too. Crab ragoons are kinda gross. The place definitely needs an updating.

forgot half our order. “vietnamese coffee” is standard coffee from the cafe next door, not the standard iced variety any other vietnamese restaurant would have. only it costs $3. No thanks

Had our volunteer holiday lunch today and had an excellent time. The food was delicious, the service was quick and friendly and this place has a very comfortable, cozy atmosphere. We had a great time!!

I love this place! Best Chinese food in town! I used to eat here once a week for lunch when I lived here. Now I've moved away, but I get it once a year on Christmas Eve when we are visiting family. Still a favorite!!

#chinesefood When I'm looking for Chinese food, New Kong Chow is the place. Crab rangoon is made in house and is not sweet; like it should be, the amount of food for the price is good. This place does not disappoint, the best in Rutland, VT. Staff works hard to please and food is made fresh. Large Pu Pu Plater is an awesome meal for two. Everytime we eat here even on Christmas eve at 8:00pm in 2018 staff was curtious and attentive.

The hot and sour soup was different. It had a moderate amount of ingredients. It was sweet which was a surprise. It was tasty. The Mo sou pork was generous in volume. Their was a choice between rice or wraps. It had mushrooms in it which seemed different. I liked it. There was enough wraps to eat the contents provided.

I took the advice of the other reviewers here and had a very nice meal. Started with the vegetable roll. The outside was nice an crispy and the inside hot and a very good blend of veggies. The Hot and Sour soup was exceptional with the flavors blended perfectly. General Tsoa's Tofu was excellent! The tofu was fried crispy on the outside and firm inside. The sauce was a nice blend of spicy and sweet. The plate was arranged and accented by the flower blossom/carrot and the greenery. A very pleasant presentation indeed! I ate here on a Sunday night and was the only patron in the place. That being said, there seemed to be a steady flow of take out orders leaving the kitchen. Service was very good and attentive, but again, I was the only one here! I'll be back to sample some other dishes very soon.

Excellent service with an excellent meal. I enjoyed the hot and sour soup along with the lemongrass chicken, both were perfectly prepared and tasty. I let them chose the spice level and it was perfect. Really nice people. I would definitely go back.

Presentation of food was spot on and tasted excellent. Server conducted himself professionally. A restaurant not frequently supported by the locals what a shame. Not one for traveling downtown may explain for my comment before. Would be back if I ever find myself downtown Rutland, Vermont.

After eating at this particular restaurant since I was a child ... and, things have definitely changed. We were not given our waters until 20 mins. after being seated. The service is not even close to what it used to be. This was a substandard meal. Giving it some time before I go back. One bad experience, upon 2 others, makes a huge difference in where you choose to eat.

If you don't like your mother or mother inlaw...this is the place to go! As a payback of course! LOL I love Chinese food..this....omg the worst I have ever had. It's too bad too. I personally will never go again. LoMein...white looking taste..never tasted it like this. Tangerine chicken ..what a shame...ragoons...really? So but thought people needed a warning. So not happy I brought my mom there on Mothers day! Bummer

Went in on a Monday for lunch. Was the only couple there. Service was wonderful! I had to write a review about the beef teriyaki appetizer, because I dreamt about how good it was last night. So good, in fact, that I will be ordering some once the restaurant opens. In the meantime, I am drooling.

The staff was very polite and friendly, unfortunately there were pretentious people on the booth behind us commenting on every move we made very uncomfortable so finished asked for a doggy bag they through the whole pupu platter in a wax bag and boxed the general tso it was horrible used to be a good place I wouldn't recommend it.
