If you want to experience a pretty bad chicken fetuccine Alfredo or the strangest pumpkin ravioli (think pumpkin pie but ravioli) I would recommend eating here. Fiddlehead IPA was a win, waitstaff was pretty decent, food... That they need to work on.

Beautiful mansion like restaurant. Service was fast, friendly and cheerful. Salmon was delicious, served hot. Braised rib ravioli was flavorful and a very good portion. Salad bar is with all entries. Lunch menu looked ample, but really I felt very satisfied with dinner.

First, our waitress appeared to be high on drugs. She had the classic signs of a tweaker- scabs all over her face, twitching and just way high energy. She really freaked me out. THEN......I went to the bathroom. It was totally disgusting, but I thought I'd try to overlook these two things since my husband and I were insanely hungry. LASTLY, I went to the salad bar. There was rotten veggies all down in the bottom of the salad bar table. When I told the manager that I wanted to cancel my order, the tweaker said she just cleaned the bathroom and that the salad bar had just been changed. Both obvious lies. Please do yourself a favor and never eat here. I would have been incredibly angry if I had gotten food poisoning on my weekend getaway. I would give a negative score if I could.

We ate on the terrace with our three dogs. The waiter, Eric, was wonderful and attentive. They did not mind the dogs and were friendly. Eric was efficient, yet attentive and engaging. The food was delicious. Father and Mom visiting our 26 y/o with our dog and her 2 dogs. High recommendations for shrimp with pasta, Pam seared ahi tuna. Portions were excellent. 170902.

DO NOT GO HERE! Went here for diner. Started out good but then my wife and I went to the restroom and they were both disgusting. Everything from toilet paper to urine all over the floor and it smelled bad. We looked past it and placed our order. Then we go to the salad bar and find a moldy old piece of tin foil at the bottom of the green pepper tub. Then we start looking around and everything is filthy. The menus were covered with greasy finger prints and the tables were sticky. We decided not to get sick from here and left.

Let me me start by saying that I have never been to Lakeview House before and that my particular experience may account for one in a thousand guests. I've also been to restaurants more than a thousand times and never in my life have I been asked to leave. On Mother's Day, 2017 I decided to bring my wife, son and daughter for brunch. About 50 minutes after we ordered and about 15 minutes after a party of six sat down and got their food, our server came over and apologized for the delay and asked my wife if she wanted another bloody Mary and a refill of coffee. Ten minutes later and no beverages, I walked over and asked the hostess to send the manager over to our table. At that point I saw our server bringing food (to a party of four who came in about an 45 minutes after we ordered our food) and I asked if that was ours. She motioned to another server behind her who had two plates for our table. We're at just over an hour after putting in our order and the two sections I could see were only occupied about 25%. The server who brought our food asked if we needed beverages refreshed and my wife mentioned that she had not received either her bloody Mary nor coffee. In less than five minutes the server returned with the coffee and bloody Mary (actually two bloody Marys and I sent the other back since mine was more than half full). I should mention that about half an hour after we ordered I saw the manager bussing the table next to us (she either missed or dodged an opportunity for a table touch). Now, my daughter is two and all we ordered for her was a fruit cup. Our server could have at least brought that out first. She filled up on all the snacks we had with us and only picked at the bowl of miserable melon and grapes. No strawberries. I had strawberries on my soggy French toast that I gave her. Shortly after, our server returned with the check. I finished my food and walked the bill with my credit card to our server and asked her where the manager was. Now, this is where the situation got really crazy. Our server said she was "right there," pointing to the end of the empty bar. And there she was, with a fresh bloody Mary in front of her (I'll give her the benefit of doubt and assume it was non-alcoholic). I said "Hi, I asked our hostess to see a manager fifteen or twenty minutes ago. Her reply was curt. "I've been busy." Not what a manager should say to a guest with an issue. I proceeded, "We've had an epic failure at our table and my guess is that our server forgot to put our order in." I've been around the food service industry for many years and the tell tale of a forgotten order is when similar sized parties who ordered after you get their food before you. It's not a big deal, it's how the management recovers that I am concerned with. Back to the craziness; the manager said that there are other sections that I couldn't see. I said that these two sections here have been slow for the past half an hour and since I saw you bussing a table, I'm guessing you're understaffed. Then the bartender, who had been eavesdropping said that there were also two twenty tops. I turned to her and said, "I'm sorry, I was speaking with your manager." Without hesitation, she said "You can just leave! That was so rude!" I glanced at the manager, who said nothing and I turned and walked past our server who was in the process of running my credit card and I promptly took it, gathered my family and left. Epilogue: There were several opportunities to make this right. Not only were they missed, but given a chance for redemption, they failed miserably. Fault lays completely with the manager. Her denial to take control and make us whole was far worse than the service error. I'm sure you'll have a better experience.

I ordered the NY strip and it was bland, no flavor. It was difficult to cut because of the tendon and just overall a bad piece of meat. The green beans were so tough that I had to spit them out. How awful! I don't see them being in business much longer if they don't seriously change. I have eaten here a couple of years a go and was very impressed. Not this time though. The clam chowder was ok, and it was certainly nice of the server to bring it out after being reminded. If given the choice of this place or Burger King, Do yourself a favor and get a whopper.

Let me start by saying this is the first review I've ever written after a meal. Our server came over to us after we sat down and asked us if we wanted to start with some drinks and since I knew what I wanted I ordered. My girlfriend said she needed a little more time. The waiter, instead of offering to come back in a couple minutes, stood there and stared at her. About one awkward minute later he finally moved on and came back a few minutes later to get her drink order. After ordering our meals, two different steaks both medium, we went to the salad bar. Not a great selection and some of the veggies weren't fresh at all. I was willing to forget all that since I didn't come there for the salad anyways. When our meals came out soon after my girlfriend's steak, while cooked medium, was poor quality. Not worth the price. I ordered the filet so I assumed it would live up to price. It didn't... I cut into it to find it completely rare. I flagged down the waiter to show him. He seemed confused then asked if I wanted it cooked a bit longer. Why else would I be showing him my steak?! It went back in and when it finally came back out I cut into it and guess what? Still completely raw! The waiter again seemed puzzled but brought it back to the kitchen, no apology. Another long wait. When I finally got what turned out to be a completely new steak it was finally cooked. The chef came out and semi apologized by blaming it on the trainee they let cook the steak. No manager came out to apologize or reduce our meal. The worst part was when I finally took a bite the steak was flavorless and crappy quality. My advice is if you ever get a gift card to this place, set it on fire and rethink your relationship with the person who gave it to you.

Filet cost 30 bucks. Sent it back because was cooked to well. Came out still bleeding. Waited so long my man was done with his meal til my came back to the table...ate 3 bites til i realize its still a deep red color. Waste of my time and money...smh no better then a truck stop.

The ribeye was cooked to perfection. The seasonal Saison was a delightful treat. The most memorable? Christina the bartender. She made my visit a phenomenal dining experience. Notice I said "dining experience" although I sat at the bar. Outstanding service, hands down.

We ate there several days ago. My wife had a chicken dish. The meat was so tough and chewy she had trouble cutting it with the knife they provided. The server offered no solution to the problem but did apologize. Then we found a hair in the vegetables. Our servers only response was that she didn't know where that was from as the chef was bald. Avoid this place like the plague.

The staff was nice, the atmosphere was dark and warm, the food was ...meh. I paid $26 for cold prime rib. Seriously cold, just out of the refrigerator cold. She took it back to heat it up and overcooked it. The salad bar was small, the cole slaw smelled funny, and the beets were slimey. I won't be returning.

Great food and drinks! The staff is very hospitable! I do agree it is a little more pricey than expected but so is the cost of living in Vermont. If you stay in any of the surrounding hotels you do get 10% off your meals if you ask.

This is such a beautiful bar and restaurant. Unfortunately it has been steadily declining in service over the last few years. Cocktails are ridiculously expensive and bartender made mistakes on our drinks. We used to be fairly regular here but stopped going awhile ago because we became increasingly dissatisfied. We'll check back in a few years. Hopefully it will have changed owners by then!

Beautiful building and dining area. The food left much to be desired. The sliders were cold. The shrimp tacos were so drowned in chili sauce that they were almost inedible. Also, seemed like one shrimp cut into pieces for each taco. The chili sauce was so spicy, I had to drain and blot it away to eat what I could. Service was fine.

Very disappointed! Our waitress Tess was adorable and very attentive. BUT there were other issues that came up. The drinks were very good but there was a crack in one of the glasses that wasn’t noticed. When I brought it back to the bartender he just poured it into another glass and handed it to me with no apology then he walked away. The salad bar was tasty. Then appetizer came with 3 of the meals. Two of us waited for our meal about 5 minutes. Then the next meal came. Her filet had no flavor and they gave her rice instead of potatoes. I asked to see the manager whose name was Bruce. As I was explaining my meal finally showed up. I thought that my meal should have been free BUT no Bruce offered me and only me a free dessert. I looked at him and said that was unacceptable. He walked away. When we were finished Tess, again adorable said she took my meal off the bill. We gave her our card and she came back a few minutes in tears saying that Bruce told her she could not do that. We felt so bad for her. Very VERY disappointed ☹️

Disappointing over all experience. The server messed up my order forgot my drink first then forgot my side. He recommended a Philly cheese steak sandwich, and when it came out there was a cold part and a lot of fatty parts. I've never had a Philly loaded with fat before. The fries were soft and soggy. The French onion soup was made with rye bread for the croutons and it was an odd flavor for a classic soup. I won't eat here again. There's a McDonald's down the road.

Unimpressed with the service, so I opted to get my food to go. The clientele they keep at the bar is appalling. A mouthy old man getting his rocks off baiting the boyfriend of the bartender was the entertainment for the night. I guess I was expecting a classy establishment of of a higher caliber. I suppose if I am unfortunate enough to visit this area again I'll be ready for the Roadhouse...maybe Patrick Sawayze's ghost will make an appearance. Update: the food is good.

Disappointed. There is no lake view , unless, as the host told me , you go up on the roof. Steak was cooked to order, but the mushroom caps actually looked more like canned sliced button mushrooms with stems on. There was a lot of liquid on my plate as well. Food was just ok. I don't think I would recommend or go back myself.

Food was subpar. The place smelled of rotten fish that was just microwaved. At $25+ per person, go to Outback or Applebee's. The food is much better for the money. I gave 2 stars for the service because the waitress did her job well.

I never had a worse dining experience than my wife and I had at this place. After a long day of driving we wanted a few cocktails and a good meal. The head waitress passed us off to a newbie, and even after several attempts to let her know our service was bad, which she was well aware of as she had two tables to either side of us, four out of five in the bar section, nothing changed. So after 45 minutes and one cocktail , we walked out. We were very disappointed.

Went to brunch there this morning...HORRIBLE! Had steak and eggs. Ordered my eggs over easy and the yolk was completely cooked. Steak was the size of a McDonald's Hamburg patty and no more than 1/4" thick. Toast came dry and cold. My husband ordered rye toast and it never came even after asking twice! Our party was the first ones there and the bartender NEVER came out and helped the poor obviously inexperienced waitress with our party of 18 serve drinks. 2-1/2 hours there and had to go ask for our check! Will never Go back!!!! The only plus I can say is that the establishment itself is beautiful!
