Was led to a table upon entering. Sat there for 25 minutes without someone bringing water or taking the order. Got up and left. First time there, there won't be a second time.

It had been a while since I was at Halvorson's. The soup and the salad I had were both very tasty. But I chose them because I refuse to be fleeced. The prices have become outrageous. A cob salad for 12.50? A burger and fries for 12.50? Meatloaf for $16.50? With a coke and a modest tip I dropped 20 bucks for a lunch of soup and salad. And the carpet in that front area with the window seats is truly disgusting. How long has it been there? If anyone from Halvorson's is looking at this, log off and look at the carpet.

Good food, clean interior and friendly service. Only gripe was lighting. There is one hallway light in the main dining area. Inside the restaurant it is rather dark.

Jeffery Baxter

Great food, better service. What a delight it was to eat here, a must-go if you're planning a visit to Church St.

really nice employees. got the margarita flatbread, 10/10.

While the service was good, and the food decent, me and my girlfriend we're out celebrating our anniversary. We ordered spinach dip and mimosas to start, and she went in the back. After several minutes she asked for our IDS again. Then she said she wouldn't be able to serve us. The issue that we had is we would have gone else where if we couldn't be served her, we would have gone else where without getting food, which because of the wait we had to buy

Lisa Hallam

Best artichoke gouda spinach dip ever. The mac and cheese was also very good.

My husband and I made an quick overnight trip to Burlington. We put our names on the list here and were told 30-40 minutes, so we waited. Around 30 minutes my husband checked in and was told it would be another 30-40 minutes! We left and looked for another place to eat but having had already wasted 40 minutes to not eat at this cafe totally screwed up our chances to get into another place without waiting around another hour.

Joyce Touchette

There was really nothing about our experience that went well. First we had to wait 45 mins for a seat. That's okay, it was Black Friday. We each bought a different draft beer and all of them were flat. When we brought it to a server's attention, we were told to tell the bartender! We waited over 30 more minutes for our food. My friends hamburger was raw and the New England Clam Chowder was cold. When we asked to see the manager, she didn't apologize. She offered to comp 50% of the bill and left. The server was obviously embarrassed. When the check arrived, they'd charged us for the burger that they took away and never replaced. We will not be returning to this restaurant. It's a shame because it used to be a reliable go-to place for us.

Had the house special take on a patty melt and the non-alcoholic cider. Friend had beef with potatoes three ways and hot tea. Sooooo good. The ambience is lovely. We sat on the darker side near the window to people watch. No problem splitting the bill, great service.

Rebecca Taylor

Love this place! Been going there for years! Always great food, great service and a good time!

William Molls

Couldn't find anywhere else that wasn't packed on our Saturday night in Burlington to grab a beer and a bite to eat, so we ended up here. It was great! We got a table by the window right away. Awesome beer selection. Our server was super friendly. I ordered a BLT and was very satisfied. I would definitely come back!

Martha Jensen

Great food. Awesome.

Food and service here has really gone down hill... Of the last 2 times I've been here it took 10 minutes just to get seated and another 15 just to get a menu.... and the restaurant was maybe 1/3 full. Like a very small handful of fries with my burger that took 45 minutes and they were cold. Also my beer was flat, although they replaced it after changing the keg that took another 10 minutes and they charged me for both beers. They seem chronically understaffed and the waitstaff act miserable. And there's better food on Church Street for the price.

Michael Sullivan

One of the worst meals I have had in years. The "bbq chicken" not bbq at all. It was steamed chicken with bland, watery bbq sauce poured over it. The steak frites, which was ordered medium rare, was well done, it might as well have been boiled. The meat arrived on the plate grey and sad. No flavor. The fries were ok and the service was good, too.

Great location on church St. Service was nice, pleasant and efficient. Food was as expected, and together with the great weather gave us a perfect opportunity to people watch

Toby Metcalf

Tasty, comforting food served by friendly people. Great local beer selection too.

Stopped in here for lunch when I was on Church Street last week. Service was fast, polite and attentive. My lunch consisted of a tomato flatbread pizza which was warm, cheesy and mildly and nicely spiced. Had a side spinach salad dressed in warm bacon vinaigrette. Good sized salad, a lot heavy on the bacon but most people would proaby consider that a plus. Nie cozy pub atmosphere but not too noisy. May make it a regular stop for lunch meetings.

Christopher Temple

Great little pub with good food too

Pretty good experience here. I sat outside on their patio this past weekend during the street/sidewalk sale on church street. I dined by myself and the waitress I had, Melissa I believe, treated me very kindly. She was attentive and nice. The food was very good, and I especially loved her recommendation of the shrimp tacos! I had a glass of wine which was nicely complimented by their daily special caprese salad. The tomatoes could have been chopped smaller, but overall the taste was great as was the atmosphere.

I live in Santa Barbara, CA now but spent the last 20 years in Burlington. I ate dinner at least once a week there and I never had a bad or overpriced meal.l always enjoed the California wine...When I come back to visit I'll drop-in once again for the best wine and food in Burlington!!!

New menu? Maybe, but the service is horrible and the food is poor. I had the clam chowder, which was good but when they brought my Caesar Salad with Salmon, the salmon was very rear, almost a sashimi, which I did not ask for. Then the waitress explained that the cook was new and he previously worked in a fine restaurant... any fine restaurant that I've been at at least let's you know that the fish is only seared. Wait staff should not assume that their customers are idiots. On top of that, the Romaine was suspiciously similar to iceberg lettuce and the dressing was bland. Don't bother with this place.
