REVIEWS OF Everest Indian-Nepali Restaurant IN Vermont

Alex Weinstein

So good. Menu has many interesting choices, will definitely be coming back to try more!

Maithrie Vaidyanathan

Extremely bad food ! Nothing was cooked properly, no salt, momo was bad too !

Sarah Schantz

Great food! The people who run the restaurant are very friendly and kind :)

Ashish Adhikari

Momo was an utter disappointment. Chicken kadai had stale meat. Really wish they'd improve the food quality.

Vidya Mishra

A very homemade taste and homely staff. We tried the momos, Thalis, naans, paneer tikka masala.

Deepak K. Gupta

Tasty food, good ambience and great service!

Kyle J. Longe

Great food, friendly service, BYOB, will be back again for certain!!

sunita pradhan

Best place to grab quick take out and the staffs are amazing.

Sarah Birgé

I lived in India for some time, and I would say that this place is the real deal. You're not going for the decor, but the service is quick and friendly, and the food is truly delicious, in addition to being very cheap. Highly recommended.

Christopher Peck

Competently prepared south Asian food. The chow-chow and thukpa noodles served do not resemble the menu photos, but the flavor is good. Tandoori sauce is thick and does not seem to include yoghurt; possibly this is how Nepalese prefer it. I recommend the curries, kulchas and paratha breads.

Caroline Quidort

Delicious! We got the chana masala thali lunch and the chicken curry thali lunch. Would definitely recommend!

Tamar Weisert

This was one of the most delicious Indian/Nepali dining experiences I’ve had. The quality of every dish was extremely high, the prices were very reasonable, and the wait staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Everything was fresh and came out in a timely manner. Highly, highly recommend!

Arun Nokia7

Kristopher O'Neill

Great, authentic, and inspiring food.

Gary Pasquale

I love the dumplings and their hot sauce oh my God is it hot different kind of hot I have not sweated like that in a long time

Steve Burt

Very good food. I'm getting into Nepal food.

Lisa Groeneveld

It was good! And the service was friendly. We'll definitely go back. Pro tip: while they're waiting for their liquor license, you can byob

Andrew Wright

I’ve been here three times now and it has always been great. The chicken curry is very flavorful if a bit mild. If you ask for it to be made extra spicy they will set you up! The chicken vindaloo is my new favorite, lots of flavor and has a good level of spice. The mixed momos are also an excellent supplement to the meals. The serving sizes may initially seem small but the ingredients are quality and it fills you up.

David Chen

Fantastic spot - the Momo's are some of the best dumplings I've had in recent memory. Great skin, sauce, and fillings.

Prajjwal Dangal

I wouldn't go there again and to say that the Paneer Matar I ordered was basic would be praising the food.

Marko Polo

I won't go again

Dinesh Mamoria

Ok kind....Never try biryani.

Vladimir Chernov

Great food!

We often talk about our favorite restaurants in Boston - how the food has more life. Well we ordered takeout from Everest for the first time and it didn't disappoint. It reminded me of the best Indian meals I've had. The Chicken Tikka Massala, Chicken Tikka, and Naan are RIDICULOUS good. You pay a little more but its totally worth it, they do not disappoint.

Paul Borda

I hear the food is really good, but I wouldn't know. I went there last night with a party of five. After about 20 minutes from being seated, they finally brought us menus. We asked repeatedly if we could order which finally happened. After almost 30min of waiting they brought us two of the appetizers we ordered and then we waited more....and more. We kept asking where our food was and we were assured it would be right out. They did bring us two random dishes that we had not ordered and then we waited some more. After, more than two and a half hours (!) we finally gave up and went out for burgers across the street. To their credit, they only charged us for the mango lassis we got, but I'll never go there again, not without a tent and sleeping bag, anyway.

Matthew Whitham

Good food but terrible service. Took way too long for our food considering we were the only people there. Our waiter never asked us if we needed anything and forgot things that I ordered. I had to go up and ask for my bill. If I go here again I’m getting takeout.

Greg Schoppe

Every time I come to Everest I have a great time. The food is fantastic, the prices are great, and the staff are friendly. What more is there to say.

V Warfield

My favorite Indian restaurant within a two hour drive. Simple atmosphere, the staff are so friendly, and the food is excellent! Prices are fair. I highly recommend this place.

Kelvin Chan

I had dinner with other 3 friends. Good atmosphere and friendly staff. Tandoori chicken was tasty, lamb vindaloo was good too but a bit not spicy/hot enough. Portion was a bit small.

Jack McCourt

Ive been here 3 times and everytime it has filled me with tasty food and emotions. Its affordable and very quality, worthwhile ethnic food. My first trip here I was with my mother and we both got mango lassi's to start us off. We ordered 5$ vegetarian samosas and they came with a sweet sauce that complemented it perfectly. I orded the Lamb Korma, a curry with a puree of cashew and tasty spices, I dipped buttered naan bread we ordered in it and I was in paradise. The next time was just as enjoyable, we ordered the delicious mango lassi drinks again. Though tbis time I ordered a normal lamb curry that was a bit more traditional and spicy but very packed with yummy flavors. We got things similar to samosas that dont have wheat in them and were orange/red on the outside. The last time ive gone so far, (tonight. the picture is from this time) we got many dishes and shared them instead, family style. Very much to my satisfaction they accommodated and brought out additional anything needed, they were more than happy to let us split dishes. I mafe my friends try the mango drink, they loved it. They tried the lamb korma i got the first time and dipped the delicious naan bread in it, needless to say, they rejoiced at their blooming tastebuds. We all tried some of the tandoori chicken, a interesting style chicken dish. We got chicken samosas this time and a few other dishes to share among us. The bill was less than 55$! And we were stuffed, after a long day of biking no less! The waiters and all general staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, I felt like I was dining at a friends house this last time, im truly satisfied. Thank you Everest Indian Nepalese Resteraunt! 5 out of 5 stars! 5/5!

Lori Smith

Hub and I have been there twice now, and we agree this is the best restaurant in Vermont. We don’t know much about this type of food and just ordered what sounded good. My favorite is the Chicken Saag and the Chicken Biryani. Make sure you order a Mango Lassi.

Steven Davis

Authentic cuisine with flavorful recipes... robust spice combinations. Their menu has a nice mix of traditional Indian dishes such as Malai Kofta, Pakora, and Tandori with many out of the ordinary Himalayan dishes. Atmosphere is nothing special (think typical pizza place) , but the great food, ultra friendly waitstaff, and modestly priced menu make it satisfyingly delicious dinning experience. Will definitely be going back many times in the near future.

Mohammad Ghouse

Neat and nice place. Staffs were very polite and good

Lori Schneider

Everything very fresh and cooked to perfection. Very courteous service.

Jenna Thweatt

I ordered my food online and it was ready before the estimated pickup time. When I arrived it took a bit for then to find my order, but they were prompt to help. I realized I was missing 1 of the items I had ordered, which, again, wasn't great but they got a freshly cooked order in right away. Overall it took me longer than I expected, but the food is great! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for great Indian food!

Sourav Mukherjee

Momos/dumplings are very authentic.

Ethan Hammond Fortune

Everest is the perfect place if you are looking for Nepalese/Indian food!

Sandra Prytherch

Delicious.

Margaret Gilman

Best Indian/Nepali food in town. Fresh and made to order. Parking too. Good location.

Abilene Smith

Amazingly delicious! I've had Indian food in Washington DC and Detroit, but this little restaurant in VT was the very best I have ever tasted. I tried the vegetable momo, nann thali, mango lassi, and garlic naan. All perfectly seasoned and excellent portion sizes. They are going through growing pains, so you will have to be patient for service. They are very kind and friendly, but still figuring out how to manage the kitchen, front of the house, take out and cash register all at once. We waited 2 hours for our food and it came out dish by dish, not all at once. Other patrons came and left without food because the wait was so long. If you're not in a hurry, it's definitely worth the wait!

Patti Cook

Food and sauces were flavorful & pretty delicious, but all the portions were VERY small—for example, goat curry had 3 small bones of goat without any meat on them at all, chicken dish only had a couple tiny bite size pieces of chicken, and only 2 samosas in order. Overall, expensive for what you get. Spent $70 & barely fed 3. Might try again but not likely. Wish it had been better since we were excited to have Indian place in south burlington.

Ryon Frink

Do not miss the veggies, paneer, and chicken rolls.

newly_wavy casey

Went with 3 others. We all had something different and everything was delicious! Chicken samosas were to die for, and are huge! Friendly staff and clean restaurant.

The food I have ordered for is appetizer and asked for dry. What they have is hard rock which u need hammer to break. Pathetic service and food. Its not worth a money pls try something else.

Erin McDonnell

I found the food to be very salty. This may be personal preference. The naan was great!

Ben O'Neill

The food is great and worth the wait.

Matt Grev

This is the best Indian food in Vermont in my opinion. This is a new restaurant and all i can say is i wish it had been here sooner.

JB

Wonderful food and friendly service.

Troy Frostad

The food was just ok. The tandoori chicken was decent but the shrimp biryani was not very good at all. It appears to be white rice and shrimp mixed with some powdered spices, mixed and warmed in a microwave oven. Much better options for this type of food in the area.

Carrie Rigoli

Great food and good prices

Meghan McCormick

I was hoping for great food, but everything was super salty and tasted the same. It made me worried they are using msg. I couldn't really taste the Indian and Nepalese spices that I love so much.

Maranda Nielson

Unfortunately, we have had issues every time we have ordered from here. Our order has been wrong every time we have ordered takeout. This last visit we made sure to double check our order and was told that everything was correct only to find it was still wrong when we got home. We typically order the Chicken Tikka Masala. It wasn't very flavorful and had no spice. The garlic naan was good.

Malina Kirn

Wonderful, strong flavors. Tandoori chicken is moist, Naan is soft, Thali sauces are very flavorful. Best Nepalese I've ever had.

Ossian Riday

Best Indian food in the Burlington area. Stopped by late in the evening, never visited before, happy we did. The food was very good. Restaurant decor/ambiance could use a little work.

Matthew Johnston

Excellent food. Great, REAL Nepali food (and other Indian standards) and genuine, caring staff. A fantastic addition to the culinary landscape in Burlington!

Phil Kmetz

The waitstaff was friendly and the food was a nice change of pace.

Valerie D

Excellent food, friendly staff and quick service. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant! My go-to for nights I don't want to cook. Must try: Saag Paneer, Mango Lassi, Thukpa soup, Vegetable Pakora

Kristin Silverman

How was the food here? I don’t know because I never got to try it. This restaurant is clearly not ready for customers. Arrived to find the restaurant about 3/4 full. No sign of any host or server. When one finally came out, she ignored us during the time she was on the floor. The second time we were able to ask whether we should seat ourselves or wait. She gave us menus and seated us (just two of us) at an 8-top. After 20 minutes, no one had come to take our order, check on us, etc. But that wasn’t the worst part of it. The worst was all the other very frustrated, angry customers surrounding us. I watched three separate customers stand at the door to the kitchen so they could get the server’s attention! They had to basically pounce on her because if they waited at their table, they would be ignored. My husband thought he heard the table of four saying they had been there for more than an hour. They received some dumplings, but then the waitress came out and asked them what they had ordered! We took that as our cue to leave (without even the chance to order). After leaving, we saw another frustrated, angry set of customers leaving, and also read some reviews from customers who waited two hours and never received their food! If I ever go back, I’ll revise my review, but this restaurant needs a ton of work! I’ve never encountered such a failure of restaurant service. The food looked good from the little I saw of it. (Only about 2 out of 10 tables had food. The others were all waiting and waiting.)

christopher heck

The food was amazing! Very kind people and great service!

Alan Vick

We had a great meal.

Doris Grippin

This is the best place for fresh tasty Indian food!

kunal chaudhary

Totally pathetic food it does not taste Indian at all and is far fetched from being close to Nepalese flavour. The only thing you can smell in all the curries is garlic. It has no flavour to it. To top it all i placed an online order, reached home and realized the order is not complete. Called the restaurant back and did not receive any refund for the missing items. Would recommend other Indian restaurants in Burlington down town they are way better than this one.

Jaye Secor

Great food & excellent service

Akash

This was a good experience for my family and I. The food was outstanding and I could not stop eating.

Jean White

The food is fantastic. Had Veg Korma, yellow lentil dal and veg dumplings. They were all full of rich, authentic spices and wonderfully balanced flavors. So happy to have a reasonably priced place that has fresh, interesting food. We need a place like this and I really hope they are here for a long time. I’m vegetarian and there were so many outstanding choices. This is my new favorite place. Love it!!!

Meaghan Kelley

Delicious! I had the lamb curry lunch combo which comes with naan and a dessert and got the chicken samosas. Everything was great! We will be coming back!

Jacob Moore

I Absolutely love this new restaurant. I went on the Grand opening day and it was a tad disorganized and chaotic, but the food was really good and fairly cheap for the types of food they are serving. I strongly recommend going to this place. I think I found a new favorite place to eat.

Allison Dandurand

Everest is one of my favorites for takeout. They have great selection of both classic and original Indian dishes with incredible flavor, and the staff are always friendly. It’s also inexpensive, which I like!

Farha A

I ordered a main dish and an appetizer. The main dish came about 10 minutes before the appetizer. The food was OK but the portion was really small comparing to the price. I ordered chicken tikka masala and it had a lot of sauce with some tiny pieces of chicken. No one even bothered to ask me how everything was (it wasn’t packed). It was my first visit and also the last.

Jamie CG Gay

Best Indian in Chittenden, hands down. The dal tadka and chicken vindaloo hit the perfect note of spicy enough to feel it, but not so spicy as to overwhelm all of the carefully-layered levels of flavor. They were very friendly in helping me find dishes I could eat around my allergies (gluten and dairy). I've gotten two or three meals out of each dish (supplementing my own rice after running out of what they gave me.) Great place, will be going back regularly.

Don't let the simple decor put you off; the food and service are spectacular. From the luxurious mango lhasee to the perfectly baked paneer kulcha, dining is a gustatory transport. Your first visit won't be your last.

Julia Hoover

Great food, great service, reasonable cost, what more could you ask for? It isn't the same old thing, and there's a ton on the menu. I will go back.

Deepti Garg

Very bad service we waited more then an hour to get dinner they served but it was wrong without naan or even plates we waited 15 more min to get bread and plates. We had to leave because after 1.5 hrs we did not had naan and plates on table. We left the dinner even without dinner.

Youssef Meskani

This was my first time getting food from this place. Amazing food and very hospitable people. I got off work at 11 p.m and went there to get Chicken Bryani because they are open until 11:30 pm. Try it and you won't regret it. Delicious food!

joe carroll

Delishes food. Service was good. It's BYOB, so the bill wasn't too high. The decor though was more like cafeteria than fine dining.

Nicholas Mellish

Went there for lunch on Friday and was seated and given water 10 min later got menu with in 45 minutes 4 parties came in and got menus right away and was ordering food and I am still waiting 45 minutes later I walked out will not be back . Poor customer service.

Kevin Henrichs

Best butter chicken around, hands down. And the garlic Naan.

shirish kulkarni

We were party of 8. Came down for lunch. Food was very ordinary and service was poor.

Carmen George Weddings

BLAND FOOD AND POOR SERVICE We had Samosas. They were bland. They need some cumin or curry...something to give them some flavor. One of our two main dishes was the Vegetarian Thali. It included a sampling of six dishes that were bland but had good texture. My dish was Goat Vindaloo was all bones and the sauce tasted like tomato paste with brown sugar. It tasted like too intensely of tomato. It could have used vindaloo curry paste, onions and ginger. They forgot our nan bread. I reminded them twice. They brought it when our meal was almost over. The person who brought the bread to the table was someone from the kitchen. I showed that my goat dish was all bones. She explained they received very boney goat meat this week. She offer to give me lamb. The lamb was cooked nicely however the sauce was overloaded with all spice. After we finished our meal they brought out another dish of nan, looked confused then left. The wait staff was nice but communication between them and the kitchen was lacking. They need experienced help. The best food and service for Napali/Indian is Sherpa Kitchen in Burlington.

Antigone Eriksen

The food was excellent. A good variety of dishes on the menu. Service was attentive but not intrusive. We will definitely be back!

The food tastes good , my parents from India appreciated it.

Henry Haller

Chicken Korma and Garlic Naan are great!

Man Rai

I order the it from dash door app and I’m nepali the amount of food that I receive was not something that I expected it’s was way to little And the salt/ oil oh man don’t talk about it basically they don’t know how much amount of the salt is the good. I feel like I wasted $55 dollar in this restaurant for the trashy food that I ever had in my life. I’m Nepali and this restaurant is the shame to the community man

D. Lafoy

Had vegetable Thukpa, Chicken Hakka noodles, Special Nepali Chatpata, garlic naan, and Masala tea. Every dish was amazing and served by the cook. My wife and I will definitely be back as this is our new favorite place, open only a month at this writing. Don't miss trying this incredible find!

Cynthia Gray

We discovered this place by accident yesterday. It's only been open for a few days now, but it's the best Indian food we've had in this area. We had the lamb curry and chicken tikka masala. The meat quality was excellent, and the portions generous. I also loved their mango lassi.

Shiva Ho

Had lunch of a Chicken Tika Masala wrap & Chicken Tika Masala with rice. Excellent Food!

Walker Harris

Very friendly staff and great food

Robin Earle

The food is absolutely fantastic, and it's made quickly, too. If you're ordering online, make sure they're open first, because the online ordering system doesn't go inactive when the restaurant is closed.

Chris MacDonald

Peter Henne

Got takeout recently. The meat was overcooked, the sauces bland, and the portions tiny. That'd be ok if it was cheap, but the entrees were all 12-14 dollars, which definitely wasn't worth it.

Zackariya Choudhury

Lee Chung

Had a great time getting a late lunch I recommend the mutton thali and momos

Sarah West

Delicious, authentic curries for a good price!

Niranjan Murali

Terrible food. Got our appetizers after our entrees and then they tasted bad as well.

David Sears

Good chiken curry, dal and naan and quite a popular place. It seems to be possibly authentic food and family run but they need to work on their service.

vmh104

Stupid place. Unable to take money for takeout while there computer was down.

Free Floating

Great place for delicious Nepalese food. Affordable too! Easy to identify vegan options on the menu because they are marked with a carrot. I recommend trying the buffalo cauliflower appetizer. So good!

Patricia Mcclain

Avi Cohen

Great food and service

Raven Dragonsong

I am sorry to express what a disappointing experience we had here. Appetizers served after the meal. Tea that tastes like hot watered tea. And no the food was in no way worth the 104$ price tag

The home where delicious foods can be found

The owner asked how everything was and she seemed genuinely interested in our input.
