I decided to try this place and I was disappointed. We went there on a hot day and found they didn't have air conditioning. Then we were shown a very limited menu of pricey dishes. We made our selections and ordered a bottle of wine. The wine was not cellar temperature. Instead, it was the temperature of the very warm dining room. Our food was good but I thought the servings were small for the price. I don't plan to go here again.

We were visiting the area and found this Resteraunt via Google maps. The recommendations were good. It lived up to the good press. We enjoyed our meal. The service was friendly and knowledgeable. Food was tasty.

Went out for a Birthday dinner on a Wed. We sat at 7:00 - and there were 3 other couples as well. Felt like a private dinner, Chef came over to discuss dishes and the prep for them. We chose the Duck flatbread with goat cheese, others had onion soup and salads. Outstanding is a good way to describe the dishes. Entrees all were fresh, hot and seasoned perfectly. Real nice for the price.

I don't think I have ever visited a friendlier and more accommodating restaurant. Despite a relatively large menue, they were happy to do all the alteration I asked for. Their "special for two" comes with a bottle of wine, your choice of red or white. I would have a tough time to believe you wouldn't be happy here. The prices are surprisingly fare consider the large portions and the elegant service. Yes, I will send my friends there.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!! I am food snob from New York where the food is delicious no matter where you go. When I first moved to Vermont I would only order burgers if I was out to eat(its a guaranteed decent meal up here). I desperately tried so many different restaurants in hopes someone out there could serve me a dish that I couldn't cook better myself.... I have found that here! One night my boyfriend and I were looking for a place to eat, saw a little sign out on the curb and decided to go in and give it a try. I will definitely go back again and again... and again! Thank you Blue Moose Italian Bistro for restoring my faith in chefs in Vermont!!

The pasta didn't taste like anything and none if it was made with care. I'm not sure that there was anything that wasn't from a can or a box. The menu was a dirty, crumpled piece of printer paper. The service was lovely and the reason for a star.

Dined at the Blue Moose in April during a weekend getaway in Brattleboro. Absolutely loved it! Delicious meal all around. Loved it so much decided to travel back to VT from Jersey for my birthday dinner next month. That's how much it wowed me.

This place was pretty average. It started off a bit rocky with the service. The waitress was very friendly and was trying, but she needs some basic lessons in order to do her job a bit better. You don't sit a table and then go off to take another table's orders before you bring over menus to the table you just sat. Again, she tried, but little things like that happened all night. The food was about the same. A few things were really good (the bread, butter, salad), but others were just acceptable (my main dish, chickpea fries). I did really like my salad, but it also would have been difficult to get wrong. The main dish is what really bothered me. I ordered parmesan polenta with a short rib something. If the meat was short rib, I didn't recognize it. I have never had short rib cooked this way, and there is a reason. It was tough, and chewy, when it should have fallen apart. The polenta also showed a lack of ability/experience - it was dry and congealed into a blob of jelly. Overall, I was obviously underwhelmed. I will say that the prices were pretty decent considering what they were going for, but they ended up being high based on the actual delivery.

Ordered the risotto, duck and salmon to share between two people. The risotto was a pool of cheese sauce with rice floating in it. My girlfriend described it as food you could expect from a high end nursing home. We ate half of the salmon and didn't touch the risotto or duck after a bite each. No one asked if there was a problem with the food. If you like creamy comfort food this is the place for you. If you like fresh, high quality ingredients then steer clear.

Blue Moose is a perfect date night venue. Ken, the head chef, makes all the pasta from scratch. That makes a big difference in taste! If you go on a weekday, you can get a house bottle of wine, 2 apps, 2 entrees and 1 dessert for $50! Food is always phenomenal and wait staff is always very friendly. Would absolutely recommend if you’ve never been here before!

I would say that the food here is mediocre. They have nice comfort food, but there isn't a main plate technically. The menu is really just pasta and salad. However, the deserts are outstanding. The cappuccino panna cotta is one of the best I've tasted. The restaurant opens at 5 pm and closes at 8, but they'll probably won't let customers in last minute. It's located right across the Latchis theater and you can park down the street.

We're from out of state and found this cafe online by chance online when we were looking for a place to eat in town-- the Blue Moose is super cute, with a comfortable atmosphere and the friendliest staff I've ever met. They showed us a really lovely evening. I ordered the Chicken Zia Rose, which was simple and very tasty. Thank you, Blue Moose!

Pleasant surprise on the great food in this little casual bistro. The chef definitely knows what he is doing. My fiancé and I had the pork steak and a special on swordfish and it was beyond our expectations. The pork steak was thick, tender and seasoned well. The sword fish is chewy, almost like a steak, it was cooked perfectly. Their waitress was great in service as well. Will definitely go back and recommend to others!

If you're looking for high quality local food, I high recommend going here. The staff is wonderful and will cater to your specific needs. You will never get processed food here either which is big for me. They have a small kitchen so you're meal takes extra time but you can't rush perfection!

This place is INCREDIBLE... the food is so succulent, delicious and amazing. The wonderful chef is very personable and will come to your table to greet you and talk about the food. It is absolutely the BEST restaurant in Brattleboro. And there are many good ones. But blue moose is the BEST.
