I've been to the Middlebury Hearth before for the bar, which is great, but never to eat. I usually go to the Hearth in Burlington for that. We gathered at the Middlebury location to celebrate a co-worker's 21st birthday. We were not a small group (their was about 18-20 of us) and they had no problem accommodating us, we did call a day ahead though. The ambiance was great, the food was awesome but there were a few glitches with the drink orders, do yourself a favor and order directly from the bartender. Other than that the service was fast and friendly. A fun evening was had by all thanks to American Flatbread.

Always wanted to try this place and it didn’t disappoint. They accommodated our order for pickup and we had the salad and one of their flatbreads on the menu. It was delicious. We’re from out of town and honestly I’d drive back today to eat it again if I could. Love where it’s located too, in the marbleworks section. Tucked away and lovely scenery.

We had our rehearsal dinner at American Flatbread, and couldn't have been happier with our experience. The staff were incredibly accommodating, and served our large group on a Friday night during Jazz Fest with the attention of a small party dining in an empty restaurant on a Tuesday. My second time eating and having a few of their beers with my family and its great every time. My favorite thing besides the food is the no cell phones sign! Love that! Its a good reminder to turn it off and be with who you are with, and if alone people watch and decompress. The pizza is awesome, so fresh and local ingredients. The huge pizza over in the main restaurant is fun to watch. I highly recommend especially if you want relax with kids and sip a beer or 2. Kid friendly, with mini pizza games and crayons and paper to keep them busy. My kids are 12 and still want to play pizza party lol Fun for all! Enjoy!

Always a great place to eat! Our favorites are Conehead on tap, the Evolution salad with VT chevre or bleu cheese and a Punctuated Equilibrium pizza. Sitting close to the pizza oven is especially nice on a cold day.

Fantastic. This is such a nice place in location and atmosphere. This is a flatbread style pizza, not a NY style. You can make a variety if pies or select special ones and even fo half and half which 8s a great option. Salads very good, cinnamon. Buns weekends only are great, soups usually good and if you drink a wide select of beers and some brewed right there. In good weather a nice outdoor seating area too.

I get the frozen Revolution American Flatbread Pizza from Hannaford in Rutland VT. The only pizza I eat. Thaw it for 30 minutes. Oven for 8 minutes on rack. Honestly. Some crushed red pepper flakes and a little fresh garlic. Epic!!!!

Great good, though service is really slow. The waitresses seem lost at times, somehow amateurish. Took nearly 1 hour to bake our pizzas, and that seemed a little too long. In any case, the pizzas were impeccable, crust was super tasty and the flavors were amazing.

Maybe it was an off day and a busy night for the establishment but we had to wait for 45 minutes for a small flatbread even when we came in at 9 PM in the night. The server was attentive but the food took impossibly long to arrive. And at the end we waited a while for somebody to take away the card but ultimately ended up walking over to reception ourselves. The food itself wasn't anything to write home about.

YEE! This place is very great. The prices can be a bit steep, but it's pizza and flatbreads, a combo that works wonderfully in their favor. The food is very fresh and fired upon ordering, the beer selection rotates and they have a good mix of anything you might want. Prices could also be way steeper too. I love their Vermont Sausage pizzas. If you're in the mood for pizza and don't mind a bit more expense and wait to the other quick slice options you have in downtown Burlington, you should definitely check this place out!

A really fun and hopping place! Came here upon a fellow traveler’s recommendation while on a cross country skiing vacation. We had a table right in front of the pizza chefs. The young fellow who had the job of handling the pizza peel was like a dancer. It was fascinating watching how he effortlessly wielded the peel, placing the pizzas into the burning hot oven, rotating them, and taking them out at exactly the right moment. He did this for an entire hour seemingly without stop. The pizza was great and our waitress was lovely. Will make this a must place to eat if we travel to Middlebury VT again.

Wenn man zu zweit ist, dann lohnt es sich eine Vorspeise zu teilen, wir hatten die mit den Housecrackers und den Oliven, es war hervorragend! Die Pizza kann man dann zu zweit auch bedenkenlos teilen, wobei man zwei verschiedene Sorten aussuchen kann. If you have celiac disease, rest assured, American Flatbread can safely serve you a delicious pizza. I am generally terrified to eat out, for fear of getting gluten-contaminated food. I have eaten at Flatbread dozens of times, and I have never been sick. They have a dedicated preparation area for anyone with celiac, so there isn’t a risk of cross-contamination. They are my go-to every time I’m in the Burlington area. Everyone loves pizza, and it’s always a good time.

Myself and my boyfriend went for a dinner. We are new to town visiting for holidays. The reception lady took us to a desk and we noticed nobody cared to light the candle. I gave them the benefit of doubt that they forgot considering every other desk had a candle lit and not being we are Indians. But nobody cared. I wouldn't visit again. Learn your manners folks. This is not cool. As for food we had half n half cheese and herb and equilibrium and it was okay. Just couldn't taste the goat cheese. I love goat cheese but it just didn't click on this one. The IPAs were good. All in all just didn't felt welcome.

Here is where I ate the BEST pizza I've ever had in my entire life. My boyfriend and I are from PA and big pizza lovers but I've never had pizza like this before. We ordered "NEW VERMONT SAUSAGE" and omg we couldn't stop talking about how incredible it was. Every ingredient tasted so fresh and full of flavor, the pizza wasnt greasy but also wasnt dry either- it was just perfect. I usually dont like/eat all the pizza crust but I ate every bite of this pizza. The crust was the perfect amount of crispy/doughy. We didnt feel sluggish after eating almost the entire large pie, we felt good like we had energy to keep exploring and walking around the town. Our waitress was super friendly too, she seemed really happy to be working there- think her name was Katie. In our seats we were able to watch the pizza being made right in front of us in the brick oven which was fun. Also we had no wait time to be seated at 6pm, granted it was a Monday night lol. If we ever return to Burlington we will surely be back for this pizza!

Don't get me wrong, flatbread has some of the best pizza I've ever eaten. However, the last time I went, I decided to try the "Balsalmic popcorn". To my dismay, the waitress brought us a tiny bowl (probably 10 pieces) of old, stale, and inedible salty popcorn. This cost $2. So disappointing... The pizza itself was really really good, just wish I didn't feel ripped off the whole dinner about the "Balsalmic popcorn."

One of the best restaurants that I have ever visited in USA. Italian style pizzeria and serving staff are great! We had nice table just front of the big oven and kids enjoyed the moment. The fresh salade with goat cheese are so delicious too. We had 3 kinds of different pizza and some local ale beers. Just visit there and taste them!

I was visiting Burlington because I really wanted to see it and I'm glad this is where I went for lunch!!! I ordered the "Power to the people" which was a buffalo chicken flatbread pizza!!! If not the best, it was one of the best buffalo chicken pizzas I've ever had!! If you're visiting Burlington or live there and haven't been her for some reason, check this place out!! It's prices are reasonable and the staff is great!!

Stopped in at 3:30pm on a Friday afternoon for a beer and a bite. The full kitchen wasn't open which was a disappointment (flatbreads at 5, soup and salad until then), but I decided to stay for a beer. The peach sour was worth the hunger struggle. I'll be back to try it again - I'm sure it's a great place and I understand the pain of keeping a kitchen open off-hours, but it was rough to not have a more robust food option in the thick of a beautiful afternoon.

We enjoyed our time. The two.of us, being moderately hungry, split a large pie and had two pieces left. Very flavorful. Our waitress was kind, informative and helpful. The on tap local beer was great. I'm not a fan of IPA and there were several solid non-IPA choices. We liked the lightly smoke tinged atmosphere from the Woodfired oven. The dining area is not well lot which is nice. But if your vision is waning as ours is, don't forget your readers!!

I was happily surprised by this place. The pizzas were fresh and hearty and for a good price. I split two large pizzas with 3 friends and we had enough for everyone to get their fill. This place gets packed on the weekends, especially for dinner, so try to go on a weekday. The atmosphere is cozy and historic. Definitely a place to try at least once, although the pizza will probably get you to return again.

It could not be more clearer than 5 stars! This place is so authentic and amazing that there is no other place in Burlington that is so great at what they do and how they treat customers. Their pizza is just out of this world, just legendary, especially the Equilibrium! Every person that wants to experience Vermont food should come to the American Flatbread. American Flatbread Burlington Hearth was a nice place for lunch , the pizza was really flat bread , one of the option there is to order half and half pizza , so you can choose two pizzas but in one dish. So , please make sure that you order 2 pizzas or 2 pizzas half and half. I orders 2 small pizzas but they bring it. One pizza half and half. For half and half if you are two I suggest the large size. The taste of pizza was good, Salad taste was really interesting , you can also order there different kind of drinks , alchoholic and non-alcoholic and also they serve desserts. There is no special parking lot , you should Park in the street and pay for parking. Burlington is famous for the cheeses so choose a pizza and salad with different cheese , I tried salad with blue cheese and it was really good. You can pay by credit card or cash . For credit card they will autorize your card and you can add tip amount on your receipt and sign it.
