Great tapas restaurant. We had the falafel which was one of the best I've had. The street food tofu was spicy but had a wonderful flavor. The fish of the day wasn't the greatest, but we are from Florida so we are spoiled. We really liked it here and would definitely eat here again.

After we left Boston, we missed our favorite restaurants. This restaurant is the best we found during our two month of travel. The place is beautiful inside, but casual attire is appropriate. The food was amazing, and surprisingly inexpensive for the quality: around $20 for the entree and $7-14 for smaller plates. In Boston it would be twice the price!

Absolutely fantastic restaurant! Aaron was our server. He was super attentive, but not too much and we never felt rushed and we were there 2 hours!! We got the foraged mushrooms, the artichoke and mushroom toast, the wings (OMG), the duck and the chefs special. Everything was PHENOMENAL!! Great food. Great local beer. The food for the table comes out as it is ready, versus at the same time, so you need to savvy on ordering. The staff can be very helpful in pacing your meal. Your individual meal will consist two or more small plates, per person, that are meant to be shared between all. Keep ordering until you are all satisfied. If you have not dined this way before, you are missing out on a wonderful experience. Meals are meant to be shared between family and friends.

This is a gem of a restaurant. Right outside Zion, it is worth making a stop in Kanab for Sego. The plates are delicious, original, and comforting. The restaurant does not lie when talking about modern American cuisine! The desserts are out of this world. The prices are fair and the service is caring and warm. Let me start with all the good stuff. I want you to come here. The food is consistently excellent. The flavor profiles match half the trendy farm to table places in the country. They cover several of the most trendy ingredients. I know I'm making it sound hum-drum, but don't take it that way. This place matches most anything in Salt Lake City. It could survive in big markets. It's better than you would expect in Kanab. The room is very classy, historic styling, comfortable. There is a nice patio for when weather permits. Now the problem area that keeps the final star from being an option. They seem to have decided each server gets random tables all over the restaurant. Our server had three tables in far corners of the restaurant, and another one on the patio. Really. It certainly gives her a nice workout over the evening. It doesn't give her time to watch her tables close enough to keep up to date on what customers need. That, however, is not the biggest issue. The food is delivered in the most infuriating pacing, and order. On our first visit, we worked with the server to pick 4 plates. He suggested an order to eat them. We had 5 minutes, or so, with the cocktail. Then the food started showing up. Before we finished the cocktail, and the wine was poured, ever single course was delivered, in the wrong order. You would have thought they were trying to turn the table from start to finish in 30 minutes. This time around, we order as an appetizer, a seafood, a meat, and a starch. We asked for the seafood before the meat, and the starch would be best if it came out with the "entrees". Nope. We got the starch by itself 20 minutes before any entree. It really impacts the enjoyment of the meal. If would be nice if they watched the one small square plate they give you to eat your shared plates from. After several courses, you have to ask for them to be replaced, even though it is pretty obvious they should be. When desert came, we got one dinner fork and one salad fork. They both work, but it's not very professional. If they can get the back of the house working with the front of the house on food delivery, it's going to be a seamless, and excellent, experience. On our first visit, we ended up talking a little with the table next to us. First, a couple from Brooklyn. Second, a couple from Guangzhou China. They were all impressed with the food.

Thanks to Google maps, we stumbled upon this place as we were driving from the Grand Canyon back to Mt Carmel Junction. What a nice surprise! The atmosphere is very pleasant and unhurried. The food is tapas style, and a very welcome break from the standard burger and pizza joints. I recommend stopping in! Enjoy!

The food has so much flavor and variety along with being refreshing. We had a hard time choosing what to eat, but of course everything was beyond tasty. The kitchen made our two kiddos their own sides so the hubby and I had free reign to choose what we wanted. I just wished this place was closer to our home in Seattle! We were staying about 30 miles north and there were only two restaurants around us. Therefore, we drove 35 minute south to try this place out. Food was very good but portions are smaller. They do tell you that the meals are meant to be shared between your groups but I was surprised by the size of the portions in comparison to the price. The food was very delicious and if you know that going into it then this is the place for you. We were outside and the view is amazing as the town of Kanab is surrounded by mountains.

We decided to have a nice meal before we left Kanab. I had read the reviews on this place and decided to give them a shot after a local cafe owner recommended it. We had a party of six and were initially turned away due to us not having reservations and a prior party did. Thankfully, Aaron was able to make it happen. The waitress was tentative and helpful. We had a lot of dishes, most notable was the poke salad and the beef filet. Wow, the filet was really tender and well prepared and my wife loved the poke salad. The prices are moderate, but well worth it, I highly recommend it!

This place was really slow in service, it took over 40 minute to get a drink! They serve small plates(tapas), but it seemed very expensive. The beer was pretty week and the wine was like sugar. Probably should have given them more of a chance but with the prices and the time it took to get a beer, we left and went somewhere else.

We recently held our 40th anniversary celebration with 10 adults including ourselves with our children and their companions and.... 10 grandchildren all under the age of 11. Isaac was point person to take care of the small mass of humanity, but he was supported by many other kind and caring staff. I have eaten here on other occasions with small groups and the service and quality of food are always exemplary. This visit was no exception. They were sensitive to hungry little ones and were quick to bring food to appease their needs, never giving them time to let out a whimper or whine of their hunger. Chef Shon and his crew provide the best variety and quality of food I have ever eaten at a restaurant.

Love this place! The food is not only fantastical! There are also so many choices to pick from. It's not conventional as well, which really adds a uniqueness to it. And if the food isn't enough reason to come, then go for the staff! They are so friendly and really treated us like family. If you haven't tried this place yet, please stop by. You won't be disappointed.

Tapas style, (you share what you order) and are recommended to try 3 to 5 items between two for dinner. Their food is excellent, I enjoyed the perfect scallop. They strive to find locally sourced ingredients if possible. They also feature a good variety of wine and beer to go along with your meal. Definitely worth a try on your way through Kanab, I recommend them to anyone who enjoys excellent food in a warm inviting atmosphere, must I mention the incredible countertops inside light from underneath? Go stop by, try everything, it's a must!

My experience here was absolutely delightful. Each and every one of the staff were kind, prompt, accommodating, and incredibly professional. The hostess was a delight to chat with as she knew the history of the building, the restaurant, the amazing art, as well as the beautiful custom (lit) bar inside. (She was shorter with blonde hair.) Our waiter, whose name I cannot recall (bless my heart), was professional, witty, and very fun to speak with. His recommendations from the menu were 100% spot-on and each dish was customized to our liking, which can be very obnoxious... He handled our requests with no hesitation and delivered our meal(s) in an extremely prompt manner. (Taller guy, darker complexion, darker hair color.) Our bartender, Sara, delivered her fantastic hand-crafted drinks to our table which I *never* see in the restaurant industry anymore. The drinks, by the way, were mind-blowing. All in all, this establishment blew my expectations out of the water and would highly suggest to anyone visiting Kanab. Thank you everyone for the phenomenal experience!

This amazing restaurant was such a wonderful surprise on the small town of Kanab. A big city menu with an excellent chef using local ingredients to produce incredible food. We tried about 6 small plates, dessert and several cocktails. Everything was delicious and beautiful. Each small plate was so good that we could not decide which was our favorite. We talked to the chef about how much we enjoyed everything. He was gracious and appreciated our positive feedback. Sego is located in a charming hotel and has wonderful ambiance, great service and great food. We recommend it highly!

Best meal I've had in Utah. The Korean beef was amazing but my daughter got the fried rice and it was even better. Not cheap but well worth it for well thought out and executed food. Service was fantastic with friendly staff and a cool, hip environment that is expect in a larger city, not a small desert town in southern Utah. The prickly pear margarita was also very tasty!

Shared a lovely dinner here with my wife. Laurie provided us with very warm and welcoming service. We ordered the charsiu, the yellowtail, and the potatoes. All three had fantastic and creative flavors. For dessert we ordered the peach tart. It was really one of the best dessert I've ever had, fantastic textures and flavors. Great place for dinner

Amazing vibe, great service and spectacular food. The only critique would be that the Scallops and the accompanying risotto were a bit too salty. The rest of the order (Baked Brie, Seared Curry Ahi, Foraged Mushroom) were delicious! We stayed at the hotel, too and that was an experience in its own.

What a great night we had here! Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 Price: $$$ After a day of hiking at Zion we went back to the hotel to shower and check out restaurants for dinner on the wi-fi (Canadian data plans are not great). Sego was the first and most highly-rated suggestion that came up so we thought we'd give it a try, if not just for the craft beers. When we arrived we were greeted by a woman in a beautiful blue outfit, who turned out to be the owner of the local newspaper. She was effusive in her praise and was genuinely excited for us to try Sego for the first time, and so were we! The social sharing menu can be a little pricey, as they recommend 3-5 dishes for two people to share. Between food and drinks, we spent about $100 here. Between the character of the place, the quality of the food and drink, and the overall enjoyment of the night, we were blown away. Everyone should go to Sego.

This place is a unique find in a small town! Small plates consist of asian-inspired fusion dishes like pork belly and watermelon in a tamarind sauce, and rotating specials like the kogi bread and Mexican style streen corn. The staff is friendly and helpful with tips about the surrounding parks and tourist attractions, and the food is great for a group of 4 or more interested in sharing small/medium plates. Plates range in the $13-$25 dollar range (appetizer small plates are $5-$10), and it's nice to linger in the outside seating on a warm night.

This restaurant is a hidden gem. I didn't expect to find a newer style place in a small centre like Kanab but this place serves a great selection of tapas style plates. Friendly and cosy atmosphere as a dining room within a boutique Hotel, this reminds me of a European style Hotel rather than standard American fare. Good job.

Where we ever surprised to find a fine restaurant in Kanab, Utah. It is the best ever. They serve small dishes (tapas). The chief is devoted to his culinary craft. The is highly recommended. Fancy clothes not necessary. Actually for Utah, we were able to order alcohol. I had wine. They will serve you multiple times but only 5 oz at time. Good with me. Wine list was exceptional.

We stayed in Kanab for New Years and with all the great reviews decided to have our New Years dinner at Sego. When we made the reservation I added a note that my girlfriend was pregnant and had gestational diabetes So has a slightly limited diet... We had a GREAT meal - the food and the service were both excellent. And when it came time for dessert our server brought out a special low-carb, sugar-free dessert they’d made for her: an avocado cocoa mousse. Wow! Thank you all so much. Will definitely be back and tell others.

This place has completely gone downhill. There wasn't a single staff member over the age of 25 in the dining room, and the host was 15 at best. I was asked "what did you want again?" as I approached the host to be seated. After waiting with an empty glass for over 30 minutes and watching my server attend to every table but mine, I decided not to stay for dinner. I've received better service in a McDonalds. I made my reservation 2 months ago with the anticipation of having a wonderful experience as I did 3 years ago when I was last in Kanab. All I saw were a bunch of teenagers running around flustered. Where is the manager? For a Saturday night there should be someone seasoned running the floor, and a host with proper etiquette. Happy to spend my money elsewhere when I visit Kanab.

Go here now, honestly plan your whole trip around Chef Shon's restaurant you will not regret it. The passion he has for food come through in every dish and you can feel good energy through all of the amazing staff. I've eaten almost everything on the menu and will would struggle to make a recommendation as everything is fantastic. Be adventurous and just tell the kitchen to start bringing out dishes and you'll be in food Nirvana quickly.

Chef Shon and Jason have created an incredible dining experience. The atmosphere of the restaurant is cozy and upscale. We tried the charcuterie board, brie toast, poke salad, and lo mein duck. All delicious. The portions are smaller than average, and meant to be shared (3 dishes between 2 people is perfect). The prices range from about $5 (half portions) to $28. The service was exceptional. Ashley, our waitress, was very attentive the whole evening and talked to us about local hikes and things to do in the area. Definitely try the desserts (flourless chocolate cake, vanilla ice cream — both made in-house as is everything else on the menu), and don’t bother getting half portions on those! 100% recommend!

We rave about Sego, and everyone at our wedding raved about their food too! We asked Chef Shon to cater for our wedding and it was the best decision we made. From discussing what we envisioned, to visiting his restaurant, to devising a menu and then having him cater for our weekend wedding both nights -- wow! He made our experience warm and personal, and tailored everything to our budget and preferences. He highly values his customers and his staff which is so lovely to see. I can't recommend Sego strongly enough. Chef Shon and his Sego team are the foodie jewel of Utah.

Made a reservation for 5:30 PM on a Friday. They messed up my reservation and two other groups we knew. At the time there wasnt anyone else in the restaurant besides our 3 groups. They refused to seat us in the regular seating saying that they had reservations and there was nothing they could do but seat us into the overflow seating which was uncomfortable lounge seating or otherwise leave. The food was good even though the portion sizes weren't great for sharing and our group of 7 (15 total plate orders) still left feeling hungry. Service was good after initial issue with reservations but the restaurant did nothing to compensate for their issue with our reservations. I would have to say that no one within our group would ever go back. Overall the food was good and service was good but not something to go back for.

Sego was great! My husband and I ate there on the last night of our honeymoon and I am so glad we did! Everything we had was delicious and our server was so sweet and informative! The chef even came out to see how we liked everything and if we had any questions. The restaurant is a small plate restaurant or "tapas" so it is more of a social eating experience where you try many things and share them. My favorite dishes we tried were the scallops and the charcuterie board, both had such unique flavors. If you are looking for something different and tasty to eat definitely give them a try, they will not disappoint and are not like any other restaurant you will find in Kanab!

Wow!! This place was recommended by a server at a restaurant in Mount Carmel when we dined at his place. He did not steer us wrong! (Funny, we went to Sego the very next night and saw this young man there dining with his date. So you know he likes this place!) Our server was amazingly knowledgeable about the ingredients and preparation of dishes. She was a delight! We ordered the pork belly watermelon dish. Incredible explosion of flavors! Amazing - if it’s on the menu(seasonal) you must order it!! We ordered several small plates and shared. Loved them all! Not your run of the mill items. Very creative and very delicious. You better get reservations though. This place is popular!

We ate here by recommendation by the owner of Canyons Lodge (Travis) and everything was absolutely perfect. The atmosphere was so inviting, service was outstanding, everything was so flavorful. We tried avocado toast, pot roast (was on special) and the falafels. Portions were on the smaller side but we left satisfied. We also tried the blueberry sorbet and lava cake. Holly (our server) was diligent and sweet. Even the wine and tea were fantastic. We went back the next morning for breakfast. Also quite good.

This place is amazing overall. Went to the restaurant. The food is fantastic with a great variety. The waitresses, Ashley and Sammie were both wonderful. The tiny lobby really strikes you so I talked to Joy at the check in counter and queried her with questions about the place. They have 28 rooms, all of which are different. Completely Victorian style. She showed me one, pics attached, and it's amazing. So much so i got a room for the next night. She also showed me the one she reserved for me, suggested by her, and it's even more amazing then the first. The place is so impressive were going to drive up for a weekend and stay. And the rates this time of year are remarkable. My advice is don't stay anywhere else, period. Get a room and eat in the restaurant and you'll be very, very happy.

Sego has the best food in Kanab. If you are looking for a calm, unhurried atmosphere it is the place. Even when they are busy they do not rush you. And the food is the most carefully prepared. Kind place, great food.

Outstanding food and service; definitely worth the drive if you're staying near Zion National Park (i.e. once you're done driving Mt Carmel Hwy 9, just keep driving east and take 89 south). Everyone I interacted with (host, wait staff, etc) took care and pride in what they did, so I took their recommendation of the filet and the duck lo mein. The plates are medium sized share servings so 1 hungry person can take down 2 items. Both items were excellent; I'd even say better than many Michelin rated restaurants I've been to in major US cities. Highly recommend if you're even close to the area.

Chef Shon really knows his stuff. These tapas style dishes are amazing. You can't go wrong with the Ahi Tuna and Sego Noodles. Honestly, we have not had a bad dish here. Be sure to make reservations, phone or on line. The web site took us to the Open Table and reservations were a breeze.

Our family came to Kanab for the Balloons & Tunes Roundup and to celebrate my birthday. My husband found Sego Restaurant on google maps and made a reservation. Upon the arrival to the restaurant, the host directed us to our table and explained us how their menu was designed. Our server, Seth, was awesome. Food was delicious and the environment perfect. We highly recommend Sego Restaurant!

We really enjoyed our experience at Sego! After a long day of hiking at Zion, we just wanted to eat great food that was close to our hotel. We got there just in time to be seated within 20 mins. A lot of other people were turned away bc of prior reservations. The ambiance was also nice. We ordered the falafel, beet salad, noodles, and the baked brie toast. All of them delicious! Although the portion sizes are small, we didn't mind bc every dish was unique in it's own way. Our server was great and the host checked in on us multiple times to make sure everything was okay. We weren't expecting food so good in a tiny town, but we were pleasantly surprised and recommend it to everyone.

Good choice in a small town. We were there for the busy Thanksgiving dinner, and were grateful to be seated. Nice atmosphere. For fine dining, the flavors were just okay, but to be fair, they were serving a lot of people that night. I'll give them another try when I'm in the area.
