This Restaurant corresponds to the category of American restaurant.
Anna was the sweetest server - such a lovely restaurant with beautiful lighting. The portobello sandwich was full of flavor and just delicious. Can’t wait to come again.
This place was wonderful. Great service, great food.
Wonderful atmosphere. Warm friendly staff.
Really tasty Southwest Chicken Sandwich and good service.
Place was pretty great! Our server was awesome as well.
Good food, not great, but friendly and good service. Nice ambience but pretty noisy.
Consistantly delicious food. Pretty cool atmosphere. Although, it can get pretty loud during peak hours. Prices are also reasonable.
I go here with my grandparents a lot, so I’m biased, but the food is good quality and the employees are nice
Awesome Place. Loved it Like the Patio and Menu. Customer service was great. 5/5
Food just a little too out of the ordinary for my taste.
Great food.
It was alright. Not terrible, but nothing I'd wrote home about. Got the quiche and eggplant pasta. When your food description starts with bacon, I expect to find bacon. Marinara tasted a little like chefboyardee.... which isn't horrible when you are in the mood for some canned red sauce that can sit on a shelf for years and not expire.
Haven’t been here in a while so girlfriend and I decided to stop in. Place is awful. Food reminds me of something you’d get at a rest home. I ordered the sirloin steak and I think I could have made a better one in the microwave. Service was fine but food is a joke. Save your money.
I love to visit Red Butte and their sister restaurants. While Stella's is still my favorite, Red Butte takes a close second. My favorite is the pasta salad of the day on Friday. The Sunday pasta is good too, but I'm not a huge olive fan and it's a Greek pasta. I love the serlion sandwich. This is similar to the Hanger sandwich I love at Stella's but here it is served on a focaccia bread. Yum. Their French onion soup and house pasta salad are also amazing sides.
We were in the area and wanted to try something new. Very clean and welcoming. Seated quickly and given time to look over the menu. We were told the meatloaf is a popular selection. The wife got the roast beef sandwich. The sandwich was pretty good. Great flavor. The pasta salad is served cold and I thought a bit bland but good flavor. The meatloaf wasn't as good as I was hoping. The gravy, in my opinion, ruined the meal. The meatloaf itself was pretty good. The mashed potatoes were very good. The green beans cooked just right. That gravy just didn't sit right. Can't quite nail down what it is, but maybe too much sodium? Brown gravy at restaurants always make me scared and this was no different. Will we be back? I'd give them another shot if we are in the area. But won't make a special trip.
Food was very good and presentation was so lovely. Service was terrible. Our waitress went to lunch and no one checked on us. Went without drinks for quite a while. Everything we needed we had to wave our hands to get noticed.
The Bacon, Swiss, Zucchini and Mushroom Quiche that I had was surprisingly tasty. The price was very fair. Our server was friendly and attentive.
My salad was spot on, our waitress was very patient with my 1 year old wandering around.
Impressively diverse dishes, attentive service, and moderate prices will keep me coming back.
I was taken there for my birthday and we sat on the patio had extremely good service wonderful food. Crisp fresh lettuce, clean environment. it was a birthday I'll never forget.
Authentic Jewish deli in Utah....who would have thought possible? But here it is you will NOT be disappointed!
Consistently good just like the rest of The Pub group.
Wow! Creative food. Had the buffalo chicken sandwich amazing!
Food is good but not the fine dining they try to market/price themselves as. Desserts are great. Ambiance felt more like a diner than a cafe or nice restaurant
This restaurant has a loyal fan base. They are right about the southwest salad with herb, citrus vinegret dressing. It was wonderful. So was the chicken posole soup. The roast beef sandwich - not so much. The service was attentive and patient.
No good unless you believe blue cheese is the same as limp soggy onions
My wife and I met here in 2002. We have been going ever since. Great consistent food and service! The fish tacos are amazing!
It’s ok, but not worth it in my opinion. The food is alright. The service is fine.
Reliably excellent food, comfortable setting, great service and modestly priced. This resaurant has been open many years and it's still my go-to place for a great meal.
Fun place that has a hole in the wall feel with some good food. I would recommend the southwest chicken salad. Their enchiladas are authentic, so I like them, but they might not be what you expect in an enchilada taste. The service for me has always been great!
I had the salmon special and it was tasty. The salmon wasn't overcooked nor was it fishy. Great job.
Small portions, very noisy. When I go out with my wife I like to be able to have a conversation, but the place seems to be designed to be loud.
Great food and nice staff
Delicious. The service for Sunday dinner was a little slower than expected (it wasn't busy} but the meals and dessert were delicious with leftovers for the next day.
One of my fav locations for American food. I love it here. Looking forward to a return trip. This place has a great atmosphere. Feels similar to a cafe in Chicago I loved.
Good tasting, consistent quality food at a very reasonable price. They have a very selective menu most likely to appeal to many different palates. The dessert menu is fantastic. The French onion soup is an all time favorite of ours. Customer service is very good.
Michel was fantastic! She is the best.
Really enjoy this place. Great selection, amazing pasta.
Great food excelent service
Good food. Go for brunch
They always snatch my plate away before I'm finished.
Couldn't have been happier. I had Pepita Crusted Salmon with whipped yams and tomatillo sauce and cabbage slaw. A definite 10. Will go back. Maybe tomorrow!
The food was just okay nothing to brag about.
Sam is amazing! She made the experience with my wife and daughter memorable. We will definitely come back to eat and enjoy the ambiance. We got the soup of the day and the smoked tortellini salad and we loved it! This place is always a good bet for food and fun!
Love Red Butte Cafe food. Becca's service was impeccable!
We eat here often for consistently good food and excellent service. The desserts are especially good.
The food has always been excellent, however the service is really hit or miss. We ate here on a moderately busy Saturday night and the wait staff struggled to keep up and remain efficient. Some just seemed disinterested. We expected better on a Saturday night. Nevertheless still a great place to eat out in the neighborhood. The entrees are well prepared and change often to keep things interesting. I will still leave 4 stars because I feel it is unfair to rate a restaurant based solely off of individuals.
Your typical American diner food with some little high-end twists. They are reasonably priced, and the taste is quality. Its one of the better restaurants in the Salt Lake area that wont disappoint you when you look at the bill.
Tasty food assortment, great cakes, and a decent beer and wine selection. Decent size portions and options ranging from $10-$20 a plate. The buffalo shrimp entree was a unique combo that ended up being great. Definitely try the french onion soup!
The food was okay and the portions were massive.
Great food, nice atmosphere, good prices.
Don't listen to these fools giving this place anything less than 5 stars, it is absolutely amazing! Very good service, and the best buffalo chicken sandwich I have ever had! 10/10 would move from Colorado to Utah just for that sandwich if it was not a daily special. You need to eat here, now
Food and service is always good here.
Oh wow! I stopped after an appointment and was really hungry. I ordered salmon in garlic sauce. I'm always wary about seafood in utah but it was big, and moist, and fresh tasting, and cooked just perfectly.
Great food and desserts. Always a great "go to"
Very fresh and healthy food. Very nice atmosphere.
Our server was amazing, the pork scallopini i had was dry as was the Tiramisu cake. Other than that, it was an enjoyable dining experience.
Decent place to grab a bite. Warm and friendly with a nice menu selection.
Food was okay, the service wasn't.
Chicken salad sandwich was great, bacon cheese mac was fantastic, mini chocolate bundt cake horrible. Overpriced
Great place for a business lunch. It did get a bit crowded and noisy though. I had awesome tempura shrimp tacos with this Asian noodle salad that was terrific. The menu has lots of tasty and not too boring options but the flavors are pretty safe for those who aren't feeling adventurous. Fair price and quick service.
Great food and service.
food was really good. our server was not. I realize our experience matters more even if food is good.
Eggplant with pasta was really good
Most bland food, and the waitress I had with blonde hair was so rude. Any question I asked was followed with an attitude, and she was just cold and of no use. The pasta salad was old and dried out, and it was expensive! Would not recommend to anyone.
Steak sandwich cooked perfectly, clam chowder quote good. Desserts decadent.
Great, thoughtful and delicious daily specials! Try not to look at the desserts or you be getting one of everything!
Love the French onion soup and pasta salad combo for lunch
Excellent food and service! Restaurant was clean and decorated simply with seating inside or out. Portions of food we're plentiful and waitress and hostess we're friendly. Leave room for deserts as they all looked delicious.
A fav place for quality American food. Visited on Fri I believe. I've had nothing but great experiences here and will keep coming back. This place has a cool feel to it.
Diner quality food, service and atmosphere at a fine dining price point. Incredibly overpriced and overall very disappointing. So many great alternatives at that price, we definitely wont be returning.
Fun selection of food with nice presentation. Try the watermelon and shrimp salad with arugula. They do get busy.
Good food. Everything was properly prepared. Had the udon in miso dashi. Menu has a basic sandwich and Mexican theme with several original non Mexican choices for lunch and dinner. Does that make it eclectic? Fair prices.
Turkey avocado sandwich with the BEST pasta salad!
Consistent and tasty food. Been a customer for many years and there is always something good on the menu. The rare roast beef and swiss sandwich is always delicious, as well as their pasta salads. Tried the open faced steak sandwich for the first time and was blown away! Delicious and filling. They also have great iced tea which is a favorite of mine. Excellent selection of desserts as well.
Nice place! A bit more upscale than I expected (not a bad thing). Burgers were good and came with a healthy salad.
Great food for a good price! Wonderful service staff as well. The restrooms could use an upgrade and definitely something to help the smell in there please! Even when it's clean it's got a very unpleasant odor in there unfortunately! (Bath and body works has very nice wallflower plugins that are wonderful for this very problem!)
Sam is the best server in the industry! If you go to the Butte make sure you ask for her. You won't be disappointed!
Always a great place to catch a meal, food is consistently delicious and serve staff is prompt. Try the brussel sprouts with eggs for brunch.
This place should be a killer, but they are just letting it fall apart. Water problems, a leaking roof/ceiling in the main dinning area they haven't fixed IN A YEAR. Despite busy brunch crowds elsewhere, this place isn't busy. (So you'd think the staff could be more attentive.) Menu/food is showing it's age, kind'a bland. It's just ok. I don't think I'll be back anytime soon.
Such horrible service. Burger delivered without a bun? No condiments? I asked three wait staff for ketchup before it was delivered to cold food. This used to be a favorite, but it doesn't live up any longer. This is the second time I have been disappointed with the quality of service and food in the last few months. With so many new, good restaurants around, I won't be going back.
Love the food here. Everyone can get something. The service can be pretty bad sometimes especially when it is busy. Their specials especially their tacos are some of my favorites. Love the homemade house pasta.
Super busy and wait staff had a difficult time keeping up. But food was delicious
Always consistently great!
Late afternoon brunch on the deck was delightful.
The portobello mushroom sandwich is amazing!
We just had lunch there and I have to say what started out as a perfectly fine lunch became a very uncomfortable situation. Our waitress, Caitlin, was so completely rude when I brought to her attention that the glass I was drinking my water from had someones lip stick marks on the glass. Bright red lip stick clearly stuck to the glass in full lip form, I still want to vomit!!! I asked her for a new glass and she just must have wiped down the one I had just given her because she then brought back another glass with the same red lips on there, just faded. We then pointed it out to her again and she literally grabbed the glass and put it down on the table next to us hard enough that water splashed out of the glass. When she brought back the to-go cup of water, since we asked for the to-go specifically, she just places it, obviously annoyed, on the table and walks away completely snotty. Here is the kicker. Not once did she apologize or even acknowledge the fact that she had given me a dirty glass twice! She only then had a running joke between her and the other waitress, Sam, who kept looking at our table laughing while our waitress was clearly annoyed and voicing her opinion as we watched from our table. I will never frequent a restaurant that employs people like Caitlin and Sam. It speaks volumes of what goes on behind the scenes if this is what happens right in front of you. Absolutely disgusting the service and the glass.
Our favorite kid friendly restaurant after Red Robin across the street. The pies look yummy although I usually just have the quesadilla.
We absolutely love this restaurant! Excellent, friendly service with the most delicious food. Relaxed atmosphere guarantees a perfect meal. Their desserts are to die for. Don't miss out on this gem!
Fast and great service
Accommodated our large group with no problems. The fish tacos are excellent. They don't have a huge selection of beer, but what they have is good, and you can get pitchers.
Served fast, incredibly tasty. And did I mention the decadent chocolate cake? Yes!
I want to give this place 5 stars so bad. But I can't because of the service. I have been going since I moved to Utah over a decade ago. I have lost track of how many times I've been years ago. It is my regular go too because of the food and the atmosphere. And it a great crowd pleaser with something for everyone on the menu. I love their rotating menu. Their salads, soups (some of the best french onion soup I've ever had, and delicious seafood chowder) their portabella mushroom sandwich is heaven. They have excellent desserts. I get the chocolate decadence and their European Cheese cake to go almost every single time I go. The booths are cozy, their patio is nice. BUT their service... what the heck. They are nice, but EVERY TIME this is exactly how the service goes...if put in an order for soup and/or appetizer and entree at the same time, after they bring you the appetizer and/or soups, minutes later they will bring your entree, you have had virtually zero time to eat your appetizer. So then your entree gets cold and your table space is over crowded. THEN after they serve you at lightening speed, your waiter disappears so your water and drink refills never happen and if you need anything like extra napkins, boxes or anything order dessert, I have literally had to get up and go ask the front several times. they do bring you your bill right away at the same time they deliver the food and you pay at the front. So if you need to eat somewhere fast, you can definitely accomplish that here. It is crazy how consistent this is the way the service is no matter who our waiter has been. We love this place so much we are willing to put up with this strange service. PLEASE help your service though, at the very least be more attentive. I really hate EVER having to waive down a server because I feel like it is disrespectful and tacky on my end. I don't want to be that person. But that is literally the only way I can get their help 80-90% of the time.
Great place to go for dinner with family or other group. Interesting, tasty menu and the pastries/baked goods are certainly worth a try. They even take orders for cakes. Only reason I took off a star is because the dining area can be very loud and unpleasant during peak hours. Keep that in consideration when planning a reservation etc
Great salads.
It is good food. It has vegan and gluten free choices. I have been there 2 times both were good experiences.
The server did not seem comfortable around a baby..."she has a fat face" and "babies are weird" is not something you say out loud to your guests...we didn't stay for food.
Great atmosphere and awesome fajitas.
I felt that $10 was way too expensive for half a sandwich that I could have made for myself at home it was very ordinary. I expected much better.
While a higher price deli, their food is definitely gourmet. Their many choices of Panini Sandwiches are the best in town.
Red Butte Cafe is a good, solid cafe/pub mix. Great service, good food and a decent location. Not a bar type atmosphere to go watch the games at, but a nice place for a meal and a beer or cocktail. No actual bar to sit at, as it’s more like a Village Inn atmosphere. We will definitely go again for brunch or lunch.
Consistently good food and wonderful desserts! Friendly, helpful staff. A weekly favorite.
I had a meatloaf special that was great. The service was awesome. It is not so noisy that you cannot have a conversation.
Had a great lunch here, everything was good.
Red Butte Cafe is one of the best restaurants I've eaten at. The decor is nice, our waitress was really attentive. I've never had chili rellenos so delicious. There are so many vegetarian choices, to. Reasonably priced.
Excellent variety of menu selections. The house pasta salad has been my favorite for over 20 years Friendly and efficient servers. Great place for lunch and conversation.
My wife and I have eaten here, about 6x a year, for 15+ years. She loves their turkey and avocado sandwich and French onion soup. I enjoy the catfish sandwich or the smoked turkey and tortellini salad but honestly I think there is very little you can go wrong with. The food is consistently good and their desserts are made inhouse and delicious! It can be a bit noisy but we generally get take out. It is always on our list of "where should we eat tonight?" Good stuff, reasonably priced!
What an amazing restaurant. It was my first time visiting, and I cannot wait to go back. Each and every item on the menu sounded so good, it was hard to decide on just one...and I was not disappointed when my order arrived. It was fantastic! Looking forward to my next time!
