I was in Orem area on a Sunday last week, I wasn't very familiar with that area, we were looking for a place to eat but there were many options and most places were closed. You have no idea how grateful we were when we found a Korean BBQ place, and it was open! I've been to their location in Salt Lake downtown, but did not know they recently opened a new location in Orem. The restaurant is roomy and clean, and the service was great. Most important, the food was delicious! Highly recommended!

Pretty cool place. Quiet, yet busy. You could smell the delicious aromas of the food cooking on your hibachi grill. It was quite fun cooking your own food and seasoning it the way you want. We definitely want to go back.

The service is absolutely wonderful, and there is a wide range of food to choose from. However, there are only a few dishes that I truly find tasty. Others I find either too sweet, too salty, or both. The food is definitely catered towards westerners and not authentic Korean BBQ, but that is to be expected.

3/5. Don't be fooled, this is actually a Chinese restaurant run and staffed by Chinese. This is >NOT< authentic Korean BBQ (ex: they didn't know what beef bulgogi was). The food itself is OK, the selection is mediocre, the meat over marinated. On the other hand, the service was great and the ambiance was fantastic. Worth the $20 dinner? Probably not. Was it a decent experience? For sure.

The food was great! Recommend taking people that also enjoy the same foods! Rules to the eating process not super hard to follow... some of the drinks are super super sweet! Make sure you go in hungry the serving sizes are really well set up for groups! And the waiters are really good about keeping things separate we had a huge group and they handled us awesomely! All you can Korean style barbeque. I lived in Korea for three years and this is close, although some items and sauces have a slightly more Chinese feel than Korean. I don't eat pork or beef anymore but my partner does and she says it was great. The marinaded chicken was excellent as was the calamari. The side dishes were excellent and did remind me of Korea. A good deal and great food as long as you aren't a vegan.

The decor and the food are both decent. The biggest issue I have is that they advertise as Korean Barbeque, but it's really more of a Chinese ret with a few psuedo Korean dishes. If you want a real Korean restaurant, this is not the place to go. Also, parking is rough.

First time here today and was absolutely impressed. Place was stuffed with people because the food is so good. The quality of the food is amazing, and it's all you can eat! Plus the service was also great. My water was topped off and next order was taken within minutes of when I finished. All while being so hectic with a full house and everyone having all you can eat.

We have been to numerous korean bbq restaurants alongside OMBU. The portions are tremendously reduced, for example, marinated chicken breast is portioned as 1 CHICKEN BREAST ONLY. Marinated pork belly is portioned as 2 pieces. It’s ridiculous because the portions were not this small before. The servers are very nice however. Kimchi isn’t very good quality, making our favorite kimchi rice not enjoyable anymore. I feel as if the restaurant used to be pretty good for the pricing, however it doesn’t meet up to a quality standard anymore. Yeah, if you’re looking for a cheap low grade korean bbq experience, go here. But if you want an authentic and quality food, go somewhere else.

This place is beautiful as can be seen in the pictures!!! Food isn’t so great tho we got many options and all the meats we got we asked to be “marinated” but they were bland! Our grill was either way to hot or it would turn off! Shrimp also isn’t the best we didn’t even want to cook it has it marination with the head and shell so flavor was going peel off when cooked! left very disappointed.

The food was good. My only disappointment with the food was the lack of sides offered. Service was so-so. Some of the dishes we ordered didn't come out until we were about ready to leave. We also never got our water refilled the entire time we were there. Overall, I don't think that I'd go back. It wasn't worth it for the price.

The best part of Ombu is the freedom. The lunch or dinner price will give you access to everything on the menu, as much as you like. This includes appetizers and non-barbeque items like yakisoba or curry. The meat was very good. Especially go for the marinated beef tenderloin. It blew my mind. They also have more unusual stuff like calimari and chicken cartilage. I was too full to try the calimari, but the cartilage was surprisingly good, as long as you take your time to get the good flavors and spit out the part that is too hard to chew. The sides were pretty good, especially the sweetened, marinated potato. The kimchi was much sweeter than any other I've had, even different ones I've had in Korea. Despite that, this place seems to be owned and run by a Korean family and I hope this place succeeds. My only real issue with the sides is that they were a bit skimpy. And yeah I know, I could always ask for more, but I'll admit I expected a bit more than 1cm of cucumber and 2 slices of potato. The service, I think, is still figuring things out. I had to ask for the same thing from the kitchen multiple times, on multiple occasions. Despite that, the value is good and the food tastes great. If the service had been a little more on the ball and the sides been slightly more plentiful, I'd have given this place 5 stars. It's a good upcoming restaurant and I look forward to going again.

Meat variety is limited, grills are terrible, and the server we had was way too distracted to keep up with our order. Grill was left with gas running and no fire, I had to grab the server again to have her check it and she just didnt notice she didn't turn it on. They are still working out some links of a new restaurant. However it is still worth the visit. The swapping out of the grills is great to keep your food from being covered in the burned mess from the previous food but it takes time to heat back up after being swapped out

This Korean BBQ is very good. It's all you can eat $15 for lunch $20 for dinner. You just pick different types of meat that you want they bring them to the table and you cook them yourself. The cuts of meat we're good nothing to grisly, and their rice was also very good.

So fun and sooo delicious. The meats are really fresh and taste incredible. My favorites to cook is the beef tenderloin and the shrimp! You cook them yourself on a table grill. So much fun. Also, the staff is very friendly and there's an extremely inviting ambiance. Would definitely recommend for a fun night out with your family or friends.

The staff is friendly, attentive to the level you need them to be. If you're a savvy k bbq eater, beginner or in between. A little noisy, because it was busy, so it wasn't always easy to hear what my dining companion was saying. Good portions served so there is little room for waste and you could order a lot of different flavors. The price point is easy on the wallet when compared to similar places in other cities. It's my new favorite place, it's worth the 35 minute drive.

Good food and great prices! The setup is a bit different from other KBBQs in the area because you get some of the side dishes (fruits, dipping sauces, etc.) yourself. The entire menu of food is included in the buffet, and they have a wider range of sides and meats available, including seafood. Though you have to specifically ask for some of the sides, including rice. Service is good, and everyone was attentive. No complaints!

Dont even bother tipping your server, the owners keep 100% of their tips. They pay their employees once a month and it's less than half of what they should have been paid. Poorly ran establishment. Not to even mention the health code violations that happen in an effort to save money.

The food that you get to cook is ok at best. Most of the meat we got just shriveled up on the cooking surface. My girlfriend is vegetarian and she left hungry. This is a meat lovers restaurant. I would not come back here.

The food was good and the people serving were also great, but my whole experience changed at the end. I showed my receipt to the lady checking us out and she gave me my receipt back with a place to add a tip. I didn't cause my friend said that he would cover the tip. I told the lady that I wouldn't tip, cause my friend was the one going to tip for the two of us. She then took my reciept and showed it to my friend, making sure that his tip was large enough for the both of us. I understand that for some people, tips is their main income, but showing us that we need to leave a tip, when it's not a forced rule, and then making sure that the tip is generous, is distasteful in my opinion. If someone gives me my receipt back and says that I need to tip, let's be honest, I'm less likely to want to tip and that what happened.

Went on a Tuesday for lunch, and they charged dinner pricing. When we sat down the waitress literally told us we could NOT order from any of the dinner items, yet she failed to inform us that we would have to pay dinner pricing?!? Made zero sense. Said her manager told her to charge dinner pricing, but on their menu, website and on their giant signs all over their restaurant, they promote their lunch pricing from Monday to Saturday. Not only did they cheat us on the pricing but the grills were slow and service was terrible. Will not be returning, and if you don’t want to be cheated out of your money for no reason, probably best to avoid this place as well.

A little disappointing, review would be lower, but I didn't pay for my meal since it was my birthday. When we got there with a party of around 10 didn't seem like it was very busy however it took our food a long time to come out so we could start cooking, one of the table tops we were using kept going out to the point where we thought we were cooking something then a friend smelled gas and ask the waitress over to relight and we had a little mini fireball. Food was pretty good once we got it, but the steak was the only thing that really stood out.

At this Korean BBQ you cook the food in front of you and there is not a lot of explanation as to how you do that correctly if you don't specifically ask for help. Two stars to be nice. This experience was less than desirable. At least they honored my reservation on time and the waitress was nice. That's about all that was good. I am Korean and none of this reminded me of Korean food. Not only that, but they even offered Chicken Curry Rice. That isn't Korean...yes they can have more than just Korean food on the menu but I'm pointing out that this food isn't authentic. They don't even have Bulgogi listed on the menu...which is mind-blowing. It's just listed as "Marinated Beef"...and I guess that's true because this was NOT Bulgogi. It was cubed marinated beef. Not in traditional bulgogi marinade, and not in strips. Ive never seen bulgogi like this before ever. Their fried shrimp dish and their potstickers were good, but the main food wasn't anything to be desired. I wish I took photos. We also got chicken and cow tongue which were fine. The vent didn't seem to be doing much work and the cooktop itself was very strange. At every Korean bbq place I've been to, the hot plate or whatever you call it is hot while the sides are warm but not hot, which slows or stops the cooking process. You also have access to the heat control and can control how hot you want it. Here you don't have that control and the whole plate is hot, so you have to take the meat off immediately before it burns. TL;DR- Don't go here. If you're in Utah Valley, go to Yummy's in Orem off of state street. It's awesome, super authentic and family run. At Ombu, I asked for Gochujang and she had no idea what I was talking about, nor did they have it...but they have BBQ sauce. I asked for Gochujang at Yummy's and they knew exactly what I was talking about, even bringing out soybean paste along with it. Oh also, my friend started choking on the ribs because of how much fat was on it, needing the Heimlich. He said he's never choked on ribs before in his 30 years, and he's from Texas. That may also affect my negative mood about this place. Oh my gosh THE SIDE DISHES. TERRIBLE. All of the side dishes are kimchi. No soybeans, no bean sprouts, and the potato is cut in circles...so strange. I've never been to a Korean place with ONLY kimchi side dishes. Not worth the money.

During my experience, I received great, responsive customer service. The korean BBQ was delicious and a fun experience. Definitely wouldn’t come here unless you’re super hungry because it’s $20/person however they offer a lot of unlimited choices on the menu that all taste great! This place is hopping! 30-45 min wait on a saturday night. Parking is tight so be prepared to park on State or the side streets. Fun fun fun place to eat. I preferred the marinated meats. There are a couple of veggie choices, and not a good place to bring your vegetarian friends. Service was fast, so even with the long wait for a table, the food comes out pronto. Beer and wine, no spirits. Pleasant surprise is the Soju, if you like libations. Share a bottle with your table

Take a trip to go eat the foods of the Gods. Zeus himself couldn't make a better tasting meat. Meat feels like juicy butter. You can customize your own experience by using different bbq sauces. Feel full without feeling sick to your stomach.

Being an Asian and a Korean-food-lover, it's a so so place. Yes, it has variety of meat, seafood and appetizer, etc but the quality is not that satisfying. Service is very slow until they forget what u ordered. Some waiters are nice but some are forgetful. They serve slow and little meat so you have to order what you want to try immediately. Salad bar has very limited selection. But I'm surprised it's also packed. Hope the quality of food and service improves.

We found this little gem it was a very exciting place to have lunch it was a great experience. They had many variety of lunch menu items. We had the beef which I think was probably the best that they had to offer it was cut up and little chunks. It was about $15 per person so it was a little on the spendy side however the quantity of food you get and the quality of meats and variety is most likely worth it. The host was very accommodating and very helpful and showed us how to cook the food there is some food that you have to cook and there's other food they bring out precooked.

This place does not have authentic Korean BBQ. I've traveled to South Korea, and I've tried many Korean BBQs in California. This place fails on so many aspects. The meat was not savory, yet more dry like wood and cut super thin. Lack of sides, one of the choice of sauce was Hoisin sauce?? Service was really bad. The owners are Chinese, which is odd for a Korean restaurant. The menu is even in Chinese. I don't know how this place manage to keep their rating over 4 stars. Lots of fake reviews or people who've never experienced REAL Korean BBQ.

When we walked in for lunch and were immediately seated. Their menu is all you can eat for lunch or dinner. All of the tables have a grill in the middle with a vent directly over the grill to cook your own Korean BBQ. Their marinated meats cooked quickly and were flavorful and tender. My favorite dish was the bibimbop, which the server mixed at our table and had a nice blend of textures and flavors. The menu pictures are representative of what was brought to our table. Come prepared to use chopsticks - it adds to the experience!

The lunch buffet for 14.99 was pretty decent. It’s such a cool experience and if you’ve got the money for a slightly more expensive meal, it’s a really fun time. They bring out raw meats and you cook them at your own table (recommend the marinated pork and the tenderloin). It was pretty busy when we went and service was a tad slow, which was frustrating. Overall, a nice experience.

The side dishes were mixed with wrong sauces - they did not taste like I've ever had or made my entire life - I've been told that I'm a great cook. I went there for curiosity, and will never visit again. I see a lot of reviews that say they were impressed. I do not want to downgrade their experience; however, please do some cultural check.

There are big signs outside saying it's a Korean BBQ but it's not. It's Chinese food with a couple Korean styled foods. It's not authentic Korean food so the signs are deceiving and untrue. It's the equivalent of calling Panda Express genuine Chinese food.

This place was ideal for a bachelor party: at a high-to-reasonable flat rate of $20, you have endless access to mediocre meats with enough variety of sauces to make it customizable for everyone. It's a fun, active group dinner atmosphere, where you don't feel pressure from the waiting staff. Food-wise, I felt the marinated pork was my favorite, mostly because I felt it was the only meat that hadn't been defrosted right after we ordered it and didn't have brown freezer burn around the edges. I'll probably be back again, but not soon.

Giving a one star review because of waitress. Food was good. Service was good but really slow. Our waitress just forgot our drink and food several time. We gave cash tip on the table and paid our bill with our credit card. We put $0 for tip on the receipt. When we gave it to her, she immediately looked at it and asked "Oh, no tip for me?". Girl you're not supposed to ask that question. Rude and unprofessional. I know waitresses/waiters need to get tips but come on girl...stop asking your customer that question in the future. Owner or manager needs to train their workers to not ask that question.

OMBU is a buffet with many varieties. They have Japanese, Chinese, and Korean dishes throughout the whole menu. My favorite is their grilled fish. Meats are very well marinated and it's a must try at OMBU. Another amazing thing they have is to prepare and grill the meat for you at your table. Of course they will ask if you would like the service but this is something I don't see anywhere else doing it. Usually all you can eat places will just have yourself do it but this is a different level. I love it very much and it's affordable given the varieties and the services they offer. If you like Asian BBQ and some authentic appetizers this is a great place to go.

We went there with my family. There was 13 of us and so we ordered just about everything and shared it. Everything that we got was so good! It was also really fun to cook it our selves. All the meats are cut thin so that it all cooks really fast. They also had a bunch of sauce choices as well. I highly recommend this place. The service was also really fast.

*NOT KOREAN* As a person who grew up eating korean food and as a korean person... this place isn’t actually korean barbecue. It has *a few* korean marinated meats and cuts but if you look at the menu there aren’t that many korean foods. Even the pork belly which is korean didn’t come out with the correct dipping sauces that you should eat it with. It was a disappointment and I would highly not recommend if you are wanting actual korean meats and food.

The food is good, the service is not perfect especially one waitress which seems to be kind and smiley with some clients more than others. Maybe she is assuming that white people are giving better tips than asian... The service was pretty fast though. The venting air system is not working well so you will smell korean bbq after for sure. Don't wear fancy clothes even your jacket will keep the smell for few day. But I will go back again hoping to have a different waitress or that she would be in a better mood.

It's "Korean recipes", but the menu is in English and Chinese (with names, not descriptions) and the taste was a bit off. The waitress shamed us about wasting food, but the portion of fried rice they brought to my mom and me could have fed 6 people. We also said we didn't like spicy food, but she kept recommending spicy meats. I ended up vomiting up almost everything I ate almost as soon as I got home, but I made sure everything was thoroughly cooked before we ate it. The Lemon "Cheesecake" was ok... not really cheesecake.

My is Korean and we enjoy trying any Korean restaurants near our home. This is not a good Korean BBQ. Yes they had the BBQ draft tables, but all the meats had some sort of marination that was nothing like anything I had before. I would not recommend this if you like Real Korean BBQ.

Here they come to see how you doing frequently but not exceedingly. Takoyaki was creamy and tasted great. Miso Soup was very tasteful. Recommend the Brisket, Pork belly, Steak, Squid , shrimp and to wrap everything up ask for lettuces leaves. The only thing that I wished it had was more sauce options (but that is not enough to take a star off considering the rest of experience was very good).

Tonight I ate at OMBU grill for the first time and it was really great! It's all you can eat Korean BBQ that you grill at your table. There are a lot of great options including marinated steak, marinated chicken, shrimp, and short ribs. A couple of our plates had a slice of pineapple on them so we asked for more of that and grilled it too. We were there for about an hour and a half and all food was great! I'll definitely be going back to OMBU grill.

I went for lunch with 3 others for AYCE, $14.99 lunch. Lunch offers 33 choices. We received 3 "appetizers". The main portions are large and the meats thinly cut for quick cooking and eating. The dinning area was clean with sufficient table space, and room between tables. A bowl of cold , sweet oranges were delivered to finish our meal. Our server was efficient but not engaging. She may not have spoke much English.

This is not authentic all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ, but it is still very very tasty! The menus are in Chinese and English and forget about asking the waiting staff for 돈가쓰 (they do know what Tonatsu is though). It wasn't what I was expecting but it has by far the nicest interior design that I've seen from local AYCE restaurants of a similar nature, and the staff are extremely attentive, helpful, and friendly and will assist in cooking and adjusting the temperature of your in-table grill. I'd go again for the steak alone but again, don't expect traditional 불고기 flavors, it's a whole different game there since most of your non-marinated flavor comes from dipping sauces.

Really good food. We didn't know that you could make reservations, so we just showed up. It was a bit of a wait, but I've waited longer at popular restaurants. I have really bad food allergies that are difficult to avoid without making the food myself, so I knew I was taking a chance at a new restaurant. I'm glad to say I can go back without worrying about using an EpiPen. And my wife and I plan on going back. There is more food to try.

Decent AYCE KBBQ for the price. Good selection of meats, though we always finished our meats long before servers came by to replenish them, because portions served are rather small and sparse, and the only side you can grab in the interim is a salad buffet.
