Food is great! Service more than disappointing. Don't let them seat you outdoors. Asked to get extra salsa at least six times. After 1 hour and 30 minutes and watching several tables around us get seated and receive their food I finally asked for a manager. We finally got our food. Another manager came over and asked how everything was after we received our check. I again told her how long we had waited and she commented back that she didn't believe we had waited that long. A very disappointing experience! Good food will never be worth being treated in the manner that they treated us that evening. Never again!

This was my first time trying this place and it turned out to be amazing for me! I ordered el memo and my husband el sabroso. Mine was absolutely delicious! My husband thought his was just okay. The chips and salsa were to die for though! The red sauce was served warm and I thought that made it even better. The green sauce tasted like avocado mixed with some tomatillos and maybe something else. So good! It is definitely a place I will return to. Their menu had so many options, it was hard to choose just one!

I usually love this place. So I invited a few friends to eat, a total of 5 couples. Unfortunately the food did not have AnY of the flavor we have come to love so much. It took forever to be served and it just wasn’t good. Then we were surprised to have been charged a 20% tip automatically. I think if they’re going to charge any tip. It’s should start at 10% and if the service is good, we can add more. I’m just not happy to have paid $60 for a meal that didn’t even taste good.

Los Cucos is a great place for large plates with a lot of good tasting Mexican food. I had the jalapeno poppers and they were excellent and big enough to be a meal themselves. We had great service, our server was right on top of drinks and care. If you want straight up good Mexican food with lots of choices Los Cucos is the place to go!

Force you to pay a 20% tip as a "Dine in" charge (there were 3 of us). Had I known I would have not come here. How about you pay your staff a livable wage and when they do a really good job I decide on a tip and how much. Food was bland and luke warm. I feel cheated paying $18+ for a meal I ate maybe 10% of.

The food was only warm when it got to us. I had to go find somebody to ask them to please heat it up. After they brought it back to us neither one of us could eat our meals and we're not picky eaters. I don't think our waiter even knows that we sent our food back. He wasn't around. We did enjoy the chips and salsa bar and the live entertainment. I won't be going back

I have to say. I’m impressed with the service tonight. My boyfriend and I sat in the bar and the server we had was phenomenal. Thank you for having an awesome attitude and offering to do more than you were expected. His name was Jared. That guy deserves a raise. Also food is always excellent. One of my favorite Mexican restaurants in town!

Food wasn't that great I got the 8 oz new york sirloin medium rare. It came out medium well to well done. It was the single toughest new york sirloin I've ever had in my life and impossible to chew. It was a door dash order they got wrong the first time around. It could have just been the dish that wasn't that good but I do not recommend ordering the steak

I’ve been here a few times, and always love the food. I’ve tried a couple different items and am never disappointed! It always seems to be pretty busy too. The one thing to be aware of is the price, I’d say most dishes are a $1-2 more than other Mexican restaurants. If you have a family I’d take a date night so you don’t feel as bad about spending some extra money, and enjoy a night out!

I love this place! Their green salsa is the best, and the stuffed avocados are delicious. The staff is fast and friendly. The only complaint I have is that their parking lot is so small. But now that we're living closer, we will definitely be visiting more often.

It has been a while since I went to Cucos. My friends organized me my Bday Party. What a nice treat. The tortillas were handmade. So good. The salsa for the chips was hot and tasty. I LOVED THE FOOD. And I am Mexican. So yes. I SAY THIS is real Mexican FOOD.

My nephew picked this place for lunch together. At first I was a little bummed because I'm not a huge fan of standard American Mexican food. This place was so good! The free chips and green salsa was yummy. They had seafood nachos! What they are is 6 large wanton-like chips with a piece of shrimp, crab meat, melted cheese and other goodness stacked on top. Yum! We loved these. Then it was not your typical SLC Mexican place. Probably 5 pages on the menu, including a "healthier" and "grilled" section if your watching your diet. I ordered fish on the grilled menu. I got the fish Cancún and he got the fish playa Azul. We both loved our dishes. The fish was exceptional and I was super surprised. Great size meals too, enough to be thoroughly full but not exploding. I definitely plan to eat here again. I even saw they Door Dash so I plan to get fish delivered to work one of these days. Would recommend to anyone not looking for just bean and cheese burritos

I was kindly surprised by a familiar face from a previous restaurant Nancy. As always she provided excellent service. As for the food this being the first time I dined here I was not disappointed. Great high quality food and portion sizes and the cocktails were excellent as well. I will be back hopefully with Nancy as my server.

The atmosphere was nice. Service was slow but I came in later in the day so hopefully they are faster during rush times. I didn't care for the Mexican Bowl (whereas I typically love the Burrito Bowl at Chipotle and similar dishes at other places) but I may well go back and try another dish.

Great food. Atmosphere could be improved a bit with different lighting and decor, maybe a water feature or two, it would really amp this place up. Couldnt find the bartender to serve my friends and I after our meals for 15 mins. but I beleive with a tighter leash on staff and little interior design work, this place would be absolutely amazing.

The service was slow. We was there on a Thursday night. There wasn't alot of people there. The food was ok. It is very spicy hot. The flavor was just blah. Not what I am used to at other Mexican places. No one finished there dinner, and only 1 of the 5 took leftovers home. This is a place I will not go back and eat at, but, I am sure there are people that really like this food and this place.

Terrible terrible terrible experience! We have been eating here for years and our experience ruined it and we will never go back. The service was slow and our utensils were dirty as well as many other items. We experienced a problem with our bill and our server went to ask the manager a question. The manager didn’t even have the nerve to come to our table to explain things. We were just basically told too bad too sad. We were very disappointed with the service And the management.

Well, the men's restroom was clean. I felt pushed by the waitress to hurry and order. When the food came it looked very nice but my food was very bland. I had the beef chimichanga but it was hard to tell that I was eating beef. It was actually a chore to eat my meal. Meal prices are very pricey for Mexican food. The decor was nice and there was adequate space between tables.

It was okay...I guess it's good for Utah-type Mexican food. The flavor of their fajitas was lacking-the only things really worth eating on the skillet were some if the veggies and the sausages. It needed a whole lot more seasoning. I was expecting more because people raved about it. Maybe we went on an off night.

I know...I know.... Oh another Mexican restaurant for lunch on Saturday. We all arrived before the real rush began. There were four of us at this particular trip. Oddly enough three of us ordered the same dish. Only difference was the meat choices. All four of us found the food plentiful and very tasty. I would not rank the food as an average Mexican restaurant, this place was definitely a step above. Lis Cucos proved to be so much more than just another Mexican restaurant. The service? Well, don't worry about that. We wanted for nothing. They had a great balance. Yes, balance, which in my opinion is a rating for just right. You know the places that you see your server only when they bring food. Not here. Nor was it one of those places where you felt harassed. It was a great balance meeting all of our wants. Not sure why I haven't been here. I frequently do quite bit of shopping in that immediate area. I will be returning more frequently than I shop in that immediate area. Now that we have discovered Los Cucos we will be making special trips just for the food.

This is my all time favorite Mexican restaurant! It has been around awhile so you know things are right. The food has a "Tex-Mex" feel to it and tastes very good. Great size portions and great value for the money spent. Come try it!

We love Los Cucos! I am a native Arizonan and miss authentic Mexican food. We have been to many places and this one comes the closest to authentic. The retried beans are a bit dry, and the bean dip needs some revamping, but nothing in town can beat their dishes.

Very disappointed. They sent me a digital birthday card for a free meal. I grabbed my wife, son and my parents and we all had a meal. They refused my digital coupon because it wasn't printed. I like their food, I just don't like being invited in and being turned down for their offer in the format they sent it to me. Even with a policy in place, most restaurants would have worked something out. I'll reconsider where we eat Mexican food next time. There seems to be more than one Mexican restaurant in town.

My boyfriend and I couldn’t decide where to eat and we stumbled upon this restaurant. Can I just say how hard it is to find authentic Mexican food in Utah? They have delicious plates and their customer service is spectacular. They’re always checking on you and making sure everything is great. We split the Parillada San Luis between two of us for $20 bucks and we still had leftovers! Will be coming back again!

Holy moly, the food was terrific! I got the beef and shrimp Cucos fajitas and they were super delicious. Tableside guacamole is absolutely worth it! The patio seating was wonderful, except for the 10 minutes we sat there before our server showed up. He was also grumpy at first with some dietary restrictions, hence the docking of a star.

For Mexican food, it's a bit overpriced. Waited a while in their foyer to even get a host to greet is and take us to a table and it wasn't even that busy. Considering how it wasn't busy this Sunday evening, I was surprised how long we waited for our food, but at least another server (busser?) kept our drinks and chips and salsa refilled.

Despite being busy, I felt that we were seated pretty quickly. The service was great, and the waiter was attentive to our group's needs. I plan on going back.

The original store is in our home town of Katy TX. It's nice to have a bit of Texas in Utah. Service is attentive and friendly. Food is always amazing, especially the tableside guacamole. Once you've tried it, you'll be off all others.

This is the best Tex-Mex in utah, by far. They are based out of Texas and this restaurant is their only chain outside of Texas. Why they picked Sandy, UT? No idea, but I'm glad they did. I used to go to their restaurants in Texas every chance I got and now that they have one in utah I don't have to wait until my trips to TX. The queso flameado appetizer is amazing, and the fried stuffed avocado is my favorite meal, although I have yet to be disappointed with anything I've eaten there.

My favorite Mexican food restaurant near work. I especially love the seafood dishes. They have abundant seating and I have never had to wait to be seated, even when in a large group. When I come alone or with just my wife I like to sit at a table in the bar area. It's festive and energetic atmosphere is fun.

Very disappointed. We brought a digital coupon to use for a birthday with a large party. They wouldn't accept a digital coupon that they sent us. Very disappointed in management said we couldn't use the restaurants digital coupon that the company sent us. I guess you have to print it out. Which seems to be a scam. What kind of a company doesn't accept a digital coupons. Very bad customer service.

I really enjoyed the food here. The service was also great, as was the location. Prices are low to mid-range for Mexican food, portions are good. The specials are a really good value. Service was fast and friendly. My drink was always full, which I really appreciate. Bathrooms were clean and parking is plentiful.

The food here is fantastic, but over-priced for the offerings. We were surprised that it took 45-50 minutes to receive our order. The overall cleanliness of the restaurant is really lacking. With a few improvements this could be a great experience, but they've got some work to do to earn my business.

Loud, but that's a given on a Friday night. Chile relleno was one of the worst I've ever had. Stuffed avocado was okay. Everyone that got chicken meals said it was dry and tough. Our server was excellent!

The service was very good and was what saved my experience there. Their vegetarian options are very limited, if that's something that applies to you, and the one thing I could find was a spinach and mushroom enchilada that had a soggy tortilla, a lime sauce which didn't pair well with the spinach, sparse mushrooms, and then literally just tubes of frozen spinach to swallow down. I think a cream sauce or some cheese could really help elevate it, but it was also in the healthier section of the menu so perhaps that was why they didn't add to the vegetables. My friend is not vegetarian and enjoyed her food and the service really was very good though!

3.5 Stars for Los Cucos Steaks flavor is really good any other dish is very average Busy place for sure Staff is very friendly and they really try to take care of the high volume of customers Food is ok in my opinion nothing really outstanding Portions are not as generous as other places of this level Expect to pay anywhere bteween $70 to $95 for a family dinner for 4 with soft drinks and no desert. So it isn't cheap Place is not bad but I think this place flirts with being an overprice place for mexican average place. Ate here for the first time today. Food was alright but not the best. Service was not good. Appetizer was brought to our table with no napkins or silverware. It took a while for us to grab our waitress to bring us some. One of our drinks had a hair in it and another persons food had hair in it. The waitress took our drinks for refills and didn’t remove the straws which is super unsanitary. Overall was not impressed. Not somewhere I plan on returning.

The food here was great! I had a chimichanga, my mom had the lunch special, and my sister had a quesadilla. All of us loved the food that we ordered. As we were leaving the restaurant we saw someone eating ceviche that looked really good so I will be going back to try that. I also really liked their avocado salsa that they put out with the chips it was really good too!

I liked it, my friends thought the food was too hot. They'll make fresh guacamole in front of you if you order it, I thought that was cool. The food isn't authentic, the lines were super long when we went, and it was loud. The food tastes good.

Got the order wrong multiple times, went on a not busy Tuesday evening. Not very good food, just okay. They were out of beef for the tacos and brought the wrong enchilada but told us it was the right one. It was all cheese and supposed to be chicken. The stuffed avocado was good and the salsa and chips we're tasty otherwise not impressed.

Worst Mexican food I have ever had , if you can call it food. I would seriously recommend Taco Bell over this place and I think Taco Bell is gross. That’s how bad this restaurant was when I went there. My wife and I decided to share a Mariachi Fajitas $19.99 which has shrimp, chicken and steak. When the food arrived finally, I took one of the two dry and cold tortillas brought to me and made a fajita. The chicken was just awful and tasteless so I spit that out. My next bite had some of what these guys call steak, that was also lacking flavor and had lots of chewy pieces so I spit that out as well. The shrimp tasted old and tasteless as well. These guys don’t know how to make a fajita, they should not call themselves a restaurant. My 3 year old boys kids hamburger and fries was so tasteless and bad that my son refused to eat it. I was in disbelief as how bad the food was. Our waitress was very nice and was running around like crazy. She saw that we did not hardly touch the food she brought us a free desert and we paid and left. Also this place has the worst circulation I have ever seen. There’s actually smoke in the restaurant to the point it’s hard to see far away. We stunk like we had been working and cooking in the kitchen when we left. We all had to immediately throw our clothes into the washer and take showers to get the smell off us. I would recommend you eat anywhere but here. Prices are high and the food is just awful. The positive reviews are fake to offset the mostly negative ones. Be forewarned and eat anything anywhere but here
