Cannot say enough about how awesome this place was. The drinks and the food and the service were all off the charts. We had a server who had just moved there from California, I can't remember his name, but he did a fantastic job with the large group that we had there. It was one of the better dining experiences I've had in years

My husband and I came last night to celebrate a special occasion. The ambiance was amazing, so cozy and romantic with the fireplace and everything, although it was a little dark even for me. We are vegetarian, there were only 2 entrees that were a possibility so we decided to have a shared plate, salads, and then share an entree. The shared plate was the Asian fried cauliflower which was amazing! I could have made a meal out of just that. The salads were amazing too, we were in flavor country! The drinks and the service were great too, but when the entree came out we were sadly disappointed. We chose the Pazole, I wanted so much to like it but it was terrible!!!! The sauce tasted like it came straight out of a can! Just thinking about it makes me feel nauseous, yuck! Call me crazy but I would expect more from the bathrooms of a nice restaurant too, they were pretty trashy and outdated. We will probably come back and try the other veg entree, or maybe just stick to shared plates and salads. If I have a better experience next time I will update my review but I would suggest they take the Pozole off the menu so no one else has to suffer through it.

Log Haven was a wonderful location for our anniversary dinner. Every course was delicious and hard to decide. Our waiter Erik was great and fun to talk to. We'll definitely return.

Ryan Ewer

So this place gets really well reviewed, but that was not our experience. The only saving grace was the location...beautiful evening up Millcreek canyon. The service was horrible...probably among the worst I have had...ever. Super slow service, awkward conversation, seemed to only recommend the most expensive items but couldn't articulate why they were good. Food took forever to get out. Then my wife's meal was cold. Needless to say, we didn't dare send it back as we didn't have another 45 mins to spare. When the valet service was the highlight of the night, there is a problem. Not recommended and won't be returning.

Andrew Pestotnik

It was awesome! I'm glad someone saw its potential back in the day and didn't allow it to be demolished

Cameron Greenburg

Beautiful spot for a wedding reception.

Karl Rosenberg

Great dinner. A little bit pricey

Brian Mott

I was working there. Remote enough up the canyon that there is no phone signals. Cozy cabin like and nice enough for the many weddings they have.

Scott Foley

Great scenery. I don't think that I would like most of the stuff on the menu (I'm a simple person and most things here are too fancy for me) but what really liked what I got. The deserts are fantastic as well.

Natalie Taylor

Delicious food, great ambiance, amazing service!

Elyse Gibbs

Beautiful place for a wedding! Staff was amazing helpful and sweet!

Catherine Morpeth

Magical place set in the mountains surrounded by trees and a beautiful waterfall! The food is very good and the staff are really friendly. We had a lovely time here and wish we could return in Winter with the snow and the fireplace!

Mitchell Filter

This is just a bees knees of places. A must go for any special occasion or just to have an amazing experience and food that just melts in your mouth..

Joseph Walston

We had such a relaxing, romantic dinner here. The setting is absolutely gorgeous. The fillet was so tender and delicious. Highly recommend.

Miguel Mery

We were in a group of 6 and were able to try a variety of the menu. Everything we ordered was delicious. Definitely will be going back.

Caleb Kingston

This is where I proposed to my wife 5 years ago. It's a restaurant with a beautiful view and very nice aesthetics. I don't remember the food being excellent but if you include the environment of eating up in the canyons and enjoying the scenery, the value is there.

Vic Solo Gil

This is a real Heaven of a restaurant. Our steak was superb and server, Guy outdid himself. I've loved this place since day one.

Susan Mattinson

Absolutely 5 star, Service, ambiance and food....taste, presentation, phenomenal! There is nothing that could be improved upon. Excellent steaks, fish and seafood! Top notch. Limited parking but valet is available. Make reservations and definitely enjoy the fine dining experience!

Paul Badame

Classy Delicious and Generous all cozied into an idyllic wooded setting. I've been many times and we're never disappointed. The bevette is probably my favorite.

A Rodriguez

Romantic, quaint, and good food

Jzrocket205

The atmosphere was nothing I ever seen before

Joshua Aird

Absolutely one of my favorite restaurants in all of Utah. The service is always great and the food is awesome and unique. We went there last night for their dog days of summer. It was a great experience like it has been in times passed. The staff made such a big deal out of dogs being there. Several staff came out to see them and talk to us about them. It really made us feel special and we were of course happy to talk about our dogs. They of course provided our two boys with water.

James Benson

This place has the absolute best atmosphere! Some of the guests were underdressed but no one seemed to mind. There is a nice waterfall in the outside dining area that is so pretty and the decor inside is very nice. The food was delicious and well made. The menu often includes seasonal items and its hard to make a choice. I don't think you can go wrong with any of their items though.

Christopher Grozdon

Such an amazing dinner with great service, fantastic ambiance, and delicious food!

sherry babcock

Have been coming from Vegas for years now. Always amazing, but not tonight. All food was over cooked. Vegetables burnt so badly they were black, all meats and scallops over cooked. Staff took meal off bill and remade, but we're unapologetic for bad cooking. Restaurant was nearly empty. No Excuse!!!

Krishna Nuli

Beautiful location, went there for the company party, great food...

Barilika G

Wonderful restaurant! The food was delicious, the waiting area was very nice, we sat right next to a beautiful stone fireplace. The drive up to the restaurant is beautiful, through the forest and very romantic. Our hostess was great, she recommended some amazing dishes. This restaurant is a great location for an anniversary, birthday, or other special occasion. We will definitely come back here.

Anand Kumar

Excellent food, service & ambience!

TJ

Amazing food and a great ambience. Haven’t eaten anything there that wasn’t delicious, the elk is my favorite! Highly recommend!

Maddie Graham

The food was absolutely amazing, and the entire restaurant, interior and exterior, was beautiful.

jennifer stone

Amazing, romantic ambience and incredible food! This is the place to celebrate anything significant!

Gary Beardsley

Amazing food. Incredible atmosphere.

John Allison

Simply the best fine dining experience in the Salt Lake Valley area. The views are amazing too.

Matt Stanley

Really rustic but nice! and the food was great. I got the Elk steak and it was amaaaaazing. Everything we got was delicious. Definitely planning on going back.

Scott Silva

Incredible atmosphere, fantastic service and of course great food. A myst when in the salt lake area

Angil

Loved it!!! We came here for both New Years and for a late Valentine's Day dinner. Their food is AMAZING and the service is always impeccable. They were handing out single roses which was super nice and they smelled amazing. Will definitely be coming here again.

Drew Hunt

It was the best meal I’ve ever had!! The ambiance was amazing. The waiter did a great job. The meat was the most tender I’ve ever had, it almost melted in your mouth which was quite the sensation! Even for a penny pincher every penny was worth it! 10/10! Sensational experience!!!

Mark Nelson

Beautiful setting, interesting and delicious menu. Great for special occasions.

Jon Christensen

They did a wonderful job with my daughter's wedding.

Megan Ames

The is one of my favorite places to eat! The Grilled Bison Steak is what dreams are made of for us. Please never take it off the menu.

Teinamarrie Scuderi

This is a gorgeous venue! The staff is amazing!

Stephanne Dennis

This was my 2nd visit and while we had a limited menu because it was a large business function, it was still worth the trip. The ambiance of this place is incredible. I've tried the filet, bison, and elk and the bison is out of this world (elk being my 2nd choice with filet ranking 3rd). Make it a point to visit.

Marles Barkley

Good food, pretty spendy but the steak was delicious

Josiah Purss

Incredible! The location is amazing, staff are great and the food was delicious. I had the glazed cauliflower and the bacon wrapped elk. Both were phenomenal. Definitely on the pricier side.

Emily

Phenomenal in every way! Beautifully located, tastefully decorated. Reminded me of the grandest national park dining rooms. Excellent service (our waiter was Armand). The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and when we shared dishes the were spilt for us in the kitchen. Portions we very generous and prices reasonable. Everything about our experience was five star. I can’t wait to go back.

Steven Dyson

We booked a corporate celebration here and it was a great experience with out party of 45. Beautiful restaurant in a beautiful setting. Fantastic food and service!

Carl Mikkelsen

This was a great place, hidden away in a canyon outside Salt Lake City. Interesting menu choices. I had elk, my wife had fish. Really nice setting, friendly staff, and very accommodating. Our plans changed and we arrived for our reservation very early. We waited quietly in a comfortable couch and sipped ingenious drinks. Before long, we had a table. We started with the heirloom carrot salad. It was beautifully presented and tasted great. They comp the park entrance ticket you will pick up at the canyon entrance. If you have a chance drive through the canyon in the daylight.

Gabby Bright

We looked at several Wedding Venues across Salt Lake City and we both came to the conclusion that Log Haven was the best fit for us. The venue group were easy to work with and completely took "the work" away from the bride and groom on our wedding day. As for price, I would say you pay for what you get in a high end, canyon setting venue. It was beautiful and we can't thank Faye and her team enough for helping create our dream wedding become a reality.

Arturo Ramírez

Beautiful place with great service and delicious plates.

Cori Chappell

The food and surroundings are marvelous and the staff friendly and attentive. We come here as much for the ambiance as the food. It's our favorite place for special occasions.

Jen G

Love this place. Cozy, upscale atmosphere with wonderful live music. The fireplace was so nice to sit by on the freezing cold night. Alpine nachos were fabulous. Tried the elk striploin and it was delicious. My husband got the filet which was amazing. I love that they have mocktails for someone like me who likes yummy, innovative drinks without the alcohol. The passion fruit one is so amazing!! Desserts were good, but not mind blowing, maybe I was just too full. Can't wait to have another excuse to go again.

Jamie and Chad Kirkley

We have eaten at Log Haven on three occasions when visiting Salt Lake City and have never been disappointed. Excellent selections. We have had the bison, elk, salmon and other dishes - all considered excellent. The staff is good and responsive. Highly recommended.

LC Williams

We were greeted with less charm and warmth than expected. It was nice to sit on their attractive.patio, but we really wanted to be inside for more privacy. Unfortunately, the A/C was turned off, which made it far too warm and stuffy to dine inside. Our food was good, presented attractively and served promptly by a pleasant waiter. Overall, it was a nice dining experience, just not stellar.

Matt Trethewey

5 stars all the way from atmosphere to service to food. Amazing dining experience.

Bentley Hensel

Fantastic restaurant. The food is incredible. This is one of those places that really stands out. The staff really cares about their food and what they serve. The location is incredible. Highly recommend. Try the buffalo. Yes, it is really tasty.

Evan Martin

My favorite place in Utah! Everything from atmosphere to food, is on another level. The elk steak is amazing!

Jim Merrell

Log Haven is a great place for a relaxed up scale dinner. The food, while on the high end, meets expectations for the price. Everything from the appetizers to the dessert was high quality and delicious.

Arlyn Eggen

Always a sure bet, amazing fresh food, excellent service unbelievable atmosphere!

Alta Babcock

I had my wedding here a couple weeks ago and it was amazing! The whole planning process was easy and Faith and Clayton were fabulous to work with. Log Haven was beautiful and the staff made sure the night ran smoothly. Even the waiters and waitresses were willing to help look for safety pins and sewing kits when my dress split open. The food was great too! We did the buffet and it was fantastic. It was a fabulous experience working with Log Haven! It was the perfect place for a wedding!

Adrienne Nakamura

Really beautiful patio. Good food, great wine list. Loved our server, she was very professional and attentive.

Max Curtis

Did not say on the website that reservations are basically required to get a seat here. Drove an hour to get here, arrived when they opened at 530, and was told they were booked till 830. Did not answer the phone when I called before leaving. Thanks for wasting our time and gas.

Scott Neabore

My wife and I are visiting SLC for vacation and this was our first time at the Log Haven. We couldn’t be more pleased. The food was unique and delicious. Jason was an outstanding waiter. We would highly recommend the Log Haven to anyone and will definitely plan to go back next time we are in town.

Tim Lyman

The staff is super friendly and very professional. The food was beyond exquisite and the ambiance was perfect! I want to extend a huge thank you to everyone there!

Sa Gi

It's beautiful, and the service is stellar. But the food was a little bland for me.

Joseph Tucker

This place was beautiful! Service was great and the food was even better. The desert was second to none! We had a beautiful view of the outdoors from our table. Took my wife for our anniversary and we couldn't have picked better. The live music was the cherry on top. Perfect night. Thank you Log Haven!

Lizzie Hansen

My sister had her wedding here. The staff is incredible. The scenery is beautiful. Food was delicious. Wedding price included an event coordinator who made sure every single moment went off without a hitch. I would recommend Log Haven to anyone looking for an event center.

Glenn Bauman

This is a remarkable place. Be prepared to spend though, if you're looking for prices on the menu you're in the wrong place. But whatever you choose is going to be perfect, even if it's something you don't normally like. My sirloin was life changing.

Melonie Bagneschi

Future brides / people planning an event: The venue is beautiful! Just beware that service fees, gratuity & taxes are NOT included in the pricing they give you. Ask upfront about these fees to save yourself some time!

Randy Boldrin

Good menu, really good attention to detail. Beautiful area so of your here for the restaurant do yourself a favor especially in the summer and go take a walk around the area.

Ming Xiao

We first walked along the Millcreek creek side. It was very pleasant. Then we went to the Log Haven. The restaurant was very inviting. The staff was friendly. The tea bags offered were not good. The tea was too weak. We ordered the butternut squash soup. It was creamy and yummy. Scallops were seared perfectly. Not too raw, not over cooked. The pork chop however, was on the dry side. I believe pork chop is very hard to cook. Can’t serve it pink, but once it’s cooked thoroughly, it’s too dry. The elk steak was delicious. A much better choice. For dessert, the pineapple upside-down cake and the butterscotch pot de creme were excellent. We didn’t leave any crumbs on the plates.

Daria Keenan

Cozy and quaint little restaurant. The location is heavenly in the middle of the mountain overlooking a waterfall. The food was pretty good. Seemed to be an older crowd. It was very busy when we were there so it was very hot and stuffy Luckily we were right next to a window that we were able to crack a bit

Scott Hendrickson

Great location awesome views fantastic food highly recommended

Pretty ambiance, blah food. Lets start with the gentleman seating us on Father's Day...older gentleman, Ian, gruff, not very inviting at all. He kept asking if our entire party of 4 was present...could he not count the number of people standing in front of him? Next the server...going through the same script, same corny lines at each table. I had to ask for bread...a standard dinner roll, served 1 at a time. Really??? Most fine restaurants bring a bread basket of assorted breads, but not here. Next the food presentation...I had the steak fillet. A slop of mashed potatoe, 4 grilled asparagus and not even a 4 oz steak...for $49. Total rip off, nothing special, even presentation on the plate was blah. Soft drinks...its fountain and they charge you by the glass. How cheesy and cheap is that??? I could understand if it was served from a bottle or a can, but charging by the glass for each refill for a fountain soft drink is cheesy. Very disappointed in the service, food and value. I was expecting to pay a lot, but I expected a much nicer caliber of food and service and presentation. Of the 4 of us, 3 of us left saying, they were cheap with the portions. The salads ($9) were nothing to write home about either. The only positive: the gentleman at the valet. Very kind and helpful with my elderly mother. Overall, a total let down and especially for a special event, such as Fathers Day Dinner. Next time, La Caille.

Russell DeVoe

My wife and I go here every year for our anniversary. It never disappoints. A new menu every time. Excellent food, great service and then do it slow without trying to push you out of there. Thank you Log Haven!!

david janecky

Delightful place for a wedding. Great staff and good food.

Adrian Lefler

Quaint... comfortable.... great staff. I manage to get up there about an eight a year. Was there this past week and it was lovely.

Craig Cooper

Great ambiance and good food. Such a beautiful place. Perfect for a special occasion and entertaining out of town guests.

Kirt Whitehead

Amazing atmosphere and food. Came here for a business dinner and everyone was very impressed with the flavors and atmosphere. Honestly, second to none. The menu seems a little "uppity" but I didn't eat anything that I wouldn't happily order again.

K. Spence Bingham

Fantastic place with good friends or special occasions.

Mandie Mae

Amazing experience every time we go. Beautiful cozy atmosphere, delicious food and excellent attention to detail. Alpine "nachos" appetizer is scrumptious!

Karen Riley

Great local landmark in the midst of the canyon with beautiful scenery and cozy cabin ambiance. Really enjoyed our dinners and the pineapple sorbet was the perfect ending.

Skyler Thomas

Our first visit there was excellent! Food and environment was great. A genteman named Johnathan provided fabulous service and friendly conversation! We will be return customers!

Asena Cakmakci

Great place to eat. Very good food and atmosphere. The waiters and staff were very kind and accommodating!

Kasandra Lundquist

Wonderful food, served in a relaxing environment by attentive staff. Eveything we had was delicious. The crab cakes might have been my favorite but really everything was cook perfectly! Katie did a great job of taking care of us. Perfect place to celebrate something special or just because.

Ben Vayo

While this place is definitely pricey ($30-$60+/person) it has fantastic food. The meat is always cooked to perfection, the appetizers and desserts are all delectable, and the atmosphere of the restaurant is great. Decent amount of both indoor and outdoor seating depending on if there is an event going on. The setting is beautiful and it's worth the drive up the canyon.

Rebekah Stephens

I took my husband here for date night after searching for romantic restaurants in the Salt Lake City area. This is a bit off the path, but it was a lovely place. It is inside of a park so even in the evening we had to pay an entrance fee. Things book up fast, so I made sure to book the earliest possible for the date I wanted. Even then the times were filling it relatively quick. The ambiance is nice and cozy. Even with our reservation and empty tables all over we waiting 15min for our table "to be ready". Those are small annoyances though. The restaurant is very clean, inviting, and seems like a nice place. The tables have candles on them. We sat at a small table that had one chair and the other seat was a bench next to the window. Note: You may feel chilly sitting next to the windows in winter lol High Points: The food and our waiter. Our waiter was very friendly and offered good suggestions and alternatives for the menu. My husband is picky, so they did simplify what he ordered - I think it was an elk steak with mashed potatoes. I had a risotto which was pretty tasty, and a toasted coconut thing for dessert. I got an Italian cream soda there, that drink was delicious and I refilled a few times lol. Someone teach me to make those! We left full and relatively happy for date night. Annoyances: Fee to get inside the park. Parking is down a small slope from the entrance, you have to walk or use their valet. All-in-all nice place, the food is where it's at. Good for a romantic date that you're willing to empty your wallet on.

Clint Jensen

Wow! What a place, high quality on all fronts. Best Bavette in town, I will be back.

Joe Wood

Food was not very good. Service was good. Expected food to be a lot better than it was. Won’t be coming back

Ryan Richardson

A blast and very beautiful

James Hudspeth

Amazing staff and beautiful venue. Our daughter's wedding couldn't have been better and Faith and her team answered all our questions and made the day an amazing event.

Adam Allen

We go every year on our anniversary. Food is excellent and the setting is very hard to beat. Service is also good but this time the host staff gave us attitude for arriving without a reservation on a Wednesday with many open tables it was out of line.

Michelle Minder

Was here for a wedding, and what a beautiful venue! The couple was married in a gorgeous amphitheater surrounded by mountains and trees. The dinner took place on the patio of a lovely log cabin, with such amazing scenery. On top of that, the dinner service was outstanding! The appetizers and every course of the meal were prepared wonderfully and the staff was incredible. This place has fantastic scenery for photo ops so make sure to get plenty of pictures!

Caleb Andrews

Very rare meat and service at my company party was a bit neglectful. I could see how this place would be nice for a date, but don’t take a large group here because it gets very crowded in the restaurant very quickly. In the end, the nice cabin vibes aren’t enough to make up for the lesser quality food.

Sena Belgard

Very disappointed with our visit to log haven. The scenery is beautiful, but the food was not. Restaurant was fraudulently selling escolar (an oil fish that can give you diarrhea) as butterfish. They are NOT the same thing. My partner and I left disappointed and will never return. It was a waste of money to pay what we did for what we were served. I had a stomach ache for the rest of the night due to the fish and was grateful that I’m not pregnant, since escolar is a mackerel and pregnant women should not consume, but since it was being advertised differently by the waiter I would have had no idea.

Nathan O'Bryant

Wonderful food and atmosphere, I especially loved the live jazz musicians! If you are tired of the same old types of food, go here and have your mind blown with never before experienced depth of flavors!

chloe wawerek

Understatement as best restaurant in salt lake...its the best restaurant in utah by far! Great atmosphere in a superb forest setting. The place to take friends, family or loved ones to impress. The price was not as bad as expected and the food was delicious as were the amazing drinks. Must recommend to anyone!

Daniel Lancaster, LCSW

The food is good and the ambiance is even better. I spent the evening enjoying tuna tartare and an elk steak while staring at craggy waterfall. Our server was knowledgeable and had an engaging personality. Not to mention that we weren't rushed through our meal, all of which made for an amazing evening with friends.

Jorge Saiz

I went to my cousin wedding and they take your car keys to park it for you i had 2 pairs of sunglasses i was wearing one pair and I left the other pair in the truck .. but I noticed the next day that the other pair it was gone .. thats sad that they dont have honest employees!!! So if you go here be careful what you leave before and check right after you get your car back ..

Randy White

Corporate event that was handled quite well. With several other events at the same time. Great atmosphere.

Arly Eysser

Scenery and atmosphere are incredible. Good food selection and tasty.

Kati Ditty

It was an absolutely amazing and beautiful place for a wedding reception, however it was a little tight and not a whole lot of room. Parking is a little questionable. I had to park farther up the canyon. But if you are at an even there, they do offer parking/valet vouchers.

BobbyD Dintelman

My wife and I took a hike up the Dog Lake trail and then on our way down Millcreek Canyon we stopped for dinner at Log Haven. What a delight! We started off with Brachetto d'Acqui (sparkling rose) which was very refreshing. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was cozy yet elegant and was made even better by a jazz pianist and stand up bass player. After our pre dinner drinks we shared the southwest caesar salad. It was excellent and somewhat spicy, which suits our taste. For our entree we had the chef's special New York steak, medium rare, accompanied by very thinly sliced potatoes and other vegetables that were baked in a delicious sauce. The steak was cooked to perfection! We also each had a glass of the Carol Shelton Cabernet ("Wild Thing") which was quite excellent. Overall, a wonderful, romantic dinner. We highly recommend Log Haven!

Dramatis Personae

Very polite and accommodating staff. Beautiful century old mansion in a perfect mountain setting. Pick a season, it'll be awesome.

Asher Wry

A bit pricey and out of the way, but the food, atmosphere and service is excellent once you're there and enjoying a romantic evening on the patio, literally in the forest, so cool! It has a cottage feel and they have very creative desserts as well.

Craig Davis

Ambience made the whole experience something will never forget!

Amit Abershitz

Top notch quality. Interesting meat dishes. We had a bison dish and an elk dish, both were masterfully cooked.

Mathieu Greenwood

A perfect 5 of 5! From the ambiance, service, meal quality, and the surrounding nature landscape there were no blemishes or imperfections in this restaurant. Their wine list was wonderful and we ordered a nice bottle of Cab Franc from the Finger Lakes region that was very much enjoyed. I ordered the Smoked Goose Pappardalle and was blown away. For dessert, I couldn't pass up and ordered their pineapple upside cake paired with some ice cream. It was fine dining at its best!

Dmytro Kovalenko

Visiting Log Haven was a great experience. Nice and quiet atmosphere all around. Having watched a couple of ducks playing on the small waterfall on the patio. The waiter was so helpful getting is though their exquisite menu. The first appetizer we got was tuna tartare and it was the best one I've ever had. So flavourful. Such a perfect balance of all flavours and textures. Main courses were impressive as well. I liked their approach in serving rice in form of rice cake which added crispy texture to the dish. Highly recommend this place.

Apollo Harden

From the moment you step out of your car, you enter a great experience. The location, the bartender’s magic (Duncan), a nice walk around the property while waiting for our table, the knowledge and attentiveness of the wait staff (Kelsey), the nirvana from the chefs creations and the satisfaction felt as you leave. A joyful restaurant to experience. The four of us walked away with a memory. Thank you Log Haven.

Sharon Bloor

Good, pricey for a special occasion. Beautiful ambiance

Liam Caramello

The food here was delicious, the atmosphere was rich, and aside from one encounter, the staff was fantastic and friendly

N Brown

Let me start by explaining the 3-Stars. The location, seating, and mountain area are all 5-Star. However, it is the food, service, and ambience of the restaurant that pull it down to 3-Stars for me. The seating is VERY close together, and makes it very difficult if not impossible to have a conversation one-on-one. The piano that is playing in the background is playing VERY loudly, and not only loud but playing super weird music for a high-end restaurant; playing show tunes, the theme song of MASH and disney music. My biggest concern is the quality and quantity of food you get. Their plate of nachos for $15 as an appetizer would maybe be enough for a child. The main dishes vary from $30-$75 each, and the bison was maybe 4oz with some strange corn and pasta side. The wood cabin theme is carried throughout the place, and is very dimly lit; trying to be romantic, but when I turned on the light on my cell phone you could see stains/spill in the carpet, dent and dings all over, and the quality was readily apparent that this is not 5-Stars. Our server each time has seemed to be very timid and withdrawn, never checking on us or our drinks/needs more than 2 times, so be prepared to have to go find someone to help you with your needs versus having them come around to make sure you are OK; something that even Chik-fil-A manages to do MUCH better than this place. Needless to say, we have been twice, and will most likely not be back, but invest the $100+ dinner somewhere else.

Tyler Hogan

I only delivered an Amazon package to this business but the veiw from out side was spectacular.

Nick Rosenthal

Beautiful restaurant with excellent service and outstanding food. The location is gorgeous and the waterfall across the street was enjoyable before and after dinner. Everyone in out party of six enjoyed their food and the dessert was incredible. Highly recommend a visit for a fancy dinner or occasion worthy of celebration.

Pamella Jacobson

This place was awesome. Cynthiana was our server. Gave us suggestions. Answered all our questions. Our first time there. The decor was beautiful. We will definitely come back.

Hannah Anastasio

I was excited to try This place. Saw all good reviews and I always love a good steak! This place has an amazing view going for it and a beautiful building but that's about it. Food was under par for me. I won't be back. Prices are fine and I'm willing to pay for good food however, scallops were bland. No flavor, peas were not cooked and seemed dry. Just not a good experience at all .

Teresa

We recently took my parents here for their 65th wedding anniversary. While the service and atmosphere was wonderful the food was not. I was very disappointed with the quality for the price. The halibut was small, thin and subsequently overcooked. Served on a bed of puréed potatoes that were very tasteless. I would love to see this establishment change their chef as the potential is definitely with the site. Sadly we won't return for the current food.

Benton Paterson

Fantastic experience and very allergy-friendly.

Marlena Hovhannisyan

The location is awesome. They had beautiful patio with perfect view. The food is unbelievable .Also they had delicious desserts.Staff is very kind and friendly.Perfect place for romantic dinner.

Jodi Lewis

The food was great and the atmosphere was equally amazing. There's a waterfall off the back patio.

Sharon

My husband and I went for our anniversary dinner. The food was delicious and gorgeous on the plate. Our waitress, Cynthia, was friendly, helpful, answered all our questions and offered alternatives when something didn't work, and generally made our experience even better. She also graciously took pictures for us at the table. All in all, it was a great night. We would happily return. (There was an issue with bees at the table, but I can't fairly blame the wildlife on the restaurant, lol)

Alex Henricks

If you like good food and great scenery, Log Haven is the place for you! Located up Millcreek Canyon, Log Haven offers a quiet place where you can enjoy fine dining. Their menu has many options and some stuff you don't see that often (elk). I had a steak and it was amazing. The scenery is beautiful. Fresh air and gorgeous views of Millcreek Canyon make the drive worth it. You can expect to spend anywhere from $25 - $50 a plate but it's worth it. Don't forget dessert too....they change on a regular basis but I've never been disappointed.

Dave McCormick

Beautiful location and great food. The building is a really rustic restored private home, truly amazing. I've heard there's been a couple of movies filmed here! Dave the Chef is legendary and the building and grounds are always kept in top shape.

Elijah Quartey

One of my all-time favorite restaurants. Customer is bar none, exquisite venue and spectacular food that will keep you coming back.

Amber Kennedy

One of my favorite restaurants in the valley. Good is always great, just be prepared for a $80 or more kind of special date.

This place was perfect for my engagement with the waterfall just in front of the restaurant! Perfect little deck by the waterfall for a small acoustic jazz band that I hired to be playing there. After the “Of course” answer to my proposal we had a dinner reservation at Log Haven and with the jazz band that’s there on The weekends it made the food even better! We had appetizers instead of dinner plates and man they were so good! The waiter was the best waiter that either or us have ever had. I give this place, its staff and it’s food five star hands down!

This place is amazing and has so much charm and character!

My husband and I recently dined here for our anniversary. The location is amazing, be sure to sit outside if you can! I ordered the lemon arugula salad, pepper seared 44 Farms filet, s'mores bread pudding and my husband ordered the Korean cauliflower, risotto and chocolate tart. I also ordered the "Georgia on my mind" non-alcoholic drink and loved the complex flavors! My husband's Italian soda was also very bright and deeply flavored. The salad was great with bright flavors, and the Korean cauliflower was very good, but perhaps a little large of a serving if you're ordering as an individual appetizer. I loved my steak! It was perfectly cooked, nicely seasoned, good portion size, and the mashed potatoes and asparagus that went along with it were also superb. You could really taste the smokiness of the fire used to grill the asparagus! My husband's risotto was perfectly cooked and tasted like elevated comfort food. The s'mores bread pudding was a good bread pudding, but lacked the toasted marshmallow and graham cracker flavors I was hoping for. My husband's chocolate tart was better and was a very deep dark chocolate. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and loved the ambiance, service and food. I would go again for another special occasion.

Our server Ali was also five star!

The canyon scenery, ambience, and of course the food.. are reasons enough for you to make a reservation here. Some people shy away from up-scale dining in part because of the often dismal portion sizes. But i assure you we did not leave unsatisfied. The elk sirloin wrapped in bacon was particularly noteworthy. Also the fried cauliflower. Cheers.

Best place in salt lake City for an intimate night out. A bit pricey but worth it.

This is one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. Get the upside down cake. Everything here is fabulous from the wait staff to the atmosphere. Can't recommend it enough. Worth every penny.

A log cabin in the woods....what a great atmosphere. The elk was excellent and so were the appetizers. If you like an old fashioned, they make a good one.

Santiago Guerra

My good friend got married there and let me say... wow amazing location. An escape from the world with those you cherish memories with.

Everything about Log Have is absolutely stunning. The service is nothing but perfect and the food is to die for!! Tucked up in the beautiful Millcreek Canyon, the whole atmosphere is toned down and more relaxed, which makes it the perfect place for a dinner date! Log Haven definitely has something special and I would recommend to anyone and everyone looking, not only to eat amazing food, but to also get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Great place with a magnificent views, one of the only one that offer elk dishes. So good!!!

Doug Campbell

Excellent food. Even better was the staff. Extremely accommodating and friendly. Well worth the drive and we will return.

Location is superb if you can catch daylight. Atmosphere is cozy. Wine list ok but they couldn't give great suggestions or speak on it. Calamari must order. Salads overdressed, skip the lemon salad. The scallops are the best thing on the menu by far. Kids portions are generous. If you have a birthday you must call ahead and ask for specific details. Overall it was a nice meal but they really could shine with better personable service. The manager in the red tie couldn't wait to get rid of us.

Beautiful views, great place for a wedding or party, and yes, the restaurant has delicious food too.

If you are looking for wedding perfection this is the place. My son and daughter-in-law were married here recently and from the ceremony venue, to the plated luncheon for 65 people everything was seen to and managed to perfection. I have never worked with such amazing and wonderful crew. The cost is also an incredible value for the 5 Star level of service, food and atmosphere. It feels like we have encountered a secret magical treasure. We can't say enough about how much we loved this experience from start to finish!! Bravo!!

My husband and I went to Log Haven to celebrate our anniversary and didn’t have the best experience. He had the bison steak which he thought was good but not good enough for the price. I struggled to choose something, as choices were minimal (not even a simple steak option) and decided on the salmon, based on the waiter’s recommendation. The fish had been coated in a honey sauce and had no salt or other seasoning. It came with some sort of sweet mash and something fried that was also slightly sweet. The entire plate was so sickeningly sweet that I only ate half of my food and then had to go eat somewhere else immediately after. This is our second time here. The first time the food was better but still not amazing. I wish they would get a better chef because the location is so beautiful and I would love to go more often, but I won’t pay these prices to then have to spend more elsewhere after leaving dissatisfied.

Some of the best food, service and atmosphere of any restaurant I have ever been to. Perfect for special nights.

Mariana Anderson

The food was so good, so good. The hummus they make and their roll was amazing, I had the Alpine Nachos and I will forever crave those. I also had the Filet Mignon, it was served with the most sweet peas I have ever had. Definitely worth the price.

Wonderful dining experience. Great service. Very pleasant ambiance.

Gabriel Jacoway

There was a wedding the night we went, this caused the service to be slow, and the food to be sub par. Please keep your total kitchen load within acceptable means to support the level of quality your customers expect. You cannot expect sub par service and food to fly at a place you might easily spend over 100$ a person.

Carol Warnick

The food, music and atmosphere is all amazing. The staff is wonderful and the scenery is beautiful. We went for a birthday celebration, I can't wait to go back.

Perfect place to take your significant other on your Anniversary / Honeymoon

Tomilynn Clark

Wonderful meal. Everything about this was exceptional except the waiter who was completely scripted and robot like...that was weird. Overall if in SLC you should go.

RAM RANCH

Typical bland no flavor Utah experience and I haven’t even started on the food. Come full and pregamed. Just order a cup of water as even that will cost you an arm and a leg and enjoy the views.

Debbie Ess

I am old enough to remember my parents going to Log Haven for a special evening out. I also remember when the Log Haven fell into sad times. Yet I had never been here myself until now. Reviews led us to the drive up Millcreek Canyon and a memorable (in all the right ways) Anniversary dinner. The menu was inventive, delicious. The service was impeccable. The view was beautiful - next time we'll schedule our visit for sunset!

Andrew Fram

Absolutely stunning part of the world. Hidden up in the hills is this amazing location. Staff where very friendly and explained the menu well. The menu had a good selection and what I ate was perfectly cooked. Food delivery is a little slow, but this just helps add to the nice relaxed atmosphere. Perfect for a date or just a fantastic meal with anyone. Not necessarily ideal for children.

Maritza Mestre-Touma

Whoa. This place was great. Went there for a Halloween special dinner. The staff was dressed up and it was so evident they like where they work! The food was great, price was reasonable, service was outstanding.
