Consistently solid choice for delicious Mexican food, with some "authentic" gems mixed in with the more common fare. The only gripe I have is that the pork in the Chile Verde tends to be on the dry side. The other dishes don't disappoint.

Great food, fun atmosphere, full bar. Service was a little slow but I came in during a slow time. I also liked that they brought out bean dip with the chips and salsa AND that they were cheaper than a lot of the other Mexican places in the area.

In the 2+ years we have lived in the area this has become on of our two favorite sit-down Mexican restaurants that reminds us of the ones we like in SoCal. The service is friendly, prompt, reasonably priced, authentic, and great quality food. I particularly like their carne asada and Chile rellenos. Really good chips and salsa and they serve them with warm refries beans

Entered for the first time, noone was at the front so I waited awkwardly for a few minutes. Was then sat down, and brought the complementary dishes. I think k they forgot they actually had a customer? I finished all the chips and salsa before they got back to me. Brought out an AMAZING size portion of nachos, stacked so perfectly that food didn't fall off wastefully. Ended up taking half of it home in a go box. Food good. Service was very slow

I have only visited this location once before, but their location near Draper had me hooked. This place has some of the best Mexican food, some of the more obscure dishes (my mother is fond of some Colorado dish she can't find nearly anywhere but here). I have never had any issues with staff or service or food. I'll definitely return when I can.

Look pretty and fun, but in my opinion Average Mexican food. I live right down the street and been meaning to come here for a while, but was a bit disappointed. It wasn’t bad but not great. Very fun environment and it seems to always be busy so don’t trust me give it a try obviously it appeals to a lot of people.

La Costa is the bomb. I've been going to this restaurant ever since they opened across the street at Sandy Mall. It's turned into the go-to place to have lunch with family. All the servers recognize me every time I've gone in over the years and Are Over the Top accommodating. Everything on the menu is fantastic and they are very well priced for the quality of food. I don't think they need much help from me or my review being the fact they are always busy with a good crowd.

I got a chili verde burrito. The flavor was just 3 stars but I give the restaurant an extra star overall because they start you out with chips, salsa, and refried beans, the service was great, the food came quickly, it was piping hot (which I love), and they were generous portion sizes. With the discount using the starving student card, it was really affordable too!!

I liked that they gave chips salsa and beans. The atmosphere is good but what we ordered was way over priced for what we got. There were small pieces that were great like the grilled chicken in my burrito was delicious but the burrito over all was very plain and disappointing. The carne asada was seasoned great but the quality of the steak wasnt that good. When i pay about $15 for a burrito im expecting to get at least rice and beans on the side and more than just rice and meat in the burrito. If the food was cheaper i would definitely give more stars. But at the price right now its pretty disappointing.

Not impressed. Cheap cheese, mediocre service and strange salsa. I don't know if we caught it on an odd day but I felt the servers were generally unatentive and the food was poor. My wife got a chicken taco and the chicken was rubbery and difficult to chew. We had steak nachos and a steak burrito as well. The stake was very fatty and grisly and tasty as thought it was cooked a day ago and then reheated. My favorite part was the chips and beans unfortunately. Lastly the water taste off and is either not being filtered or there was still detergent in the line from a previous cleaning session that want rinsed properly.

Just left the restaurant about 5 minutes ago. Shocked by the bill. The worst $50 I’ve ever spent in my life. My server gave me what “everyone comes here for.” A steak burrito. And it was terrible. Presentation was horrendous. But the food was just flat out nasty. The drink I got was also disgusting. Service was not good either. Currently sitting close to the toilet. Save your time and money and go somewhere else so you won’t get sick. Very poor quality food.

I had the “recommended" steak burrito $15. It was big, but wasn't very good. Not a lot of flavor. I have been here once before but, I forgot and came back. They have pretty good service and try hard, but I just don't like the food that I have had.

Above the curve, sit down Mexican joint with some tasty food. I am always loathe to try a new full service Mexican restaurant because of how many times I have walked away disappointed. I have to admit that I really did like this place. Some of the dishes are a bit bland, but overall it really did hit home. This is not the most authentic Mexican food around, but you enjoy the food for what it is. The staff was friendly an attentive. Our drinks were never in danger of going dry. Service was quick and the place was clean. plenty of seating as well. Prices are a bit higher than expected, but I felt the value was there. Plenty of parking. Egress is not as bad as it may initially appear.

Fast and delicious lunch. My first visit to this restaurant. Came at noon, was immediately seated and given fresh salsa, beans and chips. Ordered the chicken and beef fajitas. Came out sizzling with onions, bell peppers, flour tortillas. The perfect amount of food for the price. I would come back to this restaurant again.

Why have I never stopped in here before? Took a look a the chips, beans, and salsa that were brought out and thought, "hmmm that looks real good", my first dip and I thought "ok, that was VERY good, this is a promising start. And the rest of the meal did not disappoint. Will definitely be back soon for the carne asada plate that looks amazing, and the arroz con pollo. .if you have not dropped in here, do yourself a favor and go out of your way if you have to. Legit good...

I used to really enjoy coming here but it had been a while until yesterday. The service was quite slow, although it wasn't too busy, the portions were small (the burrito want even full), and the prices weren't competitive considering the portion sizes. I do like that they offer beans with the chips and salsa. Probably won't be visiting again anytime soon.

I got two tamales; pork chile verde, and beef (that one had a kick to it). They were a good size, and we're tasty! The chips and salsa and beans that they bring at the beginning were good, but not phenomenal. Service was great. Just don't touch the plates when they bring them out! They are often scalding hot. Overall, I'd recommend this place!

It took almost an hour after being seated to get our full order taken, and the drink orders weren't even taken in the first half hour. This was the worst mexican place ever. We don't understand how this place received good ratings. My friend ordered a burrito with shredded chicken. The chicken tasted like it was out of a can. Mine was with carne asade. The meat tasted like cheap chinese food. Even the tortilla tasted like it was fake and cheap. We requested lettuce and pico de gallo because the burritos were awful and plain. They charged me about 3 bucks for that without telling me beforehand. We expressed that we didn't like the food. But they didnt even say sorry or anything. Also the price was ridiculous. I paid 15 bucks for my carne asada burrito and my friend paid 12 bucks. My friend had a bite and I ate 1/3 and we left very unhappy. We are at Costa Vida eating our salads here. We never leave reviews, but we needed to this time for sure to warn you all. Very very poor experience over all!

This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. However, I don't eat there near as often as I would like because the prices are a bit higher than most and others also serve larger portions. That being said, in my humble opinion, it has the best flavor, friendliest waitresses and a great atmosphere. I would have giving this place a 5-Star rating if the pricing was a bit lower. Definitely worth it if you've never eaten here before or for a special occasion.

The food is good... But not good enough to have prices as high as they do. Burritos hear cost between 12-15 dollars that you can get at any other restaurants for 6-9. If you don't mind the pricing. It's a good place.
