We wanted someplace different for our family Christmas dinner and decided on La Caille. It was decorated for Christmas and was absolutely beautiful! The service was very good. The food was good, but definitely overpriced. I’d return for a very special occasion knowing it’s the service and ambiance I’m paying for and not the quality of the food. Expect to pay approximately $100.00 per couple without tip per couple for breakfast. Dinner is much more expensive.

One of Utah's best kept secrets. The food was amazing! The grounds were spectacular and breathtaking. It felt like a little slice of heaven away from the hustle of the city but not to far away from home. I can't say enough about the quality of food here the meals came out perfectly to order and was almost as beautiful as our waitress Madison. I found my new favorite place!

Danielle Cox

Always a fantastic experience! Be sure to walk around the grounds for a romantic evening. Great food! Array of menu options. Ambiance is like none other. Absolutely breath taking.

David

Visited La Caille for a wedding luncheon recently. The setting was absolutely beautiful. The food was also delicious.

Melissa Andrea Gutiérrez

This place was quite the experience! It’s set in some beautiful grounds I recommend walking around before or after dinner. The servers there were all very nice. It’s set in a cute area. I was surprised to see people dress so casually for dinner! We celebrated our anniversary early so we dressed up, but people came in jeans and t-shirts too (Utahns have a weird habit of dressing down at nice places, like weddings). They gave us a fun dessert with a sparkler on it for our anniversary. This is definitely a great place to go for a very romantic, upscale dinner to celebrate some milestone. Only come here if you have about 2.5-3 hours to spare for dinner and nowhere to be right after. They can get quite busy in the evening. We made the mistake of planning something for two hours after our dinner appointment, when we really should have allotted ourselves 2.5-3 hours for dinner instead. The reason I gave this 4 stars rather than 5 was because while it was good, it wasn’t out-of-this-world amazing for me, which makes me feel it’s overpriced. My husband and I have lived all over the world and eaten all sorts of food, coming from a family of chefs at Michelin-star restaurants and restaurant owners, so we’re not averse to spending a pretty penny on great food. While I’m glad we came here once for the experience and setting, I don’t really feel the need or desire to come back here. Our bill was a little over $300 for 2 adults, for reference. We got a couple of appetizers and 2 entrees. Good food, but not my favorite food ever. I guess part of the high price includes the experience, not just the food. I still recommend coming here if you’ve been dying to try it! It’s an experience. Everyone has a different taste.

Always a great experience.

I love this place is amazing,

Bill Griffiths

We went here to check this out for a possible wedding venue. The place is amazing. We loved the food and the ambience. The grounds are beautiful. We checked out the green house as a wedding reception had just ended. Simply a beautiful place, everything was done wonderfully and elegantly.

Xia Vang

Food is good and beautiful location setting

Shalana Bryant

Excellent food and overall experience. Nothing compares.

Adam Kaas

Amazing dishes, breathtaking views, and fantastic staff.

Laura Candida Meyer

The tri tip was perfect, staff excellent. I didn't like the fish or sides very much.

Terrilee Fitz

II normally don't like to write bad reviewed but I had to this time. We went for Valentine's. Food was under cooked for three of thethe f of us and had to go back to be cooked longer. Servers seemed like they were in training. They brought us the wrong plates to each person at the table. The whole experience was really disappointing. We spent $1000. For dinner for four, which included a nice bottle of wine, but that's the last time we are going there. Expected so much more. The meat was raw, scallops under cooked and just not impressed all the way around. And for that price, it should have been great. My son went that night also and had the same experience...

Adrienne Hatch

Went for brunch with a group of friends we knew it was expensive and we were excited for the experience and delicious food. The waiter was condescending to us making jokes that we wouldn’t get expensive things on the menu I suppose because we were young married couples. The food was good. I got the French toast. We ordered dessert and the waiter made a joke that he bet no one would get dessert cause we were cheap or something but I expect excellent service wether your 12 or 60 yrs old and I didn’t receive that and we all dropped $100 a meal for brunch. Probably won’t be back

Elise Christensen

I always love being taken here the food is so good the people the staff are great and the grounds are a joy to walk around. I love this environment

Lindsey Hector

The meat wasn't cooked evenly, and it wasn't seasoned. I've gotten MUCH better food at cafes in Paris for less than $20. The dress code wasn't enforced so it's not like I paid the extra money for the atmosphere to watch a family in basketball shorts walk by. Severely overpriced for what you get.

Yamaira Flores

Food was delicious, service was excellent and the place is absolutely beautiful, totally recommended

Hannahlora Carli

I have only come to La Caille for their Saturday/Sunday brunch because their dinner is really pricey for my budget and the brunch menu is cheaper and just as delicious. Every time we come, we leave very impressed and their brunch menu is AMAZING and the sticky buns you get with the meal alone are worth it. The experience you get here is unlike any other restaurant in Utah. We always come here to celebrate our anniversary because you feel like you're in europe! The atmosphere alone is worth the brunch, as well as the walk on the grounds after. Pure magic!

Evan Smith

You can’t beat the scenery and ambience. The service was great. The food, however…fell flat. Nice place for a party, but not necessarily for dinner.

Khai Tran

Nah. The atmosphere may be exceptional, and the surroundings, decoration also but you pay for it. The price is beyond my league and not really my taste. Once , to know.

madison Tolman

Beautiful place anytime of year. Fantastic and friendly staff. If you haven't been you should definitely go

Andres Hernandez

Food this time was pretty underwhelming. Not as good as before.

Robyn Seely

The grounds are lovely. The inside of the building hasn't been updated since they opened in the 70s; the paint on the walls is yellowed and there is an overabundance of greenery, statuary, and furniture attempting to cover the cracks and peels. Worse, we watched the roof leak all evening, just a few feet away from my chair. Be warned: a canceled reservation will cost you $50 per person. The service was more familiar and jovial than I expected and wanted. The food was good, but not $80-per-person good. We were under the impression that this was a fancy, upscale place, but most of the patrons were in jeans at the dinner hour. Almost every table had small children, and we were "interested" to see that the restaurant caters to children with a kids menu and plastic drink cups like you find at a burger joint. Again, the food was good, but not good enough for the price, and the interior wasn't as nice as I had been led to believe. We won't be back.

nefhilim16

Always enjoy visiting the service is excellent and the food always exceeds expectation

Kris Barney

Best French restaurant in Utah by far.

GAEN Development

The food is great but expensive

Danyon Greymoon

All right so if you thinking about going here throw out any notion of money. This place is probably one of the most expensive places in the valley. However it is entirely worth it, dining here will make you feel like you are royalty. I have to say I have never had fancy French food delivered to me on a nice spring day with live peacocks walking around. They also have fun events here, the one that I went to was a Bastille day celebration with a seven course meal and each course was paired with its own wine. The presentation of the dishes here are great they do a lot of table side preparation like cutting your steak for you, or lighting your desserts on fire. walking around the place while you're waiting to be seated is very romantic. I've been here with my now wife multiple times and never been disappointed. So I would highly recommend going if you have the extra dollars laying around, just don't forget to rub the walrus tusk on the way out. It's good luck.

Esther Calkin

The best french restaurant that I know of. The grounds are beautiful, definitely gives me french vibes. And the cuisine is absolutely divine. I came here on a school trip 2 years in a row and they did not disappoint. Though is might be a little expensive, its definitely worth it.

Jared Miles

Tucked away in the foothills of Sandy, in the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon is this wonderful French chateau. Serving French cuisine that's pleasing to the eye and tantalizing to the taste buds. An upscale dining experience with a professional wait staff, that sits on 20 acres of fairytale like grounds, that are as beautiful as the entrees. Bring your spouse for a magical evening.

Ted Nehls

Just a beautiful setting. Staff is amazing, food is to die for. Next time I am in Utah definitely will go back

Jessica Pettit

Beautiful, fancy place perfect for special occasions! You can expect to spend at least $50 per plate, not including tips for the waiter, parking valet, and coat check. The food is delicious and gorgeous. The grounds are beautiful. We spent a romantic anniversary evening here.

Jack Frazier

No place like this exists! Service is always impeccable and food is top chef status! The grounds are out of a fairy tale. Love.

Alexandre Barcellos

Amazing place! Great service.

Greg

Excellent food and service! Beautiful grounds.

Kim Potts

I went on 7/17/19 for my anniversary. This place has amazing food and beatiful grounds . Honestly felt magical. Treat yourself to this experience!

Thomas Herbert

Wonderful atmosphere and wonderful service. Waiters are knowledgeable and interact professionally with all patrons. There are over 100 peacocks that roam the property. They also have their own winery and all foods are fresh from local farms or from their own greenhouse. Totally worth the price. Any special occasion should be done at La Caille.

Moe D

Blah. I guess if you like eating goose liver pate, escargot, and fish eggs you'll love it. I hated that your sitting so close to all the other dinners and are immersed in their conversation. I ordered the caprese salad, steak and bananas foster for dessert. Mehh. This place goes down with one of my top money wasting regrets.

GreenEmoTea

Went for s school event with Mueller Park Junior High... Main Entree was cold and very bland. The Sorbet ant the Chocolate mousse were my favorite part... along with their bread.

Carmen Barrios

Delicious food, great service, beautiful surroundings, peaceful and romantic. Just the perfect place!

Brandt Skillin

Really nice.

Nina Gammello

Just beautiful. Food was very good. Staff courteous

Quynh Nhu Dao

Having done wedding events here, I pushed to be a guest. While I realize it's often reserved for special occasions, it was now or never. We just came from climbing, and a true mark of great hospitality is how well a restaurant treats its patrons. In scrub clothes, covered in chalk, they seated us and waited upon us without discernable judgement. Impressed by service, we considered the $14,999.99 bottle of wine, flown directly from France the moment we order. My mate settled on the escargot experience this round.

Kirstie DiTomasso

Beautiful atmosphere. Delicious food. They even brought us out a free dessert for our anniversary with a very cool sparkler style candle.

G Johnson

Went for "Lights on at LaCaille." It's just festive to drive up the brick road with tree trunks all lit up. Inside they served yummy cookies and delicious hot chocolate and had a jolly Santa. The water reflecting the lights outside is beautiful as well as the lit fire. The lights behind the restaurant seemed a bit scanty, but so enjoyable.

Barry H

Really good, perfect overall portions. Great service

Ron Gatherum

The service, wait staff and location are all fantastic. It's a beautiful place. The food is fantastic and we love the variety. We were on the patio and got to mingle with the peacocks. They were a bit noisy at times but honestly for me, added fun to the experience.

Abby Clark

Absolutely amazing. Still in shock

Jeremy Toone

Just went for dessert, wine, and the surrounding gardens. Every bit if 5 stars. Cant speak for their food outside of their desserts, because we didn't try any. The building is beautiful. The staff is first class.

Chelcy Bacher

Went here with my husband for my birthday and it was better than words can describe.

Taj Olsen

Absolutely beautiful will definitely be visiting again

Adam Ghafourian

Great Brunch with beautiful grounds.

Jamie Bivens

Beautiful property, I've only been there in the winter however I'm sure that the summer months it's just as great. The lobster bisque is the best that I've ever had. The menu is delicious and the atmosphere is very warm and romantic. We celebrated our engagement night celebration there many years ago and we were just in town a few weeks ago, so we went back for another visit. If you have a special occasion to celebrate, I highly suggest visiting La Caille!

Will Rowe

I have not had it but will have it soon I have heard great things about it

Lynn F

Great ambiance. Great food. Well worth it

Mike Smith

Great food, great service. A very good place for a special occasion.

Bryce DeNovellis

This place is really nice and has the best brunch around. We went for my wife’s birthday and everyone working was really nice and complimented us. Our waiter Trey was really attentive and made sure we knew what we wanted to know. The prices are on the higher side but it is worth every penny. With the views and the food I would highly recommend it.

VenomousStorm 914

Went there for a charity gala. Food was great. First time I have had duck meatballs, they were delicious! Beautiful gardens to walk around.

Samuel Culbertson

This is a place you'll want to go if you demand great service. The staff was great and did everything they could to make our experience a beautiful one, even when things didn't go as planned. Nothing is perfect in the world and sometimes things happen that are outside of anyone's control, but the way a place handles it, tells you what type of establishment you're at. The food was well made, and the French toast was the best I've had. Almost like a dessert in my mind. The grounds and building is gorgeous and worth the trip if only to enjoy the beauty of what the owners have done on the upkeep and landscaping.

Jeff Madsen

Beautiful atmosphere for the wedding. Helpful staff and great food.

Elias Baer

Beautiful grounds, wonderful food, great service. Best fine dining in Salt Lake

Mindy Valerio

Smelled like cat pee and they didn't let me order my stash the way I wanted. It was so rare I couldn't eat it

Maureen Reed

We typically go here for dessert and drinks, and a few times for brunch and a holiday party or two. Never disappointed. The grounds are beautiful; include time for a walk through them if you can.

Taylor Zundel

The food was decent, but not worth the price. The most frustrating part was the service. They were pretty condescending. We had a big group and after eating many were questioning getting a dessert or not and the waiter said he had a running bet with the other employees that we wouldn't buy any dessert. There were comments like that throughout the experience that we're said making it seem like we weren't the type of people that should be eating there. It was super unprofessional, and if I'm paying 100$ for brunch I don't want to be treated that way. As a side note we did end up getting dessert, and was not impressed.

Tally Koren

Service was outstanding but the food was sub par. The grounds were well kept, but honestly for the price I think the food could use some help. This place used to be great, but has gone down hill a little bit in terms of food quality.

Jay Tee

A bit pricey but other than that a great place to eat...

Jaron Clyde

I would NOT recommend this place. Valentine’s date ruined. It took from 6-10 pm to eat there. The food, for the most part, was downright awful. The $75 dry aged special ribeye was so tough, dry, and strange that for the first time in my life I sent it back to the kitchen and didn’t want anything else. My wife’s $68 steak, while good, was supposed to be medium rare and the center of it was bleu rare. The soups and salads were bad besides the lobster bisque. The butter was salty. The bill was $200. That being said, the atmosphere was nice, the staff was nice, and they were considerate of allergies so they get two stars. Don’t go here.

Glen Wagner

Amazing atmosphere. Beautiful restaurant, grounds and views. The food and service are also great!

Charlie Meyers

A wonderful dinner and experience. Our server was very knowledgeable and helpful in getting just the right meal. Loved it!

Asher Wry

the grounds here are beautiful and set the stage for a great evening. the food and service were top notch. this is a place to dine to impress people and enjoys the comforts of luxury. expensive compared to most places, but worth every penny.

Kristi Kent

You can’t find a better place to go for a nice evening! The food was the best I’ve ever had and the service was impeccable! It is the one place we don’t mind spending more because it is THE perfect eating experience. We will be back!

Tausha Harr

Beat choice for Romantic date night in the area! Be sure to make a reservation as far ahead of time as possible.

Jeremy Willoughby

Absolutely amazing. Everything about this place screams first class. Food was amazing, and the staff was incredibly friendly. Our server Chris was quick but still relaxed and professional.

Clint Severson

La caille epitomizes French cuisine and had really stepped up their game. Super impressed after nearly a year since last visit. Tre magnifique!

Sierra marvin

Wow wow , best experience I ever had . Awesome place to have dinner. Happy to visit again

Sal Giani

Is hands down the most amazing, delicious and memorable dining experience in Utah! Completely worth every penny

Eric Petersen

I'd heard of this place for years and and was honestly a bit disappointed. The food was okay, not great The atmosphere is a bit dated. The service was good though.

Kyle Zollinger

Food is just ok, not worth the price by itself, but the building, grounds, and general ambience are incredible. Definitely worth the money.

ishara Ariyasinghe

Amazing place and awesome food...

Jody Burgoyne

Absolutely love La Caille!! My husband proposed to me here and we dine here for special occasions including Easter and Mother’s Day brunch. If your visiting it’s a must see! Even if you don’t dine in you should at the very least visit and walk the grounds. Make sure to bring your camera!! Spring and summer are the prettiest times of year to visit

Nicole Manwaring

Everything at La Caille is fantastic! They grow a lot of their own ingredients, the atmosphere is very classy. Sitting outdoors you may have a family of peacocks wander past you. My absolute favorite thing at La Caille is the filet mignon with foyot sauce. That dish is heaven!

Anton Roy

My favorite place to brunch in the 801. Beautiful grounds, fantastic service and good food at a reasonable price.

Dylan & Delia Chatwin

The atmosphere here is second to none. So good in fact that I decided to marry the woman of my dreams here :) The service rendered to us that day as well as every time we’ve dined here has been absolutely superb. If you’re thinking about using them for your wedding venue, I can honestly say it was probably the only entirely perfect day I’ve had in my life and the beauty of the entire place as well as their impeccable service contributed to that greatly. If you’re on the fence about them, get off the fence, and climb down to this magical retreat :)

Andrew Wright

La Caille isn't just a restaurant, it's an experience. A most excellent experience. The staff was amazing and so was the food. If you're in the mood for escargot, lobster bisque, and filet mignon, then check out La Caille. While this is one of the most expensive restaurants around, it is definitely worth the price you pay.

Mark McOmie

Fantastic food the service is incredible and the facility is beautiful. Enjoy yourself for an evening here come with friends and give the escargot a try it is amazing. The food is truly 5 star. The grounds are fun to look at arrive early to walk around a little before your reservation.

Rachel J

Beautiful location and delicious food! I chaperoned a school trip and we had a great experience.

M Al

Stay away from this place and don't spend money on the worst food in town. I am confused by so many good reviews. These people must not know what good food is. From appetizer to dessert the food was horrible. The restaurant is outdated and the service is far from great.

JP801UTAH

was such a great food and what a great experience .

Samuel Lindsay

The food is amazing a great five star expirence

Luke Copa

Has good food but takes a while

I know people might be disappointed about this review but it is my honest opinion and I'm just trying to help without disrespecting anybody's opinion, so here we go. I think this place is overrated so read below: -This place is beautiful in the summer, yes it has a nice landscape and outside architecture. -Main building is very nice but it is time for remodeling. Floors, walls and furniture. -Prices are high and that is just based on a good rep. built over the years. -Food presentation and taste is very average based on 4 star restaurant I think. -Restrooms are way too small for the number of occupancy per floor level. (Based on building code see IBC Book). -I think the smell during the winter (snow times) can come from wet rugs from people coming in and/or from the old furniture. Areas in the building during the summer are the same. Again old furniture and old rugs. Anyway, no disrespect to people who love this place but I think it is overrated and way overpriced. Try it just to have the experience and you decide. Thanks

Eden Mckee

Great spot for tasty French food. Two thumbs up for this place. I will be back with my friends. It has a nice interior. If it wasn't far from my work I would come by more.

2 Much Beauty

Went for a field trip for my class Food 1 and had a blast! Food was great and the lemonade was a hit! Defiantly would go again but it can be a little on the expensive side.

Paul Anderson

I went on a student trip for junior high students and it was really fun. I definitely couldn't afford to go regularly the grounds were really nice in the restaurant was really cute. The students each had to pay $36 which is okay for a culturally interesting experience

Chris Johnston

Can someone please explain to me how this restaurant is even open? You walk in this restaurant and you are immediately welcomed by the smell of cat urine. Then they awkwardly walk you upstairs to a very outdated room with very outdated furniture. The waitstaff were mediocre and they sure do try to sell the fanciness and how the chef designed the menu as a 3 course meal. Ok, however, if I'm going to spend $18 on an appetizer, $18 on a salad, $85 for the cheapest bottle of wine from their private vineyard, and, drum roll, $58 for my entree, my mouth better water and I better be on the verge of a food orgasm because the food is that good. This did not happen at La Caille, not even close. The food was mediocre, at best. I ordered the sea bass and it was cooked well but the stuff paired with it wasn't edible. The chicken was something I could whip up on a school night. To say I'm disappointed with this restaurant is an understatement. The food was blah, the restaurant was dirty, the wine was eh, the service eh. Thank goodness Salt Lake has tons of options now. La Caille, you are going to need to do better or you'll be a memory. But, wait, they have peacocks. Is that why people come here?

DragonLordMJM

The staff were helpful and friendly. The food was exquisite. The beautiful grounds boosted the experience yet more.

Patrick Lumby

Angie Mendenhall

The brunch was delicious

Ron Burbidge Sessions

Breakfast with Santa was real nice. The breakfast was so good especially the French toast, and I love that kids 3 and under eat for free. Service was superb.

Brian Crawley

Pretty tasty food, The experience can be somewhat magical, however we have been disappointed by our waitresses. Most recently we brought our daughter along and she accidentally broke a glass. The waitress was visibly annoyed and treated us like dirt the rest of the evening. not only that but my pork belly was literally not edible, when I told them I was having trouble getting through it, they did not offer any sort of alternative.
