REVIEWS OF KOU-Korean BBQ of Utah IN Utah

Nicole Buffington-Paul

Great food, quick service. All the pork, beef and chicken options were delicious and easy to prepare. The calamari was a bit difficult to cook and cleaning the shrimp took some effort but tasted great. Knocked off a star for lack of seasonal vegetables in the salad and the glass noodle dish. Skip the salad all together, the noodles were still good and worth it.

Dakota Robbins

Always fresh. Always delicious! A great value as well, only $21.99 for all you can eat. Cooking the food yourself is a lot of fun too. I will keep coming back over and over again!

Lagi Ki

I absolutely love this place. I'm very picky when it comes to Korean BBQ. This was my first time at this place and we had Dylan, with his amazing customer service along with everyone else on the team my experience here was a blast. The food was absolutely delicious , high quality. Thank you! You've got now a customer for life. I'm bringing my entire family.

Dirk

This was so delicious, I highly recommend it! Many selections of meats (marinated or unmarinated ). Cook your own meat right in front of you, all you can eat style. Fast and friendly service. Jen was our server, she's extremely nice :) I would say expect to be here for an hour or so. You'll be having such a good time while eating/cooking that time slips by. Plus food comes in as you order it, so it takes some time to eat. Definitely coming back for my birthday

Brian Packer

Good flavors, service has been friendly and sufficient, decent selection.

Wyatt Davis

I haven't had Korean barbeque this good in quite some time. The galbi and dwae ji bulgogi are both worth returning for. I can say that I will be back and I will be bringing my friends and family!

Brandon Denning

Best Korean BBQ place in Utah. KOU has a much greater selection of meats than any other KBBQ I've been to in Utah.

Kristy De Ramos

Finally a really good Korean BBQ close by that isn't extremely expensive. The only thing I have to complain about is the customer service. It takes a long time to get the food and we don't see our server very often. Otherwise the food is AMAZING!!

Aerianna Beard

This place is amazing. The food and service was impeccable. I want to tell everyone about it but yet, I want to keep it all to myself!

Hao Zhu

Amazing! Tasty marinated fresh meats and lots of more. You must come to enjoy. I will be back soon.

Chris Giles

Amazing food and experience. I visited the first week it was open and the service was great. The price, selection, and taste make it the best AYCE Korean BBQ in Utah. Even the grill and ventilation was top notch. Definitely a new favorite!

David Green

This was my first time at a Korean BBQ and I loved it. First the food was fantastic, great taste and lovely presentation. Second I was very impressed with the service the waiters were very attentive, and we even got some help with the grilling of the food. Finally I loved the atmosphere, it was clean, modern, and vibrant. I highly recommend it.

islandgurl517

Really good place, tasty food. Waitress and staff were friendly. The cooking pan didn't burn too bad while using it.

Nana Smama

All you can eat so only go when you are hungry. They dont serve vegetables mainly all meat and a couple soup choices. Good flavors, great staff, and fun experience.

Isaiah Duarte

2 hour limit but it's good enough

Lori Jensen

Probably my favorite restaurant. Great good, great service, and over all just a really fun experience.

Pete

Giving a 5* for price for what you get. For the price the Spicy Bulgogi and Spicy Sam Gyub Sal are the best I've had in Utah. The Lunch special is an amazing price at $14.99 and kids 40-55" is $7.99 and kids shorter than that are free. That's for all you can eat. The Mandoo was great and the Jap Chae is just mediocre, I wish they put some Bulgogi in it. But the 고기, the meat, was all great. Any of the Sam Gyub Sal is good, the spicy being the best, the Bulgogi was all great. The thin beef brisket was just like being back in Gwangju. Definitely a must- eat and visit place in the Salt Lake valley

Kenneth Baldwin

1st time at a place where you cook your own meat. I absolutely loved it. My server Dayln took care of me. Showed me how it all works. Just an all around great experience. I highly recommend it

James Godfrey

Very friendly staff. Not overly bearing while you're trying to eat like some places. Excellent prices, for an all you can eat.

Melanie Templeton

Food and service is really great! I will definitely be coming back

Cherlyl Bentley

I visited this restaurant for the first time today. I had no idea about the food or how to order. Dayln was very helpful. He decided what food we might like, brought it to us and showed us how to prepare it. The food was delicious. Thank you Dayln for making this a wonderful experience!!

Uyen Vuu

Good deal, service is fast, many different kind of meats but not for veggies, only salad.

lillian rose

KOU is a different kind of restaurant. When I first arrived I was surprised to see a grill in the middle of the table. The waiter explained that we cook the food at the table, and they bring us the raw meats. This was ok, but I went out because I didn’t want to cook. Overall it was ok, I will say that some menu items are acquired tastes.

jeoffrey castante

Is should be a five star. The only thing i dont like. The waiter ask me if i would like my change back. Duh. ? Please let ur waiter know that kind of question is anappropriate.

Ruben Dominguez

Great food, great service, clean and great environment. Great place over all. 10/10 recommend

Rosie Jones

Great for groups or date night! You get unlimited meat for two hours and you grill it yourself. You can try as many things as you want. My favorite was the pork bulgogi. We also liked the jowls and the beef bulgogi. Next time we’ll try the brisket. Waiters are friendly and attentive with a constant stream of drinks. We’ll definitely go again!

tj

All you can eat price......good selection and food. Fun place to go

Laura Ruiz

It was great, the way the meat portions were given to us allowed us to taste different meats. The soups were good too!

David Christiansen

The food was fairly good. I have had better Korean food. However, we had a party of 6 at one table. Meat was brought out, but as we had to cook the food, and it takes a while to cook, it took about 2 hours for us to eat. The salad was a bit spicy and did not taste very good. I had a few bites and could not eat any more. The advantages here compared to other places I you know the meat is fresh off the grill and you can try multiple kinds of food. On a side note, others at the table seemed to like this much more than I did.

Trisha Hughes

Great place to eat. Some marinades are a little too salty, but overall amazing. Fun experience.

Gustavo Lagunes

Love the food, you can cook your own food how ever you want.

Richard M

Great food. Good price in comparison of other kbbqs. Waitress was attentive and they willingly swaped out grills as ours got dirty

Susie Johnson

First time eating there. Waiter didn’t explain and brought out a lot of meat. Would have been nice if he would have brought enough salad, rice and noodles to go with all the meat. We requested more salad but he didn’t bring more salad only meat. 8 people crammed into one booth with a small cooking element didn’t work. Small bowl of rice for 8 people to split? Don’t think we will be back.

Kat Nelson

Really good food and a fun experience

Katherine Liu

Food was delicious, they need more grills for larger parties and they definitely still feel like a new restaurant trying to figure out what works for them but the food was great and delivered pretty quickly. I am excited to go back when all their servers are better trained and the service is more streamlined.

Adam Steed

It's great to see Utah getting some great Korean BBQ options. I would rate this as one of the best though they still are working out a few new restaurant bugs around service. Don't be timid and order a wide variety of meats.

Logan Turner

Great options, delicious food, and good atmosphere. Their beef and pork items are very good. Especially the marinated steak. The only problem is that if you have more than 2 or 3 people at your table, only one grill just isn't enough grill space. There should be two grills for a party of 4 or more.

Tyson Hepworth

Delicious food, great waiter. All you can eat, buffet style. Order whatever you want, endlessly. So good

Matt Carey

Very glad one of these is finally doing well here in Utah. Fun, and tastes great. My only complaint is that the plain meats are straight up plain. This is fine, but there aren't really any seasonings or whatever to add to them, so they can be quite bland. The seasoned cuts are dynamite though.

Jonathan Rodriguez

The food at Kou is awesome! We have been here a few times now and thoroughly enjoy ourselves. Not only is the food excellent, the service is very fast. One of the reasons I enjoy eating here is because of the pageantry involved and cooking the food yourself. We ordered a ton of items from the menu and liked every single one. During our last visit, Lupe and Selena were very attentive and helpful. We asked them for their favorites and they should extensive knowledge of the menu. We had pork, beef and chicken in many different styles and flavors, all unique and different.

Adriana Ramirez

Food was great, but what really made it for us was the service from Genesis! He was beyond awesome to us and kept a chill vibe the entire night. Absolute unit that guy.

Jeana Escobar

AMAZING!!!!!!!! I had never tried Korean food before, and I am so glad I tried this. It is worth the wait when the line is long. The meat is absolutely delicious and the restaurant has a nice aestetic. My only critiques are that there is not really a waiting area so the front counter area gets really crowded and then the line of people spills outside. Also, most of the menu options you cook yourself, and none of the wait staff knew how long we should cook it for. We were afraid of undercooking the meat. But it all worked out great and was so delicious. I highly recommend this and will definitely go again.

Thomas Miller

Fantastic Korean barbecue for a great price! My only gripe with this place is that there’s not a lot of vegetable options on their menu.

Yunjun Jung

Love this place. A quality of meat was awesome. Staffs are so kind.

Chris Schultz

I've tried some of the Asian places where they bring out a hot pot for you to cook everything in, but never a place like this where you fry your own instead! It was a unique but great experience. Come extra hungry!

Katherine Montoya

Great selection of meats and at a really good price too! Definitely recommend if you're in the area. I recommend the garlic samgyeopsal and chicken bulgogi.

Shane Burrows

Fun place, great food at a reasonable price.

Jeremy Jensen

Ignore the review from Lorin, she gave Pizza Factory 5 stars, her opinion is invalid. The food here was good, the bathrooms were clean (no bugs in the bathroom like Lorin claims), this is the first legit and yummy all you can eat Korean BBQ in Utah. If this were an LA Korean BBQ place, I'd give it 4 out of 5. But we're talking Utah.... There isn't any other place at this time to get this kind of BBQ, and the food was good.

Jeffery Williams

Kou-Korean BBQ is a modern take on the traditional Korean barbecue. The food isn't cooked for you, rather you cook it yourself, I found that to be really fun for the whole family and also it's nice because you cook the meat to your liking. They have a wide selection of meats, about 30 different options actually. The atmosphere is laid back and there's K-pop playing in the background always. Also you don't pay for each serving of meat, instead its like buffet pricing, all you can eat. The thing I didn't like was the sea food, it didn't quite hit the spot for me. I highly recommend this restaurant for a night out or anytime really, its that good.

Justin Ho

Great cuts of meat with excellent marbling, decent selection of marinated and non marinated variety. Very happy with this addition to Utah. I don't have to drive all the way to Vegas for all you can eat Korean bbq as often now.

Kris Parks

I had my first experience with Korean BBQ here and it was awesome. My boyfriend and I came here for dinner on a Sunday night, and they were pretty busy. We got seated quickly, and within a few minutes of us getting seated, we were cooking. The servers are pretty attentive, checking in often and seeing if there was anything from the menu we wanted to add. They change the grills pretty regularly, when they noticed a lot of char build up. The beef and pork bulgogi were absolutely delicious. Our other favourites on the menu were the beef tongue and the yangyum galbi. Definitely will come back.

Brinton Aylor

Amazing. Food with fun! Easy ice breaker for any group at dinner. Service was kind, welcoming and on point. 5 out of 5. I will definitely be back

Shane Pedroni

Never been to a Korean BBQ before this. My friend is station in South Korea for the Air Force and he gave me some things toook for to make sure it was legit. It passed with flying colors in my book! Food was fr3sh because its uncooked and it comes to your tabke and you cook it yourself to your liking on a grill right in the table. The temp control is convenient as well. They have fans to suck out the steam. You basically on the weekend pay like 21.99 a person and its all you can eat. Order like 3-5 things at a time and enjoy! I thought the Hawaiian steak and the cheese pork appetizer were the best! The pork variations were great as well. I would eat here again and highly reccomend it. (Fun fact: It is where the old "Hooters" restaurant used to be and they still have some Hooters vinyls on the back door. See pics)

Porter M

This is an excellent place to find Korean BBQ. A little tip is to finish it up with the soondubu!

Trek

Kou is a really cool place. It's all you can eat, with a big selection of proteins and apps. They bring you your meat, and you cook it on a grill built into your table, Like it rare, go for it, like it well done, sure, because you cook it in front of you. Food was great, service was good, and it was definitely a unique experience. Only negative is wait times are super long. Apparently you can sign in ahead of time on Yelp, but when we went, that wasn't advertised anywhere so we ended up waiting for almost 2 hours for a table.

B Tantalizing

Went for a friend's birthday. Food was fresh and delicious.

TenishaNicole Hicks

Very fun idea, but food is super bland for the price. Make sure you're hungry because if you can't choke it down, they'll charge extra. Breaks my heart because it is a very fun concept, but not tastey at all. 50 bucks for Utah based blandness. Won't be back for sure.

Trent Jorgensen

David was awesome! He was quick with our orders and very clean.

matthew messerly

Excellent food, fantastic service. This is the perfect place for a business lunch where you can take your time, enjoy a meal, and carry on a good conversation. If you haven't been yet....GO!

Jim L.

My girlfriend and I went to KOU thinking a simple meal and it wasn't. It was the most fun I've had while eating. It's all you can eat. You choose the items you want and then cook them at your table. They are smaller portions but still all you can eat. Beef Bogogi was the best thing, we both loved it!!! We also got spicy octopus and was fun to cook, yes I played with my food. As i said it was a very fun place.

Dalton Brown

Great price for all you can eat. Super tastey and such a fun experience.

sunny Lee

Oh yeah! Finally I tasted!!! Wonderful flavor of the different meat! You want to learn how to cook it before you go though. If you cook too high, the grill pan burns quick, and if you cook row, then meat does not taste good. Oh one tip, when you put order for meat, order several kinds at once. The restaurant is too busy so if you don't waiting for your server to come by you, make sure you order several kinds at once. One more tip, eat meat without seasoning first to taste the meat. After that you can order seasoned meat. You will love this place! Your clothing will be smell after grilling on your table, so wear something you can clean easy. Love this palace. One thing to talk to owner though, my waiter was wearing strong perfume and it bothered me and my friends while we are eating. It would be nice that employees not wearing or wearing very mild perfume will be better for customers.

Chris Ponton

So, we went on 2 May 19 and loved it. There were a couple things that each of us didn't like, but that isn't KOU's problem. All you can eat! Absolutely true! You've got to order what you want: drinks, food, rice, kimchi... all you have to do is ask. *I can't wait for this place to get a liquor license ***(if Utah will give them one), then some Korean beer or Soju would be the icing on the cake.

Francisco Ortiz

Too expensive for raw food. I can stay home and cook a better meal for less.

Christopher Heilman

Probably the best Korean bbq I have had in Salt Lake, and I have had it in many different cities. A good atmosphere, attentive staff and the food is well above the quality you would expect at the price point

Zach Peterson

Food was amazing, if you’re craving all you can eat meat. Look no further

Haven Campbell

Food was delicious! My wife loved the beef tongue. Our server was great and brought our food quickly. Service was good and the vibe was cool!

Carol Lindsay

Excellent service, I was glad we arrived at 6 because when we left at 7 there was a line out the door. Food was good, it was a fun dinner. Clean. Quite the upgrade, you're not at Hooters anymore.

Jeremy Fagergren

Fun atmosphere and good food. Service was just ok.

Rui Xiong

yummy~ my boyfriend has a weak stomach but he had no problem after eating at this place. We are definitely coming back!

Jared and Kayden Petersen-Craig

Go here often! However the last two times have been a bit lacking. This time, I get up to use the restroom and my table was cleaned off. I was barely on my second meat and all of it was still there. I left my belonging on the table to indicate I was still eating as I was dining alone. I let my server know I was just using the bathroom. I hadn’t even gotten my bill yet. Not his fault however bussers should communicate before bussing. I have come here about 2x a week since they opened but unfortunately will probably not go back. Ps-got charged full price for food when I barely ate half of what I ordered before it was cleaned up.

Joe Loftin

An excellent restaurant. Really fun experience

Jaiegh Huutch

An outstanding vittle delight! A group of us have been eagerly awaiting the establishment's first day, and we were lucky enough to participate in the soft opening. Amazing meat quality and choices. Prompt service. Pleasant furnishings. Their cook plates are also coated in a great non-stick material that helps to avoid major char build up. You won't be disappointed. Unless of course you don't like Korean BBQ. And if that's you, tsk. Enjoy!

Emilie Anderson

All you can eat and cook your own meat. Lots of variety and fast service. I suggest not going on a holiday as it is packed full and the wait it usually long. Other than that I have nothing but good things to say and I am definitely going back! So good!

Aleeza Ramsey

I'd give 10 stars if that was possible. This restaurant is AMAZING and has authentic Korean style food! If your looking for a new place to try, this is it! It's on my top 10 list and will be visited monthly♥️

Dustin Dawson

I think it's worth the price. It was around $100 for four of us to get dinner and drinks. It was almost as much fun cooking the food as it was eating it. They change your grill as much as you need and aren't shy about asking what meats you want to try next. As long as you like meat, you won't leave this place still hungry.

Kolby Wheeler

Super good, friendly service. Octopus was amazing. So much better than all the generic stuff out there. Very filling and great price.

Lissy Edwards

It was sooooo tasty! Fun experience, very authentic, and our server Jen was super nice. Try the 3, 4 and the 25 - they were great. Will be back.

Ashley Sterry

The food and service was so good. Easily my new favorite restaurant.

Jeffrey Balch

Fun experience. Lots of items to choose from and the best part is you can try them all.

John Vo

The meat was absolutely delicious, and the service was amazing. The entire restaurant is brand new. The grills are so high grade that they barely need to change them since the nonstick coating is so good. Definitely my new favorite spot for KBBQ in SLC.

Benjamin Drinkwater

Good food, great service, good environment. First time at this style of restaurant, the staff was very helpful.

philip harvey

The food quality was great. I wish they had more vegetable options than just straight meat. Some open leaf lettuce for wraps would be awesome as well as sides of white rice. Service could have been faster.

Heidi Johnson

This is a fun new restaurant with table grilling of Korean prepared meats. Dinner was all you could eat for about $20. Delicious and fun!

Heidi Mabunga

This place was awesome. Quality food. Good service. There was a long wait because they are brand new but it was worth the wait!! Cannot wait to go there again!

Julia

Fun and delicious food! The Korean Fried Chicken was amazing. Can’t wait to come back again!

Austin Hair

Good quality food, and they bring out your orders quickly. Make sure to get the stuffed pork cutlet, it’s so good! It’s generally better to go with groups of 4 or less since they only have one, relatively small, grill per table.

Arturo Huerta

Great food and excellent service.

Emily Dumas

The food was fantastic and the service was impeccable! I was skeptical, but very surprised. Must try KOU!

Yadan Zheng

Pro tip: wait for a table for server Dayln, he’s wholesome and fun to talk to, not to mention super efficient. We visited SLC for 2.5 days and we came here TWICE lol first time was so good we just had to return. Our last meal before heading to airport , best decision ever. We came during lunch but paid the price for dinner because dinner meats are just superior. Must try : KOU style spicy beef, beef bulgogi, marinated short rib. Their appetizers are all good, can’t go wrong with anything. I’ve had my share of AYCE KBBQ from SoCal, this place is very good. Highly recommended.

Jamie S

Super cool place, I think we did it wrong because my husband and I are both very sick... be careful not to eat the cooked food with the tongs that touch the raw food:) our bad we didn't think of that till after

Natalya Johnson

Holy cow this place is so tasty. Really good Korean BBQ and, yeah the price is a little steep, but you're paying for quality.

MaRanda Arellano

Love how all the employees work together to make sure everything is getting done and the diners are pleased plus the food is delicious, tried so much and everything was so yummy.

wendie Lowe

The meat was good. But I found the prices to be on the expensive side. And not to mention my card got charged twice. So not really happy with that part.

Soyoung Lee

may c

The service was very very slow and the servings was small portion and have to wait for a long time for each order. Expensive for what you get and they'll charge extra. I wouldn't go back again.

Christine Trujillo

This place is AMAZING! Great food. Great service. Unique atmosphere.

David Bowen

I didn't know what expect going in. You order the meat off the menu and cook it on your own at your table. It was good but not ideal for a lunch hour. I will try it again and maybe add another star. It is worth giving it a try

Jacob Selman

Really nice expirience. We couldn't make up our minds so we said to the waiter "just bring us food." within 2 minutes we had y plates of meat on our table and we were ready to go. Good stuff!

Anthon Gillespie

Food is delicious here! The menu has a very large list of available meats and the price is very reasonable. Quite a few delicious appetizers are available as well as a few soups that are all included in the all-you-can-eat price. The staff was amazing. Very attentive and quick to get you your ordered items. I loved the food and will definitely be coming back again soon.

Sean Williford

Food was great, service was very attentive and friendly.

Eric Anderson

Love this place. Smoked pork belly, brisket, and the kou pork are some of my personal favorites.

Fred Duarte

Great food, good atmos. Really enjoyed our experience.

Miguel Perez

This place is delicious, and affordable

Chang Han

Compared with Los Angels' kbbq, less authentic... but the service is prompt and the taste is good. I enjoyed the food. Also I'll recommend this restaurant my friends to visit Salt lake city and back to enjoy someday.

Stephanie Parker

First time last night. I was impressed that the soups and appetizers were included in the AYCE price. The marinated meats were amazing, but we didn't love the plain items very much. I noticed their menu states that vegetarians get charged the same price as everyone else at the table and there are really no options for vegetarians (or people that don't eat a ton of meat) on the menu. My only suggestion would be to bring out rice to each table, and also add some veggies to the grill selection.

Melissa Alvarado

We came here Saturday for lunch and we didn’t have to wait at all! It was so good and our server was prompt and super friendly. The food was also really good and their menu is big so we got a taste of everything. We will definitely be coming back again.

John McCain

Great first tme experience excellent foid and service

Brenda Hinkle

Fun place good food

塘人tube

Premium Korean BBQ with all you can eat, only catch is not much vegetable choice, but you will be amazed if you love MEATs

robert carlsen

Great food and service, you cook it yourself at your table or booth.

Jeff N

I was here for their grand opening weekend, it was pretty crowded as expected. But we made reservations ahead of time and got seated within minutes of arrival. The server recommended us to go ahead and order the appetizer because we were pretty hungry and the apps do come out quick. We went ahead and order our entre of meats. They also offered us Wagyu steak since it's their grand opening weekend which was pretty good. I really like their adjustable ventilation, I haven't seen one quite like this before. The atmosphere is quite nice. For the price, it's well worth it. I've been to several all-you-can eat Korean BBQ and it's lower than others. I'm sure it's just a grand opening special they're running but I think it's well worth the trip to eat. I definitely like their beef belly and briskets. Make sure you make reservations if you're coming on the weekend.

Zach Meads

Interesting experience. Not ideal for bigger groups. Don't go if your starving. My friends and I ( 8 total) went, and had one small grill at the start ( we also "borrowed" the grill on the table next to us). Pro: It all you can eat. Wide selection of food Far price Con: The grill is small Need to somewhat know how to cook. ( Food cook time chart would be nice)

Amanda Louise Rose

This is a Korean barbecue family style where you cook the meat of your choice from the menu; marinated or non marinated, out of a plate burner in the comfort of your dinner table. They have side options such as salads and white rice. The servers are cordial and helpful for first timers. The food is delicious. It's a different experience and the Korean barbecue flavor is different from anything you ever tried in Salt Lake City, except if have been out of the country. It's authentic and flavorful. Worth trying!

Mel

Amazing experience, wonderful food, worth every penny (honestly I feel like I should have paid more for all the meat I got!) but the best part was my server... the man... the myth... the legend... Shonho! He showed us how to cook helped us choose the food and taught us about the Korean culture. Honestly a wonderful guy!

Jeff Riley

It was alright, for the money I paid I really expected better tasting food. I tried a ton of different entrees and it really was underwhelming. I don't think I'd go back unless the prices were lowered.

Amber Croft

Here you pay for an all you can eat adventure. This is a delicious battle of food from the start. It started with and amazing green salad with side of kimchi and various pickled veggies, then we had some of the best friend chicken tidbits I've ever experienced. My brother loved the dumpling style treats so much, I didn't even get one, but it didn't matter because before we had time to process what was next .... the meats arrived. David was our server and food guide, he made sure everything was explained and kept the temperature of our stove top adjusted accordingly. He did a great job with his reccomendations and thoroughness of the experience. I hear there is a 2 hour limit for your meal, but I chuckle at that thought because, I was done, toast finished within 25 minutes, my brother made it just over 45 minutes.

Jenny Brown

Fun Korean BBQ place for the whole family. It's all you can eat and they bring you whatever you want and you cook it yourself on the grill in the table. There's also soups and noodles and things that don't need to be cooked. My favorite thing was the grilled pineapple. Def try this place.

Laramie Sferas

I was hiking into the salt lake valley to visit the local ladies at double Os. Turns out those days are gone. A korean place now resides there. I went in anyway. They started throw'in uncooked food at me. At first I was upset as it seemed the cooks forgot something. It hit me like a slice of raw pork belly that you cook it yerself. I enterted flavor TOWN!!!☺☺☺

Ramon Rios

Great, food awesome and environment and service amazing. My cup of water never hit too low and dirty plates removed within 2 minutes. Awesome guys. Your beef soup reminds me my grandma's. Thanks

Elaine Maxfield

So yummy! Great price for all you can eat and atmosphere was awesome!

David Wong

Great food and friendly service.

Lisa Hall

Korean barbecue is popping up all over SLC lately, so we decided to give a couple of them a shot. KOU has a good variety of meat options, but vegetables and sides were a bit lacking. Other than the few small pickled sides, the only vegetable option was a side salad. That said, the meats were all very good, the flavors were nice, but the service was slow, so it took quite a while between when we were finished and when the server came back so we could order more to try. The pork belly and beef options are good, but surprisingly the marinated chicken was our favorite of the evening.

Michael Hill

Kou is a fantastic option for all you can eat KBBQ! The quality of the meat was pretty solid, the selection of items is pretty vast, and the service was impressive. Very kind, quick, and friendly! Price was pretty competitive, and the atmosphere is very fitting.

Robby Norris

Pretty cool place. Rad atmosphere, staff is a little stiff. But the food is good

Derek Dalton

Loved this place! It was my first time to a Korean barbeque and it was definitely a memorable experience. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a unique restaurant experience (you cook your own meat on a grill in the middle of the table) Great variety of meats to choose from, the meats and appetizers were delicious, the value was amazing (all you can eat for $19), the meats all cooked quite fast, and the service was excellent

Opie Janzer

You can get on a wait list using an app and see your place in line. When we were seated they had a salad and dipping sauces ready. Our waiter was excellent about checking in on us and the food came out quickly. The food was wonderful! The meal is very meat heavy and i would like to see some veggies on the menu. The only reason why I'm not giving this resturant 5 stars is because the wait staff kept dumping plates and grill tops into bins next to us. It was so loud when they dumped the used plates that it made me jump and I wanted to cover my ears. It was also disturbing for our dinning experience.

The food is delicious and the service is friendly. It's all you can eat for 19.99. Plan to spent a lot of time here, especially if you have a big group, because the grill is small so you can't cook a lot at once. The menu is mostly meat with very few other items and no desserts. They do have alcohol and really good iced tea.

Good quality meat and lots of choices! The price is reasonable and the service is quick. I just wish there would be more vegetables offering.

Not the best night. Good ideas.

High quality meats, fun interactive experience, all you can eat, great date night or night out with friends. Ask your server what they recommend, get a side of rice or glass noodles, and a few appetizers. Their thicker cuts are amazing, especially the pork collar (personal favorite). David did a great job taking care of us, pacing our table, and explaining how to cook each cut of meat we ordered.

The service was good and fast. The meats are all pretty high quality. The marinades on the meat were quite good too.

Fantastic food, experience, and atmosphere. The quality of the meats that we ate were top notch and tasted fantastic. Definitely will be back and will recommend this to those looking for Korean BBQ.

I'd like to preface by saying that being Korean, I try to keep more of an open mind because I know most places will never meet my expectations of authenticity. However, tonight my family came here as we are always seeking out a KBBQ that we can at least just call good. Pros: Interior was nice and clean, gas grill (better than those electric ones), great variety of meats, waiter was very friendly. Cons: Banchan (sides) are nearly nonexistent and what they initially offer I'd hardly call a typical korean side dish, korean chicken was basically just fried batter and most of it didn't even have chicken pieces in it, waited forever to be able to request other meats or items, waiter (while friendly) got about 90% of our requests incorrect or forgot completely, asked for rice and was just given one small bowl to share. Oh and here's the best part: we had 2 meat plates (that had raw meat) on the table. We stacked one on top of the other to make room; the top plate still had a piece of raw meat on it while waiting for the rest on the grill to cook. A worker came by and REMOVED THE BOTTOM PLATE AND PLACED THE TOP ONE ON THE TABLE, thus getting raw meat juice all over the table. I mean, come on. Overall, the meats (the ones we got anyway) were not bad. Sides were not good, japchae was rubbery and as far from possible as traditional (there were only a few slivers of carrot). If anything, I was disappointed that this is what is being portrayed to others as KBBQ and Korean food in general.

I have had business lunches and date nights with friends and family. Great food and the prices are right on the money. Amazing staff and the portions can’t be beat.

Such a fun atmosphere and delicious food! We went last Friday as a group of 6 people and had so much fun! Our waitress was amazing. We weren't sure where to start and asked for the most popular items. Every single thing was so delicious! They were very quick to get our orders out and our waitress kept our drinks filled. We can't wait to go back!

Best one I have visited yet. Clean atmosphere. Flavors of food excellent. Staff friendly and attentive.

All you can eat for dinner. Good food and great environment! It’s busy so get there early on weekends! All of the meats we tried were yummy. Kalbi & bulgogi are always good and you can’t go wrong if you’re a first timer to korean food

I like this place some times hard to get service but over all it's an amazing experience

Finally had a chance to try this place out. Coming from southern California where Korean bbq is all over we were hoping this would be good. Very reasonable all you can eat price. We tried a lot of different meats and everything was very good. I recommend this place.

Chase Noel

They had amazing service! Every time we would order more it was to our table in just a minute or two! Did a great job at keeping the drinks filled throughout our visit, never had to ask for refills. To top it all off, all of the meat we ordered was super yummy! Will definitely be going back often!

This restuarant was phenomenal. Very clean, meat was fresh and amazing, waiter Kenneth was awesome. Everything that came out tasted so good. The flavors were fantastic and spot on. Very authentic and love the dining set up. Pricing is amazing for all you can order! UPDATE Went back and quality of meat went down. My meat one one of the orders was very stringy which I ordered it twice before on different occasions. The waiter noticed I didnt eat it and told me it was his favorite thing and the way I cooked it was what was wrong. I didn't try to argue I just set it aside and the waiter spent a long time talking about how I cooked it wrong... my cooking didnt make the meat stringy. It was like that before I put it on... we wont be going back even though the first visits were worth the 45min drive. What I got last time was not.

Solid across the board. Kimchi was delicious. Garlic calamari was a surprise favorite. Steak
