Here we offer you the information of real people who used the products of Jang Soo Jang Korean Restaurant (Restaurant) around Utah area.
At this moment this firm gets a score of 4.0 over 5 and this score is based on 275 reviews.
As you can read, its rating is positive, and it's based on a very high number of feddbacks, so we may say that the valuation is very faithful. If there are many people who bothered to give their feddback when they've done well, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to place opinions when they are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Restaurant belongs to the category of Korean restaurant.
The food is so yummy! The service is excellent too! I will come here again and again and again.
Pretty good food, authentic enough. Their specialty Jjambong (spicy Korean soup, available only on Wed, Thur, $8.99) is really good even for Koreans straight from Korea. Other food are alright, somewhat pricey but not too too bad for a Korean restaurant in US. Oh their Bulnak Jungol is pretty good, too. :) Definitely better than the ratings above.
This is easily the best Korean restaurant in Utah. It rivals some of the best places in Korea!
An out of the way Korean joint with a smallish menu, but really good quality foods. I liked their old location and more expansive menu more, but what they retained is still fine.
Soondekook very good , and delicious
Side dishes are all tasty. Main dishes as well.
I think this place was OK, but definitely nothing special. They have a decent selection of "standard" Korean dishes, and my group tried several of them and found the quality to be average at best (and a good bit lower in a few cases). Prices also seem a little high for what you get (e.g. $10 for an appetizer of 10 small boiled dumplings that probably cost about $1 at wholesale). Service was fine, nothing particularly good or bad to report. I wish I could offer a suggestion for a better Korean restaurant in Utah, but of the several I've tried, most of them feel pretty similar to this.
I had the spicy bulgogi and there was plenty of meat. It comes in the cooking surface they prepared it on and 6 small sides of refreshing salads. The very nice waiter asked if I would like refills on any of them and I did. Fair prices.
I come here quite often. They have the absolute best koreanan cuisine!!
(Translated by Google) Salt Lake is one of the few Korean restaurants in Utah and if you share your experience directly ... I would like to say that many predictions will be forbidden. It slowly raises the suspicion that local residents can be inspired by the well-known Korean food. The reason for the two stars is that the representative of the restaurant decided to operate a Korean restaurant after moving to a small number of Korean cities Compared to large cities such as Los Angeles and Seattle, which have a competitive edge like Korean restaurants in small cities, the quality and quality of their food will be significantly different from those of other major cities, and the longevity of Korean restaurants will also be expected to exist in small towns same The owner is pretty busy ... Only one server is busy but you can not respond to all the guests. If you recommend one ... Would not it be possible to satisfy even a little bit if the internal interior was opened with a little more Korean classical goods? Super legit bimibap
We enjoy eating here. I like the menu and have been happy with everything that we have tried. I really like their Korean coffee. The service is hit or miss, not sure if it is the language barrier or not. Really great oh dang too.
Great food great price closest thing you'll ever get to tasting South Korea. Very nice owners and works I would highly recommend this place to anyone to try some Korean food! I come here for every special occasion and I mean every thanks giving, Xmas, birthdayz etc! Jang soo Jang will have you full and ready for a nap! My favorite place on this earth to eat! Go try it today! You won't regret it!
Over priced and service was terrible. They overcharged us. This is a shame because the food was pretty good. However, there is no chance we will ever go back again.
Great food, fast and the price just right❤
Amaazing food i love the sweet potatoes!!
Excellent food. Will bring a grill to your table for more authentic BBQ.
Good authentic Korean food. Good selection of side dishes.
This is really good food. Lots of Koreans from Salt Lake eat here, as you'll notice when you go here. If you want to try authentic Korean BBQ, go here. I loved the food. It is so tasty. This is not your average "Chinese food" kitchen. Prices are higher than some, but you get great quality. I don't know why people have written portions are small. Actually, I've eaten here a couple times, and felt like they had very large portions.
Delicious Korean food. Seems very traditional.
Great food, a little bit more than I would like to pay, but I left satisfied other than the fact that the "spicy" option on rhe menu wasn't as spicy as expected. Staff was friendly and Korean.
Definitely not a fancy joint, but the food is very authentic. Right on par with what you'd get fed in a Korean home. Every time we're in Salt Lake we stop to eat here. My wife always gets the Bulgogi (if you haven't tried Korean before, this is the dish to get in my opinion). Always pleased, and the service has always been very good for us. It is a bit pricey but worth it.
If you ask any Korean what Korean restaurant they go to, the only place we usually eat at is Jang Soo Jang. My oma won't eat anywhere else and probably has the most authentic dishes and not the Americanized dishes you see at other Korean restaurants in Utah, it's a family favorite. I agree prices are high but every Korean restaurant in Utah is and you usallly won't find any cheaper
We ordered Mul Mando (boiled potstickers) as appetizer with two main dishes because we were so hungry. We checked the picture on the menu and price ($8.99) and thought it would be a legit one. Then... I realized I was deceived. Attaching the menu picture and the actual picture. See it for yourself. It was way too different from the picture and way too small in size and in quality. There were 10 fingertip sized pot stickers for 9 bucks. Very disappointed.
Food and Service were good and we didn't have to wait long for the food
Great food. Best kbbq in town in my opinion.
Been there twice. Very good options. Their fried pork ribs are one of my favorites. And I usually don't like pork. Would suggest to take an Asian friend with you or someone who has been to Korean restaurants before.
Excellent food! This is one of the best Korean restaurants we have tried even compare to Korean town in the Bay Area, California. My family's favorite place.
Authentic korean restaurant with reasonable prices. I will definitely return.
I love the bbq and side dishes, tatse like actual Korean food and I love that! The wait time even on the slowest day is at least 25 mins. The server usually doesn't come back to check up on you after getting your drinks and food, sometimes the older gal will even come and hint she wants you to leave. Go for the food, not for the service. It is a bit pricey for some, but I love Korean BBQ and I'll easily throw done $20+ for an order for myself.
(Translated by Google) Korean taste. It was delicious. (Original) 한국적인 맛. 맛있었어요.
The server told us we could get “unlimited refills” of our side dishes, but only if we ordered enough dishes that came with side dishes (apparently, two of the menu items don’t come with sides, and we ordered one of them). So he convinced us to order an extra dish. For the first refill, one of the dishes were missing. No problem. For the 2nd refill, two of the dishes were missing. When we asked for a 3rd refill from a different server, we were told that we were actually only allowed one refill, but they’ve already given us two. When we confronted the previous server about his mistake (or lie), he simply said “you can get unlimited refills up to 2-3”. The food was good, and the more senior server was kind enough to continue offering refills after she learned what the other server had represented, but it was not the best experience.
Love this place. Add this to your list of food to try!!!
Best Korean food in the state of Utah. I lived in Korea for 2 years. This place has the most authentic flavor have any place I can find in Utah.
This doesn't look like much but the food is fantastic and the service is great. We took our Korean exchange student and he was ecstatic to be there.
I LOVE this Korean restaurant. I'd drive more than an hour to eat its delicious food. I always get the spicy soft-tofu soup. The soft boiled egg adds a creaminess and I always leave more full than I should. I've brought my sister here several times and have never been let down, no matter what we order.
I ordered the bulgogi; it taste great, but they only gave me 4 oz.
From a couple guys who have spent many years living all over South Korea, this is authentic, delicious Korean food. The food was excellent. The service was not like a Korean restaurant but much better than you get at most American restaurants. The staff were very friendly as well as patient and kind to our young children.
If you’re not Korean don’t bother going. Could not understand our waiter & when we kept asking her to repeat herself she sighed & was annoyed with us. They did not give us water til the end & never bothered to check on us til they gave us the check. Very unsatisfied with the service & the food was ok.
Very authentic and great food
The food is great, but this is not the place to go for a quick Korean lunch. It's best to visit with other people when you can take the time to savor the experience. You won’t be able to dine for much less than $20 after tax and tip. The cheapest dish is the bibimbap in a bowl for $11. Make it $13 if you want a hot stone bowl. The beef bulgogi is $17 plus another $3 if you want to add rice.
I love this place one of my favorites!
This place is closed, but there's another Korean restaurant called Seoul Garden now
Love this place :) try and come here every week. Only have had mandu, bibimbal and yook gae jang but all are super yummy!
Food and service were great! The lunch specials are really good!
Nice place with friendly fast service but lacks ambiance and like almost all Korean bbq in Utah it is not a cook it yourself place - they bring to the table. Best dish is the bulgogi!
Bibimbap was delicious! Everyone I was with loved their food. The bulgogi was the other favorite. This is a real authentic place with some interesting (from American perspective) stuff on the menu. And good god the bibimbap was good.
1.The taste of food is terrible and bad. 2. The owner is very unfriendly. 3. It is absolutely no place to recommend. 4.It is unfriendly to a local guest because it becomes a restaurant to receive group guests.
Highly recommend restaurant to go eat,
Best place to come with friend and family.. and finally they have Korean chicken bulgogi..
Delicious food, friendly service. Try the Cham Pong only served Wed/Thurs!!
Great food, clean, fast service
Best Korean restaurant in town. Have eaten here for several years. It was good before they moved to new place. They finally re-open again at new place after half a year waiting. The current place is bigger, and looks clean. I always have their sungdaegu(not sure I spell right) which has pork blood sausage in the soup. Best dish ever!
I love my experience at this place.
The stone bowl Bibim Pap was excellent and authentic, with a larger than usual number of side dishes, attentively refilled when they were close to empty. I look forward to returning to try out other dishes.
Good food, but price is to high for lunch. Place could use a better lunch special/menu. Would get four stars if they did. Plates are generally large enough for two.
Decent food, a bit overpriced compared to other Korean restaurants in the area and without enough quality to justify
Dolsot bibimbap was excellent. Side dishes were fresh and tasty. The restaurant is clean and big and it can accomodate a large group. Overall: great service and quality But entree lacks quantity
I come here for the kalbi tang and jasmine tea. Love the side dishes especially the kimchi. It seems fresh to me. But the portion/pricing ratio is on point with great service.
Food was delicious. It was a bit pricey but the service was good.
If you speak Korean, it'll be a five star experience. If you speak Korea and have allergies, it'll be a four star experience. If you don't speak Korean and require no accommodations, it'll be a three star experience. If you don't speak Korean and have allergies, check yourself into a hospital instead. (Or memorize the phrases you need ahead of time.)
We visited the restaurant on a Friday afternoon. It is nested in a strip mall. Without a GPS, we would not have found it. Here is a list of good and bad. Good: Decent food; reasonably fast; decent space; and reasonably clean. Bad: Food is not the best in comparison with other Korean restaurants in town; service was slow in responding to our additional request for water; portion is slightly smaller than expectation; and floor can be slightly shaky and noisy.
We went to Jang Soo Jang several times a year at its old location and loved it, but since their move to a new location, the quality and service have come down a bit. The service wasn't quite as attentive the last couple times and they forget to give you a spoon even when you order a soup. It also makes me a little sad that they've dispensed with metal chopsticks which would be more authentic and environmentally friendly than the disposable wooden ones. They've also become less trusting with customers cooking their own meat. If you order Sam gyap sal, they'll still bring it to you on the burner but they've already cooked it. Cooking your own was half the fun. Their Deok Bokki is more of a soup than I've seen at other Korean places around. I kind of like it as Deok with gochu jang paste texture rather than a broth type soup, but that's just a personal preference of mine. The quality of the Folsom bibimbap was also down. It just didn't seem as fresh. Overall still good, with room to improve. Love the new location. More spacious and modern.
The food is authentic (been to Korea a few times) and tastes great. Very friendly mom and pop spot.
I've been to several Korean restaurants and this is too expensive for the quality of food. I usually get bibimbop and I've never had it with a spoonful of ground beef!?
Excellent experience, amazing food, will be back soon
I love Korean food, and their’s is just as good as the next authentic Korean restaurant. They loose stars because the last time we went there with our kids they stuck us by the door, as far from them and everybody else as possible. They never really came back again. It was like pulling teeth to get more water, or any of our pon-chons (side dishes) refreshed. My kids love Korean food, and eat it very well. They shouldn’t assume just because we’re not Korean we don’t know anything about the food, or what we’re getting, food, service, or otherwise.
Great food and friendly service. The prices are bit high though. If the prices were a bit less this place would get 5 stars from me.
They have the best Korean flavor in the valley.
Everytime I go there the food is delicious. It might not look good from out side but the food delicious.
I've never had Korean food before this experience. I am not a picky eater, per se, but I do enjoy a well prepared meal. This food is amazing. Everything I tried was delicious. I'll be coming back for sure!
Portions were tiny and very expensive. Definitely won't go back here
Best authentic Korean food! The only place that has soondaeguk !!
Good bibimbap and side dishes are good. Ways it could improve: Was thirsty most of the visit with an empty water cup.
Spicy foods are really spicy. Prices are okay at least for me (See photos for prices). Not suitable for majority of Indians, since no chicken or proper vegetarian served. Goat meat also not marinated like Indian food. Lunch Specials are good combo deals for heavy eaters like me and they provided unlimited refills of marinated cucumber, cabbage, lettuce, and potatoes. Obviously rice. The softu soap contains lot of seafood and the flavour is little overdose. Warm spicy pork comes with a portable stove to maintain the heat till the end. Goat soup is average.
Solid experience. Food was good and came quickly. I was a big fan of my beef short rib soup, I liked the broth. The only downside was at the very end when the waiter was a little about the tip.
It would have been one star as I am from New York (i.e. too many high quality Korean restaurants with intense competition). For a Korean restaurant being in Utah, serving Korean food like this, I think they deserve 3-4 stars.
Some delicious food right here, definitely check this place out right next to AutoZone!
Great food. Very authentic.
(Translated by Google) I rented from Salt Lake and stopped by on the way to Yellowstone. This is a typical American Korean restaurant. It is not gorgeous, it is not unsanitary, and the boss and staff are a bit grim but not rude. The taste of the food seemed to be a little strong in spice, but it was not as bad as a Korean restaurant. I felt that it was mainly targeted to Korean tourists.
As close as your going to get to authentic Korean, Soondae guk was great!
Good Korean food but a little pricey.
Delicious
Great kimchee!
Real authentic korean food.
Went there today. Called the people there before going, was told to be closed at 8 30 pm. When we arrived at 7 40, the lady there said we CANNOT be seated.
The server wearing a beret is the cutest! Looking forward to come more often :)
The service was AWFUL The food was ok, but the service made the experience HORRIBLE.
This was delicious
This is the best Korean food I’ve had in Salt Lake. Its authentic and delicious. The staff are very warm and welcoming and the atmosphere is down to earth and quiet.
Good food good service
The food is good.
Overall a good experience. Menu was lacking smaller meals. It was priced fairly well for the amount of food. Reminds me of my youth
Straight
Food is good, service is poor, they will tried to add 15-30 % tips on your checks so double check before you pay.
Awesome food
I like the soft tofu soup and the japchae, they are really good.
We've been going to Jang Soo Jang since they were on the old place. So happy we found their new location. Pricey but great food and great service every time.
The food was just mediocre. But right after eating there, I had upset stomach and had to go to the bathroom three times that night. I eat Korean food all the time and there’s no reason for me to have any reaction to it. Will never go back there. The owner lady kept on yelling in the back of the kitchen for who knows why but that was so rude!!! Customers could all hear her! We felt really awkward and annoyed. Salt Lake definitely deserves some better Korean restaurants. This place is very disappointing.
Awesome place for K-food. Get the dolsot bibimbap and galbi jjim to share. You will leave a very full, very happy customer
My best Korean restaurant. I am Korean
ITS REALLY GOOD! This was my fourth time i tried Korean food and this place was my favorite! The food is very delicious especially the BBQ, the service was good they attended us nice, and its not that expensive.
Good pho, service was ok but the price was awesome
Great Korean food and, but prepare to speak Korean or use translate tool when you are here. Ladies who work here is a little bit slow, my advice is be patient.
Tried this place for dinner after eating at Korea House for lunch. As the other reviews mention, the food really is delicious! I am not sure they gave me the correct bill though, as I only ordered 불고기 and 떡볶이 (beef and rice cakes) but it was $34. In any case, the food was certainly great, but I was expecting a little lower bill given the other reviews, even granted that I couldn't finish all the rice cakes and now feel like I am going to explode from eating really triple what I should have. I may go there again, but if you're looking for tasty and cheaper price I think Korea House is a better option, especially since they are only about 2-3 minutes away from each other. My money is still on Cafe Seoul even beyond Jang Soo Jang and Korea House, however.
Food was great but service was horrible. The waiter ignores his customers, the food took a while to be served, they do not do individual tabs for larger groups. They get you with gratuity because I was not about to tip at all. The atmosphere feels like a hole in the wall but with higher prices. I do not recommend this place nor will I be a returning customer.
Though they have moved, this had been my favorite restaurant for over 12 years.
Delicious food and fast service!! Will definitely be coming back here again. Loved it a lot.
I love their food. They serve good Korean food with some small delicious sides. However, you can only add one small side and that’s all. Their main dishes are small too. It’s not what we expect from the photos on the menu. Secondly, their service attitude needs to improve. They did not serve well but force us to pay more tips...at the end, we would like to take a rest there for a little bit. There was only 4 customers on the other table but they forced us to leave by saying we need to clean the table. What a good restaurant!?
We love this place! Food is amazing and I don't seem bother with their pricing. Serving may be fool you but for me, it's perfect for one person. We love their spicy bulgogi beef, tofu with egg and seafood soup, and even with their spicy short ribs with vegetable. We now come here every Fridays. Loving it!
(Translated by Google) It's the first time in Korea that I can't taste this delicious food. The ingredients are old and the seasoning is on top of the pepper and well, the liver is weird. Since the chef wasn't Korean or had Indians, I'm guessing if he's a Korean. Sundae soup contains four kinds of sundae and Samgyetang is boiled for a week or so, and it is a rare taste because it has a bad taste. I don't leave a review, but this house is so poor and it's really a waste of money. It's a nasty restaurant you never want to go back to. Great tasting food, especially the side dishes. Can be a bit of a wait, but I would rather have slow service instead of bad tasting food.
One of the finest meals I have had in quite some time. The pork was absolutely to die for. I could eat it every day. Please let me eat it every day. The atmosphere is clean and inviting. Service was prompt. Absolutely no complaints.
Favorite Korean place. Their yook gae jang is amazing.
One of the most authentic korean places you can go. We have known the owners for year. Friends to my mother. They are so great with customers and the food is as fresh as you can get. Highly recommend if you want more of real korean food.
Food is OK. The service is not good.
It’s the most authentic Korean restaurant you can find in Salt Lake City. My favorite dishes are Gaibi Tang and Sundubu-jjigae. Those are must try. The service is pretty good also.
I absolutely love it. I have been to many Korean BBQ restaurants and this is by far my favorite one.
I have been customer here more than 10 years and I like this restaurant.
A bit expensive but good food. The pork barbeque is my favorite and all the sides are awesome.
To overpriced for the amount of food you get.mostly broth with a handful of meat and very few noodles.felt like what I paid for was a bowl of broth.
Finally I found a place with Korean food that taste as in Korea but for that price I would like bigger portions.
Great
The bipmbop and condiments were really good. They don't have dobo kimchi, but we'll be back.
Absolutely delicious food. Definitely authentic, just like when I was in Korea. Very efficient and friendly service too.
Great Korea restaurant in SLC.
Amazing. I ate too much.
Great food, could improve their service though.
Price is very high but quality is very normal
My favorite place excellent service thanks
Great Korean food, but little bit too expensive
If you want an authentic Korean food that tastes great, I highly recommend that you go to Jang Soo Jang in South Salt Lake. The food is always freshly made and promptly served. The servers are also polite at all times. They bring out a variety of complementary side dishes with your main course, that will appeal to any tastebuds. One of my favorite dishes is the Spicy stir-fried octopus (Ojingeo-bokkeum). My husband’s favorite is Bul-Go-Gi). A must try! Great service and great food!
Typical Korean place - good food, slow service
I ordered seafood sundubu "hot" (there were three options), and was served a very mild broth, which lacked flavor altogether. I explained that not only was it not hot, but lacked seasoning and flavor overall, they first brought out crushed red peppers, which I explained to them would not solve the problem. They then took the soup back, brought out what was supposed to be a new one, but turned out to be nothing more than the same flavorless broth, with some more red pepper added. Having had this particular dish at other Korean restaurants before, I cannot imagine why they would call their version as sundubu at all. I cannot recommend this place. The other dish I ordered was OK.
(Translated by Google) Where you can eat some bad Korean food in Salt Lake. Compared to Kyoto, which was a Japanese restaurant I went to before. Rice made from solid rice is basic, and roast meat is good. It is a way to cook everything in American style. However, the sundae stew is unidentified near the flavor of Chinese champon soup. Master's grandfather's hand is okay. As for the problem with serving in the review, the server is not visible. One man, the wife serves food, who looks like an immigrant working in the kitchen, making a cook. The food is okay, but the service is horrible!!! I was completely ignored for ten minutes waiting at the entrance when the staff were aware I was there. No one cared to say anything. One waitress actually passed by me twice and did not ask whether I was going to sit down or order take out. When I was finally helped, the waitress was so rude and arrogant. I feel unwelcomed there and will not go back.
This place is superior. The food reminds me of my late mother that has just passed recently. Very authentic and the food is quite delicious. I feel like the prices are fare for the authenticity of the Korean meal you receive. Service is very hospitable.
OVERPRICED. I ordered a tofu soup, two main courses (BBQ ribs and pork) and an appetizer which ended up being $78. I was way too generous at giving tips considering the amount of services I actually received. The food was alright but I am pretty sure it does not live up to that price. Also, the chef is pretty stingy on the amount of food they serve. A kimchi pancake for $13? Come on?! If you are about to make similar mistake by going there, please DON'T come to this place and find somewhere else with more reasonable pricing, better food and services. All in all, don't make the same mistake I made. It was a terrible terrible costly mistake!
Absolutely delicious
Yummy authentic Korean food best in town
Authentic Korean taste
The food was delicious! They didn't hesitate to accommodate my vegetarian diet. The service was lovely. Our server was friendly and attentive, as were the other members of the staff. Did I mention how delicious the Japchae was? I was very happy with my meal and my overall visit, as was the rest of my group. 10/10 recommend, can't wait to go again!
The location of the restaurant is a bit odd but the food was decent enough. As with most of the Korean restaurants, they don't have a host greeting you at the door. A server simply pointed us to a table. Their service is very similar to other Korean restaurants. I had Yukgagjang and it was about average with about the right portion. Very nice to see a Korean restaurant that serves good tasting dishes with genuine Korean hospitality.
Love this place... Delicious authentic Korean food, great service, good prices!
Can they have Korean special cook? It seems like owner cook the Korean food which makes the Korean food taste is not right.
(Translated by Google) The side dish was good! Meals are also Korean! (Original) 반찬이 참 괜찮았어요! 식사도 한식 무난!
Specializes in authentic soups and hot pots. These are to die for! The bulgogi and kalbi are great too. Every time I've gone, they've had great service and the staff have been very friendly.
Korean families eating here, yes! Bibimbap and chapa was good, pancha dishes are tasty with refill. I wasn't crazy about the caviar soup, it had some un identified floating ingredient that bursted in my mouth, was it a floater? ... but it was prob authentic and my ignorance.
Fast, clean and good food.
I was really impressed by the food at the restaurant. I would not suggest it for someone who is new to asian cuisine because the friends I brought with me had a hard time finding something they were willing to try. I, however, LOVED the food. The Sundae Guk was delicious and I haven't been able to find another restaurant near here that has it! The foods are more what I would eat if I wanted feel good home food rather than Americanized Korean. The restaurant is clean and neat. The servers were nice and checked several times to see if we were ready to order. We did have to pull napkins and chopsticks from the table next to us though. Also I would have preferred fountain drinks to cans. The cans filled up a tiny little bit of the very large glasses, though it was nice to get Korean soda.
whenever I eat here l feel like Iam in Korea . I like their Rabboki. awesome! !
Finally found excellent korean cuisine
Located in a discrete strip mall, we didn't have high expectations. We are here for skiing so try different restaurants all the time. Many Asian restaurant disappoint here, but not this one. The taste was spot on, authentic, really good. They could use a bit of decoration on the walls, it seemed a bit bare, cafeteria style. But that didn't affect the food. We will be back for sure.
1st time eating at Korean restaurant, yummy!
Wonderful food. It was a busy night and service did the best they could. Patience is key at this authentic Korean food gem. This is not fast food. Air back and enjoy an evening with friends.
My favorite Korean restaurant in Utah. I would recommend the Yukgaejang.
An amazing restaurant. Very welcoming and friendly staff and the food is very fresh and the flavor is amazing.
Always a great place to get really good Korean food.
