Amazing food. Even better service! Waitress Betsy was the best! Attentive, explained the menu like she's been working there all her life. I recommend this place to everyone. Generous portions + high quality food!!!

Giordano Ashwell

I enjoyed a great meal recently at Bambara. We were in town for a business meal and our hostess was very accommodating in putting us in a booth where we could talk quietly. Everyone ended up ordering the steaks which were cooked to perfection. I also ordered the beet salad which was really tasty. They have a good selection of wines and beers and our server was very attentive.

Dane Dobson

Went there the food was ok the potatoes were quite bland.

Natasha Asmus

We had a wonderful dinner here, the staff was friendly and professional, they checked on us enough but they didn't hover. They answered questions about the menu and we were so pleased with everything we ordered. The appetizer duck prosciutto was my favorite! This is a great place for special occasions

Jason Craig

Had a great experience here two years ago and was looking forward to returning. Felt like a different restaurant/bar. Staff seemed rushed like there weren't enough servers scheduled. Our server was nice and I could tell they were trying but it seemed like they were rushed during our entire meal. Afterward we went to the bar to get suggestions for after dinner like we had the last time. The guy before was friendly, made eye contact and asked a few questions before making suggestions. He also made the best Manhattan I have ever had in my life. This time was just okay which you can get for a lot cheaper at many other places close by.

Jake Berlin

I really enjoyed the Cubano sandwich I ordered, but unfortunately they messed up the orders of several people I was with. They didn't charge us for the appetizer though which was nice. The restaurant has a classy and refined atmosphere, and is in a great location.

jeremy sullivan

I like to stop in "The Vault" for some high quality scotch, whenever I'm in town. The appetizers are also very good. The ambience is higher end, and with that comes a bit of a steep price on spirits and food . But when you want to get away from the local bar scene and patrons, this a great spot. I

The Chef

food was good but cold, waiters are idiots.

Wook Chung

This place is a jewel in the heart of SLC. Gorgeous appetizers (that pork belly), fresh salad, complex harmony of flavors yet truthful to the ingredients. Will return.

Dane Ashworth

Always great food and great service. For lunch, I loved the fried green beans and salads. Finish things off with a cookie. When you are ready to get serious, get the blue cheese chips, burgers or just the plain cheese plate. So good!!!

T Bushnell

I was in town for some sightseeing and decided to stop in for a quick drink and appetizer. I ordered their starter salad, corn bisque and snowball old fashioned. All were delicious! They definitely know how to put a unique yet delicious twist on the traditional dishes we've all had before. I didn't stay for a full dinner/lunch, but I expect it would live up to expectations.

Kathy Brown

Lovely delicious and fast lunch. Very impressed.

Patric Dean

Knowledge staff. Nice bar in the back. Typical for being located on a kipton property.

Amie Mickle

This place is a must-visit! The service was exceptional, punctual and accommodating, and the atmosphere was polished yet relaxed. And the food was incredible! Treat yourself to a night at Bambara; you'll be thankful.

Ethan Miller

Great bar! Great service! Excellent environment! Awesome food!

Whitney Ingram

We have celebrated our anniversary at Bambara for 5 years in a row. Every meal has been one of the best of the year. The service at Bambara can’t be topped. The hostess and servers are thoughtful, friendly and attentive. The food is always excellent. Sort of a twist on classic American cuisine which keeps things new and exciting. The chef keeps a few regulars on the menu, like the potato chips, but also brings in seasonal surprises. We can’t wait to get back to Bambara. It’s always a perfect experience.

Brady

Excellent from the starter to dessert. Went with the wife for our anniversary, enjoyed every bite. Our server Bowers was attentive and knowledgeable! We’ll be back.

Eric McAfee

The food and service is always top notch

Roman Ayrapetov

Overall a great time. There was a really loud table nearby that kind of ruined the experience, otherwise would be a 5 star

paislea shaffer

My husband & I frequently visit The Hotel Monaco & will eat our dinner at Bambara. The food is delicious & the cocktails are out of this world. 5 stars. Forever.

Gavin Goldberg

This is a wonderful restaurant. We walked in without reservations on a Friday night and were seated immediately in a comfortable booth surrounded by historic elegance. The wait team was efficient. We ordered the blue cheese house cut potato chips as an appetizer. OMG!! Nacho style deliciousness. The serving was large and the three of us barely finished it. Next was seared loin of elk; mushroom ravioli; and seared steelhead. The meat and fish were cooked to perfection, very tender. Everyone loved their dish. There were multiple layers of flavors, sauces, textures and colors. We all tasted all of them and enjoyed each. We didn't get any drinks but did order desserts - huckleberry creme brûlée; brownie bowl, and a parfait. Again, we all tried all the desserts and I think everyone was happy with the one they had gotten. The servings were generous but not so big that there were leftovers. It was a leisurely dinner and including tip ran just under $200.

Jacob Snow

Outstanding! Classy, stylish and unique ambience with very attentive staff and absolutely delicious cuisine. We took a group of 11 to celebrate mom's 80th birthday. Not only did they easily accommodate the group but they even printed menus with a birthday wish for her! We really appreciated the menu and LOVED the food.

Peter Harris

Really good food, great atmosphere. Just a tad bit pricey compared to other options.

Donald Bailey

Great food and solid service make Bambara an easy choice for us. The prices are similar to Ruth's Chris or Flemings but their atmosphere is more casual and quaint. The menu changes more frequently than either of those places but always has delicious options. Last night I had the elk loin and my wife had the filet. Both were prepared as we requested and they had excellent flavor. Our appetizers were also awesome! The only thing that didn't meet expectations was the hazelnut creme brulee. It had the consistency of a pudding rather than a custard and seemed like it was made to set in the fridge rather than cooked in the oven.

Matt Stanley

Been here for lunches and dinners. The burgers are awesome and I have yet to try anything I haven't liked. Nice atmosphere too

Thomas Golding

Weekend brunch was amazing! Inspired menu, delicious drinks, unique atmosphere. Not nearly as expensive as I was expecting for a restaurant that deserves several Michelin stars. Would be a great date location. A must try!

Logan Whitcomb

The Elk was great.

Ryan Miller

Unique and interesting atmosphere, great food and attentive staff. A regular for my family and me.

Bryce Coltrin

Great atmosphere, great service, amazing food presentation. They receive 2-Stars because I got extremely sick from eating there after they did not take my allergy seriously. I explained to the waiter that myself and the other person in my party both have an allergy to gluten (we both have Celiac Disease, so we cannot have ANY cross-contamination; the smallest amount of gluten is enough for serious concern). I ordered from their gluten free menu and got the steak, minus the frites since these are a gluten product. While eating my food, I noticed my watercress had a frite sitting in there!! So either the proper precautions to take my allergy seriously and not be prepared with other gluten orders did not happen, or the chef made my order without paying attention to the allergy, then decided to simply remove the frites when he realized his error. Very sad as this place seemed quite professional and the food was amazing. I did not send my food back because I had already eating quite a bit before I realized the error. By that point the damage had been done ☹️.

Marco Montes De Oca

Great service and food.

Steven Gunn

This place is way over rated. ..food is fair and terrible service

Eric Carlsen

Get the Elk... It was amazing

Bambara has excellent food and great atmosphere and service. Everything about how they treated us made it clear they wanted us to have the best experience possible. If you want a special dining experience give it a try. I highly reccomend the bleu cheese nachos (potato chips) and the blue cheese mac and cheese.

M Meng

High end gourmet executive chef experience without all the formality. Local seasonally changing menu. I've been here 8 times and always something new and amazing, with a few staple favorites. Corn chowder to die for. Gnocchi is amazing. Great fish and stake dishes as well. Fine dining at its best.

Gavin Agnew

So yeah I've never really had great hotel food but I felt like I wasn't even there. The staff knows everything as far as I'm concerned and every question was answered perfectly and understanding. I've never had elk so good before and that corn bisque was outstanding. I have no problem with the prices because I feel like my money went to a fantastic establishment. Y'all get my Texan approval :P

Alasteir Denton

Enjoyed a truly delectable grilled flatiron steak Cobb salad at Bambara for lunch. Every component of this meal was perfectly prepared. When ordering I was a little suspicious of the $25 price tag, but having now enjoyed this salad I would say that it is completely worth it.

Benjamin Smith

Our server Jason was awesome. He took the time to answer our questions and made sure we knew what we ordered. Everything was full of flavor and delicious. The portions are perfect not too much that you feel overstuffed but enough to be satisfied. We will be back on the future.

Shaun Arenas

Great food, knowledgable waiting staff, prompt service. The venue is though is an overall 4.5. Gotta due away with that chandelier. It’s painful. The ambiance and building does have a great vintage classic feel. By and by a great Resturaunt.

Michael Cheeseman

The apps were great! Deviled eggs, Blue cheese nachos, and pork belly. Great service too.

Gina Young

Excellent food, I had the Steelhead with garlic mashed potatoes.

Bron McCall

Love this place. We hadn’t been in a long time. The food and drink were great. We always come early and have a drink in the bar.

Jonathan S

We had a positively lovely brunch at Bambara. Their menu largely consists of American classics, but with interesting little twists on them, like the Brunch Burger below - including a fried egg and chervil hollandaise. And the herbed fries were outstanding (and included actual, identifiable pieces of herbs that had been fried along with the fries - delicious). The setting was pleasant and afforded the opportunity to watch downtown life, and the service was attentive and quick.

S Jen

My boyfriend took me here in the middle of the week during lunch and I can't wait to go back. We were sat quickly and immediately serviced. The waitress was extremely knowledgeable of the menu and recommended a wonderful wine which we've never had before. We likes the wine so much that we ended up buying a few bottles of the liquor store on the way home. I highly recommend this restaurant. The only downfall is that it is a little bit expensive but I do believe you get what you pay for.

JoAnne Labbe

The fish was not good because it was not fresh..But they credited me for it. Quite Pricy, small servings.

Lucas Buck

Always a go to! Avocado n carnitas Benedict is spectacular !

katie crooks

We come to SLC one to two times a year. We always make a special trip downtown to eat THE BEST meal in all of downtown SLC. The service is great, Chrit is always there to share the best pairings of wine while we dine!!!! Be sure to check this excellent restaurant out while you pass through SLC.

Arn Heggers

Best food we have had in SLC! The staff was attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu. The ambiance was the perfect setting for a special occasion. Definitely make reservations well in advance and be prepared to spend a little extra to experience the culinary delights.

Greg

Server suggested French toast, which I ordered. I received 4 sticks of bread and 3 blackberries. It tasted fine but I was hungry when I arrived and obviously I was hungry when I left. Oh and it was a bit overpriced for a sliced piece of fried bread. I should have taken a pic!

Nils Johansson

Wow! Happy memories made. Seedlip mocktails... Delicious

Rob Landtiser

Food is very, very good. By far the best meal we had in Utah the last 7 days. Service was , as to be expected, exceptional. My gf got the elk and I got the chicken. Both we're cooked as requested and tasted great.

Tahmina Khanom

Super expensive mediocre drinks (try the Red Door next door instead). Food is delicious, but very large portions. My tuna poke “appetizer” was more than enough for a meal. My mussels fish was way too sweet, but the flavor was still amazing

Karen Robbins

Lovely interior, excellent food, great service. A bit pricey for some but we were looking for a special treat.

Ervin Dhima

Service was average, Salmon was undercooked, mussels tasted like rubber with a very strong fishy smell. In addition, my wife got food poisoning an hour after we got home, most likely from the mussels.

Shaan Somani

Came in with high expectations but was honestly not too impressed. I ordered the elk carpaccio and the seared rare hamachi, both of which were well presented and texturally great but really lacked any notable flavors. To their credit, the double double chocolate panna cotta was excellent, and the tea time cocktail was funky in a good way. Service was attentative as well. On the whole, I enjoyed several elements of my meal, but can't help but walk out feeling a bit underwhelmed.

Sheetal Krishna

It was a classy restaurant that gave me hotel Tipton (From the Suite life of Zack and Cody) feels from the outside. From the inside it seemed pretty small, like it was just a little part of the hotel and not a stand alone restaurant. The chefs cook right in front of you and the staff was very friendly. I expected the place to be insanely expensive but it wasn't all that bad. Not too many options for vegetarians though. The non vegetarian food tasted amazing. We went with 3 different starters instead of ordering any of the main course meals, which worked out much cheaper, was very filling and gave us some variety. Overall, a nice fine dining restaurant to try out in downtown SLC.

Alex Emerson

Delicious - I would happily come back to SLC just for bambara

Jacqueline Kofoed

A few hours after we had lunch my daughter fell ill from something she ate. Needless to say we are not going back.

Inigo Scholfield

The server we had was outstanding! Very knowledgeable, helpful, accommodating and also a Somm! The kitchen was also very accommodating, as we made a special request with nearly everything we ordered and each was met with an empathic, "Yes!"

Nathaniel Rees

Only complaint I had was that my Salmon was over cooked, I was surprised as everything else was great, especially the corn bisk!

Stat Sig

Food is good with big portion size, and service is great. A bit pricey...

Bruce

Scottish Salmon is delicious here. The best thing in the menu is the corn bisque though!

Dawn Burgess

Fun music! Great times! Love the performets

Priscilla Perez

Very delicious. Quick, helpful, and friendly service. It has a great interior.

YBK LEG

Absolutely amazing experience, such great taste in every dish. The service was incredible, Jacob took care of us and made sure we were taken care of perfectly. Would recommend to anyone looking for amazing food. Also would recommend you ask for Jacob as your server. ;)

Jordan Urry

Great place to eat brunch at. Love going to this place.

Mike Hall

Had duck quesadilla. Was fine but not amazing.

Daniel Chu

Legendary corn bisque soup and wedge salad, amazing halibut, and probably the best strawberry Panna Cotta dessert you've ever had.

Veronica S

Excellent service and quality food.

Rachelle R

Very happy we landed on Bambara for dinner during our visit, from Seattle. An eclectic and well rounded menu, their open kitchen is fantastic. Everything from the Aperitifs to the Mains were perfect. Every aspect of each dish was well composed and beautifully executed. From sautee to expo, this kitchen knows their food. We will be back next time we are in SLC.

Gavin Agnew

Bob Kaufman

Thanksgiving buffet not worth it. For eighty bucks, I expect something pretty spectacular. Stein Eriksen was sold out so we searched for an alternative. Bambara was available. First, they messed up our reservation. Our group of fifteen was promised a private room. We reconfirmed as well. Upon arrival, they claimed no such room was available. So much for that. There was a seafood table, about six sides, and a choice of beef and turkey. Points off for no horseradish sauce. All these dishes were fine... again nothing spectacular. The one saving grace were the desserts. They were great, many choices, and almost made up for an otherwise mediocre experience.

Sylvia Spoklie

Excellent food. Usually good service.

Sally Humeniuk

Beautiful hotel, Sunday brunch was mediocre at best. Eggs were so overcooked- over medium eggs were both over hard and the omelet was rubbery with the burnt egg taste when eggs get cooked too long. The service was slow with no follow up. And coffee was hardly worth the refill. I’m surprised with the positive reviews but maybe we got the Sunday crew that weren’t the best trained.

Alasteir Denton

Rebecca Hill

The food has always been excellent, but the service was lacking until just recently. I think with competition, they have upped their game. My last visit was stellar. Very attentive service. Never an empty water glass, many folks checking to see if everything was good. And the food was better than ever. Highly recommended.

Chris Gagne

One of the best meals I have ever had. Elk was cooked perfectly. Creme Brulee...wow.

Rick Ahlander

Beautiful food, amazing service.

Heidi Empey

Blue cheese chips are amazing! Food was great too

Toni Linn Berger

Waiter was less than charming.

Carolyn Reed

This place is a treasure. It is tiny but in small packages come wonderful things and Cafe Provence is one of these. The food is always terrific and the staff attentive. It is a good place to linger over your meal and visit with a good friend or significant other. Treat yourself. Reservations are good because it really is small but cozy.

Benjamin Smith

Our server Jason was awesome. He took the time to answer our questions and made sure we knew what we ordered. Everything was full of flavor and delicious. The portions are perfect not too much that you feel overstuffed but enough to be satisfied. We will be back on the future.

Russell Ward

We had an exquisite experience. We made reservations the weekend before Christmas, so they were very busy. Because they knew our wait time would be longer than usual, they had an appetizer ready immediately for our table. We had tickets to the Symphony and apologized that we had to leave mid meal. They stored our food after we departed. When we returned, we asked if they could heat up our dinner. Instead they prepared our entrees from scratch and didn’t charge us a penny. They also gave us free dessert and complimentary wine. I have never experienced such thoughtful quality service. On top of that the food was amazing and atmosphere very inviting. The hostess and Jake our server were great! We will be back!

Landon Allen

As always, reliably incredible food and unmatched service.

Kyle Leavitt

Wish I could give it 0 Stars! Wouldn’t recommend

k kai'a pfeiffer

Always love Bambara for their amazing spreads at brunch, and the lobby wine hour they host. The CSM and Bambara assistant manager always treat everyone with the utmost respect and hospitality like I'm a family member returning home after a long trip away. The salmon is to die for ♡ & hors d'œuvres make the perfect tie over whilst waiting for your reservation. Cheers Kimpton.

Michael Hayward

The food is a delight and the service is prompt and courteous, provided by a knowledgable staff. My wife and I shared the beet salad, the corn chowder, an Elk carpaccio and the short rib ravioli. All of it was delicious .

Adam Oettli

Pretty good not great! Fries were the bottom of the barrel always best to change those every hr or so not every 3! Solid not great! Used to be better!

Jordan Turner

This is where I take my wife to spoil her for mothers day. Make reservations long in advance but worth it for the brunch. That is the only meal I've had here but we come every year for the mothers day brunch. Mmm

Irena Gjymshana

Horrible experience for 200 bucks. Most of all the food was disgusting, I got sick from their mussels as soon as I got home. Ravioli were horrible, they tasted like leftovers that were cooked again. Potato chips... probably a bag of potato chips from wallmart or every other place would have tasted million times better. For sure never going back again even if offered a free meal, not worth it the risk of getting sick again.

Guthrie Paterson

Solid lunch and dinner spot in downtown SLC. Classic American cuisine - and a great vibe.

Kathy Wilson

The food is always made to perfection. The staff is always friendly. It is always clean and tidy. Always recommend!

Jim Myrick

Showed up just as they closed between lunch and dinner. The chef said he would cook something and to have a seat in the bar. Ordered club sandwich and it was very good. Fries came with it and they were addictive little crunchy fries. Lot of food and not bad dollars and cents. Bar has a great selection of scotch and will need to visit again.

Jeremy Schoen

Really nice place, friendly staff. The filet of beef was delicious

Kristina West

Food mediocre. Staff very nice. Atmosphere not very elegant considering the location and prices. Our fish was dry, we had the branzino. Felt a bit too much like a diner versus a proper restaurant.

Tyler Fisher

Great food, atmosphere, and excellent staff!

Kevin Hinton

I was quite excited to come here after reading all of the great reviews but I must say I was pretty disappointed. The ambiance was quite poor as you could tell you were at a hotel restaurant with absolutely no character. The service was good, fast and friendly. The food was ok but nothing to get overly excited about. I had the branzino but it was basically just the fish with some small cherry tomatoes inside which overall was uninspiring. If you are staying in the hotel and you want a quick convenient meal by all means come here, otherwise SLC has better options.

pablo hernandez

The food is always made to perfection. The staff is always friendly. It is always clean and tidy. Always recommend!

Justin Mills

Excellent food, perfect service. Got the elk, shishito, and kale. The elk and shishitos were both excellent.

Scott Elder

Blue cheese chips are worth the price of admission alone. Nice atmosphere, the special is usually worth a try. One star off for the occasionally condescending service.

Brad Huff

The chef and staff were amazing. The food was perfect. Loved every bit of it.

Stu Fisher

Great in SLC; just okay in any other major city, IMO. Pluses: my elk was cooked perfectly, interesting dishes/flavor combos, great space. Minuses: some of the food wasn’t prepared properly, forgot to season, wine list is meh, service was uninspiring. Most people will like it just fine, and their existing reviews reflect that people really do like it, but I guess I have a higher bar than average.

Michael Hughes

This is my favourite place to eat in the SLC area. Seasonal menu is always fantastic.

David Provost

A great atmosphere .

Becky Russell

Got there near five, it wasn't very busy. The staff was helpful and kind. Prices were decent.

Michael Holunga

What a great place. This was my second time here. The food is excellent and the service perfect. Our server Chrit who is also a sommelier was very knowledgeable and entertaining. My wife and I had a wonderful time. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Roxy Cross

Just had lunch there with Matthew the nine year old. I have nothing but good to say about this restaurant and the people who work there and the quality of food. Absolutely top quality and fabulous service. Thank you Jason Seth Danica Nicole Augustine for taking such good care of us!

Frank Armstead III

Dope place. Food was superb and waiter was on point. I wanna go back!!!

Sal Giani

Amazing dishes!

Clark Randall

Bambara was a great place to eat dinner. We arrived a little earlier than most people have dinner (5:30) and so we were seated quickly. The server was nice and personable, recommending the specials and his favorites. The potato chip appetizer was delicious, and the lamb and salmon were prepared wonderfully. The prices were a little high, but the food was worth it.

John Warnock

Great food, the kind of place you'd take the In laws to when they come to town. Pricey, but hey, this is Bambara's! Hotel Monaco gives a classy setting and great food to pair with hopefully fun conversation.

Melinda Carroll

Super place to meet and chat with coworkers. Service is consistently good. They have so many great reviews for a reason.

Carmella Brown

Great restaurant, fit for foodies. ..the scallops were to die for!

Lexy S.

Worth spending the amount of money that I end up spending here. The food is amazing. Even if it's not what I typically order at other restaurants. I can try something new and have a different outlook on the taste of certain foods when I come here. The cooks really know what they are doing here. Love it!

Phil Schoenfeld

This restaurant is NOT worth the price; food mediocre at best. Waitstaff was also pretty rude. There are WAY better restaurants in SLC!

Todd

What is not to like? Great place for family dinner or a date or even by yourself

H M

AMAZING FOOD AND SERVICE! Fantastic setting....would highly recommend to couples and for work functions. Very intimate space in a historic building.

Kayleigh Smith

Went here for brunch on Saturday and had a really nice time. Our service was quick and our waitress was very sweet. Their menu is accommodating for those who eat healthy or are vegetarian. The bistro omelette was delicious and the perfect amount of food.

Jim Palmer

One of the best restaurants in SLC.

Mandy Hutchison

New winter menu just rolled out, and the elk loin is simply life-changing! The roasted marrow bones were also amazing. Colin did an excellent job with menu and wine recommendations and it was quite obvious how well the staff is trained. This is a must eat in SLC!

Nephi Draper

This is my favorite restaurant!!!

Whitney Pearson

A great choice for brunch or meal before performance at Capital or Eccles. Valet, eat, walk to show.

Mona B

Omelet could use more flavor. Potatoes were really good. Homemade Jam was awesome

Parker Fillmore

One of our favorites. Not cheap, but worth it. Great place to stop before visiting the Capital theatre. When I want really delicious food, and let someone else prepare it, these guys are the perfect solution. Fresh herbs, real cream, excellent balance for the palate, perfectly cooked end temperatures. When I order a steak medium rare, it arrives exactly that every time. Thanks Bambara!

Russell Spjut

This is a great downtown restaurant for a bit of a nicer lunch. The building still has it's charm from its former life and makes for a great atmosphere. Every dish I have tried has been great from salads to sandwhiches to burgers. I really enjoy the aioli they serve with their french fries. Their prices are a bit higher than some other places, but I think the quality and experience are worth it.

Gerard Vertucci

Very nice restaurant in the Monaco hotel! Delicious food and great friendly staff make it one of my favorite places to eat whenever I visit the SLC!

Homes by Shaunna Shurtliff

The bartender for the Vault @ Bambara is amazing.. Erica.. she truly has an amazing talent. Not only is she personable and adorable but she knows her stuff. She created 4 of the most amazing cocktails for us on her own and they were the best drinks I’ve ever had... wow. Thank you!!!

Carin Whitaker

Bambara and the associated bar, The Vault, are both located in the Hotel Monaco. Often hotel bars and restaurants are mediocre but that is not the case with these two spots. The atmosphere in The Vault on Pride weekend was convivial and service was very good. I ordered a wedge salad with chicken which was delicious. The cocktails, while pricey ($16) are thoughtfully created and original. It's a great spot for a quick bite and a delicious cocktail.

Laura Hopkinson

One of my favorite SLC restaurants

Caroline kochinuk

Fantastic, from beginning to end! Stopped in before a concert up the street, and the experience was simply put, fantastic. Our server, Crit, was outstanding. The food was incredible, along with amazing cocktails. We're were a little pressed for time on getting to the show, but Crit assured us that he would get us there on time, and he did. Just a wonderful night all the way around. Definitely will stop in anytime I'm in the area.

Karen Brooks

Had lunch at the restaurant today - calamari and house salad, iced tea. The waitress was very nice, the ice tea was fine. The calamari was so salty plus heavy breading that I thought I was in Denny's. My salad consisted of greens and cheese. The dressing had soaked the greens limp and the shaved cheese was almost non-existent. I was offered a cookie at the end and I accepted but it turned out to be under cooked and mushy. I was so disappointed in the food that I won't go back. I was treating myself to a lovely lunch but instead I let way down.

Taya Fillmore

All the food was awesome very happy with the service, our waiter Jacob did an excellent job super helpful and an overall great experience with my family.

Juan Manuel Ruiz-Herrada

Absolutely amazing and great for business

Shane Willard

Great atmosphere, great food.

Emily Howard

The Elk was memorable and the huckleberry creme brulee was delicious. Service was great too. Overall a wonderful dinner.

Ryan Roberts

The food is great! I had the 14oz new York strip, a wedge salad, a fried calamari appetizer, and the white chocolate cheesecake. My meal was fantastic and all of the others in our group were satisfied as well. I may have been full or just expecting something else but if I go back I think I will skip dessert, I wasn't a huge fan of the cheesecake. Service was great, the waiter was very attentive, making sure were well taken care of. Before taking our order he explained each menu item and gave some solid recommendations. He also let me mix and match sides to my liking.

Mary Crafts

Great place for business lunch and they always have great lunch specials.

Coach Frits

I've only just started with the calamari ave silky corn bisque. I have to give the best calamari in Utah award to Bambara. The bisque; heavenly.

Mark McCormack

Bambara is a really good restaurant but it is very expensive. My friends and I can rack up a bill pretty quick and this place got us good. I have been a few times and it has been great every time. It is in the Hotel Monoco and if I was coming from out of town, this is a great place to go. Great cocktail list and the appetizers are excellent.

Scott McClintock

Excellent food and service. The Elk with pork belly and potatoes was delicious and cooked perfectly. The Huckleberry sauce adds just the right amount of sweet and tart to the dish. Atmosphere is cool and all business. Would be great for large team special dinner to celebrate closing that million dollar contract. Pricey.

dizwhiz1

I went for brunch, service was slow and inattentive. I ordered the steak and eggs medium rare and it came well done...after waiting 20 minutes for the server to return they replaced only the steak even though everything else on the plate was cold. They did comp the steak and eggs but I was really disappointed about a restaurant with such a high rating really dropping the ball. Brunch isn't too tough but that was really bad. My seat also was peeling, looked pretty dilapidated.

Daniel Ostrovsky

Too expensive for food that is not so tasty...

Loren Spoklie

Food is so great and drinks

The bartender for the Vault @ Bambara is amazing.. Erica.. she truly has an amazing talent. Not only is she personable and adorable but she knows her stuff. She created 4 of the most amazing cocktails for us on her own and they were the best drinks I’ve ever had... wow. Thank you!!!

I can honestly say that Bambara is one of my favorite restaurants in downtown Salt Lake City. We go there specifically for the scallops. I also love their melt-in-your-mouth Strawberry Panna Cotta. Nice atmosphere & excellent food! The food is made from high-quality ingredients. I highly recommend this place.

Fantastic service, wonderful food: My wife and I have been intending to eat at Bambara for more than a year—I wish we wouldn’t have waited so long. The highlight was the service; Jake was knowledgable and attentive—but not too attentive. The food was fantastic; the quality was evident yet at the same time this isn’t a restaurant where you have to sneak your phone out to determine what is on the menu. Tip: ask for the high tops by the open kitchen.

Well, the best burger in town is back at Bambara for the new brunch menu. For a while the best burger was at the avenues bistro on 3rd, but new ownership changed some things which ended in a soggy and not as tasty burger... Bambara had my fave burger about 4 years ago... now, it is the greatest news to my mouth to say... THIS NEW BRUNCH BREAKFAST BURGER IS AMAZE BALLS!!! gruyere, onion straws, frickin carmelized inion petals, great beef, and buns that won’t quit!!! I am pleased!!! Can’t wait to try the short rib hash and the new French toast! Thank the food and beverage gods for this place! Salt Lake would not be the same without it!

Went here on a splurge for our anniversary dinner. My wife ordered the chicken, and said it was the best chicken she had ever tasted. I had the fish, and it was great too! We got to sit by the open kitchen and thought it was so fun to see them at work.

Nothing special - nothing bad ... food was too spicy for us - Yes we did ask for zero spice

My wife and I went to Bambara for her birthday, and we had an exceptional experience. The food was fantastic. We started with the marrow bones, then had the beef filet and elk loin for our main, and finished with the huckleberry crème brûlée (we went all out). Everything was delicious. Our service was beyond expectations. We never had to wait for anything, and our server was friendly, funny, and knowledgeable; he even wrote my wife a birthday card. I would absolutely recommend Bambara and plan to visit again.

Way over priced, but definitely tasty. The cheapest entree is $29, and it was the only vegetarian option. No vegan options. It was the pumpkin gnocchi and it was fantastic. A little lacking on vegetables, but very delicious nonetheless. Portion sizes are a little small, but it's nice not to feel completely stuffed after a nice meal.

We had a wonderful meal from start to finish. The restaurant isn't large so you should make a reservation. I was there with a work colleague. We shared the Tuna Poke appetizer and it was very tasty. My colleague had the Steelhead which he really enjoyed and I had the Pork Porterhouse which was listed under the section with the Steaks. It was well seasoned, fork tender and absolutely delicious with blend of sauces. Highly recommend that dish as well as the restaurant overall. Pricing isn't cheap but it reflects the quality of the food so was fair for the meal. We are spoiled for choice in NYC for great food and this restaurant would stand up to some very stiff NYC competition. The service was great--prompt but not intrusive. Would happily go back.

I like this place because it's one of the few places I've found in Salt Lake that serves or served venison. It may have been a menu special at the time. It was really good venison though and reminded me of home. If it's not a menu regularity, it should be. However, I wasnt a fan of much else from the menu.

Came with a large group - half the dishes were a hit, the other half a complete miss, so somewhat unpredictable. Hated the gnochi and any dish with mushrooms (usually LOVE mushrooms) but they tasted like shoe soles. LOVED the steak and deserts - chocolate torte and cheesecake were amazing. Staff was great. Would come back now knowing what was good.

We had a very pleasant experience at Bambara! We both ordered staple dishes. Lindsay had the Salmon & I ordered the filet. The chef (Robert Hess) sent out an amazing appetizer layered potatoe cake with a glorious sauce. Service was amazing & my filet was the best I have had in SLC. Following the main course Rob sent a divine chocolate & ice cream combo. Bambara has a great wine list & my cocktail from the vault was Rob Roy craft worthy! I recommend a visit for a 5 star dining extravaganza...

What a disappointment! This was rated one of the best places to eat in the city so we decided to try it. 4 our of the 5 things tried were terrible! Must be an inexperienced chief! First of all the place does not have a great ambiance. I had black pants on and was not offered a black napkin. The recommended blue cheese potato chips were awful and had zero flavor. I sent back my gnocchi because it was the density of an actual cooked potato!! What chief would serve such a thing? Gnocchi should always be light and fluffy and you should not even know it’s made of potato. My husbands steak was over cooked. The soup was good, but with not being able to eat the appetizer and Sending the entree back, I ordered a side salad and that was even terrible. How do you mess up a side salad? High disaster of a dinner. Mediocre at best.

One of the best restaurants in SLC!!!

Amazing breakfast! Friendly staff! The Chefs Eye Opener (Triple shot esspresso over ice with 1/2&1/2) is the perfect start to the day!

Overpriced food, terrible service. Went out on a date night. We were scheduled for the Nutcracker. We had about 1 hour to eat and told our waiter. He proceeded to tell us we were his "most important table" and we never saw him again. My date ordered a drink from the bar and we had to ask the seating hostess about it. Our starters (soup and salad) took FOREVER to be served and while good, it was certainly not $11 good. Our meal once again had to be inquired about and when we were finally served the waiter brought the check and kissed up for a tip. I will definitely eat somewhere else especially if I'm catching a show. Think twice if you are considering eating here. For the price and the food are NOT worth it!

We come here every Sunday for the salmon eggs benedict! The only decent Sunday brunch within walking distance. My only complaint is that yes, it is a little bit spendy. But you're in downtown SLC... What do you expect?!

The BEST steak I've ever eaten!

Great restaurant to celebrate your anniversary

I wanted to love this so much more than I did. I felt it was rather overpriced. I got the scallops, they were quite good, but I think because of the prices I lay have set my hopes too high. Great location though.
