We had a poor experience as customers. Its a great facility. Superb location. Well maintained. Food too was great. However staff is ill behaved and pretty rude. No customer wants to face brunt of your notes may be personal problems. Definitely need a radical shift towards customer centricity.

Noreen McManus-Stuart

Great place to see the sunset. Don’t panic if the line is long to be seated, they get you in pretty fast. Plus you can wander around, listen to music upstairs while you wait. We had fajitas for 2. Serving is big, dish wasn’t amazing, but good. It came out super fast.

Saurabh Mankar

No matter what I write about this place it’s not going to be enough. This is a perfect place for your first date, as you can see how beautiful the sunset over here is.. Despite the obvious beautiful scenic location, they had an amazing selection of food. The guy who waited on us was very helpful and he knew the menu really well. If you’re in Austin and you want a relaxing time along with some great food, this is definitely a spot you don’t wanna miss.

Shanille Clarke

So I went because I heard great things but experienced the total opposite . Waited in line and was told that we would have an hour and a half wait time and they would text me . So we waited and waited and waited no text . Went to the counter and asked they told me to go back and ask the girls at the door about how much longer the wait was . So I went to the girls at the door and was told that the counter (the same place that I just walked from would have the information. I went back to the counter and they looked for my information and it was not in the system . They got us a table didn’t have the best view and the sun was almost down by this time . The waitress did not care, about anything, it is a very busy place however after waiting for so long was waited about another hour for our food. No update nothing. Although we were not able to get a good view , it was beautiful , but the service was horrible , the food was ok.

Nicholas Willard

The view was fantastic. Well, it would have been if there weren't dozens of people hovering around my table blocking the view and asking me to take their picture. If the host tries to seat you in the table by the stairs, ask for a different one.

Antonio Avanti

The food is awesome, the views are awesome and the service surprisingly fast for the scale of this place. It's so nice to eat somewhere where the quality of the food hasn't been eroded by the the sheer size of the restaurant. Then of course there's the sunset! I'd suggest securing a table an hour before sunset and get ready to whip out those gopros and mobile phones. Whether you have a big group of people or just on a date, you will have a great time.

Abelardo Lopez

Not worth the almost two hour wait on my wife and had this Saturday. The view at sunset is good but we're use to the sunset at South Padre Island. We left and ate at a BBQ restaurant nearby, as we were done eating, they contacted us letting us know our seats were ready. This place is not for us. It was packed though, so it looks like people really like it.

Patrick Reagan

Pretty decent food, but a bit high for what it is and the smaller portions. I feel like 60% of the cost of your food is for the amazing view of the lake. Also, this is an isolated incident, but our server never came back to our table after giving us our food (40+ minutes). Otherwise, great atmosphere, great views.

George Tesfa

Of course, nice landscape and view. The food comes so late and they don’t even provide chips with salsa so that you can drink beer in the meantime. I don’t eat chips but many people do. They charge for chips and salsa. They have the right to do so but food should come little faster.

Eli Cantu

Michelle at Oasis attended our table and made our night. The food was great and the view was better. She went more then the extra mile to make our experience a great one. It is not easy to find amazing individuals that are a light to those around them. And because of this 5 starts!

Amanda Kuroda

The view of Lake Travis is wonderful! It's a huge restaurant that feels like a mini resort. If you're trying to go for the sunset, be prepared for a crowd and a long wait time. Thankfully, they have plenty of bars, a lounge, and a rooftop with a band (depending on the time and day) for you to hang out at while you wait, and you can still take pictures. The food is alright, so just know you are going for the view!

Johanny Reyes

The most amazing view! Paired with the most amazing venue. Perfect outdoorsy thing to do in Austin! The little shops are cute for a tourist like me looking to get a souvenir. Nice photo opts throughout the venue and on a nice sunny day it’s nice to enjoy a cold brew or a frozen margarita overlooking that lake!

Miranda Wright

These views are hard to beat in Austin. If the weather is good always ask for outside seating--but the inside decor is also super interesting! The food is also very good and despite having to get all the way out to the deck got to us hot.

Michael Cabrera

Great food. Fajitas were awesome. Sunset was amazing, Drinks were delicious. They had a band playing some good old 80's tune. Me and my wife had a blast.

Came to Austin to celebrate my birthday, was told by friends at home to try The Oasis- everyone raved about it. We won't recommend this place to anyone. We arrived at 1:30pm on a Saturday & were seated right away. We asked for an outside table & were sat at a plastic table mostly in the sun on a cramped deck. All the tables around us had 4 umbrellas around their tables & we had none. We waited for 10 minutes after being sat before getting up and leaving. The table behind us had a waiter there no less than 4 times in those 10 minutes - not once did he speak to us or ask if we wanted some water. We got tired of sweating and walked to the bar to ask for some water. The bartender saw us standing there and kept up his conversation with a waiter. When we asked him for water, he stated they only sell bottled water in the gift shop. We promptly left. I have no idea if their food was good or not. A nice view is not worth being ignored and left drinkless in the August sun.

The Oasis on Lake Travis is bliss. Such a unique and beautiful representation of nature. In addition, we had great customer service from all the employees we met. It's a must see and I look forward to my next visit.

Tina Bennett

The view is better than the food. We were celebrating my nephew's birthday and we went to the supposed Mexican restaurant, well the menu is limited and the food was not anything that stands out. My daughter sent her food back. My nephew and I shared the fajitas shrimp and chicken. The chicken was kinda bland. The shrimp was ok. The chips were probably the best part of the meal, salsas a bit ordinary. Will return but only for the view of Lake Travis

Chris Guidry

Patio is a great place to see the sunset. Margaritas are terrible. Hurricane cooler is awesome. Chicken fajitas were really good. Food always takes forever Wait staff is pretty attentive.

Ethan Baker

Great view of Lake Travis. Place has totally changed in the last 10 years - it looks like a mini-mall. Has a parking garage, the restaurant has easily doubled in size. I'm sure a lot of that has to do with the Oasis Brewing Company going in next door. The quality of food has improved, that's for sure. It used to be HORRIBLE. It's not wonderful bit it's decent. Worth the trip out there

Sofia Villarreal

I came here with my family of 6 to enjoy a view by the lake. Everything was fine except for the fact that they gave each of us water in a plastic cup with a plastic straw without us ordering it. The Oasis doesn’t understand the environmental impact of giving each of their many customers this amount of plastic. I would like to see The Oasis considering the environment a little more and only giving their customers what they ask for, including using reusable cups (that are not plastic), and only giving them water or straws upon their asking. I will not visit The Oasis again until they change their ways. When can I expect action on this issue The Oasis? Please like or comment on this review if you agree and await action from The Oasis.

What gorgeous sunset views! Being new to Austin, most places are new for us, but there are many we won't bother going back to. This one is definitely going to be a frequent stop for us. Really enjoyed our Friday evening there!

Shalini Vijayakumar

Really a must see place. The sunset view is amazing and do not miss out on it. I mostly saw people having a snack type food and sat outside for 2 hours just to enjoy the view. Service was good, people were nice. It's a 1 hour waiting to get a table inside and outside is even longer.

anam sultana

The view is amazing! I suggest going there later on hotter days to get an amazing view of the setting sun. You can check out the view from 3 levels too. They have all sorts of food shops and stores. I think it's worth a go if you're looking to have some fun or just enjoy a view with some food.

Donna Barlow

The view was amazing. The menu lunch selection is very limited. A bit pricey. Food was ok. Waiter was too talkative to table next to us while we waited for drinks. When food arrived waiter felt he had to explain what the a small dish of after meal dessert was and not to put on my meal which kind of insulted me as if i didnt know. But loved the atmosphere.

luis rangel

Nice view especially of the sunset. Food is good as well. Service could be a bit better

marconi adhikari

nice place, nice food. big crowd in a good way...nice place to hang out. Kids also loved the place and they wanted to go there second time.

J E-J

Such a fun and beautiful place to eat with the most gorgeous views of Lake Travis. Food is wonderful. Service is fast and staff is amazing!!! We will definitely be coming back to visit.

Niv Pai

Excellent location to catch scenic sunsets and spend an evening out with friends and family. Casual place with a fun vibe and nice ambience. They have live music and dancing as well. The area is quite big with multiple floors, So you won’t have trouble finding a spot or table. Highly recommend.

Nikeisha Burgess

Go For The Ambiance. Stay For The Experience. No Other Location Offers Such Beautiful Scenery And Entertainment As The Oasis. As A First Timer To This Delightful Hot Spot, I Was Thoroughly Impressed. I Look Forward To Visiting Again.

Tejashri Patel

This place is beautiful, especially during sunset. Food options are good too, with a view is delight. They have live music in the restaurant. You can spend min an hour to two here. And the restaurants and bars offer wide range of drinks. Its mostly crowded in the evening during dusk so make sure to grab a spot to view sunset.

Eli Zavala

The view and the experience are absolutely beautiful. Food is ok, nothing to write home about. Yet I will go here again just because the view on the lakeside is beautiful and the atmosphere is just really relaxing. The piggy bank does not have to be broken to eat here either. Do go, the view and atmosphere are just really nice, highly recommend this place.

Adel Boussattach

I had great time. Our waiter Taylor was superb... it was busy but he was on top of things. Please ask for him and judge for your self. Visited from Houston, My how this area has grown from my last visit on 1995 cafe Adobe then.

Wanda Lozada

Food was fast food quality at best. And actually I've had a better burger at Wendy's. Service and view were great!

Kisyfur2

It was hot in the Starlight Terrace for Sunday Salsa with The Brew, but always worth it. We love the chips and salsa and iced tea. The sunset it always awesome!

Jason Pascascio

The view, SPECTACULAR! The service (Fernando), PHENOMENAL! The gentlemen that shuttled us to the entrance (forgot his name), INSPIRING! This place along with our weekend stay in Austin sealed the deal for my wife and I to leave Houston behind in the near future and move our things and settle into Austin. Thanks Oasis, Thanks Austin!!! We'll be back!

Kelly Gadbury

The most beautiful views on Austin! It have several restaurants and a few cute shops. It's a definite must see in Austin

Kippie Georgii

Since we read the reviews on yelp and saw the food wasn't worth it we ate before coming here. We walked around and took photos of the view. We actually hanged out on the bar and even though it was super hot we had a good time playing pool and watching the lake.

Piper Lee

Food was good. Waitress (Ondrea) was pretty cool, she made the experience better for sure! Bartender seemed miserable during our wait. Interesting experience. Great view. Bird pooped on my friend, hair in my water, which the waitress quickly fixed, the fan was dripping on me so I had to unplug it and turn the valve off in order to not be soaked. Unfortunately they sat a bridal party of Brittanys near us which I could've done without but it was good cheap entertainment watching them act like idiots. Entertaining for sure!

bruno vasquez

Very casual and comfortable restaurant. The drinks are a little pricey but with the views you can easily look pass that. The food was delicious, the fajitas were so tender. Definitely a cool place to take a first date or have a nice anniversary dinner.

Jim S

This review is for the brewery up on the 3rd floor. Had a great time there last weekend. Views are good, food was fantastic, and it has a more chill vibe than the main restaurant ( and didn't seem to be as crowded).

Iri P

This place makes me feel like I’m on holiday. I’m able to disconnect to some amazing views, decent service and good food albeit limited in selection. The drinks pretty good also. Pro tip: get to the outdoor waiting area while you wait for a table by passing straight through the front entrance to the outdoors and take the stairs down to the lower level where there is also a bar close by.

Ian Tilley

Oasis is an Austin attraction that everyone should have in their list of places to visit! The menu is simple with great food. I highly recommend the Diablo Shrimp. Watching the sunset on the decks is simply beautiful. Eating dinner by the calm lake is a great way to relax and chill with friends and family. The wait staff is very friendly and great about taking pictures of you with the lake in the background. Definitely follow the instructions of getting there about an hour before sunset. While you wait or after you eat there is an abundance of things to do. There's a gift shop in addition to neat little shops on the second floor. Great place to walk around and ample seating in the courtyard as well. I definitely plan to return!

Geoffrey Bretches

We had a great time here at the Oasis Restaurant. The setting is really great and almost felt like a bit of southern Europe sitting high above the lake on the tiered deck watching the sun

Ryan Jividen

The views are amazing. The wait can be long, but there just isn't anything like the sunset anywhere around. Also, the food is pretty good.

Edward Mc

Went for late lunch on Thursday at around 3pm. Asked to sit at round table near the glass so could enjoy the view but hostess told us that the tables near the were only for large groups (there were 3 of us). I counted 7 empty round tables at the glass at that time. Asked to speak with the mgr who said the exact same thing and sat us at small square table at top of stairs in the sun. After waiting 15 min and no server in sight, left and ate at the other restaurant on the other side of the property. The 7 empty round tables were still empty when we left. Don't expect any level of customer service if they are so quick to deny a simple and reasonable request.

Jason Denison

Took over an hour to get food after we sat down. We ordered chicken wrap with fries... Three good was good once we got it. Service wasn't good either. We were very disappointed. 2 stars instead of one because of the view and girls that sat is were nice and helpful. I would recommend going and just looking out and getting a picture but not eating here. On top of the bad service and long waits you'll pay for it to $$ It's really a shame because there is so much potential here. Oh, one last thing, nope, they don't have sweet tea...

delundra williams

It was beautiful but the patio is hot when the sun is out. Go when it is sunset or night. Food was really good. Tickets not split but lady was nice to split ours. It was a nice time and beautiful view. The shuttle is a little wreckless and they definitely want a tip both ways so be prepared.

Claire Wimberly

Obviously a very popular spot, and it was VERY crowded at 8:30 on a Friday- there was a 45 minute long wait for 2. Pleasantly surprised at drink pricing- for a relative “tourist trap” the drinks weren’t outrageous. Definitely put your name on the restaurant wait list and go to the Starlight on the third floor for drinks and live music (with a view) while you wait. The menu is pretty small and not varied, which was kind of disappointing. However, we ordered the beef fajita nachos and they were excellent- more than enough for two people with one order. Our waitress was fantastic and very on the ball, especially considering how crowded it was.

Rose Papineau

What a amazing place. Loved the view of the lake at sunset. They sat us down at the perfect spot . Best Margarita I ever had. We had the best waitress her name was Gewel, very friendly and pleasant. The food was amazing. Served fast and my burger was cooked the way I like it yum.

Gautam Chand Nutalapati

I came here couple of times. Definitely recommended during non-busy hours. Definitely not recommended during bussy hours. View is amazing, food is average. Make reservation in person two hours ago on weekend evenings.

Brian Mathis

The place is awesome. First time outside of downtown Austin that I visit for business a lot. If I did not know I was in Texas I would have sworn I was in Oregon. Go in the evening and watch the sun set. Food is ok, drinks are reasonable, but the view is great.

Gloria Lewis

Saturdays are very busy. We arried 4:50pm, sun was hot, but we were well seated. The sun set at 7:22pm, the scene was as I remembered over a decade ago, romantic, great for date.

Yazan AbuKhaled

Great view. Food was great. But the soup is not really soup.

Chris Gadbury

Was surprisingly pleasant and fun. Heard all kinds of stories about how awful the service and food are and that people only come for the booze and view, but our experience was really good all the way around, guess we got lucky. I'd say come early if you want a better experience

Erica Chan

Amazing views! ... But that's about it. The food is the quintessential definition of a tourist trap: standard American fare (why is this place called a Tex Mex restaurant when there's very little Mexican food on the menu?) at sub par quality and high prices. I bet they buy everything from Sysco pre-made and just arrange it on your plate.

Tee F Kay

That is a place you should not miss when visiting Austin. The food is pretty good and you'll have a decent menu to chose from. The best is the the view from the balcony that makes every meal a very memorable one (if the weather plays along!) The sunsets are legend and the place gets pretty crowded as everyone seems to want this shot for the desktop computer at home :-) ! Once you're don you may use the chance and dance inside to live music (on weekends).

Derek Huckobey

Very lively, live music. Food is pretty good and service was great for us. Get there early to get a good spot to see the awesome sunsets.

Kamilah Coleman

The food and atmosphere was very pleasant. My sister and niece was here from out of town and was blown away by the views! They told everyone back home if their experience!

Keyna Mason

View is amazing, line is long, food is not why I rated it a 3. I had the simple chicken nachos. The bathrooms on the main floor is why I gave it a 3 - during prime time hours however. I told one of the hostess in the red shirt by the stairs and got the "ok will get right on it" answer, but it had such a long line I think they couldn't close it down to get everything off the floors. So my daughter and I hiked it up to the 3rd floor bathroom which is larger and tends to be the cleaner choice during our 4 hour time there......the had free balloon animals for the children while you were at the table

Feli Cuellar

This place is very beautiful but my experience here was quite interesting. For starters it took the waiters on the top floor a while to come take our order, then when we get our drinks there was a LIPSTICK STAIN on my cup! How gross! I’m still in shock how that could slip. I would go back but not to eat/dine here.

Tamara Lemon

A fun place to have dinner. And a beautiful setting. The chicken fajitas were good. We didn't care for the empanadas. It would have been nice if they had some kind of blinds for the window that we could have drawn while we were waiting for the sun to set. Conversation was difficult because the sun was in our eyes when turning to face the people on the window side of the table. The AC works well so you may want to bring a sweater.

Josh Dalton

The steak fajitas were incredible! This spot never disappoints. Incredible lake Travis views and amazing food and drinks. Enjoy, we did!

Danial Sabzevari

Very cool decor inside and out. Great location! The food was descent at best but the atmosphere and the view make up for it.

Larry Ercoline

We went there primarily for the view, and the view was fantastic. However, the service and food were marginal at best. When seated, the attendant wiped off the table, but did dry it. We had to use a napkin and dry the table off ourselves. Then a wait staff member made a comment to a member of our party, as she was getting a replacement silverware set, about her helping herself to their serving packets. The only reason we did that was because no one came and asked us what we might need. When inquired if chips would be coming, we were informed that chips are no longer automatic, but only provided if requested. When the chicken fajitas arrived, the chicken was dry. I appreciate the fact it was thoroughly cooked but really did not enjoy. Everyone in the party had chicken fajitas, and the quality was consistently marginal for everyone. In short, if you want a great view, this place cannot be beat. But if you want good service and good food, I honestly cannot recommend.

Jeff DeFiore

Went for lunch today. Wait staff is extremely friendly and very good. The view is beautiful. However, as a restaurant, it’s extremely outdated. Kinda musty. The food is horrendous. Our waiter had to comeback 3 times and ask if were ready because we couldn’t decide. Overpriced and limited menu. Then when the food came it tasted like it came out of the microwave. More than likely wouldn’t go back or recommend.

Michelle Peterson

The view is what brings you here. Food is good, but nothing out of the ordinary. Great spot to watch the sunset! Expect a wait for a seat at peak times. They’ve now added quite a few shops to go visit while you’re there.

Ken Butler

I always enjoy The Oasis absolutely spectacular ambiance. Weekends they do a good brunch lots of fun in the fall, winter and spring but summer only fun at nights, Texas heat....

eric lamb

Very clean, nice place to visit. Had a great overlook patio for picture taking. Not too crowded and parking was close by. Worth a stop.of you are near Austin, TX

Januar Rotti

First, if you Yelp this place, you’ll see 2 and a half stars. Don’t let it’s discourage you. I guess they were all hangry when they wrote the review. Which can be understood when you struggle to find parking, and have to wait in line for quite a while. So for lunch come early when they open. Plenty of table outside. Best view in Austin period. Expect long waiting time for the food to come out. Ours came out in 30 minutes. We understood, because the place was super packed. We had the Fajita plate and it was delicious. The Chile relleno was OK. Remember, this is a tourist attraction. You come here for the view

Carol Mcaliley

so much fun! I reconnected with friends Friday night and Saturday afternoon that I hadn't seen in years! Everyone had a great time. We were there close to 3 hours each time, ate dinner Friday night and lunch on Saturday.Of couse sitting outside with that incredible view is amazing!

Star Houston

This place needs to improve their kitchen by a lot. They served us chips and salsa but the food was burgers? It doesn’t combine. The view is amazing 10/10. Seating is really bad. Perhaps switching the circle tables to squared so more people can fit? The theme at the entrance is beautiful. I felt as if I was in another country! Excellent decor!

Adriana Ortega Díaz

Nice place, food is overall nothing extraordinary, our server was really nice and helpful even though we were a big group. It's a nice place to have a weekend date or a little get together with family/friends. I do recommend this place

Stephanie Price

In town visiting family. Accidentally came across the Oasis

Ashley Nava

Attentive servers. Amazing view. Great food. Interesting decor. Fun for people of all ages.

onya smith

The view is amazing!! The food was mediocre the service was some of the worst I've ever had!! Our waitress came to our table one time it really ruin the experience . which was extremely disappointing because we brought friends from out of town they're hoping for a good time and instead we got over priced food and terrible service

Gabrielle Wilson

I took my family to the Oasis on Friday we had a wonderful time. When we arrived at 6:15pm they where able to seat us right away. We had a party of 18 and needed wheelchair accessible seating. They where able to give a great spot on the terrace over looking the lake. When the sun set we didn’t have to do anything but look out. Our waiter Matt did a phenomenal job. He brought us water first and told us how he was going to take our orders. He also made sure our food was correct when it came out and made sure we had plenty to drink. The food is decent, but the service and the atmosphere makes up for that. After eating we went up stairs to the dance hall and had a blast dancing to Dysfunction Junction.

Patrick Caballero

This is a destination restaurant overlooking Lake Travis in Austin, Texas. It is a sprawling complex of private rooms, dining balconies and bars. They do not take dinner reservations. The busiest time is the sunset hour. Be prepared to wait in line. Once the menu arrives be prepared to be underwhelmed both with the amount of selections and the quality. The food isn't bad, but think of resort food. Mass produced and limited flavor profile. This is a fun evening for out of town guest or a special date. I can't imagine this is in anyone's normal rotation of restaurants. It's worth a try ...it could be your cup of tea.

Temper P

We visited for our second time ever this past weekend and had such a great experience! One thing I really enjoyed was the misted fans! We went early to beat the heat but those fans definitely helped. There wasn't a wait for us, we were seated immediately and our waitress Holly was so friendly and sweet. The food was fantastic. It tasted freshly made and felt light. I was completely content with this visit and the food. The view is gorgeous and my husband & I once again locked down our love with a new lock. We celebrated our 18 year anniversary!! This was a wonderful way to commemorate our day while on this special trip.

Mihir Yerande

Fantastic view over the water which made a great ending to our weekend Austin trip. You can sit outside and look at everything around the bay with a beer in hand. The food was great too, and the place was dog-friendly as well.

Adrienne Evans-Quickley

The menu is limited. For those with allergies, be aware. Tables are dirty, found bug in water. If you are looking for intimate, keep looking. Choose your timing to avoid crowd and better attention to food.

Lo George

Amazing food and amazing view of the lake. When it’s not too hot, the outdoor patio is a must. When it’s hot, still outside but with an amazing drink. Go early cause it can get packed pretty quick. I always go and order the fish tacos. They’re a bomb!

Daniela Eddinger

Catered party was handled well. Food was great. Staff could have been friendlier. Overall a great party.

Lorena Sloss

I love the Oasis, however, they have bad customer service. I emailed them to request information about making a reservation for a party of 25 and a Melody English responded that they cannot make a reservation for me. I then asked if I could reserve a party room or section for my party. It’s been over 3 weeks and I have not received a response or answer. My family is flying in from Mexico on 10/26 just to experience the Oasis experience, unfortunately, their staff lacks customer service skills. They advertise on their website to email them for party reservations yet do not respond. Very disappointed!

Mickey Swart

Wow--so much to do here! Restaurants, shops, sitting on multiple decks on multiple levels, all with spectacular views of Lake Travis; have a drink with friends, enjoy a bite to eat, do some shopping, take pictures with lots of scenic backgrounds--fun for all ages. It's definitely an amazing destination high on a hill for those great views!

Joe Teumer

I just waited 2.5 hours for a table that never came. I got my table wait confirmation text at 6:45 pm and then was informed by the host that my number was somehow lost and they can seat me immediately before they closed. I just went to Taco Bell. AVOID THE OASIS AT ALL COSTS

Dylan J

As a business owner, I'm sure you could care less. But as a local that's been coming here forever... I've officially given up on your restaurant. 90% of the time I come here I have a horrible experience, simply because of your staff... I'd seriously consider implementing better training classes, even your managers are unprofessional with their snarky comments. I can't even imagine the kitchen.. It's no surprise the food here isn't 5 stars, but when your staff isn't on point, and all you have is a view.. Your ratings will continue to drop. Unless I absolutely need to come here... I won't be coming back anymore.

Dave Lutz

Amazing view and sunset! 2 stars for the food, 5 stars for the view and ambiance. We can't figure out how they make the fajita chicken nachos taste so bland.

Dane Gerdes

We really enjoyed our visit. The drinks were on point and the food was great. This place is much more of a destination place than anything else. Lots of side stores and drinking holes. Our wait was 2 1/2 hours. For a place that brags about the number of people it can serve they needed to step it up. When they took us back to seat us, Most of the balcony was empty, but it had not been cleaned. We then had half the food brought out, and the rest of us waited, and waited.... and waited. About the time we flagged down the server and asked if they had just forgotten about us, the rest of the food finally arrived. Overall food was good and we had a good time. So only 4 stars, not 5

Aliciana

It’s the most beautiful experience, although, if you don’t like to wait I don’t suggest going on a weekend!! We went on A Friday around 7pm and was a 2hr wait but we were able to walk around, explore & get drinks. So it was worth the wait to me!!

Michael Weida

You can’t beat the views here! Come in the late afternoon to get a spot, especially with a large group. Beer is the name of the game at the Oasis and the food selections are phenomenal. We had a great time and stayed until just after sunset; I will definitely endeavor to return with my wife and/or friends in the future.

Travis Block

My Wife and I came on Tuesday October 8th and had another great experience. We actually got engaged here in May of 2017. We chose to go to Spicewood for our Honeymoon, and drove down to The Oasis to commemorate. Caleb was our server and was amazing. He took great care of us the entire time. Jody stopped by to do a table touch on our table to ask how everything was. We told him our little story and that we were back now on our Honeymoon. After chatting for a few minutes he brought out a dessert for us to share. Thank you to both Caleb and Jody for the amazing memorable experience and for taking great care of us!

Stephen J. Lautenschlager

The Oasis on Lake Travis restaurant and boutique space overlooks Lake Travis and has spectacular views from high atop the Hill Country bluffs. Sunset views from the many patio deck levels; with many panoramic view-spots, are spectacular anytime of the year. The various dinning and drinking venues are bar/lounge focused and the anchor restaurant’s; The Oasis, menu is American bar-and-grill items. Note though that there are very limited gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, and/or other healthy choices. For my tastes and preferences, I would rate the Oasis a 5, but for the shortage of healthy menu options.

Amazing food, with a fabulous view!! The patio has the perfect view of Lake Travis, but the umbrellas and fans keep it cool. The Sriracha Chicken bites were crispy with a little spice. The Pecan Chicken Salsd hit the spot with the perfect sweet/savory mix!! The appetizers are big enough to split, a lot bigger than you think!!

Mike Alexander

Service wasn't all that great and not a lot of variety on the menu. Seems most people go there for the drinks and the nice view. The food wasn't very good....at least the fajitas anyway.

Justine E

Pros: Beautiful setting and great views. Plenty of tables available and multiple floors of restaurant. Have vegetarian and vegan options available. Cons: No one came around to fill waters. Had to ask to refill our waters many times and it was always a struggle to find someone to fill them. We would ask people cleaning up tables to find our waitress, but that didn't seem to help considering we ended up having to go find her ourselves for the check. I requested my meal without cheese and they brought it out with cheese and didn't provide an apology for this. Food came out by the time everyone else finished. Food was very average nothing special. It's really solely about the view, not the food.

Mahesh Kumar

The view is really great! There is a huge line with no online reservations so wait time for us was unfortunately 2 hours. We got to the table after 2 hour wait & then no server came for the next 20 minutes. The food that we ordered took more than an hour to come. The service wasn't all that great either a request for a spoon & knife came after 20 minutes. If you go there for the views I would recommend the brewery which is just adjacent to this restaurant. The staff are not so welcoming either & the food was average for the price we paid for. For some reason the table was all wet & sloggy. The view at sunset was great!

Samantha Hurst

Lovely restaurant on the lake. Went for my birthday dinner with friend and had a great time. The views are great, id say fall would be a better time to go so you arent sweating in the Texas heat (If you want patio seating) otherwise, it's a romantic place on the river.

Preston Hooper

Here’s a rundown, when we arrived at 4pm we had an hour wait, which was fine and expected, sadly they didn’t let anyone on the top floor, went over to the brewery and had a fantastic time drinking beer and enjoying the view. Our table was ready when they said it would be. Took us a minimum of an hour to receive drinks, food, eat, pay. Any extra time Enjoying the sunset or view is extra time so plan for at least an hour here to eat. Honestly? Get some drinks at the bar/brewery, the view was great. The food? No. Unless your drunk. Reminded me of catered food, cafeteria like dining. Wasn’t impressed. Staff was friendly! That’s a plus. If you want my honest opinion, skip the food, go for the brewery for the best views. I’d come here again for the brewery and not the oasis restaurant. If the food was on par with the rest of the experience this would be an easy 5 star experience.

Shaik Zayeem

The views are insane. You wanna make sure to come at least 45 minutes before sunset so that you can be seated and have your food at your table just in time for sunset. The food is decent but overpriced. The view is worth it though. If coming during a holiday make sure to be there at least 1.5 hours before sunset so as to get parking. This place gets jam packed on public holidays.

Sunday 9/29/19 We decided to make a 3hr drive to The Oasis for a friends birthday dinner. This is not our first time and we always enjoy all the food and services at The Oasis. Today was completely unacceptable. Our server Ashley was at sight annoyed, and rude. We were seated and waited 20 minutes until Ashley finally came to our table. She was very rude and didn’t even great us or presented her self. We waited another 20 minutes to finally get our drinks and she had forgotten half of them, we waited another 10 minutes for those. We received our food and everything was cold. Because we had already waited soo long we didn’t say anything. Now, when it was time for the check our waiter was no where to be found. We finally found her and ask for the check and after waiting over 45 min by then I decided to get up and asked the hostess if i could pay up front. Unfortunately, I couldn’t but at least they helped me find the waiter to finally give us the check, she was extremely rude and didn’t even apologize for all the inconveniences. We all love The Oasis, but servers like this don’t deserve to work here it definitely makes the whole Oasis less desirable specially for tourists. Now, after all she did she decided to include her own gratitude, we were a table of 5 and on the receipt it says for a table of 7 or more. This is unbelievable! Never have I felt so disrespected and taken advantage of. We were still going to tip her but why would she want to screw people this way!

From the food, atmosphere and the main reason, the VIEW! There were plenty of great places to take some awesome photos! I really enjoyed their steak fajitas and one of their signature drinks. And also their staff was very friendly and helpful! Great service.

Jackie Portillo

It was my first time going and my husband and I enjoyed it. The view was amazing and service was great. I recommend to anyone

Josie M

My favorite spot. This place never disappoints. The best time to visit is right before sunset. So beautiful.

adesomer

This is a really cool, eclectic restaurant and grounds. It is beautiful!! I had the ahi tuna salad and it was delightful! Definitely worth the trip. Bring your camera just for pics, but it would also be a great place for family or engagement photos.

Steve Waller

Shrimp was amazing. The band was great. Service was great and the sunset... A truly stunning evening.

Deborah Brooks Lambertson

Hit-or-miss for us! The food is always adequate, nothing special. (They used to have a killer BLT on their menu but it has been gone for a couple of years now.) It is the scenery that makes this place; having a relaxing dinner while watching the sunset is always a nice experience. The staff is always friendly. But perhaps not worth the $ if you're not guaranteed a sunset view.

Jennifer Richter

2.5 rating: Our experience was decent but overrated. The wait was over 2 hours. The Fajitas for 1 we ordered came out with zero peppers. We had a cast iron full of onions and maybe 8 slices of chicken with a side of approximately one handful of rice and a max of 3 tbs of black beans....which was also full of what? Onions. All of this for $18. The view is nice, but not worth it. If anything- go to the Oasis Brewery and grab some food there.

Too Sassy

Enjoyed it immensely, best sunset view, drinks on 10!!! For such a gorgeous place, just wish the menu was a bit more. A few more real dinner meals would be great!

stephnat w

Amazing place!!! Beautiful views and the sculptures and art are just breath taking! We met the owner. He is a very kind man. Going here and spending time on lake Travis made our vacation unforgettable!

Jonathan Durichek

World class customer service! From the manager William that graciously not only took a reservation to accommodate my service dog Diesel and I but put use in a an amazing spot. The view was breathtaking during the sunset. Our waitress was not only knowledgeable of the menu but kind and friendly to every need our meal. I could not have had a better meal or experience here. We will definitely return when in the area. Thank you William and staff for a magical night

Jonathan Tilford

Great atmosphere. The view is stunning and a must if in the area. The food is solid and the drinks are strong. We went on a Monday so most of the shops were closed which was a bummer but we were there for the food, drinks and fun and that is exactly what we had!

Sunny Bhagia

You have to go here for the sunset! There is a nice store beside the restaurant which has everything you would ever want to know about Austin. They've done a commendable job of creating a natural ambience and the servicing is amazing considering the number of people they serve at any given time. There is usually a 1-2 hr waiting on weekends so plan accordingly because reservations are not allowed. You get to keep the iconic Oasis Sunset glass as a souvenir if you order one of their special drinks.

John Owens

Great view! Pretty good food. Worth coming to check out the ambiance at a minimum.

Monica Jenkins

Wow, the view here is breath taking and if you catch the sunset you will be blow away by the beauty from being up so high on the lake. There are many shops and restaurant choices here too so you will definitely find something to enjoy there!-)

Glenna Turney

We went to Beau's Backyard a few weeks back and service was HORRIBLE! **BUT This past Friday Night, we went back to see the band with a large group. Three waiter were standing together and I let them know we were with the band and had a group of 12. I was trying to be mindful of their tables and wanted to check before just sitting down. One waiter, first thing out of his mouth was "Are you just planning on hanging out all night?" Gee, didn't I just say I was with the band? Brandon, another waiter, stepped right up and said, "I'll take care of your group." Brandon was true to his word! Not only did he take care of all of us and make us feel comfortable but he really worked well with the three littles that were there with us. We were there all night until band was finished and Brandon continued to offer excellent service. Brandon is the waiter that you should request. They should use Brandon's talent to train the other waiters as well. Thanks Brandon! We all appreciated you!

Sandra Archibald

Love the atmosphere- the waitress was excellent. Those are what the high rating is about. The food was "meh" unfortunately. Food would have received a 2-3 star rating on it's own.

쎄라 lovelysarahoh

Scenic restaurant built along cliffs of Lake Travis. You can enjoy amazing views of Lake Travis from this location. I recommend going during weekdays if possible to avoid the crowd. I was told by numerous people that food isn't that great here, but my husband and I enjoyed our food and their delicious cocktails! One of the must places to visit in Austin. I'm probably gonna have to take all my family and friends when they visit.

Derrick Osobase

Soak in the view because the food is horrible. Went with my family tonight and order burgers for the kids. The food came out and the buns were hard as a rock. Literally you can snap the bun in half and it made a cracking sounds. This is the bun! I recommend coming for the view and drinks. Drink alot before you order the food, so you can stomach the order. Your welcome!!

Alma Lane

My granddaughter had her wedding at this place. Absolutely, everything was at it's best! My granddaughter had a private room to get her wedding dress, etc. on. Also, space for the women in the wedding party to tidy themselves. The wedding location at the Oasis was "beautiful"! We got gorgeous picture views. The food was great. We had an area for a a DJ and to dance. My daughter hired a the DJ & a guy to attend to a bar for the guests.

Crystal Peel

In Austin on vacation and what a perfect place for a romantic night out! We got there right before sunset and sat outside. The view was incredible and the food was excellent. All around fantastic experience!

Austin Ozenne

Amazing food with an even better view. Everyone here was super nice and friendly and the sunsets are amazing.I think this is probably the best view of the lake from anywhere. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting, or even if you’re just out on a date night

Garrett Morris

Drinks and staff are awesome! Food is a solid 5. All in all it's a great spot, and if you're on the fence because you've heard different opinions, just go. It's worth it, especially with with the view.

Jonathan Garland

Salsa was ok. Guacamole was good. Queso was excellent, must get. Hamburger and fries were good. House salad was fresh and tasty. Fajitas were pretty good. Atmosphere and decor was festive and server gave great customer service.

Luke Valdillez

Food is excellent and the view wow! Bring your check book since its slightly pricey and dress light if you visit during the warm parts of the year. Definitely a place to go at least once in your lifetime.

Amol Sathe

First place I visited in Austin and the place did not fail me on expectations. Lovely vibe and awesome ambience around this place which makes this place a weekend destination. Food and drinks are decent.

Juan Lopez

This place was amazing! I was scared at first since I saw a long line to get in but once I reserved a seat they told me it'll only be 20-30 minutes which I was cool with. But here is the kicker! My wife and I actually walked around for maybe 5 minutes and I suddenly got a text saying our table was ready which was great! For an outside view of the Lake too! I've seen other reviews stating that the food is expensive but it really isn't. $13 for a Burger with Fries seems normal to me. Everything was fairly priced. When it comes to the view it is gorgeous! While I was there it was hot so prepare to sweat, but that's the price you pay for having a nice view of the lake; which ain't bad of a price if you think about it. Overall amazing experience! Would recommend and come back again.

Trish Schaefer

You’re just paying for the view. Menu is lacking in creativity and flavor for the caliber of restaurant you’d expect to go with it. Too many inappropriate garnishes such as pico and shredded lettuce on an nice salmon dish. My mom’s tuna salad was great, though. Drinks are hit or miss. Margarita mixes are too sour and burn with acidity. Mojitos aren’t muddled as expected. My first one was so sweet that I sent it back and the second one just tasted like lime water despite the many mint leaves in the glass. It seems like their menu and drinks are meant to be cheap and quick to accommodate the volume of guests they see. Our server was very nice and had good timing. Hostesses were pleasant and struck up conversation. They pull the umbrellas out when the sunset starts so you can watch it, which was much appreciated.

Merari Bonilla

The only reason I’m giving this place 3 stars is because the service is so slow when busy specially on weekends (last time we waited about 2 hours to get in and 1 more hour for our food) and the food is not that great either. But if you have ALL the time of the world and you’re only going for drinks and the view then this place is for you !

Brittney Frick

This place is amazing! And so much fun after you get off the lake! We went here for a bachelorette party and had a blast! We did karaoke and would highly recommend!

Ann K

If you traveling to Austin skip the 6th street bars and instead go to the Oasis. This is the spot to watch the most beautiful sunsets over lake Travis! There is a wait: if it’s nice out and it’s Thursday-Sunday you might be waiting for at least 30min-1hr- but the place is tremendous (probably the biggest restaurant venue I’ve seen so far) and they have other bar areas and other places to entertain you while you are waiting for a table. The food is good, the drinks are honest, ➡️But really, the main attraction is the view

Lindsey B

We came here for my Dad's birthday on a Tuesday. The location, ambiance, and food was good, but the service was terrible, the wait for everything was long, and my Dad had dozens of international fraudulent charges on his card after buying drinks from the bar. Just seems like a shady operation with employees who hate their jobs.

Hamid Khanjani

Nice lake view, good for date nights, expect to wait a couple hours to be seated, mediocre food and drink, good service. If you want to be seated before sunset: - Mon-Wed: be there anytime, you should be seated right away. - Thu-Fri: be there about 1 to 1.5 hours ahead of time. - Sat-Sun: be there 2 hours ahead of time. You can always skip the line and go sit on any of the non-reserved tables and grab a drink from the bars inside. This is what I recommwnd to anyone planning on going to Oasis.

Enrique Rios

Very worth it! Beautiful views all around. Nice peaceful drive to the restaurant. My food was excellent. I had the grilled Atlantic salmon. It was served on a bed of sautéed spinach and had these fried sweet potato patties. It was dusted with a warm slightly spicy Chile powder. On the side sliced avocado was there as a creamy cooling addition. Our server was very Calm and understanding especially since we had such a large group (about 12)with about 6 kids.

Gloria Rueda

The only worthy thing from this place is the view/location. Horrible service, it took 15 minutes after the hosts sat us for a waitress to come to our table then to get 2 waters , 2 coffees and a soda 40 minutes! God knows how long it will take for our food! We stand overpaid for the drinks (2 coffees and a soda: $17 bucks!!) and left. Had to add it was not that many people in the place at the time we went (around 11:15 am). Do not recommend this place, you can get the view for free and without waiting and overpaying in the local next to this place.

Laura Radewald

This is a must see spot in the Austin area. They have significantly upgraded their menu and service in recent years and I highly recommend it, not only for the food, but the photo opportunities presented by the panoramic view of the main basin, as well as all the surrounding shops and entertainment. They have vegetarian fajitas, and a veggie burger too - both are delicious.

bianca delgado

The view is definitely amazing but it took almost 1.5 hrs to get a table & we were asked to move from empty tables multiple times even though they were not going to seat anyone due to their shortness of staff. We got in line at the bar to order a drink while we waited and it took almost 40 minutes when there were only 4 people in front of us. The bar tender was serving the line and all drinks ordered on that floor. He was asked multiple times by other staff (including managers) if he was good or needed help and he said he was fine. Every. Single. Time. The food was just ok and definitely not worth the long wait.

Gwen Pine

Much more than Tex-Mex. No separate checks. Lots of interesting things to look at. Very good view of the lake.

William Pollard

Nice view and the food is good. Very popular place so dont expect to not have to wait for a table. Gratuity is added to the check automatically, we had a party of 13 and were charged about 50 dollars. That's a lot considering the service wasn't that great. The waiter was courteous but too busy. Still a nice place to visit.

Tray Gober

This is a beautiful spot to take out of town family and guests. It is a small taste of the variety offered by Austin and an amazing spot for a sunset margarita on the deck overlooking the lake. Plan ahead as sometimes there can be a bit of a wait.

Diana Perez

The view was amazing, line was a bit long but wait time to be seated was less than 10 minutes, customer service was on point . However, food was not what I was expecting. Seasoning was too strong , food was semi warm and beef fajitas are really not beef fajitas. The food is more like a Tex-Mex kind of restaurant.

Tawney Wade

The food is extremely over priced for what it is...but you pay for that beautiful Sunset. If you want great food go somewhere else. You want good service and beautiful atmosphere with ambience this is for you!!!

babyeffinkay

We visited Friday night around 7:00pm, we had valet parking and the attendant was wonderful! We walked up and realized there was a line to the door, no worries! That wasn’t going to throw us off just yet. We waited to get to the front for about an hour, then as we arrived she naturally asked where we would prefer to sit. Then told us it would be an hour wait before we even got to sit down! At this point it’s 8:15 and we haven’t had a drink or even a snack! We give her our name and we walk around for a bit. We walked to one of the ledges where you can overlook lake Travis and also see the back of the oasis restaurant. The view was absolutely incredible! But to my surprise 3 floors out of their restaurant wasn’t even open for seating.. I took another look And only one level was being used for serving their guests.. on a Friday night??? VERY DISAPPOINTING! That’s when we decided to go to the domain, and eat at glorias latin cuisine! Arrived in 15 minutes and had food in 5! We will not be back to the oasis for food, but we will be back to check out the view.

Patrick Howell

Great food! Great drinks!! Awesome views!! However, if you're looking for cost friendly this is not the place. With great food and drink comes high prices and long waits. But.. still a great spot none the less

Mary Lou Munoz

Wish they closed at 11 on weekends. We intentionally arrived late to watch the full moon over the lake. The line was soooooo long, to get a table. It moved quick but should have been quicker bc not everyone was dining. The atmosphere was very nice.

Desert Dune Offroad

Excellent location convenient to Austin. I came in the evening after meetings downtown. Convenient parking in a covered parking garage and super easy access to the shops and restaurant. The seats aren’t the best, they lean too far back and are too narrow. The wait was long. That said, I had excellent service and thoroughly enjoyed my appetizer and meal. The chicken Diablo was incredible! The Comanche burger was perfect in every way. Of course, the reason so many people go, is the sunset, which is absolutely incredible. You can’t go wrong with a visit to the Oasis, just make sure you plan accordingly and allow some time.

Erika Spadafora

Was here for my cousins wedding in the private room. It was so pretty and well organized. The event staff was wonderful. Am going to need to ho back and actually experience all of the shops.

Adelina Vongpanya

This is a hidden gem by Lake Travis. The restaurant had a wait on friday night. But it was worth to see the twilight. The menu is limited. Tex-Mex. You get a cool plastic cup to take home. The view is fabulous.

Kyle Wolff

If you are in Austin, The Oasis on Lake Travis is a must-see. Seating is ample, most with superb views of the lake, food is good, and you will be met with some of the friendliest Texas hospitality. The drive to The Oasis was worth it on its own, nestled in some of the most beautiful Texas hill country. I can’t wait to come back during my next visit to these parts.
