Nothing fancy. But the food is amazing. Super convenient 24hr drive thru on the way home after a long day at work. One time I was a dollar short so I pulled out my card instead. They guy said don’t worry about it man. I got your dollar. We thank you for choosing Taco Palenque. Excellent hospitality

To be fair I would give 3 1/2 stars but definitely not 4 at this point. First visit was fine, the menu for breakfast seems less diverse as compared to other Mexican restaurants. But it was on the second visit that my order was mistakenly incorrect. They fixed the issue and gave me free tacos the next day. I'm a bit confused as to how my order could have possibly been wrong in the first place considering their menu only has a small handful of breakfast taco fillings to choose from. They don't offer country and egg here last I checked which is a very popular bfast taco filling. In any case the last time I ordered from them I had no issues. I had bought some bfast tacos for me and my wife who said she didn't really like the tortillas. I personally like the tortillas but do with info what you will. They get a solid 3 stars from me. Almost a 4. Not a bad place.

Depending what you order the food is either amazingly good or a flop. I love the Tostadas. They are amazing. The main hang up I have with this place is everytime you dine in, there are always guaranteed to be nats and flies around you. I mean, you cant take your eyes off your food for one second without one landing on it. I now get my food to go

They don't honor specials that all other Taco Palenque stores do. But they also don't answer their phone so you can ask them. :( The filling in tacos and burritos seems skimpier but the service is good and food is delicious of course.

Amazing! Found this place while traveling near South Padre and just had to have it again on the way back. Everything is real, fresh, and super delicious. We especially loved the huge bar of fresh salsa and toppings that provided the perfect compliment to the food. Wish they would expand throughout the midwest. It is well worth going out of your way to find one if passing through.

At first pass I thought ahh. Its fast food. I walked up and thought nice outside patio. I ordered my meal with the very patient lady at the counter. I found free chips and salsa and got my beverage then found my order waiting on my table. I ordered 4 mini tacos with sirloin, dressed it with onions, cilantro, salsa and lime. The taste was amazing - absolutely amazing. It was my first time and I will be back- dont change a thing Taco Palenque!!!

It's a fast food joint with the levels of cleanliness and service that implies. But the menu is far from typical, and I couldn't pass it up being in the neighborhood. Perhaps I was too terse. The atypical menu is great. I had an enchilada platter (which one, I forget), and 2 piratas which are some of the best tacos in town. All satisfying. If I lived a little closer, I would need no other taco joint, harsh lights not withstanding. Loved em in Laredo, glad they're here.

I love all of the menu items I have tried. Their tacos, burritos, and quesadillas are all excellent. The chip and salsa bar inside the restaurant is awesome. They have so many varieties of salsa to satisfy everyone.

They don't sell authentic street tacos here. I asked the guy at the register if this is a Tex Mex restaurant or an authentic taco place, and he guaranteed that they serve real tacos. The meat was dry, the rice tastes terrible and lacked flavor, even the orchata was disappointing. If you are looking for an authentic taco, save yourself a trip and don't come here.

The food here is delicious, however the drive thru can never get your order right. We have been cheated out of so much food because it has happened to us numerous times. The staff is apologetic and quick to correct the mistake but it still continues to happen. I can't stop going here because again the food tastes so good. I would suggest double checking your order before you drive off. Please Taco Palenque fix this problem so your loyal customers remain customers.

Food is good IF you can figure out what to order. There are 4 possible selections for a cheese enchilada plate with beans and rice. Finally got it right after 2 tries. Service and food was better when they first opened.

This place is open 24 hrs/day. We happened to go a little past midnight and it was packed! I opted for the steak mini tacos, fideo soup and steak burrito. The tacos were the best, the soup and burrito were just okay. The salsa bar was awesome. Quick turn around on tables being cleared and food coming out. But place was still pretty dirty.

Being away from home, Taco Palenque has been my go to place either for breakfast, and or dinner, for the last 3 or 4 weeks. The service has been great all the time, and have not had a bad experience. Tacos, salsas, chips....it's all good !!!!

I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. I came in to pick up a quick lunch (enchiladas verdes, one of my faves) to take back to work. Enchiladas had a ton of chicken in them. Tomatillo sauce was very flavorful. I'll be back for sure.

My wife and I enjoyed the tacitos we ate and I enjoyed the 3 Chorizo w/Eggs we ate. The young boy cleaning tables offered a bag for our tacos which we decided to take more since they were too filling to eat all of what we ordered at the Resturant. Food was amazing!! I ordered the street tacos and I was very satisfied. However, as we were leaving one of the employees came out and insisted that we help her clean, jokingly at first, but as she kept mentioning it she became more rude and serious. She was rude and disrespectful and sadly, very unprofessional. She started grunting and giving us dirty looks as if it was our fault she had to do her job. I don’t know if I will be coming back to this location. Very disappointed.

Worst customer service I have had at this location. I've been going to this location for years but I guess they got new people. And an employee called Pete or something like that is the worst. I ask for a regular bowl of rice and he is very addimate that a to go container is what I'm going to get and I told him I didn't want that and he said ok. I get my order dine in and he brings me a to go container of rice when I clearly told him different. I told him I didn't want that and he goes and gets me an empty regular bowl and places it on my table with no rice. Worst Service.

They failed to include a breakfast taco in my drive-thru to-go order for 3 brkfst tacos that was paid for (not a big order, not even busy at all, just one other car in the drive thru - how can they miss that?) about 2:30 am. They also did not bother asking if i wanted hot sauce, so I had to ask them for it. I also had difficulty communicating with the order-taker through the drive-thru speaker. Another guy who spoke understandable English finally had to take over just so I can communicate. DO NOT LEAVE THE DRIVE-THRU WINDOW BEFORE CHECKING YOUR ORDER!!! I did call them immediately about the order, and the manager was nice and apologized about it and promised to give me the taco next time I come there. But they're kind of far away from me and I normally don't go there to eat. And im hungry TONIGHT with not enough to eat, and i paid for it. That kinda ruined my evening.

I actually love Palenque. The flavor is all the way on point! But sometimes its a miscommunication with the order taker. The orders do get messed up sometimes. But my experience is they'll fix it fast! I ordered a combination enchiladas plate (My Fav) with a medium Apple soda cost $13. Way to much for what feels and looks like a kids meal. Its a snack not a meal. They give you very, very, very small portions! That's why I only go there once in a blue moon. This time my apple soda was nasty!!! Guest the soda machine hasn't been checked and no one is saying anything!! I guess Im a little disappointed. But its cool. I hope they read these post and adjust accordingly

This was my first time and last time I'm visiting this place.. Food is horrible and prices are high... Front end person didn't understand our order and we had to wait until a English speaking person showed up... All in all horrible service and terrible prices. I will not recommend this place to my worst enemy.. Ughhh....

This place is delicious I got the fajita platter service is great here I get beef fajita only not beef and chicken, it comes with either refried beans borracho beans of your choice and Mexican rice and they have a bar that has cucumbers it has cabbage it has jalapenos in about five or six different salsas! They also serve beer and margaritas number one in town for fajitas it's hot and fresh and they cook in front of you delicious!

Taco Palenque serves delicious tacos and quesadillas as well as a variety of other Mexican foods. They have a salsa bar that features various different types of salsas as well as warm tortilla chips. The food is always hot, tasty and flavorful. The management is friendly and makes sure his customers are happy when they leave the restaurant.

Great tacos but tortillas lack substance, very thin and chewing when it starts to cool. At least they include two tortillas per taco which kinda gives you two tacos. So whatever falls makes your second taco, BOOM, your full.

Love that its fast paced and has an open bar of chips and different salsas but the customer service can use improvement. I ordered beef fajita tacos and those were great. The al pastor taco was not good. It just tasted like pork meat saturated in chorizo flavored grease, and it was very greasy too.

I asked for the fajitas plate ,one pastor Taco ( didn't care for it really) and a drink...$20 which to me was a lot considering it's fast Mexican food...Salsas were amazing and on point....really good service....be sure to ask for corn tortillas if that's your preference otherwise they will give you flour tortillas.

I traveled to McAllen TX alot. One of my Family's favorite places to go is, Taco Palenque. The first thing we do is go to The Bassillica De San Juan, to Thank God we made Safely. And then, after Praying. Straight to Taco Palenque, For Menudo, Fajita Tacos, and everything your Mexican Heart can desire. But now, we have a Taco Palenque in San Antonio. But more, not 1, not 2, but 3 Locations. I can't say it enough, Thank You for putting these 3 Restaurants closer to Dallas. Half the distance to McAllen. I hope one Day we can have a Family Restaurant , Taco Palenque in Dallas. Best Food in Texas.
