Very good ambience and yummy food for a reasonable price! Value for money, they have many different dishes and lots of choices for vegetarians and non vegetarians. I personally liked the mutton curry that was spicy and quite flavorful. Would highly recommend this place for casual dining or for any party events.

I have tried a few Indian restaurants in Houston. But this is the best South Indian restaurant, I have tried. Briyani was very authentic, tasted like home made (mom made). Chicken was tender & delicious. I had plenty of food in buffet for a low price. Will certainly visit again on the next opportunity!

One of the best authentic south Indian (Chettinad food) in Houston. There aren't many of them and if you are not Indian you will not even realize how different (read as) delicious it is compared to the standard naan, tandoori, Tikka that one gets in a regular Indian restaurant. The ambience is maintained akin to a chettinad restaurant which Tamil music. It maintains the identity and adds to the experience. There are several food choices and it might be a challenge to choose if you are not aware of the menu. Try something new and you won't be disappointed!

I’ve never had Chettinad cuisine but liked my experiences here. I’ve been 3 times ; twice with friends and once with co workers. Twice for weekday lunch and once on the weekend. I’ve gotten the thali each time and was glad by all the food. The price and quantity always match up. Coworkers shared some dishes with me and their goat was super delicious! Another great Indian option in this part of town. Service is hit or miss.

We had the Masala Dosa, Butter Chicken Masala and Gobi Manchurian. All of the dishes were delicious and came out as they were ready. Our server, Ravi, was very accommodating with our order and made sure that the dishes matched the "spiciness" we could handle and continued to check to make sure every dish was made to order and to our likeness.

She knows Tamil Nadu taste and never likes any of the houston south indian restaurant, however she liked Sangam very much. If you are looking for good Indian food with proper indian spices then this is the place. I was shocked by how close the South Indian food was to the food you would find in Bangalore.

The restaurant has a nice ambiance, so we decided to have a party there. This is a nice place for dining but if you have a party then do not even think about it as they are not yet groomed for it. Service was pathetic, things were not served well enough, and too much time to get them. The owner was not coming in front because of wrong promise, and we had a bad time. Will never step in and also discourage my friends to go there. Sorry guys you did not live upto the mark.

Authentic Recipe..... a South Indian delicacy restaurant that tries to cook as per the authentic recipe to their best possible effort unlike many/most other restaurants that even does not know/care what a recipe is!!! 2. Buffet spread or Menu planning.... Indian food is rich with spice generally. While the recipe is NOT OVER SPICY keeping in mind the diverse Houstonians, yet the chef makes sure to include 'Yoghurt Drink" as an aperitif that helps to digest the food while you have satisfactorily met your gastronomic need for this cuisine. Starting with various appetizers, the spread is elaborate with fried veg fritters, Pomfret Fish, succulent juicy Chicken Kebabs cooked in tandoor, ... you name it ! The main course includes Crab/Goat meat/ Chicken Chettinad / Fish curry/ 3-4 different vegetarian items plus Rasam/Samvar/Black or Yellow dal/ masala & dosa/ idli/ vada/ utthapam/ 4 different biryani including chicken/goat/fish/veg ... the list seems to be touching all corners of your tastebuds and ofcourse not forgetting our very special favorite- Steamed Rice/hot Naan. My second visit to Sangam restaurant. We came for dinner and had a great plate of goat. They serve buffets every day. But the weekend buffet offers more variety. I tried the buffet my second visit and totally worth it. The choices in the buffet was unique - not the same old tandoori chicken, palak paneer or chickpeas. Lots more options and selections. Restaurant has a great atmosphere, clean with friendly staff. Five Stars!!!

These stars mainly go to the amazing service and the owners father for constantly checking on us. Another plus go to the cleanliness and good vibe of the place. Unfortunately, while the service was really good the food however did not meet up to the expectations. The food was very fatty with huge amounts of concentrated oil, and the variety of rices were dry and had lost its moisture. The chicken for the Hyderabadi biriyani was cooked perfectly. The veg noodles tasted like they were store bought. The desert however, golab jamun and mango kaseri, were spot on and I hope they weren’t store bought. Overall the experience was average, and thank you all for the outstanding service front house!

We visited this place yesterday and were very pleased with the variety. Fried fish was unique and not found in the US. Owner’s Dad was going from a table to table and making sure everything was ok. For those wondering about the spice levels the Restaurant is on the spicier side ,which we love so works for us. They have several homestyle vegetarian dishes as well ,and their desserts choices are amazing, their customer service is great ,definitely would recommend the place!

We recently tried Sangam buffet as we found all places near our office to be mundane run of the mill. We decided to drive to Sangam though it was lil far and found to be worth the driving . Most of the vegetarian dishes I tried tasted great and they are truly a blend of North and South dishes just like their name. I highly recommend Sangam for authentic Dishes from India .

Affordable for the portion size. Buffet is the most enjoyable so you can try a little bit of everything. Service has improved since we first came here. Now we can’t stop coming back during our lunch.

The best ever delicious Indian food... my favorite. This is my second dine in at Sangam chettinad.... the best of the best Indian food. If want rate Indian restaurants in Houston, Sangam is top rated Indian restaurant by serving delicious vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. The special dishes like roasted fish, crab curry, rasam... I enjoy the taste and hope everyone too. The best thing is ambiance and politely welcomed everyone.. I greatly impressed with elderly uncle who asked us food taste and recommended us to try new dishes like crab curry... top notch customer service. My kid (Ricky) likes chicken 65 and gulab jamun sweet. We will go... again and again.. This Is Raghu.

Service is really bad. There is not much option for veggies. There was no clear mention of dishes type also. Buffet Price is really high compared to dishes options. Will not recommend.

We had the lunch buffet this afternoon. The food was very good. Not very expensive $24 for two. Kept the food tto typical south Indian cuisine, which was very enjoyable.

Drove by and got the urge to stop by and try this place. I am very happy I did. The atmosphere was nice and the place looked very clean. The tables where set in a nice way and they present Nan :) and a special then crispy butter crepe type of bread. The buffet is not large, but 50% of the items are very good and fresh! The two dips where great as well. There was so many exciting flavors to try on top of rice. One rice dish was very good. The key points about this place is that the atmosphere was good, staff where very friendly, most food was very fresh, and many dishes had exciting flavors to try. Not much meat was served here but many veggies, rice, and Curry similar dishes. The price was not very clear to know as you walked in from what I could tell but $11 for fresh new exciting flavors with fresh Nan bread was worth the experience.
