I had a an amazing experience at Nirvana Houston. Their buffet has many options and my favorite was the Chicken Tika Masala, Lamb Chops, Chicken 65 & Palak Paneer. If you're looking for a new buffet spot to throw in the mix you have to check out Nirvana Houston you won't be dissapointed

If you don't know Indian food, this place is perfect. Not only is everything delicious, it's also buffet style so you can try new things easily without sacrificing a whole meal. That being said, I found nothing that tasted bad.

Don't go to this restaurant. They will treat like you are having food for free. They just require money and worst service. Actually I went to this restaurant for buffet around 2.30 pm with my wife and 1 year kid and when the restaurant closes by 3.00. While entering they did not object for us to have food. Around 3.00 they said they are closing and we can take food to the table which is usual and make us pay for the food as they requested to close the account. But after sometime they switched off the light and pedestal fan to make us go out of restaurant around 3.15 itself. Worst behavior. Actually if they are not willing to take up they should say will entering around 2.30

I don’t know from where to start now. The moment we entered there were kittens at the place. Don’t they have shelter to keep those kittens safe somewhere!! The next bad thing was the waiter. Every customer has the right to ask about the portion size of food to order accordingly. The waiter was ill-mannered and had answered rudely. The restaurant should definitely conduct personality and discipline classes for all the waiters so that customers are treated properly. Nirvana being an Indian restaurant disappointed us. My friends were not treated well. We Indians have a reputation to treat guests as God but this restaurant has shamed India to heights. My friends had gone to this restaurant with great enthusiasm but they failed in every possible way. I hope the owner reads the reviews and makes changes to save the name and reputation of this restaurant.

3.5 to be honest. Nirvana can be a hit or miss depending on the day you go. If you want a good price, go for buffet Monday to Friday when it is busy. This is when their food is most fresh and tasty. All other times I have been the food has been underwhelming. Don't expect spicy food however where they are lacking and I know this matters more to south Asians then the general population.

Great Indian food. The night I visited it was a little slow but I did see there lunch buffet was a great option and seems worth checking out. The service was good. The food came out hot and fresh. I'll start with the bad first. It's hot inside the restaurant. I'm not sure if it's because there is a door on the side or just Houston heat is just that pervasive but the fan in the room we were eating wasn't helping immensely. The good is the food. They have very bold tastes and some dishes that you don't see very often with everything going together quite well.

The lunch buffet, while better than the average Indian buffet, is mediocre, but then that is to be expected of a buffet. At $16 per person it is a tad pricey. What really upset me was that I signed for $80 and they charged my card for $85!!! I have read other reviews complaining about this. If you really want to eat there keep your receipt if using a card and track the amount. Otherwise pay cash.

On the day I went, everything was incredible. The food was so good (seasoned, but not spicy) that it didn't bother me that it took them a while to clear plates and no one was available at the register for me to pay for my meal (I just put a $20 in the check holder and left). They had several dessert options instead of just one like a lot of buffets do, and the naan was some of the best I have ever had. The interior was clean and comfortable, and I will definitely be back.

My friend and I went there for lunch. They offer buffet lunch. Great variety of different dishes, lots of vegetables meals as well as chicken, some fish and lamb/goat. My favorite was chicken marsala, super tasty! Soft freshly baked Indian bread. We really enjoyed eating there. All the staff are really friendly. And the lunch was only $16!

Visited here for lunch buffet on Saturday. Pros: Excellent hospitality by staff and the owner, decent ambience Cons: Very LIMITED range for vegetarians for $15 bucks. Food was greasy and extremely oily. The curries are floating in oil. Food was very bland and tasteless.

Fantastic! The syrup soaked deserts were far too sweet for me but they were delicious! This the best rice I have ever had! The mango lassi is oh so good! Some things were too spicy for me but they were delicious. Everything is fresh! The decor is pretty and it's a fancy place. Go eat here I think you will love it!

The food isn't all there had to go few times for family invitations but I will not recommend anyone to go there. There's many places serve better food then them. When you ask your chicken to be spicy they just dump chilly sauce and make it spicy. Total disgrace to Desi food. Reply to the managements comment: I just checked most of your reviews no offense to anyone but I haven't seen any good review from the people from Indian subcontinent these are the people who knows about Indian food and you can't point finger on critics you should absorb it and try to look at it. I might be wrong. Talking about spicy oh come on I already had your chicken with Japanese chili sauce in it. Ask your chef if he knows how to make it spicy or not I am just not going back there.

Took my dad for a Father's day lunch and I must say that this place offers some of the best Indian food I've ever had in a buffet. The ambience is also very relaxing as well as inviting, we had a great time. This place is definitely a keeper, even with the small parking lot that seems to compete with the Cuban restaurant next door. I look forward to returning.

I visited this place with my colleagues for a lunch buffet and and it was excellent. They have a decent selection of vegetarian and non vegetarian options. Their entrés tasted super delicious with the right level of spices - not too spicy nor too bland. The Desserts were a little on the sweeter side, but they tasted good. I would highly recommend this place for all people who like to get a good authentic taste of the Indian food.

BEST Indian food I've ever eaten. I love coming here; I'll even go alone to get a serving, or two, of their palek paneer which is hands down the best I've ever tried. Love the puri bread, which is on the buffet on Sunday only it seemed but they will make it for you any day of the week. Food is consistent and fresh! I usually get the same thing each time I go but I love everything I get and the curried butternut squash was unreal. Yummy!! The inside is very classy, clean and the staff friendly. Now, I'm getting hungry again! Worth every penny to me!

Loved the buffet lunch. They had an amazing variety of meat, fish and vegetarian recipes. Even for dessert they had three different options and also fresh watermelons. Loved the dal and the vegetable pakoras. The fish and chicken were also great. Only reasons for giving a 4 stars are: 1. The food was a bit too hot, almost to the point of burning my tongue 2. Probably not for Houstinites, but since I live in Austin, and went to visit Houston, $15 for a weekday lunch buffet seemed a little too steep

I tried this place on a whim for lunch (was in the area). I was very presently surprised. Indian lunch buffets are sometimes bland and not the best quality but this place was well stocked with high quality food that wd flavorful. I tried a variety of things (chicken tikka masala, curry, paneer, etc) and everything was good. I'd come back for lunch again ($15) and would bring a group.

Went for lunch buffet, it was 15+ dollar plus tax. They have more items in veg and non beg compare to what other restaurant I have visited till now. The lamb curry, and Lady Finger AamChurn was very tasty. They can have few more items in sweet section. The dining area was very cleaned and staffs are very quick. The another good point you can get naan of your own choice.

Excellent food for a good price. Decent ambience, free valet parking (actually you don't have a choice but to use the valet service) and very good variety in the lunch buffet. Many dishes are spicy, it's a good idea to try small portions initially to see what your palate can tolerate.

Th buffet had variety but not all of it is tasty but the service was pathetic. We were told multiple times to rush to get the rest of the meal as the buffet closes at 3:00 pm and this was on Mother’s Day. I disagreed saying that if the restaurant closes at 3:00 pm , it means the no new patrons are allowed but you cannot rush people enjoying a meal together with friends and worse they started turning off the lights too. They just could not wait to turn us out .Restaurant business is hospitality business for a reason.

Good food but what’s with the air conditioning there? It was at 80 degrees when I looked at their temperature.I told our waiter that it’s too hot and he seemed to not care so after just 10 minutes in the place we had to leave. It was so unpleasant.

My husband and I have been to this location twice. The first visit was somewhat decent so we decided to give them another try. We are vegetarians and we love Indian food. We live in Kingwood and traveled almost an hour to enjoy dinner there or so we thought. We arrived mor than an hour before closing. Once we entered we were not greeted. A young man eventually asked us "How many?" And I stated two. Once he sat us we were poured some water and remained there for about 10 minutes w/o anyone checking on us. Then one of the owners passed us looked passed us to another table and insisted that one of the waiters get the gentleman some bread. He greeted the man observed the overall restaurant and then walked pass us again as we sat with no menus. So now we have been there for about 15min now without service. As the owner was walking pass us the waiter that he was speaking to informed him that the gentleman had requested no bread he then looked at our table and said that he would get us some bread. I then asked if we could actually get some menus because we had not ordered. He then stated, " Oh, tonight is buffet, no one told you!?!?" We were completely suprised and had no idea. So we then proceeded to where he directed us. Half of the buffet was vegetarian which was good. However, once we began eating the food was somewhat lukewarm. We ate what we could in the matter of 15 minutes. My husband began to take care of an important business matter over the phone and I sat patiently waiting for him. Then we began to be harrassed by the other owner about our bill. She originally did not greet us, nor did she inform us about the buffet, she dropped off the check while I was still eating, and then decided to rush us to pay. All the while other parties were still dining and talking. It was over all a horrible experience and not worth the money that I paid to dine or drive an hour to eat there. Will never return with such poor customer care and services.

While I'm neither Indian nor British, I've been told by friends in both categories that Nirvana is the most authentic in Houston. Regardless, it is my standard for Indian cuisine now! My favorite dishes are the chicken tika masala and tandoori chicken. Everything else is amazing as well, but those two are on my plate every trip. The daily buffet is all I have tried, but I am sure their dinner service is just as amazing. You will not leave Nirvana hungry or unsatisfied.

One of the nicest decorated Indian restaurant in town. It is very clean and well decorated. We came on a Monday night, they are not super busy. Some week days they offer buffet for $16.99 per person, decent price for more than 20 different dishes. Services is good, but the staff english is not very good, however very attentive. They brought the nuns once we brought our food to our table. Desert bar probably is the best, lasi is excellent, rich and thick just how I like it. The food was not extremely amazing, lamb chops was bit dry and chewy, not the kind of chewy I like. The spinach cheese was very good. Nuns was excellent maybe bit oily, but we still asked for additional basket of it. I looked at the regular menu looks like they have a lot to offer, maybe next time try a la cart.

My favorite Indian restaurant! Very kind staff and amazing food. If you're lucky enough to visit on a Monday or Tuesday night try the extensive buffet of 8 veggie/ 8 meat entrees with a salad bar and desert spread. BYOB as well with a clean, upscale space.

Totally Depends on what you are looking for, food isn’t gonna be spicy, don’t expect dozens of buffet entries. Ideal place for team lunches, tad bit pricey than competitors but is balanced with its cool decor, ambiance and quality. Great service, they do have BYOB with no corkage fee, patio is really cool for dinner with lights. Deserts are way too sweet.

JUST AVOID, TERRIBLE SERVICE. During a visit this summer, a lady guest found two stones in tandoori roti/chapati but kept quiet in order not to create a scene, spoil everyone's mood and embarrass the host. She mentioned at home. Also, food was nothing great in general. I took up the matter but owners were indifferent and didn't care to respond or apologize. I've been waiting and decided to post my comments now.

Worst service. We ordered appetizers and then got a call and we had to rush mean while the barer gives us a lecture on how we shouldn’t visit the restaurant if we are just gonna eat appetizers. Great. Never came across such a cheap behavior. Never going back again. Nor would suggest to anyone. I don’t know why ppl hire such barbaric ppl as staff. There is always a way to say stuff and clearly the restaurant staff have no clue on politeness or ethics. Wish could give them zero. Never felt so offended.
