I'm a plant-based eater (no butter, eggs, cheese, meat - I don't identify as vegan because I eat hone) - and this place had really delicious plant-based food! That's saying a lot because it's a rare find. Our server was great and courteous, the ginger tea was a little strong (you might like it though) and he gladly replaced it with something different. Raspberry iced tea is really good, you might ask them to half-and-half it with regular unsweet though (it is very sweet). The Gormah is spicy but that's the way I like it, highly recommend the appetizer sampler. My family had tilapia and the fish was well-cooked and the seasoning and topping was great too. We were visiting from San Marcos, or we'd be back again! I highly recommend it.

This place is a mixed bag. My first time there, not sure if I will return. Manager took our name to wait for a table, a couple showed up after us and they were seated immediately. Bothered us a bit, but no big deal. After we were finally seated, the waiter took our order, but did not attach a table number to it, so the food was thrown away. When we asked about our food, the waiter apologized for the wait, but offered no other explanation. After waiting for about 45 min, the manager finally came out and told us what happened. He was very apologetic, but never offered a discount or a deduction on our bill. What saved this review from a one star, was the food, it was delicious. If the service could be tweaked and worked on, it would be a five star rating in my book.

Okay, our total bill was $126. Guess what, we were being charged for $21 as “SERVICE CHARGE”. The server told us because our bill was over $100 so it automatically added the service charge which I had never experienced. He told us that goes to the kitchen and asked for more tips! Never going back to this place!

Ginger Cafe is BYOB, so bring whatever you'd like to drink. I met some friends for dinner as we all wanted to try something different. We brought a couple bottles of wine which worked well with what we ordered. Cozy and relatively busy. They had a musician playing the Friday we had dinner here. The wait staff was polite and helpful with any questions we had about the menu. The staff floats, so every table is attended to quickly. We started of with the beef hummus shwarma and it was fantastic! I definitely recommend trying that appetizer. I had the beef kabobs and they were great. The rice was amazing and if given the choice I would've just ordered an entire pot of that. We finished off dinner with tiramisu for dessert and it was very good. I would recommend eating at the Ginger Cafe if you are craving Mediterranean & South Asian food.

The best Mediterranean restaurant in town. The hummus and taboulie is so good as well as the falafel. They also have this homemade, fresh ginger ale which is a must to try. The lamb specials are always good and the masala sauce is sooo good on pretty much anything, especially the rice. You can ask for a small side dish of it.

This is the best place in town, hands down. The food is great and the lamb chops are the best I have ever had. They also make their own ginger soda that has bits of ginger in it, so good. The Turkish coffee is excellent. The staff are also friendly and nice and very helpful with suggestions. This is now my go to place! If there were more stars I would give more!!

Great food and atmosphere with reasonable prices. Greek/Mediterranean food is one of our faves and this is some of the best we've had. Sauces, seasoning, and spices were excellent. We shared the chicken hummus appetizer and the mixed kabob plate and it was more than enough for us. Huge props to the chef and staff, especially Omar, Eric, and Mario. It was a fun experience.

We came here because I had heard about how authentic the food was so we decided to try it. The lamb was cooked to perfection including some of the other foods we tried. The service was fantastic! We had a GREAT Server Omar! He was wonderful!!! He was well knowledgeable about the food and gave us great recommendations, he even posed for a picture for the review. I would absolutely come back! As we were leaving, they were setting up for live music which was a plus. We had other things to do, so we couldn’t stay, but my kids thought it was so cool to hear live music at the restaurant.

Usually service and food is great. This time we tried to call in a to- go order to eat our food at home. The person on the phone said it would be ready in 15 to 20 min. After arriving 20 min later I waited in line and then paid for my food. The manager at the register said it would be out shortly. Well after 35 more min I finally was getting upset and was about to ask what the status was . Well before I could another couple asked for there food to be wrapped up and take Togo. They said it took too long and we're gonna eat at home instead. I was pretty bummed out with the service and it was around 845 pm when I finally got home with the food.

Had an amazing birthday here today with my best friend! We both had gyros with grilled onions instead of raw and shared the chicken shawarma hummus and a piece of tiramisu. We loved literally everything we ate. I'm a creature of habit so I get the same thing every time if I like it, but I'd definitely try different things there next time. I really want to try the lentil soup.

I went with a colleague and was shocked at just how amazing this place was. Omar was our guy all night. He was never far and was very attentive. Spot on with his recommendations as well. The lamb shank and kabobs are among the best I've ever had. I don't know what they do with their tzatziki sauce but they need to keep doing it. For dessert, some fine Turkish coffee and PISTACHIO BAKLAVA!!! Congrats and my compliments to the chef on that jazz! I wish I had enough room to try everything on their menu.

My boyfriend and I went here Saturday night before a movie and had a great time! The service was good, Zak was our server and gave us excellent suggestions and offered to let my boyfriend try a lamb chop because he said he has never had good lamb. We’re from Austin and I’m vegan, so I was worried I wouldn’t find much in the way of vegan food and would be stuck on salads all weekend but Ginger Cafe had a great selection of vegan/vegetarian options. Honestly probably the best falafel I’ve ever had, I can’t wait to visit Corpus and eat here again!

We drool over this restaurant. Everything we have tried has been delicious. My favorite items to order are the Dolmas and the Lamb Kebabs. I find myself continually closing my eyes and humming aloud with happiness with each bite. The Turkish coffee is also great. Took my family here tonight for dinner. We were seated in an uncomfortable location right in front of the cash register. The staff never came back with our drink order. We waited almost a half hour without any staff taking our dinner order. My advice: if you have children do not eat here. They will ignore you. Very very rude.

So very good... saturday night date dinner with my better half. Fresh fresh n tasty dinner. I had lamb shanks, hubby had prime filet both excellent choices. First Visit to this place i ordered flafel wrap and beef shawrma wrap the falafel was kinds thick and that's not my favorite tho but i understand they use the tool that makes the falafel ,the shawrma was good the beef u can tell its grade A the Fries wasn't my favorite due to the oil i ordered baklava and i meant to take a picture of it after the first bite wanted everyone too see the amount of pistachios in it also u can taste the butter ghee wasn't that sweet which is good the atmosphere of the place is quiet which will make it good for adate or a meeting the servers are nice i highly recommend this place .

We've eaten here many times and just love the place. We've had different dishes here and they've all been delicious. Everything is very flavorful which is very important to me in food. The customer service is outstanding and they went out of their way to accommodate my need to stay away from wheat. A real pity since I like pitas but I do what I have to do. And the food still tastes great. It's also BYOB. We've brought a bottle of our favorite Greek wine a few times. You will not be disappointed in this place.

I had placed an order at 5:20 in the evening and my order was not ready until 6:26 p.m. I have asked the waiter several times about my order and he ignored me until the end when he gave me my order he then apologized. And there was a super young girl who had shown up way after me and she coincidentally received her order before me!!! I'll never go back! What a 1st bad experience...

The chicken shawarma is filled with so much flavor! The owners are welcoming, and occasionally there is live music. Thankfully, I was able to call ahead when reserve seating for an after work gathering. The pricing is reasonable.

Every meal that we order was full of flavor. I personally ordered the Vegetarian Korma and lentil soup. Each spoonful AMAZING!!! Our waitress Laura knew the menu so well and her recommendations were all on point. We will definitely come back every visit to the beach.

It's a great place to get Mediterranean/Indian food. My husband and I LOVE the home ginger ale. Never had a bad critique for it thus far. Definitely a go to spot. Not super cheap, but we think it's worth the price for the food offered.

First time visitor for My nephews graduation luncheon. From the minute we walked in until we left we were well taken care of. Our waiter was Omar, and he was amazing. He took the time to explain the menu to us and made some great suggestions. Our drink glasses were Always filled and the kitchen staff was pumping out our food. I had the Chicken Shawarma Platter And The robust flavors of the food was out of this world. I will defiantly recommend the Ginger Cafe to all my family and friends. Thank you to Omar (our waiter) and staff for making my first visit very pleasurable.

It was good, but the calamari was frozen. It seemed like alot of the food available was frozen. Would be great if the food was fresh.
