This Restaurant is included in the category of Steak house.
What can be said that hasn't already? The food and service is legit fantastic! We brought family here that hadn't been here before and they were amazed and the property and food and wanted us to bring them again, which we probably will anyways. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu!
Five star restaurant! The drive and anticipation is well rewarded once you get there. This place has a petting zoo, lake, Indian village, desert scenery, museum and great food! You will not be disappointed. This place is so popular the wait can be up to an hour. The taste of the food was flavorful and fresh. This is a working ranch, so your steak will have been cut and cooked the freshest you'll every get. The service was the best of most restaurants. The restaurant has seating for 100+. There is a gift shop with great prices, something for everyone. Awesome sunsets!!!
Really great scenic restaurant to check out at least once while in El Paso. Food was decent, not the best not the worst by far. Plan for it to be a bit pricey, you pay for fresh cut meat though! Pineapple coleslaw was good, rolls were eh, steak was decent. Plan to visit their whole property and spend some time out there. Lots to see.
Amazing pecan pie. Don’t put ice cream on it
Best. Steak. In. The. World. Get here at sun down of course. Get your selfie on the back patio. Go see the menagerie before or after you eat. Get your picture with any of the free roaming peacocks! Check out the horse in the parking lot. Amazing Amazing amazing
Service was horrible. Not friendly. Never heard a "Thank you", "You're welcome", " My pleasure", or any variation of the sorts from either one of our servers. Beverage menu was taken from our table as soon as food order was taken. Not giving us a chance to explore options. Servers acted like we were an inconvenience to them. They never so much as smiled. They seemed irritated at work as if they were extremely busy, but in fact, they had just opened and business was slow. In addition, we were ignored repeatedly for water refills and found ourselves having to wave them down. 2 stars for food. It was good, but way overpriced.
When I tell you this is the best steak I've ever eaten... I mean it. Saying it was delicious doesn't come close to how good it was. Great customer service as well. 5 stars isn't enough.
I'm struggling to find the words to describe how much I enjoyed this place. The building itself was great, the food was great, the animals were great, the whole experience was just superb. If I had to say one thing bad about this place it would be only that it's a little bit of a drive to get to but it's so worth it. So the restaurant building itself was awesome. Looked like something straight out of an old Western movie. Just the perfect balance between cozy and roomy and just awesome. Service was very good. Attentive but not overwhelming. Most things looked clean and tidy. Not many places can you say it was an awesome experience but this place was just perfect. The food was absolutely incredible. I had the cowboy steak (a 2 pound chunk of t-bone) and it was cooked to perfection and tasted even better. Every bite was a joy to eat. Every side dish was excellent as well. Not a thing placed on the table that I didn't fully enjoy. The dessert I had (apple pie a la mode) was just as good as you'd expect at this point of the meal, just top notch. Once dinner was over, I rolled myself to the gift shop and purchased a few things. After that, I proceeded to have a wonderful walk around the spectacular premises and enjoy all the different animals they have there. Great looking cages, well maintained. The animals were certainly taken care of. And what a wide variety of animals as well. A few things of note. There is lots of seating for different sized groups large and small so that's good. It gets busy quick so have a plan before going. Bring that appetite! This experience was a joy from start to finish and ranks as one of my favorite restaurants to date. Thank you Cattleman's. I never say this, but you exceed the 5 star perfect rating.
Came here for our 1 year anniversary, everything was going good. Once leaving we packed our left over food, ribs, as we only ate 2 of them and My husband stayed behind to pay while i took my girls to the restroom. Since my husband was holding our 7 month old he put the bag with the ribs down and the buss boys came over to clean the table. They moved the bag to clean the table but somehow the boys threw away our bag without even asking my husband who was standing there if we were going to take the bag home or if it was trash. A whole stack of ribs and almost $30 down the drain. Nothing was done about our situation not even a “I’m sorry”.
Must be there place. Steaks are awesome! Place is fantastic.
Had the 2 pound T bone .. great size, good taste
Really neat place out in the middle of no where. Very good steaks, without a lot of fuss. The property and decor immerse you in the spirit of the southwest! Definitely worth the drive!
This place is always worth it. The service is always excellent, the food is always delicious and the atmosphere is engaging! While the price point is high, It has never hurt to pay here and we will come here as many times as possible
Both the food and restaurant are great, but it's the outside activities that make it such a great time. Recommend!
When we got to El Paso we wanted a great steak. Heard of this place from a friend. Oh my goodness we had the ribeye and what a steak it was. Cooked to perfection and so tender. The slaw is sweet and delicious and the beans have great flavors. The property has cool animals to see and a rattlesnake pit.
Excellent steak and great atmosphere and great service..can't go wrong here!
Awesome food, great service, terrific atmosphere.
I happened to be delivering meat to this restaurant and ended up having one of the best experience I've ever had at a steakhouse. Israel was the night manager and made sure not only that i could park my truck, but that i had great service as well. The brisket cubes compare to nothing I've ever been served before, They were juicy and incredible. My steak was perfection as well. Thank you so much!
Awesome food! I had filet and shrimp for dinner. My husband and I shared pecan pie for dessert! Best pecan pie I have ever eaten!
Great place to go to get away from the city and enjoy a good steak. The playground, maze, and animals are great for the kids. I would have given it 5 stars but the beers are not kept cold and you can't make reservations.
Great food and great service most definitely worth the price. If you want to be cheap do not come here. The food was amazing and the flavor was on point. I ordered Long island iced tea and it was probably the best I had from a restaurant ever. And my good once again was amazing. Only draw back we had was my wife virgin mimosa was way too sour but they fixed it and it was drinkable. I will most definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants good food and good service
Tasty food, great environment my family and I had a great experience at Cattleman's Steakhouse.
I was in El Paso for a business trip, a local recommend the place and I decided to make the 35 minute drive. First, the drive there is beautiful! The ranch is a oasis in the middle of nowhere with live animals (deer, lamas, goats, rabbits, peacocks and rattlesnakes). The restaurant is large with plenty to see. Now the food! The steak was wonderfully delicious, cooked to perfection. The prices are higher than your typical Texas roadhouse but in reality there is no comparison. If you're in the area don't miss out on this gem in the desert!
A zoo. A nice walking path. Territorial geese. This place has a lot to do and see. Feels easy to mention that their steak is the star of the show. Somehow the best steak I have ever had. I frequent 5 star restaurants on special occassions and yet this place is better for a third of the price. Wholly recommend this steakhouse. So far the best steak I have had in my life. Also the slaw is quite amazing and the baked beans grow on you, they are quite lovely as well.
Let's just say this. This is the best place to get steaks in the El Paso area. Period. No ands, ifs, or buts. Is it worth making the drive to Fabens for their steaks? Absolutely. And while the price of the steaks may seem pricey at first glance, when you consider both the quality and the ridiculously large portions that they offer, it really isn't bad. The Cowboy steak can very easily be shared with two people. Also, you never need to use A1 sauce here. The seasoning used here, along with the quality and technique of properly cooking their steaks, just creates such a wonderful flavor. This place has been around for years, and it's always packed when I show up here because people just know it's that darn good. If you've never been, I can't stress enough that you should give this place a shot.
Food delicious and staff very friendly! Never disappoints! A constructive criticism would be to change the carpet for tiles. It would give the restaurant a cleaner look
It overly priced. The service is subpar. For the price, i expected better. Theres nothing phenomenal about this restaurant. Should have gone to Rulis or great american.
Pretty good steak but the sides and bread were just alright. Very nice area though.
This is not steak...it is meat butter! This was absolutely hands down the best food I have ever had in my life. We drove through fabiens out of our way just to eat here. My son loved the zoo outside! You have to stop here!
The best steak you can ever eat!! With some mushrooms on side and an order of some huge shrimp!!! Man makes me want to go right now!! Beautiful view and little zoo they have. It is super fun to go walk around enjoy outside with the animals and nice sights and then a great meal!!
Good food!! We had a blast and we will return.
My son, who lives in El Paso, took me here a few weeks ago for dinner. I keep going back to that dinner and wish Cattleman's Steakhouse was in my state! The overall experience was incredible! The food was FANTASTIC! The steak was cooked exactly the way I asked...the service was outstanding...the overall experience, before, during and after was wonderful. If you have the chance to go and spend a few hours there then you will be creating a fond memory!
The steak was amazing! The only vice it has is the outlandish pricing and the three pronged forks. Who likes three prong forks? They just look weird.
One of the best Steak House joints ever! Great atmosphere with superb service. Very clean and awesome Western setting off course you are in the West!! This is one of those places, if you don't go then why did you go to Texas? You'll spend some cash but never forget it. It has been 4 weeks since I been there and I still talk about it!
Great food & pleasent atmosphere
BEST STEAK IN THE WORLD!! Everyone usually talk's , but not us to busy eating!! IT WAS GREAT-!
Eat here if you love meat and don't go for the rib eye go for the porterhouse steaks I learned my lesson when I went with dad the rib eye was fantastic untill I saw the the porterhouse steaks I had instant regret I would really suggest eating if you love steaks like an addiction
This place is a good ways outside of El Paso but definitely a must for dining as well as a tour of the property. The restaurant has a tendency to get very busy so plan ahead and get there early. The ranch farm has lots of great animals for viewing which makes it a good place to bring children. The food is absolutely great and the steak's are one of the biggest food draws for this place. Looking for great steak options, this that place. They have a case in the front as you enter the restaurant that shows the different types of cuts they offer to give you an idea of what to expect. Definitely worth the visit.
Great steaks, great service, good wine selection. Never been disappointed
Best lobster outside of New England. Phenomenal steaks..... Southwestern ambiance is second to none. A must do.
This place is one of the best restaurants in El Paso. We love going there and each time we go we try new things. It's a steakhouse so I always stick to what they do best. This time I had the beef-k-bobs and they were pretty good. Only reason for four stars was that there were more than one thing wrong with our order. Item overcooked and an item missing.
Always a treat when going to this restaurant. The ambiance is beautiful the outdoor activities are great for the kids and fun for adults as well. The service is always amazing!
We had an event in the Horsemans Club, we were served buffet style. The brisket I was served was nothing but carved up, barbqued FAT. The chicken was dry, but tolerable but the meal was definitely NOT worth $30. Very disappointed with this visit
One of my favorite stake places. Love the coleslaw, the pineapple gives it the best flavor. Always cooked to perfection, staff amazing. Usually a waiting period but no biggie, we can always walk around the ranch and view all the animals. Take pictures around the lake and find our way out from the cute little maze... you can feed some of the animals so you might want to take some quarters.
Amazing food. Awesome animal exhibit. Go early in the evening so you still have daylight to enjoy the walk.
The food was great. Wish the beans would be cooked like a long time ago, otherwise the service was great too.
You need a big appettite to eat there. Food is great. Hsve animals to see.
Fabulous place for the whole family. Positively outstanding. Be sure to arrive early to explore the area.
Awesome steakhouse, this was my 2nd visit and I was not disappointed. The place is huge and an experience in itself just to visit. The steaks were cooked perfectly, do not order rare thinking it will be slightly overcooked like most places...they nail the temperature exactly. The side dishes are delicious as well and do not forget the ice cream drinks for after dinner. I will return if I am ever in the area.
Best steak of my life. Well worth the money
Besides the excellent food that is worth the detour by itself, they have a kind of mini zoo free for those that eat there. Bring quarters for food dispensers, the bunnies are especially keen on an extra snack. There are also foto's of numerous films being shot on its lands. A table by the window is recommended for the scenic view.
The reviews of this place were so good, we were so excited to try it! It’s a cool experience because there is a little zoo, and the restaurant style stays true to the times but...the food was a serious disappointment. We paid almost $100 for two steaks that were just not worth the price. The food was all pretty much undercooked, including the veggies. The rolls were dry, just all together missed the mark. So if you are looking for a fun different atmosphere it’s worth a try, but the food isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
Amazing service, even more amazing food. Steak is always cooked to the way you want and if there are any issues, someone takes care of it right away. Be prepared to spend a good amount if you plan on coming here, worth every penny!
This place is special. A great family spot with lots of activities and an awesome play fort for the kids. Food was delicious and service was excellent.
Tender steak nice atmosphere the food is so good. Also Outback they have a rattlesnake pit plus other animals that you can view if you like.
This review is for the event and wedding venue portion of the ranch: This venue is BEAUTIFUL. The only reason they are getting 3 stars is b/c of the woman in charge of coordinating events. I believe her name is Carmen. We had our wedding ceremony and reception here. Everyone employee working during our wedding day was wonderful except Carmen. From the day we toured the venue she gave us the run around. We were constantly Locke sour when we had appointments to be there with our wedding planner. She tried to charge us for things that were not in the contract. She even left the venue locked the day of the wedding. My weddingbegan at 6 and by 4:30 it was locked and my wedding planner was livid b/c they needed to set up but Carmen insisted it was her day off which is unacceptable when we have signed a contract to be there the day of. We signed for a two ticket/guest bar and paid out of pocket upon signing the contract. However, Carmen failed to tell us that we would have an additional tab b/c drinks are worth different amount of tickets. This ruined my husbands mood in the middle of our day b/c we got slammed with a $500+ bar bill when we had no idea this would be happening. We also were made to pay for an additional bartender but both bartenders were under age with zero bar tending experience and only one of the two bartenders were even doing anything. The other simply watched his underage partner attempt to make some poorly made drinks. This was very frustrating and we had to close the bar mid-reception b/c we could not afford this unpredictable expense that was not outlined in our contract. This venue has so much potential and it is gorgeous and everyone except Carmen and the underage bartenders were amazing and helpful. Unfortunately, If Carmen continues with this venue, other events and other people will continue to be disappointed and frustrated on a day that is supposed to be the greatest and happiest day of their lives. Carmen should be released from this company and this company/venue will be capable of so much more
Great food, a lot of places to see while waiting for table the movie sites and animals.
Delicious food! Best steak anywhere! Fun atmosphere with a great wait staff! Lots of animals to view before or after your meal! Great place to take kids!
Absolutely the best steak restaurant in El Paso! It has also been a top ten steakhouse in Texas. Nested on a real cattle ranch with real animals and amazing vistas. It is a must visit destination when visiting the sun city!
Gotta stop here for some authentic and locally owned steak house in the southwest. Steak is superb and their sides and drinks are one of a kind. The ambiance is relaxed yet elegant whether you are in dress shoes, boots or even sandals, it just feels like an perfect mixture of home and extravagance all together. There at plenty of areas to also host private parties for church luncheons, companies, family reunions or weddings. There's also a free zoo of farm as well as exotic animals in the ranch. Hay-rides are available to the Indian Cliffs as well as areas where famous movies have been shot on the premises. Highly recommend this beautiful ranch! Go by there at Fabens, Texas, just 15 minutes outside the city El Paso, TEXAS!
Awesome!! Steaks are amazing!!! Make sure you get there a little early and check out the property. Kids will love it.
Great Family dining great food all the Time!!!!!
Very good steak...juicy and cooked just right...sides were great too...
The best kept secret in the US for a steak dinner. I have NEVER had a bad streak in the 40 years I've been coming here. You will not be disappointed. It's not cheap! But worth every penny.
Absolutey one of the best and tastiest steaks I have had. Cooked exactly as specified, perfect seasoning. The sides were incredible including the beans coleslaw and mushrooms. Great ambience. The active ranch and wildlife, coupled with the incredible food makes this Stakhouse A Must See Place.
We love Cattleman's! The best cole slaw you will eat. When ever we have people visiting, we take them for dinner. Ask to be seated near the windows where you can see the coyotes being fed every evening. They serve the best steaks but they are very large. They filmed parts of Courage Under Fire on the ranch. If you are in El Paso, plan an evening at the steak house. Well worth the drive and the cost!!!
Best burger I've ever tasted and the beans hit right at home. (Everything was delicious!)
For the long drive and taste, price is not worth it. However, that is my humble opinion.
Great place for a tasty and juicy steak! Good customer service. Love the hay rides they have and all the animals. Great place to take kids!
Not as good as I remember it from 5 years ago but a quick gateway
Always the best experience. Neat place and views. Fantastic food. A must do if your app n El Paso for business.
Went for the first time to celebrate my 2 year anniversary with my wife. Scenery outside was beautiful, and walking around to the animals was fun. Food was not as good as I thought it would be for the price. Waitress was not very attentive or friendly. Long wait to be seated and to receive our meals. No fresh lemonade, bread from Texas Roadhouse is better. Water and ice tasted like sink water. Hopefully next experience will be better if we decide to go back.
great food and atmosphere. our server was not very cheery though. she conducted herself with customer service but nothing above and beyond for the customer.
Food, service, and staff is perfect. Food is amazing steaks are cooked to perfection. Very clean bathrooms, restaurant, and the outside even the animal area is very clean.
Always good food and service. Really enjoy taking a walk through their zoo after eating.
Nice place friendly atmosphere delicious food good service clean fun and well worth the trip love it
Best steak I've ever had...
Dont go hungry during any holidays. You will wait several hours. We waited almost 3 hours to get seated. The sites are great. The petting zoo is fun . Great sunset views. Pricey but worth it.
The steak is every bit worth the drive. The rolls don't match my NC girl standards but who the hell is here for the rolls anyway? Steak baby belly for the win.
Excellent service. Great steaks. True western atmosphere.
I drove from San Diego CA,and my expectations were exceeded, this place and steaks are unique,
Great steak and atmosphere! This place is out in the middle of nowhere. Great views. Loved it!
What a neat Steakhouse. Put your name down with the hostess then take a quick walk around the Ranch checking out the petting zoo and all it has to offer. The food is phenomenal and the menu is bigger than expected so if you don't like steak there is an option for you.
Wonderful food. Nice place for family. They have animals a little lake and romantic spot to watch the sunset. Pricey.
Was invited by a friend of a friend. The staff was courteous the resturant had a feel of an old ranch house. Decorated old west, but not over the top. Price was high, quailty was also high on the steak as for cut and prep. It was cooked to the right temperature but it was not the best steak I've had. It was good but flavor is why I didn't rate it higher. I like a strong flavor, it just seemed to miss that mark. The spiced beans for the side were sweet not spicy. While good, again they missed the mark. We didn't get to see the coyotes feed but we got to be in the original ranch room. Overall 10 people were in the party, if you have the extra money and plenty of gas to get there its worth a trip or two.
We took our son here for his birthday. We had a lot of fun. Plenty of things to see while your waiting. The food and service was outstanding. Definitely will visit again if we are ever in El Paso again.
Always delicious. Staff always great. I'll be back, as I always am.
The steaks were great. The beans were really good. I loved it!!!
Think big or go home!! Cattleman’s Steakhouse is the high standard for authentic Texas cooking. Everything on the menu is top notch. There is a variety of seating for large groups or intimate dates. The decorations and atmosphere add to the experience! You will leave satisfied with a smile! Don’t forget to check out the zoo out back. Whaaat?? A zoo??
Better places in El Paso to take your family
What a great location and business. I especially enjoyed the NY strip. It was perfectly prepared and our server Ron was tops! They had my favorite suds too!
Amazing steak house, such an amazing experience in a place full of history, great food and animals. Come for their delicious steaks and stay for their animal sanctuary. Out of ways from El Paso but worth the drive, highly recommend.
I'm from Albuquerque N.M. and I've driven here approximately 300 miles to enjoy the steaks. I love this place. Check out this bad boy ribeye with sauteed mushrooms and onions and a fully loaded baked potato.
heard so many good things about this place...our meal did not live up to those expectations...steaks tender but little flavor...ordered medium rare came out rare/rarer...filet mignon was tough with sinew.....bread was dry...bacon wrapped shrimp very dry, sitting under heat lamps too long...4 meals with 5 drinks $170...don't mind paying for excellence but I'd rate this place mediocre based on our experience...West TX Chophouse in El Paso much better..and much closer. Went on a Sunday...place was packed...maybe that was the problem.
This place is very cool. Steaks were great. Had a good time here
Always a top notch experience with world class steak. Our server, Ashley, was very polite and attentive.
We went on a Saturday night...super BUSY! We had prompt service, our waitress never let our glass get empty. The food was AMAZING! Great atmosphere, and the history, and scenery is awesome!! If we ever return to ElPaso we will visit again!
Our steaks were incorrectly cooked rolls was cold as soon as we was going to leave our food got there in like 5 minutes also they was going to charge a gratuity tip automatically like they were 5 or more people with us and it's only 2 of us First and last time Do not recommend this place
I brought my aunt and my cousin because this is her "go to" place and a little bit of pampering was in order. My aunt absolutely loves the Cole slaw with pineapple and it became an instant favorite of mine. A meal for 3 adults and 1 child came out to $140 so this place is not cheap by any means. The frozen cheesecake was great and the pecan pie was mouthwatering. I would definitely come back. The only downside was that our waitstaff was a little inattentive.
The BEST STEAK ever!!! We hosted an event with over 80 in attendance the food was excellent and the room was perfect. The entire staff was friendly and fun. The best thing besides the steak was the price, what a great deal and the ambience and sunset was breathtaking to say the least
It's been a favorite spot with my family for years! Great little activities and a large variety of animals on the property. The food is DELICIOUS! I'm not always one to eat steak (usually chewy/tough), but I could eat that steak all the time! 100% recommend. Just keep in mind that they don't take reservations!
This place was more than I expected. It was fantastic. Great food. Outstanding desserts. And they had so many animals to walk around and see.
Went for a birthday lunch half my family was served 1st and 40 mins later the other half. Steak was not Cooked right sent it back they microwaved it.
So, I've visited Texas twice, working with the Pitt marching band. Both times, it was colder there, for December, than it was in Pittsburgh. So, this restaurant provides a great experience! Unfortunately, I was there during the freakishly cold weekend and their barn-style building was so cold. AMAZING FOOD. I was not expecting a steak, medium-rare and served buffet style (we were there only people there, bringing our 300+ band, cheer/dance and staff) to be my most memorable steak experience ever.
Been here a few times since moving to El Paso. Will say the food is great! However, it has been hit or miss with service. But will always continue to come here for the amazing ribeyes.
A must if in the El Paso area. Steak is high quality, not hype. Solid selection of sides. Beer selection could be improved, but basics were there. Lose a star to customer service. Our waiter could have been more engaging especially for a place like this. Beautiful scenery and a neat hallway with movie posters and information of which movies were filmed there.
It's a must stop !! Such a cool and beautiful property. Food was fantastic and the service was lovely. My group took a pleasant after dinner stroll on the sprawling property. Who would have thought that there would have been all types of animals there.
This is my favorite restaurant to go to whenever I am in the vicinity of El Paso. It is really worth the trip, the steaks are no joke
Great food, large property with lota of animals, a small maze, a small lake and outside coverwd party area.
Get to room the land seeing the different animals then up to the restaurant for excellent meal with great service. Exploring in the restaurant is awesome as well with the many photos of films shot there. Excellent family experience. Bit pricey but well worth it.
It’s a decent drive out here but worth the drive. The staff was courteous and food was delicious. Kids will love their zoo outback and the chance to see the animals. Would visit again.
Great service. Our party of 5 all loved it! We had lobster, steaks, and shrimp cocktail. The family style side are delicious too. We also walked around and saw the rescue dog, horse, deer, peacocks and buffalo in the distance. So fun!
Best steaks I've ever had. Pricey though but if you go during the day they have lots to see. Its way out in the middle of the desert too.
All the hype you see in other reviews regarding this place are right. I was in town to visit a friend and had looked for a nice place to go to dinner. They did not disappoint, my steak was cooked just right (medium rare), enjoyed the shrimp cocktail and dessert. The baked potato was very large and they provided butter, cheese and sour cream to fix it up. Saved some if the steak to go so I could also have dessert, no problems there. Went a little earlier in the evening so there was no wait time. View was nice, by a window with some old ranch/farm equipment (they have historical items on display through out the area) and a bird feeder with dessert vegetation. After dinner took a walk around to look at the animals and the small lake area to walk off some of the dinner before heading back home. Had left over steak for breakfast and it still tasted great, no need for steak sauce to enhance it. If in the area I would not hesitate to go back. It would be a fantastic place for kids with all the animals to look at.
Good quality meat, medium rare has been consistent, well seasoned. Best steak under $50 in the area, and fun experience as well. Someone ordered the salmon at a steakhouse, and as expected it was horrible.
Absolutely my fav Syeak Restaurant. Love the ambience! Great food.
Always the best steak, service and atmosphere.
Food was great, service could have been better.
This is a great restaurant. The steaks are delicious as are all the sides. The service is friendly and attentive. On site is a small zoo and there is a lake walk as well. They also give hayrides. There is an amazing playground and maze for the kids.
Worth the hour drive out of town for breathtaking scenery, unique history and big steaks
Great environment, friendly workers! Our server was very attentive and accommodating. They have delicious food and the portions were plentiful. Walking out and interacting with the animals was a great ending experience! I would definitely go back.
The best steak a man could have. The service is excellent and the food is just awesome. Plus the ranch has magnificent views and a cool little zoo to walk around while waiting for your table or to let the meal settle afterwards.
The food was great!!! Service was fantastic the kids love to see and feed the animals. View was very nice.
Is worth every mile we drove from El Paso. If you are close by you should go. I think is well priced for what you get and the quality is top notch. If you are vegetarian... not sure, but if you are craving a good steak, mark this place on your do to list whilst in El Paso
Huge ranch with traditional restaurant. Food is exceptional. You must try their stakes, portions are huge. Price is big however.
This is THE place to take people when they come from out of town. Voted by Men's Health Magazine as the manliest steakhouse, this restaurant is located inside an actual working ranch. Steaks are top notch and service is outstanding! My "biggest" gripe are the rolls which could be better, but with so many other things to eat, not a big deal.
Great food!!! Been going there for years and we have always enjoyed their foods. Only one time I did not enjoy their foods because I ordered the ribs and it was very dry and over cooked. All the steaks my family and I have ordered have been great.. We will keep going there.. I highly recommend..
Always a great family outing. While the decor is pure kitsch, this is the place to satiate tour inner carnivore. The beef ribs are actually my fave item on the menu--very few places serve beef ribs (as opposed to pork ribs) and among them, theirs are the best I've ever had in Texas.
Great steak and seafood, but not quite worth it in my opinion. I got the cowboy porterhouse for $45 supposed to be 2 pounds, it was maybe 1 1/2 pounds. My wife got the 6 oz fillet and 5 giant shrimp for $38. The food tasted very good and steaks were cooked right. The resturant is more fancy than it leads to be online. They get 4 stars I feel because you pay 6 star prices for 4 star food.
The food is excellent! Very delicious! Great service too!
Delicious steaks and the service was good too. We spent a wonderful afternoon viewing the scenery and enjoying the animals after dinner. Worth every penny.
Amazing, I had the 10oz New York Strip and Shrimp combo, with a loaded baked potato. Great food, great service!
Food was excellent and the creation of the atmosphere too. I would recommend to anyone to go enjoy food and also watching the animals they have there.
Food is great every time I go! Perfect place to bring people from out of town!
Well i have had a better steak that all I can say people over rate this place
I come here at least once every 2 months. Food is beyond perfect. One of my favorites is the half the cow, a full rack of smoked ribs. The steaks are amazing as well. Cooked to perfection every time no matter how you like it. The people are always making sure you have what you need or if you need anything extra.
Had birthday dinner here. Well worth the 40min drive! Theres animals to check out and the place is much bigger then I expected. Expect roughly $30/person+ if you are wanting steak.
Too much food! That said my petite filet was perfect. The sides were good and the service was outstanding. But really, what is the deal with the bread? Tastes like day old stuff. They gotta do better than that.
Marveled by this place. Plenty of parking, and the wait staff seem welcoming from the beginning. Food is great and typical of a steak house. Place has also a zoo with several animals.
This restaurant is very southwestern, the grounds makes you feel you're on a ranch. Unfortunately, we were not impressed with their food. We had the Rib eye dinner and the steak had no real flavor, seemed like it had no seasoning pretty bland. It's pricey, which is fine, once you see their beautiful restaurant, but the food does not live up to it's name. We were in a party of 12, and the service wasn't very good either. Was disappointed.
The Ranchburger COULD NOT be cooked MEDIUM only medium-well done and above - therefore very dry and tasteless and not seasoned or garnished with onion; the rolls used for the hamburgers were dry and tasteless, their rolls were the same. The water and any drink made with their water (like my lemonade) tasted like chlorine...yep that chlorine smell you find in an indoor swimming pool. It was so bad you can taste it and smell it! They offer no garden salad or any salads for that matter. The baked beans were seasoned with cummin - not to my liking. The coleslaw was not traditional in that it had pineapple in it...it wasn't bad but was not what I expected. The chicken nuggets ordered for my kids had more encrusted batter than actual chicken. This was on a Saturday afternoon. We didn't opt for the steak dinners since we went there to get a light luncheon fare. Apparently, by the ratings, people like the steaks. I'll never know, since I can't get pass the water! Now, the ambience was nice; too bad it was tainted by the food and drink.
You won't find a better steak. Always good service. Sometimes a really long wait but, it's worth the wait!
Service was very slow, and we went on a Monday! Food was excellent, except the coleslaw was a bit dry. Wish they would offer a tasty bread. We have always loved this place, but this time was not our best experience.
The steak is always made the way I ask, I have never sent one back. A great family place with all the animals on the property. All the servers have always been wonderful.
Great food! Great atmosphere. Courteous and attentive.servers. great outside activity for children. Ride the train...
Service was great. Steak was cooked perfect. Food was served fast. Lots of sides. The pineapple slaw was great.
Food is good not what you would expect for what you pay though. More of a one and done type of place. Lovely place to spend a couple of hours walking around at after you have eaten though.
Best steak I've ever had! I can't wait to go back! Beautiful location too!
It had been 38 years since I had eaten at Cattlemen's. What a surprise. It's no longer just a steakhouse, it's now a destination. 2 hour wait due to mother's day I suppose. Worth the wait? No, not 2 hours. 20 minutes maybe. Food was good but not great. Slightly over priced. Good service though.
Amazing wait staff worth the drive to the middle of nowhere for an awesome steak dinner!!
The best place for steak for anyone who is visiting El Paso. Staff is very attentive and quick on refills. Will be a long wait for large parties but is worth it. Any cut of meat here is cooked to perfection.
It was great, once again. 10 stars or ever how many the limit is.
It has been a long time since I came here last maybe I was about 6 years old. I decided to take my husband who isn’t from this area and my 2 year old daughter for lunch on a Sunday. We arrived and we promptly seated after about 5 minutes. The welcome staff was nice and efficient. I love the decoration and all the old western stuff inside it really feels like a Texas Steakhouse here. Our service was, meh, I mean I have had better but I wasn’t expecting too much. It was very basic, “hi my name is so/so and are you ready to order?” I don’t want to call her out so I will omit the name. However, we weren’t coming for the service we were coming for the steaks! I ordered the Filet Mignon Medium with a baked potato, husband ordered The Cowboy Medium Rare with corn, and I ordered my daughter the hamburger with cheese. I also ordered the shrimp cocktail as a starter. The cocktail sauce was nothing the rave about, but the BBQ sauce was really good, I think it was definitely homemade. My daughters burger was first and the hamburger bun was so dry it was nasty. So I was a little disappointed in that. My steak was cook medium rare and the filet is not as soft as you would think most filets are, although they do cut all their meat there. It was a good taste though, I didn’t finish most of it because it was a little rare for me. My husbands cowboy he really enjoyed, but he did say it was on the more rare end not medium rare. I will say I have eaten a lot of steakhouses and this one is fine to show people from out of town but honestly it’s not worth the drive out there. I don’t need to ever go back. It just wasn’t amazing.
Great food and rustic Texas location with live animals for viewing. Straks are the main attraction and are excellent.
First time visiting and got the cowboy special, it was great. When I recieved the steak, my wife said you ain't going to finish that and she was wrong. Great and fast service.
It's my first time to in Texas This restaurant has excellent customer service and friendly greeting I really enjoyed to eat. yummy
