Cafe de France is a wonderful restaurant that serves breakfast lunch and dinner with a great Flair. They also have a bar so you can have a cocktail with your dinner if you like. The food is so well-prepared and the Ambiance so Charming it is a great go to place for our family.

Pretty long drive for us, but worth it. Cafe de France has been one of our most reliable go-to places for weekend breakfast and brunch for years. It's great to know that we can count on consistently good food, good service and caring management. Wife loves the waffle combo. I tend to order the traditional corn beef hash with eggs and English muffin. But whatever your taste, the large menu will have something you like.

Very big gap in my expectations vs reality. I expected a mid-level French restaurant as the name suggests. However, it is much more aligned with a Denny’s except Denny’s is probably better. The Eggs Benedict is made with lunch meat, not Canadian bacon. The fruit on the crepes was at least 2 days old. My daughter almost threw up as she was eating because it was that bad. The music was grandparent-friendly and evidently it worked because 70 was the average customer age. One of the worst restaurants I’ve ever visited. But the staff was very, very nice. Service was good.

Not what we expected. I came for the crepes and asked for them a certain way that they do for others but they refused and were rude about it and the waffle was dry as can be plus the owner walks around with a glass of booze which isn’t professional at all.

I am also a native of Paris and think this restaurant is a slice of heaven!! From the moment you walk in, the charming owner welcomes you like family and makes sure your entire meal is special! The food is truly outstanding!! I've lived in NYC for a decade and love good food... I can honestly say this is my favorite in Dallas! Everything on the menu is delicious... There is a reason this place has been around for 30 years!! The french pastries are mouth watering, the croissants are perfectly flaky, the French bread is my favorite, the chocolate croissant is made to the standards of my neighborhood bakery in Paris and the desserts are irresistible!!! Come here for a wonderful meal once and you'll be hooked! I feel like family every time I walk in!! Can't wait to go back. Now I'm hungry :)

This was a surprising little delight. Since the first visit have been back again. Food is still the best quality although the service was VERY slow. Food took for ever to be served, our waitress couldn't be flagged down. We asked for the check twice. Finally, we just got up and asked the owner for our check and were able to pay and leave. Still 5 stars because I feel this was a one time thing - maybe a trainee waitress. Won't stop us from going back.

I love going here for brunch. The owner is always out and about and friendly (as is the staff). I asked where he got the beautiful paintings at the entrance, and he replied "...Paris." The restaurant is always lively, but is never overly busy, creating a lovely environment. I have yet to order something I dislike. I particularly like the crepes. Their coffee is also top-notch!

This was my first visit in over a decade since they left East Plano. The food and selections are great. Warm and welcoming entry. The owner is still onsite and still very friendly. Oh my goodness! I don't have enough words to express how delicious everything there is. I haven't tried anything so far that I have not liked. Flavors are very rich but not overwhelming. Well balanced. And if you go before 6 pm you get their early dinner special which includes dessert.

I visited Paris this summer, but I think I enjoyed my meal at Cafe de France better than the restaurants in Paris. I appreciate the American-style service (free refills, butter for the bread, and attentive server) with the French-style presentation (smaller, more flavorful portions). I don't usually see children in the restaurant, but I always bring my kids and there's a good selection for them. The chicken marsala is my favorite but everything else I have tried had been pretty good. French wine, beer, and pastries nicely round out the meal.

Staff was good but I feel like owner has a problem to talk with black people.Reason, I can not understand why he is just by our side,and returns being busy 2 times while we request from the waiter to talk to him. I don't think it is a good place for "colored people". I have never seen before any owner on side refuse to talk to a customer like that.

I've been talking french lessons for several weeks and wanted to try some French food. There are many places in DFW but I wanted something a bit more low key. This fit the bill. the food was amazing, the staff friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was quite and cozy. My big and I each had the chicken and mushroom crepes, split the brie frites and assorted coffees. And of course, the creme brulee!

i have eaten there for years;and taken friends and family there; but my last experience was horrible. The service was very slow. But. That's not bad enough to make me write a bad review. When we received our salads they were not very fresh and to top it off half way into eating the salad, my husband found a long purple fingernail in his salad. The owner said sorry did not know how it happen and did we want more salad. None of us could not eat another bite of the contaminated salad, why he thought we would want more I don't know. We were expect to pay full price for this salad that was not fresh with brown edges and a big purple fingernail. We will never go to Cafe de France on Preston again.

A hidden gem that's been there a long time! Outstanding food and service, as good as you'll find anywhere! Deserts and other bakery selections are amazing! Early bird specials are also available and are an incredible value. It's a very cozy place that also has additional space for very large parties. For a quick bite, a quaint dinner, or a party, you can't beat the food or service you'll find here! There's a reason it's been around as long as it has, it's good!

Ordered the lunch special shrimp cafe comes with a soup or salad, picked the soup it's amazing! The entree is delicious as well, I'm blown away. Don't let the basic photo fool you, the meal was full of flavor! I will definitely be back. Also, it didn't take long about 15-20 mins, the only thing was it was kind of confusing where to pick up the food but they will take care of you! Also, there's sweet treats there, I'll have to try it out next time!!!

This was our first time to experience this delightful bistro. At 9:30AM, my husband got the Veggie Omelet. I got the Florentine Crepe and we shared a side of delicious homemade banana nut pancakes. Everything was quite scrumptious. The service was excellent. Fresh crusty French bread was brought out immediately with creamy whipped butter at just the right spreadable temperature. The house coffee was very tasty. We were too full to attempt the very Extensive dessert list, much to our chagrin. We compensated by leaving with a box of pastries (I had not found any worthy of comparing with the ones we ate in France Until these!!) which were Amazing!! The ambiance was quiet and elegant. We cannot wait to visit again!

First time there and I can't wait to return! The banana walnut pancakes are exceptionally tasty. We also had the croque madame (forgot to get a picture) which was more like an omelette with a croissant, ham and cheese in the middle, served with a ramekin of mushroom sauce. Tasty, but not what we expected in presentation. Good service, nice decor, and very cozy. I'm looking forward to trying their dinner menu soon.

Oh what ridiculous prices. The place seems fairly pretentious as well but I got that impression more from other patrons than I did from the cafe staff. It is a very nice place with lots and lots of perfectly polished brass and glassware and the staff are very friendly and efficient.

Horrible service. We waited 35+ minutes for food that never arrived while 3 tables of older couples around us got their food who were seated after we had already ordered. Manager handled situation poorly and never apologized for the lack of service. You will lose business treating young people poorly who could have become regular customers for many years to come.

This was my second time here tonight and I am still so impressed with everything about this place. The owner is kind and stays in the dining room. We were greeted immediately and got to choose where we sat. Service was super quick and we had our soup and salad within 10 minutes of sitting down. The creamy tomato and basil soup was so amazing I literally scraped the last of it out of the bowl with bread. The entrees came quickly as well. I had lamb that was as good if not better than a 60 lamb that I'd eaten in a ridiculously fancy steakhouse. And the alfredo with blackened chicken was delicious as well. Perfectly cooked all around. Super fantastic atmosphere, perfect for a more laid back date night with my husband. I'll be recommending this place to everyone I know!

Horrible service and bland food! If I could give zero stars I would. The waitstaff is racially biased and she didn’t even try to hide it. The owner came out and checked on all the white patrons but my sister and I were the only black people in the restaurant and of course he didn’t even look our way. I used to order on uber eats but I won’t be doing that anymore after being treated so poorly in person. Also the mimosas were terrible. -99/10 would NOT recommend!

Fantastic little bistro. Had the scampi and fried Brie for appetizers. The service was kind and wonderful. The owner is very engaging with the employees and customers. The place was not as busy, but it deserves to be more often. The bakery makes it even better to be able to leave with our dessert if we want or enjoy it in the restaurant. Best thing I saw was the owner builds such a rapport with customers that there’s a couple that comes in with their child and they trust the owner entirely with him and carrying the child around. It’s truly an amazing sight. Great restaurant!

Worst family diner. Saturday 7pm. Yes, they were busy. Drinks after 30min, salad after another 30min. After 1 hour and 20min (NO FOOD) we decided to live and received $20.2 check. Paid and decided to check my account on my phone - charged 2 times. First for $20.2 and second for $48.00. Went back and talked to server - she said sorry, we will return your $48 after couple days. Done with that place.
