Fantastic dining experience, with an expert chef and refined staff. Tried to lobster bisque and sea bass and immediately understood why they are staples on the menu. Our group samples a few different desserts and enjoyed the combination of classic and unique flavor pairings. Definitely a must for an elegant fine-dininf experience in Houston!

Tony Brooks

French food, mmm, super satisfying. Super delicious. The service was very friendly and kind. This place has an awesome feel to it. Food is similar to a cafe in Indianapolis I loved.

Antonio Gonzalez

Great food but was left expecting something more special. Overall the tasting menu had a good variety and delicious food but nothing incredible. Staff was very attentive but the seating arrangement made it a bit awkward to serve the people on the table seating next to the wall due to the lack of space for the waitress to move between tables. Will definitely visit again and hope to be surprised with a new twist on the tasting menu.

Heba Elko

Delicious filet mignon and sides. Yum, yum, yum.

Nichole Moretz

Thoroughly enjoyed the 6 course tasting menu with wine pairings. The atmosphere was perfect for a lovely date night.

Absolutely adorable! Quick service and delightful food

Neiman Catley

The food is so exquisite! Must come again... best French restaurant I've been to in Houston!

Michael Dougherty

Wonderful place for a quiet dinner (Work or romantic)

David Karpf

Beautiful atmosphere, attentive service and fantastic food! Great for a business lunch or a romantic evening.

Had a business lunch here this week. It was a set menu so I can't speak to the menu options. The salad was very simple with a fantastic light and citrusy vinaigrette dressing. The main of butter poach lobster tail over creamy risotto with asparagus was cooked perfectly but quite a small portion. We were one of only a couple tables in the restaurant at lunch on Thursday. They have a quaint private dining room that seats 10, the minimum tab at lunch was $300 for the three-course set menu.

Finally writing a review. Got engaged here Jan 2018 in one of their private rooms. I have to say service and food was amazing! Managers and staff were accommodating for each request I had and each plate was so good I still can't decide which was my favorite. My now fiance and I will definitely come back to relive the amazing experience.

Hasib B

Had the 7 course dinner. It was expertly prepared, and throughly explained by the server. Very knowledgeable staff, and fantastic menu.

High on my list of favorite locations for fine dining and special occasions. Each selection is exqusitely prepared and wonderfully presented. The portions are small and although pricey, I always feel of value because of the degree of culinary excellence imbued in each. Wonderfully crusty bread with butter just the right consistency. Desserts are a delight. Lovely decor. Give them a go when you seek something special!

I think this is one of the best restaurants in Houston. The service was great and the seating was quick (although I was there on a Monday, so it wasn't too busy), and everyone was friendly. But of course the key thing is the food. I did the six-course tasting menu with wine and it was perfect from amuse-bouche to dessert. Scallop perfectly cooked and beef incredibly tender with a great pepper crust. The supporting ingredients such as vegetables and fruits were excellent quality and well-prepared. The wines were excellent matches with the food, as well. Surely a restaurant to impress for dates, business or just for a great meal.

Adam Taylor

Amazing place, been twice and each time was fantastic. Highly recommend if you want a 5 star dinner.

Ailyne Juarez

Artisans promised an exquisite and elegant night. They did not disappoint. My partner and I visited this cozy restaurant for our Valentines Day dinner and were blown away by the delightful service and delicious food. They had vegan/vegetarian options and the servers made sure to inform me of the ingredients in each dish so I was informed about what was in my food. My partner had a chicken and lobster dish and stated it was absolutely delicious. I had the vegetable plate which was covered with an array of fresh veggies and a sweet potato purée that I wanted to drown in! Can’t recommend Artisans enough! Perfect for a romantic night out!

Caitlyn Anderson

French food at this place - great. Visited near twelve, it was not full. The place has a great atmosphere.

Molly Oliver

Best place , good service ,food ,pricing and great drinks, recommended!

Conner Horne

A preferred location for quality french food. This location is absolutely outstanding. Certainly worth a return visit. Menu is similar to a restaurant in Jacksonville I liked.

Christopher Crawford

French food and the scene at this location is super good. Do yourself a favor and try this place. There was quick and friendly service. It has a nice interior.

Trena Acker-Williams

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! I absolutely love this restaurant. Gregory is the best Maitre d, general manger, garson. You will not be disappointed.

Kylee Farmer

Went there on a Saturday. It has a cool feel to it. Mood here reminds me of San Diego's scene.

Kalyan Pothineni

The best French food in Houston. Elegant decor and high class space. Rich and tasty food.

Kelli Rayburn

Excellent location. Perfect place for a date night!

Delia De La Garza

Great business lunch!

Quyen Tran

Their peppercorn steak melts in my mouth and the strawberry mousse....whaaaa?! So crazy good!

Lingquan Shen

Food was delicious, absolutely delicate and had attention to details. However, a few items can be improved: 1. The servers were attentive, but when they described every dish, the speed of talking was way too fast... for someone who’s not very familiar with French food, it was a bit hard to understand everything. I wish they could speak slower. 2. This one is about the customers at that restaurant. I know the restaurant recommended the customer not to wear baseball caps at the restaurant, but could they also suggest the customers to lower their voices when they talk? When I dined there a few days ago, the customers next to us were so loud. It was like they were giving a speech. They completely ruined the cozy ambiance at the restaurant. I can’t even hear my boyfriend talking across the table. When eating at a French restaurant, one is supposed to talk quietly and consider the others surrounding you. I don’t want to know what you did over the weekend or your son’s summer plan. It was so inconsiderate and rude. Overall, I loved this place. I just wished some other customers could adjust their behavior according to the environment.

Josh B

Fantastic meal, great ambience, excellent service. Particularly enjoyed the foie gras and the lobster bisque, but everything we ordered was delicious. Very professional waitstaff: prompt and attentive, but also mostly invisible and we didn't feel rushed. Will definitely be going back bc there's other menu items I'd love to try and I'd also like to try the tasting menus.

Jonathan Fox

This place never disappoints. Best French restaurant in Houston without question. I would recommend the 6 course with wine pairing. Awesome ambiance, awesome food and awesome service!

Justin Georgeson

Fantastic French cuisine. Intimate setting for two, large tables for the family, or sit at the counter and watch the chefs work.

Worst experience EVER !! I had my wife’s birthday in this restaurant (Big mistake) they told me that will be a minimum order of 800$ for a private room no extra charge, I ended up paying over 1,400$ but that wasn’t the problem . The problem was that they charged each 1 of my guests a service charge (that the server explained us its the room fee - that we wasn’t supposed to pay since we crossed the minimum by almost double! + they charged us 15% tip include in the bill that is something That never happened to me in a restaurant in houston (and i go out Evrey week at least 2 times and it never happened ) If all of that is not enough , The waiter literally spilled almost a full dish on 1 of my guests and didn’t even apologize (forget about him NOT offering that half dish that he ended as “complementary” something that 99% of normal restaurants will do ) Simo The manager I spoke to about the extra room charge and also told him about the “ incident” with my friend and the dish (didn’t ask for refund or something) told me it’s my friends fault because he seen him stepped up while over 8 people including the waiter know he was sitting on his spot talking to his wife . The crazy thing is that they had a camera at the room and I told him I’ll pay double of the total bill (about 1500$) if he will show me that my friend stepped up but simo didn’t want to show us that and he said it’s not his problem and “I’ll never get fired “ Really?? This is what you guys have as a manager??? You guys should be a shame of yourself ! I’ve never seen a resurgent that charges like a high-end restaurant and has Wars service then Burger King . I regret doing my wife’s birthday here and wish I can take it back and do it at a different place. I will NEVER come back here again.

Ray Cook

Overall very good !

Dominic Powers

it's so savory. had a friend come into town and she asked me to take her here again. this place has a cool atmosphere.

Maximus Black

The food was tasty. Fast, efficient, and courteous service. Prices were appropriate.

Brock Beesley

Great service and incredible food. A little pricey but was worth it!

Nathan Cragun

My wife and I came here for lunch during restaurant week and were floored by the food quality and friendly service. I can't speak to the normal price / value proposition because we were eating from a promotional menu, but I would wager, based on the food quality, that the prices are pretty high normally. This strikes me as a great celebratory restaurant, rather than a regular haunt. Everyone we interacted with was very friendly and gave us great service.

Chad Parkhurst

Here for a work event. Great food and experience. Excellent and attentive staff.

Ronald Walker

Great scene for delicious French food. Visited on Fri I believe. Prices were fair for the quality of the food.

Michael

Excellent service and awesome food. I think this is my new favorite place to go when I feel like I need to treat myself.

Ignazio Caswall

We had such a great experience last night. We had a party of 10 in their private room. The customer service, food and cocktails were on point. We all tried the 6 course tasting menu which was amazing. Thanks you making our dinner party a huge success.

Sharmagne Taylor

Had lunch at a private event. Chef Fox and his staff did an excellent job on both the food and service. THIS IS A HIDDEN GEM in downtown Houston!

Lillian Maddox

the staff was very friendly and attentive.

Rafael De Avila

Awesome service awesome food awesome ambience

This place is wonderful. The staff are great, the food is absolutely delicious, and I love the atmosphere. The low lighting can also make it very romantic. However, if that's not your thing, focus on the food. You will love it.

Hunter White

An absolutely fantastic high end restaurant. Very attentive and knowledgeable staff. Wide selection of wines, champagnes, and French classics. Lovely intimate atmosphere, with a modern touch. Truly a great place for a fancy date, anniversary, or other intimate occasion.

Jessica Pope

Awful...hostess was so rude that we just left. Reservations apparently mean nothing on Valentine’s Day. Wouldn’t waste my time here.

Anna Webb

the staff was very welcoming and observant. it has a cool interior. feels like a place in los angeles i loved.

Alex Hailey

This is a great restaurant great French food the inside decor and the service is superb. This place is not going to disappoint you. You really feel like you're sitting in a French or Cafe in Europe. The food the staff everything just makes you feel you are not in Houston. The food is excellent and the portions are just right this is how we Americans should be eating. I am very impressed by this place and I will definitely be going there regularly. The management here is doing a great job.

Sherri Bailey

Wow! Made a reservation for 2 at 7pm on a Friday night and was promptly seated and was given options of where we could sit! How often do you hear that at a busy restaurant?Amazing service. Plates, water, and silverware were constantly being replenished. Ambiance is great. It really does feel like you're in a nice French restaurant like the ones in Paris. AND THEY EVEN HAD DOWNTON ABBEY MUSIC playing in the background. I was SO shook!Had no idea what to eat because everything sounded fabulous so my friend and I both went with the $85 6 course meal. So worth it.It comes with : amuse bouche, foie gras, hors d'oeuvres (with ravioli, a seared scallop, and a mini lobster bisque cappuccino), Chilean sea bass, champagne sorbet, a beef filet, and chocolate mousse for dessert. Every single dish was awesome. Good flavor and all cooked perfectly. Even the bread and butter was good quality.I will most definitely come back and ask to sit at the chef's table so I can watch all the food being made. We had a great time!Tips : park in the garage if you don't want to valet. If you're doing the tasting menu, you need lots of time! We spent a little over two hours here.

Always excellent!! I have never had a bad meal or experience at this restaurant. One of my favorite in Houston.

Maria Rygh

Their pistachio crusted sea bass is the best fish in Houston

Alton Sorensen

My favorite restaurant in Houston. Excellent business lunch menu. Dessert was incredible!

Ekow Acquaah

This was my first time here and was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere. It's a very romantic restaurant with low lighting, soft music, and a very diverse set of options. This is not a cheap place to eat, be prepared to spend $75+ for a dinner for two (and much more if you decide to go for the multi-course meals paired with wine). French cuisine throughout, the meals were expertly cooked. This place definitely lived up to the hype. No street parking but there is a garage around the corner where you can park for free.

Nhat Nguyen

What an amazing experience! We sat at the chef's table and had a wonderful time watching the food preparation in front of our eyes. Everything was absolutely delicious!

Ara Karian

The redfish I had was nothing exceptional, especially for $39 and a small/mid size portion. It was obvious flavored with sugar. Food obviously its matters of taste but if you don't like sweet food don't go here. My partner had the sea bass and it was just OK. One friend ordered a soup. It was a minuscule portion which she pointed out had only filled the bowl one to half inch of soup. For a party of ten we asked for La Veranda, which has great ambiance. They told me there was no charge for the room as long as we spent $800. However there is a 8% service fee on top of the 15% mandatory gratuity for a total of 23% charge. I found that misleading and when I discussed this with the management they were surly. The waiter explained several specialty items within each page of the menu. It was obviously a memorized presentation done in hast. I didn't get much out of it. We ordered five wines in the $60 to $80 price range which we all liked. However after half way through our party they failed to continue serving. At the end of the night there were three bottles that had at least one serving. The restaurant is quiet (lightly patronized) so conducive for conversation and has great ambiance but one pays a high price for that. There are too many great restaurants with as good or better tasting food in Houston and with better service you can chose to spend your money.

Andrew Sarofim

I have come for lunch and dinner. Lunch has a prix fixe menu that starts with soup/salad then main course of filet mignon/lobster/sea bass then dessert for $29. Also have a steak and fries option for $20. At dinner, they have a full menu that is a bit pricier, but equally delicious.

Comrade Dog

My fiancee and I went there to celebrate Valentine's Day. Going into this, I already knew that the set menu price was $140 each, plus mandatory 20% gratuity and $15/glass for wine. I still reserved a table because I wanted us to have a great experience. Here is the summary: Firstly, they seated us at the edge of a bar under a harsh spotlight where my fiancee and I could not even look at each other. The fact that they duped me into a reservation for this spot is not ethical given their price. The portions of all but 2 of the courses were 1-2 tablespoons in volume. We left hungry despite paying a $450 tab. Our courses were plated incompletely in different ways. The poor waiter knew and kept apologizing. They're stingy with wine portions. Given their prices, this is just cheap. That fits with the rest of the experience, however. The food is simply not anything special. This is not a place for people who love food. Look, if your want to taste foie gras smeared on melba toast, then just buy some from Spec's and eat a bit of this at home before going out to a pub where you'll pay 1/10th of the price for better food and more of it. Avoid Artisan's.

Went for their new years taster menu. We weren't aware they weren't doing their normal menu. However the food was so incredible in both presentation and flavour we didn't mind. Fantastic experience

M. Kloesel

We had dinner here for Houston Restaurant Week and were completely blown away! The menu was spectacular and every bite was heavenly. Seriously, everything we had was exquisite. Having dined at Artisans from time to time since their opening, we are so appreciative that the food, service and ambiance has NEVER let us down, which is a rare and beautiful thing in the fickle Houston restaurant scene. The quality and consistency of their high end, authentic French cuisine is absolutely the best, not just in Houston but anywhere! Thank you for such an enjoyable meal with fantastic service!

David Shadmi

We had the 3 course lunch. The first and main were great. The desert was good, but not as great as the first and main. Friendly staff and great service. Definitely will visit next time we are in Houston.

Darrow Zeidenstein

My go-to restaurant for French food in Houston. I've been here multiple times and have never had anything less than a superb meal and professional service. The fish and seafood are excellently prepared, and the one time I had steak was a knockout, especially with the foie gras on top! The food is a bit heavy duty. So, come hungry.

Brett Fredette

Tasty food awesome vibe great staff makes this place to be visited again. I love it.

Walter Griffin

Higher class French dining. It is going to be a bit pricey for most Houstonians and there are many better restaurants in the city relative to this one's cost. However, this restaurant has an inspired French menu, great servers, warm and …

Coh It.4168

Great food, and very friendly and helpful staff. Awesome place for a business gathering.

Renee D

Favorite place for lunch! Also love dinner too

They did a great job of managing a dinner party of 65. Appetizers and main courses were timely and well done. Nice wine and attentive service. Valet parking is available and the only way to go. Bar looked interesting and would like to come back again. Recommended.

D Mariano

I came here for dinner on a Monday, the place was almost empty so we have the chance to choose our table, we sat in a table in front of the kitchen, I found the open kitchen concept pretty entertaining. My husband ordered the 7 course …

Rick Collins

Absolutely amazing food. Had the 6 course meal. Well worth the money. The atmosphere was very pleasant. I highly recommend it for a large group gathering or an intimate dinner for 2. Wonderful staff. Very accommodating. I would rank it as one of the top places to eat in the entire country.

Charles Terhune

Great food, the devastation with paired wines is excellent and reasonably priced.

Dhaval Desai

Really good food and excellent service. Perfect for party and group dinner.

Kimberly A Shockley, CPA

The food was good but the service was lousy. The server did not clear the extra place setting. Items we asked the server for we had to ask for again from other service folks. The birthday celebrant ordered the bouillabaisse. The menu described it with moules but there were none. This was my first visit and the celebrant raved about it. After this evening, she gave it a thumbs down. There are better French restaurants in Houston. I don't think I'll be returning.

Angel Mossberg

The scallops, sea bass and escargot were stars of the meal! Also loved the light and creamy chocolate mousse.

Wesley Long

Nice approach to French cuisine. Really excellent bartenders who make a tremendous Old Fashioned using a house made brown sugar simple syrup that is spiced. Really nice.

chloe dangcil

Wonderful food and customer service.

Wendy Owens

Normally I would have posted a pic but food looked so good I couldn't stop. Definitely worth going back to. Menu is like a cafe in Boston I loved.

Carol Lukach

We've been a few times. This last time was for restaurant week. Really enjoyed the selections. The atmosphere is cozy in the one room & open in the other, so depending on your mood and party you can switch it up. The wine selection is also a plus.

Luciano De Pazos

Artisan's was excellent as always. My wife and I have eaten here many times and always have a great experience.

Molly Eaton

service is excellent even when they are busy. i'll return family next time. this place has a nice atmosphere. this place has great reviews for a reason.

Ron Pinhas

I would give them 0 stars if it was possible . we had a birthday party about 8 people 80% of the people didn’t like it and I’m not even talking about the food that was to sweet and that’s for stakes etc not the desserts. One of the worst part was when the waiter Delivered my wife a steak and he spilled The entire sauce of the steak on my Brand new suit , pants and shirt. But you know what ? I didn’t complain about it because I understand that he’s just a human and it can happen so I left it away . We asked for the check it was over $1400 and that was fine but then we find out that they charge us a “room charge” and my friend that ordered the room Went to talk to the manager really nice and told him about the room charge that was supposed to be included in the minimum order (800$) and he also told him we didn’t complain after your waiter spilled on my friend almost a full dish and the manager instead of apologizing he told my friend that it was my fault and I stood up when I was sitting the whole time and called me a lier! the manager name is Simo, So not a good food and not a good manager this is a bad combination ! do yourself a favor and don’t spend your money over there so many good restaurants in houston with better service you can chose , spend your money in a place that will treat you better as a customer and will actually Cook you good flavor food and with better service. I will never come again to this place.

Brian Coles

Very good and good service.

Matthew Xue

The food was out of this world but the service not so much. I had went with the 6 course tasting meal for a price tag of $85 along with my family. For such an high end restaurant, high expectations are made, and the service was just not …

Todd Mercado

one of the best spots of its kind in the area. menu is like a cafe in boston i loved.

hamssa rasheed

I love it, went for my husband 30th birthday, cozy and romantic ♡♡
