We just called for take out around 7p.m. this Sunday evening. The phone was answered, but we were immediately put on hold... and forgotten about. 5...10...15 minutes go by and the phone is off the hook and we can hear everything going on, but we're forgotten and the staff had moved on to other orders, and other personal conversations. We tried calling on another line, but was immediately sent to a full voice mailbox. When we were tired of waiting, we hung up and called back about 5 minutes later, and the same person had picked up. We explained that we were the customers who had just called, and it was meant with an annoyed voice and a "so, okay well give me a name." Then when we we're giving the order, they got the name wrong, and we had to repeat multiple points of a small order (we just ordered 50 wings). There were no apologies or offers of recourse. We hung up feeling quite a bit disappointed. We really like this place because they have good wings, they're nearby, and we've had positive experiences in the past. However, the complete disregard to the inconsiderate way we were treated has given us second thought to our continued patronage. Hopefully, our order tonight will at least make tonight's ordeal worth it.

Great place to buy wings if you are hosting a party! Their price was half (or less) of what the price were at all of the other wing places. The wings were very flavorful and were a big hit at the party!

Went Saturday afternoon for some drinks, snacks, and watch game. Place was packed. Had to wait for a table. Beer was cold, TV screen huge. Good fried banana peppers. Onion rings large but way over cooked. We had a great time. Only four stars due to some food items could be improved.

No chickens were harmed in the making of their wings, but a ton of quail were. Tried to reheat some the next day, and they all disappeared. The wings are so small my daughter tried to feed one to her Barbie, and her Barbie looked at me like, That’s It. My 6 year old Son ate a hundred and was about to call DCF until I made him a grill cheese sandwich. In all seriousness, the wings were good but I have fallen asleep and over cooked wings that came out bigger than these.

I love this place. The wings are small and fried well. These are not the juicy big wings. The variety of flavors to choose from is limited but the price is good and the food quality is good. Beers are cold and surp risingly with only 2 servers the service has been good.

Don't judge a book by its cover. I think we had passed this place up 100 times because of the hole-in-the-wall appearance. But yesterday we ventured in for a order to go: the $20 special for 50 wings. We were told that the wings are small but flavourful, & that is exactly how they were. While we waited, my nosey self wanted to see what others were eating. I spoke to a customer at the bar eating fried mushrooms, I glanced at a table sharing a loaded pizza, a policeman at another table had a basket of wings with fries and he swore this was the best wing place in Knoxville & several other tables just had customers sipping on mugs of beer. Countless tvs were along the wall. The bathrooms were clean. The staff was friendly. Within 10 minutes our food was ready & we were on our way home. Those wings (yes, small) had So much flavor, so perfectly seasoned, sticky, drippy, & spot on that we were still mentioning them today. That's when I knew, I had to give this place a review & I had to let all the other people like us know that this is not the place to simply drive by.

Fantastic! Great local place with fast service and excellent food, at a great price! We visited from out of town. We usually like to find a local place rather than eat at a chain restaurant. We were thoroughly surprised at how incredible the wings are. Wings are cooked perfectly, sauce is exceptionally flavorful. We had the sweet chili and Parmesan garlic. Only thing, the wings themselves are a little small so you might want to order more than you usually would. But the prices are so great it won’t hurt the wallet! If you dine in, the atmosphere is local sports bar style. Staff is relaxed and super friendly. 10/10 would recommend to a friend!

This place has the worst "wings", if you can even call them that. They are tiny, about half the size of my ring finger with about as much meat. They grossed me out just seeing them. These were from chicks, not chickens, I will never go back to this hole and you shouldn't either. Literally anywhere else you could go will have better wings. This place is horrible.

It’s 9:24 on Monday night and just tried to sit down and eat. Got to the table and and asked the waitress how she was she said good but I needed to order within 5 minutes. Didn’t ask me how I was. Wasn’t hospitable at all. Store hours shouldn’t say you close at 10 if you stop cooking at 9:30. I work in restaurants and would’ve been out before ten PLUS tipped 50% for being in so late. Absolutely unacceptable

I'm a local man, born and raised right here in Knoxville, except for the 20 years I spent in the Marine Corps. I share that because I knew of many different restaurants to go to, but I decided to try Wings Express this past Saturday. My biggest complaint, what took me so long to try this place. It's a small, cozy atmosphere. The wings are small, but damn they are good. I ordered 10 wings with bar b que sauce. They were a bit messy, because they didn't skimp on the sauce, but that's what napkins are for. I learned, the next time when I go there, yes I said the next time because there will be a next time and many more after that, I know now to order more wings. The price makes me wonder why I didn't order more the last time. But I will say based on their portions, my wife and I left pleasantly full, we ordered 10 wings each one order of large fries, the fries deserve their own glowing review, and one coke each, next time I'll skip the coke and get stuffed on the wings and fries. Great, very friendly staff. This is the kind of place do not judge it from the outside. The men's bathroom was very clean. You know if the bathrooms are well maintained, that's a good indicator of the rest of the place. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit and my meal. This is one of those hidden treasures you hear tales about, and you think, it was embellished a bit to make it sound legendary. All I say, try them once and you'll see, everything I said is true, no embellishment.

We drive by all the time, today decided to do lunch, we were craving wings so we showed up and we were greeted with open arms by both female servers! Looks like this is a great locals spot too, met a few old timers on the patio, shared stories while we chowed down on Lava, Sweet Chili, Garlic Parm, Hot and fried pickles and green beans! AMAZING flavor and I think this is our new hangout! Love love love it here! Thank you!

Small, but great place to go. It is a bar, but has a kids menu and tables so don't be afraid to bring the hole family. The only thing is that the wings are small, so you are going to have to order a lot of them. The prices are great as well.

This is the only place this side of 75 within reasonable distance for wings that aren't from a pizza chain. Good luck trying to order carry out when they get busy. Never fails, they take the phone off the hook. You'll have to just keep trying till they decide they can handle phone orders. Other than that the wings aren't too bad, sauce has good flavor. Can't wait for Wild Wing Cafe to open up off Emory Rd. though.

My son got take-out and was shocked at how small the wings are. 1.5 inches at most? Skinny and dry. Ridiculous! Cheese steak sandwich wasn't seasoned and the meat was DRY! Their onion rings are amazing though.

Cozy place, but I've seen bigger wings on butterflies. I'm talking baby chicken wings. The flavors are ok. The basket of fries and onion rings were good , and bigger than a 15 piece wings. The best thing might be the 50 wings for $20

I only give a one star because I can't give it a zero. I ordered wings and fried cheesecake .The fried cheesecake was ok. The wings were the worst wings I ever ate. If they were wanting the smallest and most overcooked wings award then they should win .luckily I got half my wings with BBQ sauce to cover up how overcooked they were. Buyer beware. If you must order make sure you get a lot and I recommend barbecue to cover up how dry they are. Nasty

I visited Wings Xpress with a classmate for lunch. They've got a little of everything, from wings to pizza to burgers and sandwiches, and quite a few appetizers. I ordered 10 wings because they had a special deal that let me get 5 more free (definitely cool). The wings were small, but were very affordable. I ordered half of mine in 'atomic' sauce because I love spicy food, the other half in sweet chili. The spiciness was way short of what I expected, but both flavors were still very very tasty. My classmate had a fried bologna sandwich and some fried pickles. The sandwich looked great, and I ate half his pickles. So to make a long review short, if you're in the area, this is a great place to have some lunch.

The flavor of the wings were good. We also got the fried pickle chips, which were very good. The big negative is the size of the wings. I can honestly say they were the smallest chicken wings I have ever seen. They were about the size of cornish hen wings. We ordered a 20 piece, and received about 30, which was nice. But it's mostly skin and bone, hardly any meat on them.

Original Zomato Review 4/8/2017 - On Clinton Highway today and decided to stop at Wings Xpress after reading reviews. Let me say, many of the reviews say the wings are small. Say...large quail? Funny thing is I've always complained the size of the wings at other places - some are so large, they are not cooked through and the skin is often too chewy. So, I'm saying I don't mind the small wings - plus 20 wings for $10, who can complain? The wings and fries come to the table temperature hot - fries are crisp. And, the ranch provided with the celery is thick and creamy, not some watered down junk. Also, they offer lemon and orange slices in the brewed sweetened iced tea. I'd go back.

I had the hot wings and a beer. The wings had a good flavor but were a little on the small side. The beer was nice and cold. From 2-7 they have a happy hour with $2 domestic bottles and $1 off drafts. The staff was very nice and the dining room was clean. I would definitely go back.
