Food is amazing here!! Everything from the chicken, honey biscuits, corn nuggets and strawberry shortcake. I would highly recommend. The staff gets the food to you fast! The food is 5 star. Some of the employees could be a lot friendly and help explain things to you when it’s your first time. The place could use an update and be more clean. I would still recommend coming here for the fantastic food though!

I drove 380 miles to eat here, and I was not disappointed. The food was better than I expected! Freshly made and reasonably priced. The staff was so nice and inviting. Lou even came from the back to meet me and take a photo. Also brought my food to the table. I can't wait to come back!!!!

Chicken was way over-priced, not fresh, the sweet & spicy love sauce is just hot sauce with a little honey... Super thin! The side orders were not seasoned at all. The chicken was tasteless except for the burnt flavor. It was very dark. The tea was so sweet I thought I was going to go into shock. The one good thing is my daughter had their double cheeseburger and she said it was great. I drove over 60 miles from Oxford only to be totally disappointed. I will NEVER eat there again! If I could give it 0 stars I would!

Drove from Houston Texas to experience the best chicken in Memphis. What I got was dry, cold chicken wings and slightly warm fries. Service was fast and people are friendly. Not sure what the hype is about. Chickens not made to order. Not worth the drive

If you haven’t had this chicken and these biscuits, run, don’t walk! I never want any other biscuit! The chicken has perfectly described by Guy Fieri, “first you taste the vinegar, then the sweet and finally a bit of heat”. Next level good!

I would not recommend anyone to eat here. The food is tasteless and absolutely not worth the prices. I came to this restaurant after reading all of the good reviews on google but I along with my family was very unsatisfied. I ordered the monster burger (which is pictured below) the burger was 13$ and didnt have any season on it. The burger was so nasty that I was only able to force down a few bites before throwing it in the trash. Abouslety worst burger I've ever had. I also had the party wings they were mediocre and 13$ for 4 small chicken wings cut on half to make 8 party wings. Total waste of money Do Not eat here

I have been HUGE fan of Uncle Lou’s ever since first time I tried it 3 or 4 years ago. I used to complain about the wait time but the great taste of the chicken was so worth it. I always looked forward to seeing and hearing Lou walking around and the very diverse crowd. But recently things have changed. On a road trip today I was bragging to my sister about the place so we stopped.....mistake!!! I should have known by the emptiness of the place, we were the only customers at 3pm on Sunday. But we ordered anyway. The food came immediately after ordering so we got it and left. Once on the road she tried to eat it and it was old chicken with warm sauce masking it. Her okra was soaked in grease to the point that the container it can in had a tablespoon of it in the bottom. If we weren’t already tired, trying to get home and wasn’t on 240 already they would have gotten that mess back for a full refund. I never write reviews this is my first time. I’m only doing it in hopes some how it gets back to uncle Lou and he restore it back to its former glory

Fantastic food and service! If you're in the Memphis area, it's a MUST! You will not be disappointed. Oh my gosh, not only is the Uncle Lou's chicken, biscuits, and cool-aid amazing but the Chess Pie, Banana pudding and chocolate cake. Yes, I tasted something from everyone's plate. All the food was A-1.

I was headed to Arkansas from Knoxville and was informed by my brother that I must stop by Uncle Lou's. He said they had the best chicken in Memphis. However, I was highly disappointed when I pulled into the lot and there were no customers, customer service was minimal, and my chicken wings were old. I ordered okra as well, and it was greasy. If I had not got this order to go and had not hit the road, I would have requested my money back. Now I know why they had no customers on a Sunday afternoon. I hope they do better.

I was told by locals this is the place for some good Fried Chicken. It wasn't as good as i expected but it wasn't bad at all. Would recommend to try it once.

Fantastic chicken but the biscuits were really good. If I wouldn't have been so full I would have liked to try the biscuit without the honey....the bottom sure tasted like my MawMaw made and that is definitely a compliment!!!

Seedy neighborhood but what a delicious burger/burgers, I have had this in almost every configuration and they absolutely nail it every time. Have never had the chicken because every time I step in the door the aroma of that burger reaches out and slaps me hard saying, "Don't even think about it bro!" Guy Fieri did a great review on this place some years ago.

We decided to stop here on the way of out town after visiting family. Lou's definitely has his own unique spin so leave the preconceived notions about wings at home. Orders are placed at the counter, a ticket# is given and the food is brought to your table. We ordered the homestyle (dry, good flavor) and the sweet, spicy love (served wet) which is exactly like it sounds a bit sweet balanced w/a little heat. Best described as hot wings (w/less burn) that are dipped rather than tossed in a thin sauce of red wine vinegar, hot sauce and honey. Addictive! As a measure of the heat level my Mother who doesn't like spicy food was able to eat these. Note, the wings were a bit small in my opinion. On the other hand, the tenders were a good size and super juicy. The honey biscuits are a must. The wait in the line can be a bit long, but the chicken comes out quick and the staff is friendly. Glad I stopped in and was able to check this off my Memphis bucket list. Pls like if this was helpful.

We are from Louisiana and their chicken is by far the best we have ever eaten. Great spice and sweet all in one bite. They also have fried bologna sandwichs. They are great also. Service is very good and everyone is sooo friendly.

Awesome food. Get the mixed plate if you've never been. But, the sauce is to die for. So, don't be afraid to go all in with the "love" as Lou refers to it. Yes, Lou is right there. He greets you and will probably give you a hug. Be prepared for great chicken. Great hospitality. And, great personality. Just know it is in a strip mall setting close to Graceland and worth walking past the homeless looking guy out front serenading visitors to the parking lot.

chicken was OK but not as crispy as I expected. Sauces were nice and have cool names. The Honey Butter Biscuit was the highlight and only $0.88 each but also come in the combos. We tried the chicken wings and dark meat. Preferred the dark meat over the wings. One of their famous sides are corrupted carrots which are fried baby carrots with seasoning...again just an OK side dish. Fried pickles were nice though

This has been my 3rd time there. The first visit the chicken was Amazing! The second visit the chicken was old and hard. Yuck! Today I decided to give them another shot and I was disappointed! The chicken was fried super hard almost burnt. I sent it back and it literally looked like the same chicken. I ate the parts that wasn't hard and it was good! The sweet tea was good and the caramel cake warmed up was super yummy! The customer service has been excellent each visit!

Fast and friendly fried bird. They also have hamburgers for those not too fond of the fowl. We ordered a mixed 7 piece, allowing us two types of flavor we chose hot and homestyle. Sides for us were corn nuggets and mustard potato salad. All items were thoroughly enjoyed. Uncle Lou himself was behind the counter assuring quailty and consistency. Worth the wait, would return.

Quick friendly service. Food came out hot and seemed to be fresh. A few fries didn't seem to be cooked all the way but wasn't a big deal. Probably won't be back but only because it's about a 30 minute drive.

Omg, this place was everything. We traveled all the way from Dallas, Texas to visit and discovered southern hospitality travels to various places. Soon as we walked in we were greeted with beautiful smiles and hello's. The food was great and seasoned to perfection. Every last one of us left out rubbing our bellies and looking for a place to kick our feet up. I reccomend this place to everyone, go check out Uncle Lou! Thank you again for everything.
