I ordered the breakfast bar which is a buffet. The waitress was sweet. She asked me if I wanted fried eggs or scrambled eggs. They fixed scrambled eggs just for me since it was early and they didn't have eggs ready yet. The cashier was sweet as well.

My wife and I stopped at the one in Kingsport Tn. Last evening and were very disappointed with the food, everything on the food bar was dried out and almost to hard and rubbery to eat. We ended leaveing and stopping and getting a burger.

Good breakfast catch it fresh when they come out to bring fresh food on the buffet. Fruit a little odd tasting. Bacon was brittle a little too crispy and I love it crispy not brittle. They brought fresh bacon in the buffet and it was much better!

Shoneys was good, however we went around 8am for Breakfast Bar and they didnt have everything out for customers, and we asked why to our waitress, she said because they wait until it gets busier in the day to put more food out. After about 20 minutes of eating, they put eggs out on the bar for other customers. Pancakes were amazing. Biscuits were a little hard for my liking, but everything was good.

Not so fresh fruit was mushy, looked as though it was frozen and thawed, tomatoes were same way, shredded hash browns were grease soaked, diced potatoes were hard and dry, other stuff was ok but wouldn't go back for more. Bathroom stalls had non functional locks, men's room had really short toilet but the best part is the toilet seat would move 2" left and right....guess it's not bolted on.....seat slid sideways when I sat and my low back now feels tight. Called corporate, they seamed more concerned over the mushy strawberries than the safety issue of the unbolted toilet seat that quickly move upon my sudden arrival... majority of the customers at shoneys are people over 45, you would think they would have taller or average hieght toilets. . Ironically the music that was playing while I sat on hold with corporate hq for 10 minutes was " highway to the danger zone" . on the positive side, the eggs were fine and chicken fingers were done fine. Waitress was attentive and polite. Restaurant was clean in appearance. I will never tell somebody not to go there however I recommend looking at food bar before making your decision and using your own bathroom. It'll be interesting to see if corporate calls me back, I'll try and update this review if they do........okay, 2 weeks later now, back is stiff still but not unbearable, nobody from shoneys corporate has taken the time to contact me about my call to them in reference to our visit.i very clearly requested a return call after they offered a return call. I Truly don't care what the food was like, the safety issue about there loose toilet seat is a huge issue for anybody. I'll update

The service was exceptional there was a waitress by the name of amanda. She had the patients of a saint and she didnt let the couple frustrate her she stood there for at least 20 minutes explaining everything to them what they were being charged for and what they would be getting I'm writing this review because of that young lady. I've been to alot of different restaurants and eateries and I've only seen that one other time, and I said something to the manager there just like I did at this place. She made the biggest impression on me. I'm from Texas and you dont see that very often. I will be going back to this restaurant due to the services shown. THANKS SHONEY'S FOR HIRING AN EXCEPTIONAL WORKER AND FOR LETTING ME SEE THERE ARE GOOD PEOPLE STILL IN THIS WORLD!!!

Our server was a very nice and polite young man who got my order wrong. Once brought to his attention, he graciously and quickly made the correction. Shoney's is a wonderful place to go for a quick bite to eat or for a full meal. It's a quiet and comfortable place to dine. Food was hot and fresh. No complaints and will be going back next week.

What the heck happened to this place? Shoneys used to be my family's goto for hot food when traveling. Now it reminds me of the school cafeteria. The whole place smells like dirty bleach water. The food was nasty and cold. The waitress was sweet but too busy to keep up with refills. Won't be going back. Ever.

Buffet selections were awful chicken was dry, mac n cheese was looking like it was from the night before. This place has been slowly and slowly getting worse. Wish that I could say that even the food could be saved by a great staff, but it looked like the waitress enjoyed being on her phone more than actually doing her job.

It was okay, but just barely. The buffet was a bit of a disappointment. The so called sirloin "steak" was swimming in what I assume to be beef broth which kept them cooking so they were so well done they were tough and hard to eat. The shrimp were soggy and tiny. Some of the other stuff was okay, but the steak and shrimp were the reason we went. If I could give half a star I would give it 2 1/2, not quite bad enough for 2 but not quite good enough for 3.

We have been going on Sundays after church for years. Several months ago Shoneys changed their chicken for the worst. We asked about it and was told that it didn't happen. It did. Two weeks ago we went and they had changed their fish for the worst. NOT going back.

We were traveling so this was a little off the path for us as we were traveling I-81 south. Best Shoney's we've ever been to. And we've been to quite a few. Worth the extra few miles off the highway. This was by far the worst restaurant ive been to in my LIFE. The only reason it gets the 1 star is because I have to in order to leave a review. Food was disgusting. Should had known better when i pulled into an empty parking lot at 5pm. Food was bland the and crusted from sitting under the lamps for probably Hours. Staff was not very attentive.

Went on Thanksgiving day, was seated at a dirty table. I had to ask for them to wipe it down and they spot cleaned the front half, leaving other sticky places all over the other side. I'm not giving more than 1 star to a place that cant keep clean standards for patrons. Also, food was bland and plain, no salt in anything.

Very expensive and my mother or her friend either one was offered a senior discount. Mom is 74 and he friend is 67. I paid and thought it was taken off, then after leaving and thought about it there was no senior discount. 42$ for 3 dinners a soft drink, a coffee and a water. Food was not fit to eat. Only thing i can say good is the waitress wss friendly.

Starting with the cost of 1 single cup of coffee with no refill 2.49 uh no. The bacon was hard as a brick, not fresh. The ham was much tougher, overcooked. The gravy was so watered down it tasted like water, nasty. The waitress wasn't worthy of a tip. We asked the guy tending the food bar could he get some eggs, it took 22 minutes as 8 people stood waiting on them. Overall very bad experience. Would never go back. The manager did not charge us for any food but it really wasn't worth paying for.

Food was cold... And the manager told me that nobody else complained... Saying/not saying I was making it up. I paid almost $14 for tea and cold food. He did bring me hot mac and cheese and potatoes from the kitchen, but by then, I was basically done. I won't go back.
