This Restaurant corresponds to the category of New American restaurant.
Top 3 Nashville restaurants without question. Menu is just the right size and nothing you don't want. The garganeli may be the best dish in Nashville. Creative cocktails and fun atmosphere too.
Food was charming and quite special with unique highlights on few ingredients in each dish. A bit overpriced for the amount you receive. Otherwise, this place is wonderful on all aspects. Will go back, I just wouldn't go very hungry. After apps, main and dessert w/2 drinks, me and my date were still ready to eat more.
Inventive food, attractive and unpretentious presentation, and a nice cocktail list. One star off for the noise level; the brick walls do nothing to absorb sound and everyone in the place is competing to be heard.
We all had really amazing meals here. I had a truffle pasta that I am still thinking about
The bread is absolutely insane! Must order and the Ricotta angilotti with English peas was outstanding! very reasonable and interesting wine list and fantastic cocktails
Had a great cocktail, a delicious and interesting small plate of kolrabi and turnip greens, and an incredible plate of sourdough pasta. Definitely pricey, but definitely worth it!
Awesome food. This place is in a cool old brick building and has a great atmosphere. The bar is a good place to sit and they make really great specialty cocktails. They also have great spots outside to sit as well. All the pasta dishes are great and the carpaccio is unreal. Definitely recommend!!
Great food service and atmosphere
Fresh ingredients and friendly staff. Portion is on the smaller side and great for sharing. You can’t go wrong with any of their homemade pasta. The green salad really took me by surprise, it’s not your average green salad from other places. This is worth trying. I’m not even a salad person, and I loved it. It has a unique (in a good way) taste, blending the sweetness from sliced strawberries and the slight bitterness from the lettuce, topped with ricotta cheese, and dill. Beef tartare is very good also, it’s more filling than you think!
It is a great experience. We ate outside it was a tad warm. The tea was not a flavor that I cared for. The tomato appetizer was presented well and tasted great. The chicken was cooked well but the flavor was not my style. Service was great. The others loves their entree so it was just an odd night for me.
So lovely. The chicken, tartare, and octopus were so good
This was a fantastic dinner. The pasta dishes were very good and that was really attributed to the handmade pasta and great sauces. Their appetizers are quite good. The cocktails were on point as well. The atmosphere is nice and airy and the place has a nice vibe overall. The service was very attentive and our server was very knowledgeable about the dishes and what each player offered. It seems that you can't really go wrong with whatever you order here and you'll definitely leave satisfied.
Fantastic spot in downtown Nashville. Food is served tapas style with small plates for the table to enjoy and the food is excellent. Drinks and bar were fantastic as well though the featured drinks in the menu were not all that different from each other and I expected a little more on that end. Service was spectacular, best I've ever seen and our guy knew everything.
This was a fantastic experience. The food was beautiful and interesting. Each bite was complex. A must in the Nashville food scene.
Great food - especially the pasta and bread! Prices are quite high, and some of the appetizers are trying a bit hard. So much asian theme that it doesn't really go with the entrees. Liked it better 3 years ago.
Have no idea what this place is. Food seemed kinda weird, communal seating is a terrible idea. Came here thinking it was a Mexican joint, left thinking what the hell
This restaurant is a solid five stars for the quality of food and the service. The heritage pork was succulent and incredibly tasty. The trout was cooked to perfection, just barely done as fish should be. I highly recommend it!
Everyone went out of their way to make our 10th wedding anniversary dinner special. The staff was amazing. We loved the themed cocktail menu- when we went the theme was “Back to School” and the drinks/names were so creative! The food was so delicious. We tried a few appetizers and shared two main courses. When they say they are known for their pasta, they aren’t kidding. It was terrific.
This is an amazing place with great food. The pastas are unique and phenomenal (especially the one with clams they have now). Highly recommend.
Food was good, service was great, but was expensive for pasta.
So glad we picked this place for dinner - visited during LDW from California and I would place this as one of my top 10 favorite restaurants I’ve ever been to! I loved the atmosphere and the outside seating. The food was very inventive and fresh. We ordered a trout dish with roe that was amazing. The carpaccio was so unique and different than other restaurants. The squid ink pasta was amazing - I was so surprised at how much blue crab there was in the dish. The cocktails were excellent.
Nice food, but it was very loud inside. Bit expensive.
Great bartenders, great amaros
Fantastic experience. We had early ish reservations, and were seated immediately. The food was perfect, and the service was great. The space is small, and you definitely get to know the people sitting near you, but no one in the restaurant seemed even remotely unhappy with that. Order anything, just go here.
Greatest pasta experience of your life
The garganelli is the must have dish at this restaurant. Tonight, the chef knocked it out of the park. When I didn’t think that this dish could be better, it was. The right ratio of sauce to pasta, the heat and the temperature of the dish was fresh off the griddle. We had the butternut squash appetizer tonight. For all the foodies in town, you must try this. Innovative, creative full of flavor that burst in your mouth. A true delight and culinary work of art!
Wow is the word that comes to mind after a dinner at Rolf and Daughters. From the service to the wine to the food. And the setting is perfect for a date night in an industrial warehouse with soft candles lit on the table.
This place has the of Nashville Cousins and the best of drinks. I had a great time here and food is really astonishing with awesome environment.
Great smalls plates, delicious comfort food style pastas, great cocktails and bar selection, solid service. Will definitely be back for more!
This was a good meal; not the best in Nashville or anything, but good food. I do think it should be better for the price. Nice atmosphere and good location.
Service was great!. I would recommend the bread being served warm and portions were a bit small but everything was tasty.
Phenomenal staff, food, and location. This chic converted mill has something to meet everyone’s needs, from inventive cocktails to a robust selection of small and large plates. The bar staff were extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of the menu. Fantastic location in Nashville’s ever improving Germantown also. I went with the chicken most recently, a staple since their opening, and came away pleased. The only downside might be their menu organization, no meaningful use of headers and the proteins/small plates are combined for some unknown reason. Still, this is a small drawback for an otherwise stellar experience.
We had the chicken and the seafood pasta. It was great! We didn't have any drinks with ice, so nothing to report on their ice.
This lovely restaurant embodies the Nashville food scene. The ambiance is warm and inviting. The food is innovative and delicious. There was plenty of street parking available for out reservation. However, the restaurant is so unassuming that you have to know what you are looking for or you will miss the building. Don't let this scare you off. Go for a cocktail (or 2) and stay for an unforgettable meal!
Exceptional. Must go.
Great food. pretty good lead time for reservations so book it early. Walk in, is available but more family style seating. Service is still independent with walk in seating. Plates are for sharing, more like Tapas.
Super tasty with unique flavors. Will for sure be visiting again!
This spot is amazing. The food will blue your mind. Each dish is hand crafted to excite your taste buds. Each but has you wanting more. You will find yourself cleaning the plate each and every time. As great as the food is, the drinks are on point. One of the best bartenders in town, Shane. My wife and I find ourselves here all the time. That's never gonna change.
The food and service were great. The cocktails were not as interesting as I'd have liked for the price. Food was all tasty and served timely. Price was on point for the kind of cuisine offered.
This completes the Bon Appetite Top 10 trifecta. Most efficient award goes to Rolf & Daughter's for sure! A smooth operating machine. Plus the food was great as well.
I'm still thinking about the ricotta agnolotti....so delicious!
We ordered the sausage as a starter. It was really good. However, the standard wasn't maintained during the main courses. We ordered the sea trout and the signature pasta (garganeli with pork). Both dishes were waaay to salty.
I can't say enough about this amazing restaurant! I am embarrassed I have lived in Nashville for 6 years and just got around to eating here. The service is impeccable. The vibe in the restaurant is cool. Everything we ordered was exceptional. Each dish was creatively and beautifully prepared. I can't wait to go back! This is seriously the BEST restaurant in Nashville. YOU MUST GO EAT HERE!
I feel forced to give even 2 stars. It was a pathetic example how restaurants are OVER RATED and certainly not one I would recommend to those that love authentic pasta. The service was great. The food was oily && Way too much Garlic. My girlfriend order some long pasta and it was covered in butter with flavor of lemon and black pepper. 26 dollars later, DOUGH with olive oil is only what you get. If travelling from out of town, DO NOT COME HERE
This place was trying to hard to be fancy. Everything is extremely expensive for what it is. The wine list was so obscure on purpose, to charge more without people knowing the true price of the bottle. The food was good but its not like it wasn’t anything I could cook at home.
Wow! Best meal I've had in a long while. Everything was delicious, including the drinks.
great service don't just get the pasta and salad if you're hungry. friends pork overcooked for my taste
Always fresh food and they give you your money's worth even if it is a little high. Staff is really good and I would love to visit this place again.
Have eaten here more times than I can count. Ever time the menu, service and atmosphere impress. The cocktails are always creative and delicious.
Consistently excellent, this is one of our favorite culinary destinations. Servers are always informed, attentive, and affable.
This place is definitely worth the hype. If I could, I'd give it 6 stars just because of the bartenders. When we arrived, we were a little early for our reservation so we sat at the bar and had a drink. We loved the bartender so much that we decided to eat dinner at the bar. We started with the sourdough bread, beef tartare and heirloom tomato and had the bucatini for our entree. Plenty of food for two people
Great food
Don't miss hand rolled sourdough pasta or the sourdough ice cream!
This is absolutely the best restaurant in Nashville. The meal I got was the best meal I’ve ever had and my friend, a bartender, said it was the best cocktail she’s had anywhere. I have no higher praise for anywhere I have ever eaten and I am a major diner.
The menu is filled with inventive dishes filled with flavor served in a fun, lively atmosphere. The citrus salad with fennel is one of the best “salads” I’ve ever eaten. Then came the chicken, I have dreams about this chicken with preserved lemon and garlic confit. The toasted rice mousse is indescribable and just has to be tasted to understand. Gluten friendly and delicious, put this one on your list of must try.
Amazing restaurant. The menu looked rather pedestrian at first glance, but the food that came out was anything but. Unique and delicious twists on many commonplace dishes.
Food so good I eat my weight. Amazing dishes made from excellent technique not gimmick. Definitely a place worth visiting again and again. I can't think of visiting Nashville without thinking of this place.
The food was undescribable, well definitely be going back!!
Depth of flavor of everything is incredible. Our server had great and honest suggestions, no pretention and the whole place had a lovely atmosphere where I could actually hear my friends talk.
perfect pasta!
Stellar food, great service - awesome atmosphere!
Beef shortrib was delicious. Nice atmosphere.
Phenomenal meal from beginning to end. Probably encountered the best server ever, period. It pains me to state that I cant remember his name.
Love the cocktails. Love the wine selection. On my first visit I enjoyed the chitarra w/ clams, chorizo verde, and dandelion greens. WOW.
Excellent and innovative food, but prioritizing good ingredients over technological prestidigitation.
Some of the best and most creative food you'll find in Nashville.
While the food is very delicious and the presentation is wonderful, it is very expensive, except for a couple of entrees that are well portioned everything else is very small portions.
We went here as a gift to our selves and it was worth it! The food tasted as amazing and it looked plated. The bartender even made us custom cocktails for our meals
The menu is forever changing so I get to try things I normally wouldn't think to combine! Always delicious! The staff is beyond knowledgeable and super helpful when deciding dishes! Atmosphere is can be a little loud at times but all in all a beautiful place!
Delicious. Excellent wait staff. Fun food and interesting cocktails. Truly a great experience.
One of our best meals we had in Nashville. Phenomenal bar staff - very engaging. Hip vibe without the attitude - just perfection! Cant wait to come back.
Consistently good, fresh, well made, thoughtfully flavored dishes. The beef tartare is amazing. I wish they'd bring back the bombolini, which was a masterpiece. Their other desserts fall short in comparison.
Great service, The food was exceptional but a little too rich. The restaurant had a great vibe but was a little too open and hard to have a conversation. Will have to try again when it’s not a prime time.
A must go to for unique palette entertainment!
Amazing cocktails, gourmet food and personable staff. World class dining experience with zero pretentiousness. Highly recommend!
We had an awesome dining experience here. The prices are high but if you are looking for a real culinary treat, this is it. Portions are small but so flavourful and actually, they are big enough as the food is rich. We sat out on the patio in the glorious sunshine which added to the whole experience. Our server was very knowledgable of the menu and took plenty of time to explain each item to us which was really appreciated.
Good food. Trendy clientele. High prices.
A bit different from the norm, but in a really good way. Truly unique dishes. Super tasty! Good energy and vibe here too.
People from the don't have to go to NY, LA or Paris to enjoy an exceptional food
Amazing restaurant with super food!
Great waitstaff, food was delicious. Very good attention to detail. Make sure to get bread with main, you don't want to leave any sauce on your plate.
Incredible cocktails. Branson was an excellent bartender and catered to our tastes. Kale salad is out of this world, and pasta is equal in quality to the price. Highly recommend if you're looking for a memorable, delicious dining experience.

Great neighbor restaurant. The weather was such that we could comfortably enjoy the intimate outdoor space
Amazing amazing food and environment. Highly recommend the pasta but everything we had was delicious!
Absolutely one of the best meals of my life here. I think our server was Steve, but I may be misremembering the name. He was awesome and guided us through the menu really well. He was attentive, not overly so but there whenever we needed him. Wine list was fun and had lots for anyone. Looking forward to returning.
Really amazing food and great atmosphere at Rolf and Daughters. I had the chicken and potato dish and really loved both. Service was great as well, Zack was very knowledgeable on the menu and wanted to help me pick the best dishes for me! Will definitely be returning when I am in the area again!
Easily my favorite restaurant ever! Every time we visit we get pretty much everything in the menu to share in a large group. Everything is always delicious and unique. Cocktails are incredible as well!
Distinct craft food experience in Nashville.
This is the best restaurant in all of Nashville. If you’re vegetarian they usually have a bunch of great options. It’s not cheap but it’s worth every penny. Service is great, drinks are great, and well, everything is great.
I lived in NYC for 12 years and have traveled to great restaurant towns, chasing the buzziest chefs, restaurants, cocktails. Rolf and Daughters is among the finest dinner experiences I've had anywhere. Stylish, spare ambiance, professional, experienced staff that is as gaga for food as the most committed gourmand, exceptional cocktails cleverly named, and the food! Reminded me of Batali's early days. Traditional with brilliant updates. Get the more unusual choices, when will you ever find sourdough pasta or rice mousse? The bartender is creative if you want something off-menu. Only wish they had more lavatories.
Incredible experience. The food is from another dimension. This place deserves it's only classification. The sourdough bread they make fresh with a seaweed butter had such a beautiful flavor I can't wrap my mind around it yet. Got to treat my fiance to a valentines day dinner and it certainly didn't disappoint
Everything was excellent.
Really interesting menu. Great food. Engaged and helpful service.
Everything is always delicious and the service to notch!
Fantastic, well crafted, creative dishes including canestri nero with blue crab and little bit of heat from Calabrian chili and unexpected ingredient of thai basil!
Served brisket that was 1/3rd fat. The setting was pretty and our server was great. But the lack of meat in the brisket- that’s all we really remember.
A culinary highlight to our Nashville trip. Some of the best food I've ever had. The dry-aged beef tartar was phenomenal and the chicken entree....do it. I don't normally order chicken at a restaurant, but this is a beautiful exception.
Food is amazing. Definitely somewhere to eat if you're in Nashville. The mushroom pasta is amazing, as is the kale salad. The chocolate desert with the sour cream ice cream may be one of the best things I've ever eaten. It's community seating and can get a bit loud, so I'd recommend sitting at the bar.
What else can be said? This place is the best restaurant in Nashville. Cocktails are super high quality - Food is to die for - Staff are kind and helpful - Vibes are good - Just do yourself a favor and make a reservation!
We were really excited to try R&D! It was good, but not as awesome as we were expecting. We had reservations, but still waited 35 minutes to be seated & the patio were we waited smelled like sewage. Our server, Erica, was great! Our food was good, but we wished it had a little more acid & bright flavors.
It was RAD. The raddest place I've ever been. Rad. Rad. Rad... Rad Rad!
Very cool place. Have to try the short rib for 2.
Great eclectic foods and wine. Lovely night. Great find-
What a charming place! We ate at the bar, and found the bartenders friendly and working hard. The squid ink pasta was so delicious, as was the funghi pasta. Don't miss the sourdough bread for a starter, it's incredible and they bake it themselves.
So good!!! The food was amazing, the service was professional, helpful and accommodating (made alterations for vegan diet)We had Jordan serve us and she was extremely knowledgeable. We all loved the experience; food, ambiance, drinks... would definitely recommend this restaurant!!!!
Had a memorable meal here with work colleagues that well exceeded our expectations. Stuck exclusively to the vegetarian friendly options on the menu and were not disappointed. The kale salad in particular was delicious and well presented, the pastas were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Cocktails were interesting and well-executed. Lastly do not miss the deserts, particularly the ice creams. Highly recommended.
We had a wonderful dinner the bar on Tuesday. We put our dinner in the hands of our bartender/server. Ruben did a fantastic job of pairing dishes with really interesting, unique wines. He then created an improvisational mixologist after dinner drink. Can’t recommend the experience more highly.
Delicious. New sausage dish was very flavorful
Great food. Pretentious hipster waitstaff. Kind of an industry trend these days though.
Flavors are well thought out and complimentary. All the food was wonderful.
Great smoky old fashion, and solid food.
Sat at the bar, and had a great experience. Big fan of the pastas and the cocktails. Cool neighborhood too, much quieter than downtown.
A definitely eclectic establishment with an enjoyable menu of delicious concoctions. Our party of 8 had a great time the other day, a Tuesday night that none-the-less required a reservation. The rigatoni with lamb was out of this world, and several other pasta dishes looked equally good. I found everything a trifle Bland, which was too bad, but I do prefer things on the spicy side.
great food, good staff, hard to get a reservation
Amazing food and great ambiance. Must-try in Nashville.
Josh and I shared our first date at Roth And Daughters about a year ago. The atmosphere, food, service and of course my handsome date made my night so memorable! Besides the authenticity and deliciousness of our food, when thinking back, our waiter Steve played such a special roll in our experience on that first date. He described the food with such passion and exactly like what it actually tasted like. His quirky personality made Josh and I both smile every time he came to our table. Fast forward, we are so happily married! We decided to go back to the very place we shared our first date at Roth and Daughters. We both were so excited when we saw Steve walk up to our table. He was the exact quirky waiter we so fondly remembered! He excitedly describe each item on the menu! We had another magical night! If you have not dined at Roth and Daughters, Josh and I highly recommend it! It is just a truly special place!
Very cool crowd. Fun people watching. Excellent service. Amazing food. Got the beef short ribs - melted in our mouths.
I should not tell people how good this place is .. will ruin it for locals. Fresh ingredients, excellent service and really good food.
Interesting and delicious wines. Thoughtful and delicious menu. Stellar service.
Great, local ingredients drive the menu at this hip standby in Nashville. All of the flavors of the South are present and wonderful without the expected heaviness of the region. The outdoor patio has a nice atmosphere, and the nearby greenery adds to the freshness and feeling of being connected to the local flavors. Service is relaxed yet serious, with a great knowledge of what's happening in the kitchen but in no way forced on the diner.
Some of the best food I've ever tried. Many vegetarian options that were delicious. Service was impeccable.
Absolutely wonderful. Great food and good service.
Fantastic dining experience! The apps, mains, and dessert were all delicious. Get the rice mousse dessert--you won't be disappointed.
Excellent place to grab a bite and a beer in Germantown.
Great staff. Entertaining explanation for menu. Local farm to table. Delicious. Seating is communal. Bit loud but expected. Cavetti is delicious
We sat at the bar and the service was great. The bartender mixed some amazing drinks and the food was fresh and had a homey feel. Must try while in town.
Good friends had booked this lovely place as they knew we love great restaurants. Perfect timing as we'd kinda been bingeing on the type of southern food that helps us overseas visitors pile the pounds on! R&D was a much needed return to culinary sanity! Fabulous to experience some top quality chefs maximising the return on some top quality produce and in some incredibly imaginative ways. When travelling away from home we always like to be introduced to new and unfamiliar ingredients and R&D provided exactly that. The biggest compliment we can offer is that we would quite happily parked ourselves at the table for hours and simply eaten our way through the entire menu! Loved the ambiance of the place and the relaxed atmosphere. Service was generally good, without necessarily being as engaging as it might have been. We're friendly open folk and felt our waitress might have picked up on those cues. No big deal though and certainly didn't detract from an excellent evening! We can see just why it's apparently so popular. Congrats on a fantastic product.
Best pasta and great service
I recommend the chicken and seafood pasta. Cocktails are made with professionalism and taste delicious. Never a long wait if any. Professionalism and service quality is top notch. Highly recommended.
Great food
The menu is a little pricy but well worth it. It's hard to get a reservation (you'll want to call a week or more ahead) but without one there is a long wait. We arrived a few minutes before it opened and were sat right away. A line did form behind us before it opened. They have a number of house cocktails with interesting names. I tried the "Let's get married." It was a bit minty for my taste but otherwise good. The pastas are homemade and delicious. They have gluten free options available for most of their pasta dishes. My favorite is the Garganelli Verde.
Loved the food and had impeccable service even though internet was down. Decor and music also very good — real stereo speaker system bonus if you are in middle of the room. Some community tables here — no worries though, even for me it was fine.
Very unique food pairings. Incredible wine selection, and waiters are very helpful!
This is a neat place full of bartenders that are passionate about the drinks they make. I will definitely be back!!
Dinner was amazing. The drinks were very fresh tasting and well-crafted. The pasta dishes were both overly delicious. Portions were smaller than what I expected for the price, but that's fine dining. Buttermilk coffee ice cream was very well done. A special occasion restaurant for us, but worth it.
This was decidely our best meal in Nashville. It was a warm summer night, with an occasional breeze. We chose to dine al fresco under the fairy lights, and argue over inconsequential technicalities (like friends do) and share our hopes and dreams and fears of being heartless (like friends do). It was kinda perfect. I had made reservations 3 weeks before the trip, but could only get a 5.30pm seating on Friday or 9.45pm on Sunday. And here I was, naively thinking that only New York and San Francisco had crazy restaurant reservation problems ugh. But I'm actually glad we took the early seating, and got to see the light change over Germantown. We loved our eccentric waiter, who rattled off dishes on the menu without coming up for air, leaving us confused of where one dish ended and another started. But for the recommendations that we understood, he was spot on. We started off with slices of watermelon smothered with a thin layer of reduced fish sauce and topped with chopped nuts and lime leaves - very easy, a delicious sweet-savory-fragrant snack; something that I could/would probably make for a party. The pastas were the best part of the meal - my favorite being the sweet corn agnolotti, where each pasta pouch provided a tiny little burst of creamy sweetness that reminded me summer is almost over, and to savor every ounce of it that is left.
Great spot and dinner. Recommended for date night!
Great, creative food and knowledgeable staff. A great place to take a date.
Easily some of the best food I have had in Nashville. A little pricey, but well worth it.
Our daughter told us to go to Rolf and Daughters after she had an excellent experience there two years ago. She was not wrong and we had a wonderful experience. Food and service where beyond our expectations.
Casual and stylish space (though a little loud) with a lively atmosphere and super friendly staff. The dishes are sophisticated and complex but totally unpretentiously served and totally crave-able. The banana ice cream sandwich and the sourdough pasta we're highlights that I'm sure I'll describe to friends in too much detail.
The best meal we had in Nashville, absolutely outstanding! Service and drinks were great too.
If I could give 0 stars I would. My mom and I came from out of town hoping for a good experience. We viewed the menu and although we did not know what half of the food on the menu was, we were excited to try it. I ordered a pasta dish for $22 and there were about 8 little noodles. It was a complete rip off. The pasta smelled like dirty socks. It tasted alright but the smell was unbearable. The service was fine but the food is very different and portions are way too small. If you go expect to order a few dishes which are very expensive.
As a Nashville local-I have been waiting a while to try RaD and I can tell you I was disappointed. The service was great. The portions were tiny and over priced. We ordered the sourdough, watermelon, black kale, pork and corn pasta. The food was average at best and we were not warned of the portion size(tiny). The pork was improperly cooked and was not tasty. The kale was not at all delicious and in my husbands description was “sloppy”. For adventurous eaters, we were very disappointed and will not be back. 180 bucks for 4 folks and we left hungry.
The food and service were great.
This place has been consistently buzzed about for quite some time here in Nashville, but every time I would check out the menu I was deterred. I often am when the choices seem limited and I have to google most items to find out what the heck they are. But this place is worth every raving review. Go with friends and share multiple things to taste, the waiter will help make recommendations. So glad I gave this place a chance, I’ve been telling everyone I can to go ever since.
Food was great. Service was...weird. We made a point of stopping at Rolf and Daughters as part of a road trip, scheduling our driving that day around being in Nashville for dinner here. At the host stand, we said we'd like to sit inside (it was very hot out that night). Despite one hostess suggesting a two top, the other insisted upon seating us at a communal table. Which we don't typically have issue with, except there were at minimum two open private tables the entire time we dined. Then, despite two communal tables with 10 seats at each, they sat everyone the rest of service at our table (there was one couple at the other and 6 people remaining at ours when we left). Two ladies were sat immediately next to us, despite many seats both at private tables, and enough room to space people out. Unfortunately one of them were very sick or something, and coughed incessantly for several minutes from the moment she sat down. I felt bad for her, too, as she probably didn't want to cough all over someone's dinner, but they put her there for some reason. We ordered tea service, which came out as a large pot, with more liquid than fits in a cup. Despite asking specifically asking for a second cup, not "tea for two" as the server repeated several times, in order to not have the tea oversteep and to share a little with my wife, they brought another pot out. I guess the up-sell is more important than the quality of product or comfort of guests. Our food order was not placed correctly. So, we had a salad extra but it was just another little piece of awkwardness. The tartar was excellent, cucumbers some of best we've ever had, and the pasta everything we hoped it would be. Sadly, the tactless service made the quality of the food, and corresponding prices, difficult to swallow. This isn't the first time we visited a highly acclaimed restaurant in Nashville, to be surprised by bad service. One theme seems to be restaurants in this "up-and-coming culinary city" take themselves too seriously.
Food was great. Pasta was solid, chicken was better. $$$
The pasta here is amazing. I had the spaghetti and it was perfectly al dente and delicious. Half a Michelin star worthy. Dessert was not too impressive.
Very trendy restaurant in Nashville’s Germantown! While at times it felt like I was dining in a comedy sketch parodying a Williamsburg-Brooklyn-esque restaurant, everything was delicious and delightful. Great urban-farm-to-table creations, lovely cocktails, cool ambience. If you want to treat yourself to a nice dinner while in town, this is a great option!
