Pancho's is simply a locals favorite. We grew up on this stuff and we need it. Very friendly servers. I would like to mention Jennifer's name in particular. She provided us excellent service. The building does look outdated. But to be honest it's in my heart and I hope they never change a thing.

The best cheese dip in town, hands down. That alone is worth 2 stars for this Memphis staple. Unfortunately, the prices keep going up, and the quality keeps going down. The chips have changed to a heavier chip. Where the old ones tasted like they could have been made in house, these new chips are definitely bulk purchase from the lowest bidder. The beef lacks any seasoning or flavor. With the variety of food we ordered among the table, we expected certainly +something+ would have some flavor. But, we all felt that everything was just bland. The staff is super friendly and awesome. The service is fast, and the plates aren't as hot as the sun. So that's all a plus.

I have been eating here for years. It is my favorite Mexican restaurant! I typically order the Acapulco so I can have left overs for the next day! If Im going for lunch I go to the "to go" place around the corner. Same menu but less expensive than eating in the main dining area and different specials! The main dining area also has party rooms!

If you’ve never been here, you’re missing out !!!Pancho’s is a local favorite spot of mine. I have nothing but great things to say about the food and drinks. The staff is excellent and friendly. I only have one problem with my last visit. The server I had Mary was less than friendly and had a poor attitude. She seemed to be irritated with the world and it showed. All in all Pancho’s deserves 5+ stars and I’ll keep going back and hand pick my server. The famous Pancho’s cheese is awesome!!

It has been a long time since I have been here. The food is about average for most Mexican food. The place is clean and well decorated. I did think the lunch service was slow, but it was crowded. The server was nice and overall i do not regret the visit.

We had a dirty Santa party there. The service was good. As far as the restaurant, it needs a lot of rehab. The party room was disgusting. Ceiling tiles are out of the ceiling. Stains on the walls and ceilings. Cleanliness is definitely an issue. The cheese dip is always good. The food was disgusting. It tasted like they went and bought it out of kroger's freezer and threw it in the microwave too long. I remember back in the 80's it was really good. Not sure who owns this now, but they are cheap, when they don't put money back into it. Health dept. needs to go in the party rooms and inspect. My advice find another place to eat.

Tiana is very rude ! I come here often , and she’s always the cashier and she has a very disgusting attitude and personality. The food was great, but they forgot my taco sauce... I've never walked away from a Mexican meal, I left 1/2 my meal at the table. Beans were dry and crusty. Spinach and cheese enchilada tasted fishy. Taco could have come from Taco Bell. UCK !! Oh their cheese dip is great but I can buy it at Kroger so I won't be back!!!

My family has been coming here for years and we always have a good time with good food and good company! Our favorite waitress is Miss Mary. She's been there for years and is a joy and a pleasure to be around. We recently hosted a birthday party here in one of their party rooms. They took great care of us and we wanted for nothing.

This place has been around for ever. There used to be several other locations around town but now just this one on summer Avenue or 1 across the bridge in West Memphis Arkansas. The food is good and the service is always friendly. Really can't ask for more than that. I love their cheese dip, Although I think it's better when warmed up. I like to buy it at the grocery store and warm it in the microwave. Either way it's tasty. When on summer Avenue and looking for Mexican this should probably be your 1st and only choice.

I just stood in the front entrance for 10 minutes without being acknowledged. Not due to being busy; but, due to lack of customer service. At one point a server even came up front.....to grab a ticket book. Didn't even acknowledge us. Very disappointing. Please hire some new employees whom actually want to work. Pancho's has always been a favorite, instead we're at Los Comales tonight.

Our waitress was wonderful! Frozen margaritas were excellent! And the chips were really fresh. We miss the cloth napkins and warm cheese dip. Nostalgically speaking- we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. Spinach quesadillas were made with fresh spinach.

We go everywhere in Memphis to eat. We have come across some really messed up restaurants. But we go to Pancho's Friday 8/9 OMG!!!!!, the best!!! It started from the hostess to the guy in kitchen to our server!!!! Food do good hot, and on time Honny. I mean the Mexican Pizza make you wanna ride a mule to Taco Bell and slap the kitchen crew because we clearly been missing out!!! Our server, pretty, sounded like Michel'le and her service was excellent!!!!!! We will definitely be back!!!!! I give all of them 5 Stars!!!!!! I'm do mad at Taco Bell

We didn't eat here today. There were a lot of people in the lobby waiting to be seated. One of the customers stated she had been waiting for her food for an hour. She asked if someone could please just go get it. The hostess said okay but didn't move or ask anyone to go check. We decided not to eat here because on the chaos in the lobby

Good food, bad staff. We were greeted by a "hostess" who might as well been at a Memphis Burger King as she had nothing to say to us - not even a hello or a welcome - and had a an expression which said she was angry at the world. Then we were seated and, it seemed, forgotten. The table was dirty, including empty packets of sweetener from the previous customer. We were at long last brought chips and dip - with no water or anything - just chips and dip to munch on (or choke on since there was nothing to drink). Then someone finally took our actual drink and food orders. He was nice but slow and lacking in server skills. We had to ask for everything, including refills. Two stars instead of 1 because I like the green sauce and the nostalgic decor.

They not only serve the chips and dip as a start up appetizer but they serve the queso too, which usually comes with a hefty price at other eateries. The food was good & the server was great. Been fan of Pancho's for years!! Moved away but anytime back in area, I would always try to go in. I've recently returned to the area and met friend there today for late lunch. Our server was Mary. She was very friendly and efficient. Our food not only looked good , it tasted great. Parking was good. There was no wait and we were waited on promptly. Was very happy and satisfied.

((Please read until the end)) I have been coming to this restaurant for as long as I have been alive, always great food and friendly service. For the first time in years I choose to do a takeout. The host was friendly and so was the manager. Didn't take long and my food was ready. I get home and the bag of chips that comes with my meal are expired by a month! I worked in the food industry, I know that I'm open chips keep a shelf life for a while and most places stock up on these often depending on how fast they sell them. Well....you might want to restock some of your items because these chips where made over a year ago and they are just now getting sold a month after the expectation date. I love you ponchos but what happen? You guys use to be so good with your food! Please, bring back the old ponchos from my childhood.

Despite the crowd of people in the front and being told there was a 20 minute wait, the restaurant was surprisingly only half full. They immediately brought individual chips, salsa, and cold queso to each of us. A friend doesn't eat sauces and condiments due to lots of allergies so they are particular to ask for everything on the side and yet, their appetizer arrived with an announcement that the kitchen didn't listen and the sauce on it. After asking to have it remade, what we later found out was the manager came by our table and made the comment "I wish you had said something" to which I responded "he did!" and the waitress verified it in front of her. The entrees arrived immediately after and the friend's entree was wrong. At this point he wanted nothing more to eat and ask for the manager (not realizing it would be the same person who blames him for not ordering right). And this is the kicker......the manager threw the server completely under the bus basically in front of her! She explained the server is always having issues and probably didn't ring it right......as the server dropped napkins off to us and refilled drinks. So the overall rating is a 2 and that's being generous and really based off my meal and the fact that I did bring my leftovers home. I've never had a brown gravy on a tex-mex dish so I got it on the side but it wasn't bad....just different. And finished the drink even though it wasn't strong at all for a margarita.

You're going for one of three specific things: cheese dip, pineapple quesadillas, or tamales. It's the oldest Tex-Mex in Memphis, which means the building itself is interesting, just beware that sometimes it feels like you're getting food from when they opened so many years ago or served by someone who started when it first opened. Be prepared for a wait.

I'm a longtime fan of Pancho's from back in the day. I first went to the Union location in the 70s. My son (now grown) and I went to the Pancho's locations on Union, Elvis Presley, Stateline, and downtown. I'm saying, I know Pancho's. Today I decided to try the Summer location. I got here before 4:00 PM on a Friday, thinking it wouldn't be busy and I could read my book. My fault, but I accidentally entered at what must be the "take out" door. The two women working behind the counter ignored me. When I asked where I should go to be seated, they looked at me but didn't reply. The customer explained it to me and pointed me in the right direction. Once I entered, two different women didn't answer my question about where I should go to be seated. One of them eventually showed me to a seat, while reminding me that I got it wrong. The middle aged woman who served me was fine. But the only other customers in here were served by a very loud young man. He wouldn't shut up, wherever he happened to be - yelling my waitress' name from the kitchen. He sang loudly to the terrible music. A Mexican place shouldn't play off-key Christmas pop songs. The male customer mentioned the weather and took out his phone. The waiter sat down beside him, saying "Let me see that radar." My food came close to being awful. I got two enchiladas - cheese/onion and chicken - with rice and beans. The orange cheese that coated everything had the texture of rubber. The enchiladas were not as full as they used to be. My regular frozen margarita with salt tasted like oranges (should be lime) and the salt was sparse. Salt isn't expensive, so why not give me a little? The usual two dips were ok. The cheese was the correct texture but the salsa must have been watered down. I buy it at Kroger all the time and it's just like I remember. My waitress went on break near the end of my meal. There were three customers, only one of which was hers. What's she taking a break from? On the way out, I went to the restroom, which is near the entrance. I could smell the deodorizer from afar. There were two stalls, one of which didn't close, much less lock. I was stuck with that one. Great - door doesn't function and no toilet paper. I won't be bringing my son here for old time's sake!

We got there 1 hr before closing and that's not a good time to go. Our server Unyong seem like she was ready to go home instead of waiting on us. She brought us our drinks and after she brought us our food we didn't see her again until she brought us the check. Also while we were eating a guy came and starting removing the condiments from the table. I'm assuming they wanted to go home if ur clearing the table while the customer is eating. The food was just ok. It has tasted better but I guess with it being late they didn't care how the food was prepared.

I went to Pancho's last Friday night, June the 28th. My sister and her friend were there as well. My sister was unhappy with chips and cheese dip. She frequently goes to Pancho's as much as I do. I ordered the chicken taco salad. It was good but had too much lettuce on it. The ice tea was good. The food server was nice but I felt as though I was being rushed. The food server offered no suggestions with our meal.

I am impressed to see Panchos reaching out to unsatisfied customers like myself. I have been eating at Panchs my whole life and have loved it. In fact, the Mexican rice is my favorite and the first thing I ever ate there as a child. I had not eaten there in many months and decided to take my daughter and mother as a surprise treat. The service was great, very friendly and upbeat staff. But the food was very disappointing. It did not have much flavor and did not taste fresh. We tried to eat and give it a fair chance. None of us could even eat half of our food. It just did not taste good at all. I offered to ask our waitress to return our plates and try a new dish, but honestly we were afraid it would not be an improvement. Unfortunately, I have been hearing the same complaints from other people during this past year. On a positive note, the dip and chips were tasty. They were the highlight of our meal. If the quality/ taste of the food were improved, I would definitely be back to give it a try. I've always loved Panchos and hope to love it again.

Food needs to be revamped , and modernized as well as the returaunt, it would have gotten one star if the margaritas werent great. The white cheese dip is thin , lacks much flavor other than microwave. Salsa taste like someone just put hotsauce and tomatoes together. Lack of imagination, passion what wver u want to call it the people who enjoy ponchos are either drunk or lack taste buds .

Home of the best cheese dip on the planet plus so much more. This Memphis house of fine Mexican food has been around for more than 50 years. The menu offers more than just tacos, the shrimp Veracruz is amazing and I recommend trying all the casseroles. Best option is getting a mix and match your way. Dont skip the margaritas or the super sweet sangria. If you have a large group, bring them they can handle it.
