I'm currently pregnant and was craving chicken and dressing and couldn't find any anywhere, so finally we came across this beauty of a restaurant and they had some. They closed about 45 minutes after we called and it was a 27 minute route to get there. So we packed up and went. We got there and the sweetest lady at the front counter had set me aside a whole plate of chicken and dressing just to be sure I got me some. Not only was this the best customer service, but the chicken and dressing tasted just like my grandma used to make it, and that's hard to do.

The food us good. However my wife and I went yesterday after church only to see after we had eaten they raised there price for Mother's day $9.00 per person. They had a small sign posted on the swing back door has you enter the dining area. We go there almost every Sunday. Unfortunately we will not be going back. I feel they could have had the price increase posted in a more visible place. Happy Mother's day to the owners wife.

Best fried chicken I have ever had! Service is great, and we have been there 5-6 times now, selection is limited, but each item is cooked to perfection. Would love to see something different available, I've only seen them do the same 2-3 meat options. Price is fair for good quality.

Amazing selection of delicious food. Neat, clean environment. Dining room feels like your eating Sunday dinner at grandma's house. Attentive staff. Reasonable price for the quality and quantity of food available. Can't forget the selection of food on the smorgasbord. Fried fish and chicken. Creamed chicken as well. Corn, green beans, carrots, okra, white beans, and Liam beans. The salad bar is stuffed as well as the dessert bar. Apple Cobler, peach cobbler and banana pudding. The Apple fritters are amazing. These , believe it or not, are just a few of foods offered. Highly recommend a trip to Hermitage House Smorgasbord!

As a vegetarian I don’t feel like I can accurately rate the food here. My husband said the fried chicken was incredible. The meatless sides were fine. All of this is irrelevant because I found two separate hairs in my food. Deducting one star for each hair.

Anyone with food allergies or who plans not to eat when attending an event in their private rooms, Please do not eat at hermitage smorgasbord. Never in my life have my mother and I been treated so poorly in a restaurant by a manager. We went today for the ladies class dirty Santa Christmas gathering. I am unable to eat the food they have because it's a buffet and being gluten free they had hardly any foods for me. We figured it would be fine to get a drink and just visit. We full well expected to pay for our drinks. The waitress knew up front we would not be eating but failed to tell us the 10 dollar min. Policy until after we got our drink. There was a sign on the door that pointed this out. The door was open and the sign unable to be seen when we came in. We asked if they do anything and she spoke to the manager who reported to her no. I asked what the 10 dollars covered and was told plates, silverware, insurance, and that he had spent 5000 on something recently. We took up no space or time in their dining room as we were in a private room that had been paid for. Every one else in our large group paid 16.95 for the rather small buffet. When we went to pay our 20 for the two teas, the manager asked how we were and we said we weren't happy to pay that for two drinks. He got very rude and said it was to pay for carpet cleaning, insurance, and the room ( which he did say was paid). I said everyone in our party paid 16.95 a piece. So its 10 for a drink and 6.95 for food? He could not answer me. Instead he got ugly. I said we wouldn't come back and nor would our families and I'd be sure to leave a review. He got out his phone and threatened a lawyer. You cant sue over a very honest, bad review. I would not have gone had I known this nor would my mom. NO customer should ever be made to feel this way. Not to mention, they never offered to accommodate my need for gluten free anything. The manager made an ugly scene in front of many people including customers. I'd say his poor actions cost him more than the 10 dollars a piece he charged us for nothing but tea.

The worst Buffet. Totally and edible. Overpriced for any Buffet. I could have gone to a nice restaurant been waited on hand and foot and gotten real food. Not only was the buffet lacking in quantity of food available, the quality was horrible. The food temperature was unsafe. It was awful. Do not waste your money or your time. The positives are the servers are very pleasant and kind and at first glance the restaurant is clean but it is not actually clean when you look beyond first glance.

Waaaaay over priced for low quality food $70 for 2 adults and 2 kids. Worth about $25-$30. Shoney’s is way better for 1/2 price. Only reason I gave the 2 star was because of the desserts.

It was a good meal. The fried chicken was great and so was the pecan pie. Everything else was pretty good. The decor, music, and food selection was straight out of the 80's. I felt like I was time warped back to my childhood going out for Sunday lunch with grandma. I will definitely eat here again, and I recommend this place for families. All the food is straightforward and easy on the tummy.

Just attended a baby shower and they did not have enough hot food. No ribs, had to make more instant potatoes, no meatloaf, and they had to warm up more frozen fish. They ran out of desserts and we were told they weren't making any more. (They finally put out more banana pudding) Fortunately, there was a cake provided by the host of the shower, which was not provided by the restaurant. To add to the insult, the woman acting as manager, insisted there was food. I felt bad for the host of the shower as she was beyond embarrased. I hope she was compensated by Hermitage for their poor planning.

Wow! This is buffet style only. Lunch buffet was $14, including the drink. It was worth the money. Great home cooking, gradma's kitchen style food. The best meatloaf I have had in a VERY long time!! They also had carrot raisin salad. I haven't seen that since Chic-fli-a got rid of it. The other meat choices were fried chicken (yum) and real chicken and dumplins! They had black eyed peas and mashed potatoes and gravy... and more. For dessert they had blackberry cobbler and peach cobbler. I swear someone's grandma is in that kitchen! The peach cobbler was fresh and oh so good that I forgot to take a picture!

I was looking for a good southern buffet while traveling through Nashville. I went in to pay first and the owner was very happy and helpful! She told me to eat as much as I could because I was skinny. I told her to wait and watch. :) All the food was cooked to southeren perfection and I gladly had 3 or 4 plates! The dessert was excellent and the service was great throughout my meal. If you're on a diet, this place is not for you! This is a good, bold, home-like southern cooking all the way! Glad I stopped by, and I'll be back on my next trip through the Music City!

Stopped hear on a tour for a quick meal. A southern buffet with a cute charm to it. Was only $12 for lunch when on a tour. Salad bar, hot foods bar, dessert bar and icecream freezer. Meal also includes a soda, water, sweet tea and lemonade. If you need to go somewhere quick, this is your place. But food was only ok. Best items were the fried chicken and the corn bread.

Oh my God, this was such an experience, I'm speechless. That place literally was a funeral home, you can hear the spirits whisper in your ear. It was a scary experience and I recommend you bring holy water with you and pray you dont die, it also smelled like the bottom on an old ladys purse, so good luck with that. Also the food sucked.

Wow! This was my first visit here and it was awesome! We were greeted and welcomed as soon as we arrived. I've never seen a smorgasbord with so many meats on it. They had fried chicken, ribs, shrimp, meatloaf and fish! The food was great! The ambiance was friendly and heart warming. I felt like a part of the family.
