This Restaurant is included in the category of Hamburger restaurant.
The restaurant isn’t very clean and the restrooms are terrible. The tiles are slippery with urine and water. They charge for water, force gratuities, and add a surcharge for using a card instead of cash. It also took forever to get a single order of fries. My fries had clearly been done for a while and were cold when I received them. I’m never coming here again and I recommend that others stay clear!!!
I've lived here since '99 and hadn't made it to Dyer's until 2019. Why on Earth did I wait so long? I had a single cheeseburger and fries. Dyer's earns a solid 8 out of 10 burgers from me. I wasn't disappointed at all, and plan on coming back sooner rather than later.
Best burger in America! And their wings are tasty too.
We ate here because it was recommended by a friend but I have to say, this is one of the dirtiest restaurants I’ve ever been to. I was too scared to go into the restroom cause of the smell coming from out side of the doors. The floors and tables were filthy. Food is mediocre and way overpriced, not to mention the 18% tip that they tack on for horrible service. We paid $68 for 4 combos, never again.
Excellent food, friendly staff, and a unique atmosphere that simply screams Memphis Culture. I came here on a trip and I was very pleased, although my mother wasn't able to get her chicken unseasoned which was a little unfortunate. But I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Burger came out a little cold but the flavor was there. They dont toast the bun which would really bring it up another level. I enjoy the novelty of eating a burger fried in century old grease but besides that it's an average burger.
Greasy burgers and fries. Awesome!
I love it go every time I go on Beale st......
The burgers were amazing. The wait was too long for the number of patrons. Just had to try a burger cooked in 103 year old grease. If on Beale Street ...stop in.
To die for.
Just left this establishment. We were told we could not be served unless we were all on one ticket. Granted we traveled together, but we were planning to sit separately as there are different families. I've never been so disappointed. I don't think this is a way a business on Beale Street operates. What it appears is that the "workers" didn't want to work today when they saw us enter. That's okay, there are others great places that were more than happy and willing to serve us.
I have had some good burgers but this place rocks.
Great burgers!! $5 cover charge at night, but then it is credited back when you pay for your meal.
Great service and atmosphere. Not too costly for why you get and food is great. No complaints and will return should I find myself in Memphis again!
The burgers are always excellent! The best part is the chili and cheese on the fries.
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! We went last night to Dyer’s to try to eat and couldn’t because their security said we had to pay $5 to get into the restaurant, we get a ticket, give it to the waitress, and then they will take $5 off the meal. Sketchy but we didn’t have cash on us. He told us to go to the atm. We weren’t going to pay a $5 atm fee to get $5 out. Tonight we had water in our cups that we were walking around with and walked in and before we could even ask if we could order something TO GO a girl told us to get out because we had outside drinks. We tried to let her know we wanted to just place an order and then we would be leaving and she interrupted us telling us to get out. We eventually ended up getting food at one point and it was terrible. Don’t waste your time here and go find another burger joint!
Waitress are very friendly and food was very good. Didn't have to wait long for food. Best burger and fries anywhere.
This place has a lot of History in the city of Memphis, TN. The truly, actually deep fry the hamburger and have for years. They have never changed the grease. It sounds gross but taste great. Fun atmosphere. Great place for locals and visitors from out of town alike. The milkshake and fries are good too. The staff is friendly and welcoming to everyone. The place feels like you stepped back in time to the 1950s. Not just the decor, but the feel of the place. Stop by and try this place if you like a good greasy hamburger. I you like to eat healthy or "clean" then this place is most likely NOT for you. But if you just want a sinful treat ... this is the place.
Throw back to when good food and good service was the norm...
Best Burger I've had in a restaurant
I wouldn't even give them one star. But it was the only way to write this message. It is disgusting to be cooking in 90 year old grease. I don't care what you do to it that you call saving it. It can make you sick in so many ways.
Must try! Very good burger different taste from your average burger restaurant
Last minute stop befote closing and everything was great server was very pleasant
Not many options, but it was pretty delicious. And of course, world famous!
The milkshake was good but you find better ones for the same price on Beale Street.
Well the very very very greasy burger made my husband and son very sick. Once my chicken sat a minute in my paper it wasn't too bad. The atmosphere is pleasant but I won't return. We enjoyed Beale street tho.
Omg, u havent had a burger until you have had Dyers...no matter how old they claim the grease to be..lol
My cousin and I went 09/20/19 had a wonderful experience!! We ordered cheeseburger and fries and fried peanut butter and jelly sandwich. All was delicious. The service was extremely nice and professional. The restaurant was clean too!! We will go back soon I hope!!
Good Friday long weekend. 9$ hamburger was a McDonald's 1$ value menu burger. Thin patty. Cold white bun. Worse burger I've had in years. Milkshake? " Sorry, no milk". Really? Someone couldn't run to the grocery store.
I've been hearing about this place for a long time and finally had the opportunity. The burgers were pretty good, very juicy and I loved the cheese that they put on. The fries on the other hand were just ok, their flavor seemed a bit off it maybe old. Maybe I'll get the chicken tenders and onion rings next time. They really have that 50's hamburger joint feel.
Authentic looking diner. Double burger and cheese combo was tastey, if rather greasy, but perhaps this is what gives Dyer's burgers their taste? Worth a look if you're after an experience rather than just cuisine.
The story behind it made it neAt. Burger with onion rings was really delicious. I’ll definitely go again when I’m back
Negative 5 stars!!!! The food was sooooo nasty! They got my order wrong and didnt even offer to fix it! Service was horrible we had to scream across the room for refills!!!!
Burger was good but the fries seemed oddly sweet
I gave this five stars do to the staff. The place was packed and only two servers on duty. The servers were incredible. I do believe management expects far to much from their employees. They should have more than two servers for a lunch rush.
Great food and great service
Great burgers and it's all in the grease Check it out!
Sooo grease don't really liked so much but is a traditional place to go
Neat place for a burger. Had to try it.
some of the best burgers ever. planning a return trip to memphis, mostly to eat here again.
Service was good. Burger was less than average. Disappointed as this was on the list of "must do" in Memphis. Taste like Krystal's. Ijs
We went today after hearing such good things about this place, and was really disappointed. Bathrooms were at best disgusting. Placed our order and after an hour of waiting for our burgers decided to just pay for our drinks and leave. I would recommend McDonald's over this place.
Great service and good burgers
Claim to fame of using the same grease to fry their burgers for over 100 years makes for a perfect greasy burger! Very tasty.
Really pricey for the tiny amount of food you receive. Burger was just okay. Ordered onion rings and only received 5 small onion rings. Disappointed.
Delicious burgers! Fast, made right in front of you. Friendly staff and fun atmosphere. Make sure to try their shakes as well!
Was told kitchen closed at 10. We got there @ 9. Proceeded to give us a laundry list of items not available. When we said we were ok, they seemed a bit disappointed. The next few customers that came in around 9:20 were told the kitchen was closed. Not like I'll be coming back to this town any time soon, but maybe I can let the next fellow know that the burgers, employees, and service are better at the next stop.
My favorite ole time burger shop! I travel 4hrs just to enjoy this fantastic eatery!
The burgers were good but the drinks were tiny, especially for the price of three bucks. It's first come first serve seating so it's uncomfortable eating while people are standing over you waiting for you to leave. The service was less that stellar.
I was disappointed. Very greasy. Grilling would be much much better. Fries would be better of regular size cut.
Great n greasy, original taste burgers, loved em. Fries great too. Got the most popular double cheese burger plate. Yummy.
Probably one of the best burgers and onions rings I’ve ever had.
Double meat and double cheese. Fries really are delish. Very crispy, fresh, seaspned very well. Burger is very good, classic diner style. Loved this!
My husband has been telling me about this place for 15 years. I finally got to go this weekend. Great burger, they don't call it vitamin G for nothing
One of the best burgers I've ever had. They are cooked in grease that has been strained and reused for many years. A must stop during your visit to Beale St. Milkshakes are wonderful too!!
Waitress was super friendly and the food was very good. Prices are reasonable. Will be back of ever in the area
I'll actually give them a no star rating! Not one! Service was lousy. My order was missing fries, which came 15 minutes later when I had finished the littleassed burger. They do not do tomatoes or lettuce. (?) The fries were overcooked to the point of crispy. This was an atrocious culinary experience that will not be repeated. Dryer's Burger is not worth the expense!
Didnt get a burger but my daughter and I shared the chicken strips and they were amazing!!!! Great service as well!!! Would def go back just for the food!
It was a bucket list place to go. Burger was good. Best I ever had? I wouldn't say that. Fried PB&J was great!
The patty is White Castle type thin and the fries suck, but the flavor of the burger is awesome.
The best Diner we visited! Amazing waitress kept us in order! Yummy onion rings
Best burger I believe I ever had ...life hasn't been the same since I left Memphis
It's ok didn't think it's worth the price.. not much to say good or bad about the place
Most of the staff is rude.. Our server was excellent though she stayed firm and did her job... Food was delicious
Great burger, restaurant not clean at all. Bathroom was nasty....very nasty!
Food was decent we mainly ordered shakes and they were okay
Great burgers. Good beer.
If you're at all health conscious, avoid this restuarant. If you want a burger that's so sinfully, shamelessly good, then this is the place for you. Set on Beale across from Handy Park, this old school diner serves up some of the best burgers in the city.
Good was ok, not fantastic. Make sure you take I'd with you or you only be drinking Coke
It was good fast service. Not all that is hyped up to be though.
Service was good Food was ok
Great greasy, beefy tasting hamburger. The fries were good too.
My husband and I loved this place! Great burgers! We had dinner there two nights in a row! The burger is nothing like I've had anywhere else. It's greasy but it was absolutely delicious. I hate pickles on my burgers but this place made me love them! The people who work there were very friendly!
Very clean establishment with an electric retro ambiance. I was greeted with friendly service, and the food was served to me in no time. Not many toppings available for my burger, but it was it a good tasty burger and fries for the price.
I would give 5 stars had the waitress done a good job. The food was good even though they messed my order up. I feel that's on the waitress.
Came here just to sample a burger and see what the hype is about... got a double double and was NOT disappointed! Honestly maybe the tastiest burger I've ever had! It's not artisan or anything like that, but its greasy and the combination of ingredients just make it sooo good. Definitely coming back next time I'm in Memphis.
Redheaded waitress was very rude, for the price e, I believe there were more pickles than meat in the burger. Will not be back.
Great burgers, the people working are nice and helpful and it's right on Beale St, well worth the stop if you're walking around enjoying downtown Memphis.
Greasy and delicious.
Good food, little slow in service but that's due to the way the burgers are made.
Went on a referral that the place was awesome. The meat itself of the burger was great. The lettuce and tomato? Well, they dont offer that stuff. Its mustard, onion, and grease. THATS IT.. service was mediocre.
Burger was great & juicy, with great melty cheese! The fries are also great. They have that McDonald's like softness inside & feel like they melt in your mouth. This would make a great hunger run, as well as a post-nightout drunk food!
Poor service, waitress was rude. My burger was cold and super thin it was lost in the bun. Fries were cooked wsy to hard. I am not sure what all the hype is but will never come back!!
It's an excellent location, they were friendly, they serve you right away, and the food arrived fast. The atmosphere I thought it was cute, it was like a back in time to the 50's
hot and fresh very cheesy love it right on Beale ST
A good, greasy Memphis fast food burger.
Good greasy food...I mean that in a good way.
Nice retro atmosphere and a fairly friendly staff. In my opinion, though, the burgers and fries just aren't worth the price that you have to pay for them. The single combo is a 4 dollar meal with a 10 dollar price tag. Best burger in Memphis? No. Not even the best burger on Beale.
Burgers were very good. Onion rings were pretty great, but overall a good lunch.
Food was okay. Waitress was extremely rude and rushed us at everything we did. She was very annoyed that we were there. Definitely not worth the hype.
The French fries were really good but I've had better burgers. Wasn't bad though and overall good experience
Good but burgers are too greasy.
Best burgers in Memphis. Old school. No frills. Just good food.
Excellent place. The burgers are amazing. It's busy so expect to wait a bit but it's well worth it.
Great place. Staff was superb. Pricing were one neck of a deal. Best burger I have eaten in my entire life. It has created an addiction for me. I drive over 3 hours just to go here.
HISTORIC ESTABLISHMENT CHEAPEST MENU ON BEALE STREET OPEN LATE LATE LATE LATE NIGHT
Amazing burger spot with the burger being cooked in a bat of grease which is never changed.
The Food Was Great
Excellent place. The burgers are amazing.
Great food and service
The shakes where great and the chicken tenders are amazing and huge
Be careful if using a credit card.. I was charge for my meal 36.88 including tip .. got an email from my bank next morning, she ran another charge of 6.14 without me knowing it. Called the bank stating fraud and will call manager. Half a mind to call the local news and let them know dyers is running customer cards at night..
Great, greasy burger and delicious hand cut fries! If I was rating based solely on the food, I might have given it a 5
Our server’s name was Chyna and she was extremely rude and scary. We had gotten the wrong food and they acted as if it was our fault. Overcharged us $12 as well. Do not recommend. Worst restaurant experience.
Definitely one of the best burgers you'll ever eat!
A must go to historic burger place on Beale Street!
Went here on a Friday night. Relatively busy place. Ordered the regular cheeseburgers, fries and coke. Everything was okay. I’ve had better burgers before for sure. The place however is not clean. Tables are not clean, ketchup, soda everywhere. Bathrooms haven’t been cleaned in months. Lets home somebody inspects the kitchen...
Food was good. Service? Sad. Someone needs to clean this entire place!!! Bathrooms we're awfully nasty. Left a $20 on a $40 bill tip anyway. Visiting from Michigan.
I wanted my family to try this place, but we were honestly disappointed. We all grew up on hamburgers from a local joint that taste just like these...and they don't cost as much as Dyer's. We all tried the double double. It was just ok, not worth all of the hype.
Awesome grease burgers! Fresh meat smashed and dropped in a vat of million year old bubbling animal fat... order the double double and thank me later
Great food and service.
This was one of the top picks for my visit to Memphis this weekend. The burger was fantastic, the fries great, root beer float awesome. Food and service enjoyable. The bathroom was destroyed, I tried not to touch anything.
Food tatsed ok I guess. Portions were small for the price. Service was poor.
Not bad. Prices are decent. Service was quick and friendly
We had a few drinks there. Very nostalgic. Enjoyed it.
Place was good not great, pricey but not eye watering. Your standard dinner. Wait staff upsells you without telling you, ie you order a root beer it's a $3 charge on top of the combo price (that includes a drink). Did not mention that.
This greasy spoon doesn't have a single pretentious bone in it's body, but the solid, heavy food came hot and salty, just like you were probably hoping. We were helped quickly and the employees yell "thank you" loudly as you walk back out into the Beale street heat.
Can't wait to go back♡
Food was really good. Waitress was super! 4 stars only because the bathroom could’ve used some attention. But I’ll be going back!
Little slow but good food.
The burgers were just okay... you can definitely taste the rather tangy age-old friolator oil that is their trademark. The place is a bit of a dive, but worth a try if you're a tourist. One caveat: when we visited, we were asked to pay a 'cover charge' (meant to keep out bathroom-users) and we were assured we'd be credited the same amount on our bill. When the waitress brought the bill, that credit wasn't on it. She added it after we pointed that out, but I couldn't help suspecting that they rely on their drunker customers to conveniently forget about it, which is really not okay.
Good Food & Positive Service.
My wife and sister in laws and brother in law went for lunch. The food was pretty good. But the bad stuff is that my wife said the ladies room was nasty and and all the women in the restaurant had to take napkins in there because nobody would refill the toilet Paper. But the worst parts where our waitress she was very rude snapping at us to hurry and order and threw my food on the table and the same with my change for the bill. She snapped at everyone who asked her anything and the cooks just stopped cooking and took a break when they wanted even though people where waiting for their food. I only gave this place a star so I could write a review! I will never go back there and don’t recommend it at all.
Went here two times during a college bowl game. Amazing burgers and shakes. It was a little busy and loud but still great experience
Stopped in for the famous burgers. Wasn't overly impressed with the burger although it was good. Great fries and the service was outstanding!!!
Great place greasy food. Not too many ppl there when we was....but seemed friendly. Bathroom was nasty. Waitress was nice.
That was my first time there. The service and food was great.
Great place. The fries were perfect. Really good burger.
I can't wait to go here. I here it's the best... I'll see you soon.
Very good food, fast service
A very unique taste like no other. The burgers are greasy, but its not overwhelming and there's plenty of taste. The shakes are made fresh and are great tasting as well. Its great fresh food worth the cost!
Always great. Best burgers in town, hands down!
Food decent. Service decent- one order got messed up, but whatever. What ruined it was when a woman vomited right inside the entrance next to our table and no one did anything about it even after it was brought to the staff's attention. Restrooms disgusting as well. Still gagging. Only reason I would return would be to clean it.
Fun place with friendly staff and good burgers. Had to try their 100 year old greese burger and I will say it was very tasty.
Living on the legend of the grease. Cook's were friendly. Waitress way less than friendly. Burgers were just ok. Not alot of flavor or juiciness to them. Other burger places are way better.
Nice Burgers and a cool cookingmethod
Went here for lunch and had the worst food service experience of my life. Our servers name was Chyna and she was rude and snappy. She got mad at us for not ordering fast enough. When she brought us the wrong order we told her and her response was “ok so what’s wrong”. It took forever to get the correct food. It was okay food. When we finally got the bill, it was $60 for three meals and we were charged $8 for gratuity even though the menu said that charge was only for party’s of 4+ or after 9 p.m. The bathroom was dirty and service was awful. Absolutely terrible experience. Would not recommend.
