REVIEWS OF Chaatable IN Tennessee

Cole Gallagher

The decor is lovely and food is fantastic! A Nashville must try!

Isara Tungmanelatkul

Food was fantastic! Though, I was hoping that "Indian street food" would be a cheaper version to the litany of Indian restaurants around Nashville. It's a 15-20 dollar price range for entrees. The standout feature here I suppose was their many different appetizers.

Rex Perry

Easy parking, fun decor, professional wait staff and creative interpretations of Indian street food.

Brandes Finn

So, this is NOT what I expected for Indian cuisine. It's too much to go into detail, but they don't serve naan, which is an Indian cuisine staple. When I asked about it a second time, I was told that naan is sold at dinner, but it's not the naan you would expect. Second, the Build Your Own Bhel option doesn't indicate that it's a cold dish. That was disappointing. The plantain chips were blah. They lacked flavor.

Daniel Whitehurst

Good food, excellent service! Make sure you get the staff to explain what portions would be appropriate for your party as it is sharing style.

Cherrelle Matthews

PHENOMENAL. The best Indian food in Nashville. Perfect for sharing and small groups. Love the atmosphere.

Mihir Powani

A whole different ambience and vibe than a regular Indian restaurant.

Luke McElroy

Sooooo good! We went to their other traditional Indian restaurant and it was good, but this place more than impressed me. I’ve never had butter chicken that is better. (They call it the OG).

Vivian Katz

Wonderful Indian restaurant with a modern twist. Tried 7 different dishes and each one was delicious.

radhey agarwal

Amazing Indian street food. Service is very friendly and helpful. My only criticism is no need to invent fusion dishes if are already delicious in their original form. Unfortunately, our dessert was a victim of “over-invention”. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. I would return if I am in the neighborhood.

Praveen

Good food and good service

Eduardo Castañeda

This place hits all the right senses. From the smells of the dishes zooming by to the colorful decor all over the room, journey on a savory excursion with a menu carrying something for everyone or everything for someone. Friendly and helpful staff. Don't be scared to ask questions. Overall great experience!!! Love the concept focusing on Chaat!!!

Andrew Newton

GREAT food, not great service because so busy

Debbie Scales

Amazing experience! Loved our lunch!!

Karuna Naik

Lovely chaat place in Nashville. Thoughtfully designed to mimic the chaat stalls in India. Right from the old movie posters to the news paper like paper towels in which you get your chaats. This is like a slice of India. I have been here twice. The servers are amazing, food is good. You will not be disappointed. I have had their bhel, chicken frankie and samosa chaat. I liked all three of them. And yeah, the best part is tea in kettle, the typical Indian tea stall style. Would definetly go back again.

We Went here at 8pm on December 24th because the Nashville Guru and several magazine company's published this place would be open untill 10pm and when our family walked to the door the host told us through the glass door that they are closed. Next time your company says they will be open you need to value that.... Wr will never come to this place ever again and will tell everyone to not go to this place .. thanks for ruining my Christmas eve dinner........

Miriam Leibowitz

Can't wait to go back...with stretchy pants on.

Eric Roddy

I want to start by saying i LOVED the atmosphere of this place. Every single inch of the space is well decorated and truly transports you to another place. It made the dining experience so much better. I went for lunch with a group of friends and co-workers. After a suggestion from a friend who had been before, I ordered the lamb sliders. they were absolutely delicious. my only complaint was that two maybe 3 oz sliders and a small portion of fries cost $12. Regardless of how tasty they were, that doesn't seem right or worth it to me. For just $2 more, I could have had the Chaata Bowl, which was 3-4x the size of the sliders and included rice, vegetables and the meat of your choice. Overall, my food tasted great, but I left the table hungry, which was disappointing. Our service and waiter were fantastic. we had a younger guy with long hair, and he was super nice without being annoying. I loved the usage of journals as vehicles to pay the check. It added a nice touch and allowed each diner to leave a note or suggestion to the future customers. My one advice to the owners: please either add more quantity to the lamb sliders (and also the butter burger), or reduce the price marginally. It didn't seem worth paying $12 for what should have been an appetizer. Something was missing. I will be back!

Natalie Banie

Always delicious and great service!

Nicholas Ether

This place has authentic style and taste, but unfortunately not sound. Food was very good, service was great, and I was genuinely impressed by the the design and decoration of the restaurant. The Chaat and Samosas were seasoned and prepared well, both for reasonable prices. However, the music was random Top 40s from 2010 and the TV silently played MTV music videos. Felt very jaring and inauthentic. Would give this place 5 stars if it was playing popular modern South Asian music, or at least had some Bollywood on the TV.

Manoj Bandi

I would say that this is not how real Indian food tastes like. Everything I tasted is sweet. We asked to make paneer spicy and all we got was red chilli power sprinkled on the dish. I am definitely not having food here again. All dishes are overpriced. I however would appreciate the ambience.

Alex Bean

Really good. Tasty and unique. The butter chicken is a totally different take. I liked it a lot.

Heather J

Appetizers were amazing. We ordered the Puff Puff Pass and the samosas. For dinner, we ordered the Butter chicken. The butter chicken was flavorful but a little underwhelming. The drinks we had were good but not great and service was a little slow considering they were not too busy at the time we visited.

Jeremy Anderson

Fantastic ambiance, friendly staff and exciting authentic flavors. A must try. I wish the prices were a bit more in line with Indian street food, since $8 for a parantha is extortionate, but still worth the splurge.

Steven Martens

Good food and service. Group of 6 arrived for 6:30 reservation. Ordered wine and informed they were out of Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay and only had 1 kind of white available. Very surprised they had not sent someone to purchase wine for the evening. The establishment was full at 6:30 and remained so until we left.

Marissa Plaza

LOVED IT! Honestly I didn’t know what to order so our server helped us and he really made a good selection! We had some appetizers to share (please get the chicken kabab and the shrimp). Then we got different ones from the mains menu: Lamb, brussels sprouts and the wheat bread. I would recommend you share those because it is a lot of food! Oh and we had drinks too! Beautiful decoration, awesome service and atmosphere, good prices! Definitely I will go back and bring friends so can try the rest of the menu!

TK Reeves

We LOVED this restaurant! The food (oh my sweet baby Jesus, the food) was amazing. Beautiful interior, fun+attentive staff, and again I will mention the amazing food.

Trey Harrell

Fun, relaxed room. Went for lunch. Must do the build-a-bhel for starters (get your own unless your partner is a very good sharer...) and then the lamb sliders blew my mind. What is it about Indian food that just makes me happy? Great time.

Katelyn Patt

I’m not a huge fan of Indian food, but I really loved everything I tasted at Chaatable. The atmosphere was incredible and the cocktails were some of the best I’ve had in town!

Kristi Newton

The food at Chaatable is unlike anything you’ll find in Nashville, and it’s fantastic! I loved the atmosphere, decor, service, food... everything. I can’t wait to visit again! I only have three complaints, and none of them are important enough to demote from five stars. First, you (and your clothes) will smell like Indian food for about a day, so just be ready! Second, I think our eyes were bigger than our stomachs and we WAY over-ordered. Ask your server to describe the portions so you aren’t left stuffed at the end of the meal. Third, I wasn’t crazy about the drink selection. I tried the Pani’rita and didn’t love it. Next time I’ll try something different!

Madan Nagaraju

Vibrant, Colorful and lively place. This is on Charlotte Ave and is owned by the same owners of Chauhan masala house (make out through their menu!) Nice seating area, friendly staff (ok sometimes), wonderful ambience. Food as the name goes - Indian street food or chaats. Well defined menu items, great quality, flavorful food. Few items needs to be improved like pav bhaji, was plain and bland. Puff Puff Pass, Samosa Chaat, Corn-ish, Vada Pav were all very good. Masala chai was Okay. Overall, a good place to try out Indian street food, Chaatables true to it's name.

mahesh reddy

Very good ambiance and service with good variety of cocktails and chats but few things to consider is the portion sizes for price can be little better and in the main course if you order butter chicken here please let them know to cut the pieces otherwise u will end with half a chicken floaring in a tomato butter gravy which is not very appetizing.

E. J. L

This is a delightful restaurant! The atmosphere is bright, cheery and inviting. The service is excellent. Our patient server answered all of our questions about the menu. Everything we ordered was delicious. Honestly, I wasn't too fired up about dinner at an Indian restaurant, but I really enjoyed the entire experience. We ordered the samosas, brussel sprouts, half chicken and flatbread. All of the flavors are rich and complex. You won't leave hungry!

Jane Marlowe

Wow great brunch at Chaatable. We enjoyed enhanced versions of Indian chaats and street foods like Bombay Toast, Samosa Chaat and Pani Puri as well as inventive fusion dishes such as the omelet in a spicy tomato chickpea gravy. Dessert was a spectacular (but kind of light) carrot halwa-rasmalai tower.

Brian Layman

A unique Indian extravaganza of flavor, sound, sight and service. This feels like it was the most authentic Indian dining experience I have had. Everything was excellent and unique in presentation and taste. This the type of dining experience where you can't hold back a sigh of complete contentment as you walk to your car.

L D

Everything was delicious! The space is lovely (and not too loud), as well. We ordered a dish or two at a time. They were all easy to share and came out quickly. We were there on their 2nd night open and sat at the bar. The bar staff seemed to be working through some of the newness of it all but we never felt like we waited too long for anything. It was pretty impressive for a first weekend. FYI for families - we saw several tables with little ones in high chairs. I’m not sure if they have a kid-specific menu but there are several items that I know my son would eat. There’s also a “build your own dish” that would probably work well for kiddos.

Lou Ann Delpire

Everything was delicious.

Kelly Heyen

My FAVORITE restaurant in Nashville at the moment. Don’t miss Chaatable! Everything on the menu is stellar, the cocktails are unique and delicious, the atmosphere is fun, and the service is always great! (Definitely try the Puff Puff Pass.)

Tom M

Briefly - bland expensive Indian like food fit for southerners who are not acquainted with traditional Indian cuisine. It’s not horrible, but certainly doesn’t meet hype

PRESTONKATHRYN CAMPBELL

We ordered several things off of the menu to sample, including drinks and dessert. We sat at the bar and had impeccable service. Every item was delicious. The menu is fun and has generous variety, captured in cheeky puns. Decor was bright and on point, down to the bathrooms! Standard check folders are replaced with crafty, colorful blank notebooks, in which customers record their thoughts and reviews. Reading through these is very entertaining! Honestly there is nothing negative to report. A wonderful experience. I will be back.

Antonio Constandinou

Had amazing food and service at Chaatable. Would highly recommend and will be coming back. Make sure to order the O.G.!

Ammi Embry

Amazing food and stunning atmosphere. Overall wonderful experience. We love all Chauhan's family of restaurants.

Matthew Drewes

We've been here twice and really enjoyed our food both times. It's not your run-of-the-mill Indian restaurant.

Qian Patrick

Flavorful food with fragrant spices and fresh ingredients. Waiter was patient and knowledgeable! A little heavy for brunch though, come prepared :)

nineyear wooldridge

Just an amazing experience! That’s says it all for me.

Blake

Only had takeout from here, and I was pretty shocked by how excellent it was. Didn't have much time to look around inside but it's really neat and definitely has a fun vibe. We'll certainly be returning as prices were fair and the few servers I talked to we're very helpful. Great date spot. I did overhear the host mentioning a long wait (1+ hour) so get reservations if you can. Worth a try at least once.

Laura Fitzgerald

Have the blue tea cocktail- it is AMAZING. I’ve been to Chaatable a few times now, and I’m giving it 4 stars because there’s been some dishes that were standouts, and a few that were just good. The whole fish was DELICIOUS but a lot of work, the “puff puff pass” is tasty but a bit overpriced. Definitely worth a visit but still not my fave Indian in town.

Casbah D

Great food and fantastic decor.

Nadia Amro

Absolutely divine! It's a refreshing change of pace. The flavors are wonderful, and the dishes are amazing. I highly recommend their samosas. They also have a really cool array of unique cocktails; however, they are a bit overpriced for what you receive. Just my personal opinion, and the only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5. All around, it was a wonderful lunch experience, and I will definitely be back if I'm in the area.

Pierre Delinois

Top notch! Great flavors, and a welcome and unique addition to the Nashville food scene.

Priya Jacob

A great menu, super flavorful food, great ambience and an awesome play of words on their menu

Reagan Wilke

incredible food, good portions and decent prices! everyone in my party of 4 got something different (we went for brunch) and we were all so satisfied. a must try!

Suzanna DeCarlo

It's a fun colorful place. Lots of unique things to try. The puff puff balls were my favorite as an appetizer. The lamb appetizer was delicious. I liked the fish, but would have liked it more if it were fresh instead of fried. A little heavy on the salt.

Angela Pacheco

Excellent all around!! The ambiance and decor set the stage and it just gets better from there. The service was great and since we didn't know the menu we were given a very helpful run through which made selecting from the new and unique menu less intimidating. The family style approach allow you to get a handful of options to try out and really adds to the experience of "street food". Loved the ease of the veg menu, while my friend could have a full menu with meat options. Finally, for the food...A+! I won't break it down by fish since we tried a huge variety and every one hit the mark. Impressive flavors and presentation. Every detail has been thought of and each part of the dining experience was fantastic. Hands down a new favorite in town.

Vanessa Saenz

food was good, it is a bit expensive.

Mike Schaefer

I'd give it a 4 out of 5, but I'm new to Indian food and haven't found what I like. However, my wife absolutely loved it. Tuesday night, place was fairly crowded which was a good sign. We sat at the bar as the wait for a table was 45 minutes. We ordered several small dishes, my favorite being the brussel sprouts. Give this place a try.

shail neupane

Fun place, nice decor and unique cocktails!! Havent got the chance to try the food yet, will definitely be back to do so!!

Sun Shine

The best Indian food I've had in the US. ARTH was the most humble and kind soul with immense patience as he explained every item and answers every question with a genuine smile. I ordered so much food and got some packed to go, so my family 10k miles away can try it.. this is some boujie street food as I've had indian street food before. I loved every item I got and they have tons of GF and Vegan options.. mind blown.. by the time I left the restaurant I've recommended this place to 15 of my friends. P.C. you are amazing. Thank you for presenting us with uniquely authentic Indian cuisine.

Wise Man

Good food & professional service Will definitely come back

Shashank Kunjibettu

Excellent Indian food - with a twist.. The ambience is great and the service is very very good. Haven't come across a lot of Indian restaurants here in the US with such good service.. The food tasted delicious and there were lot of vegetarian options to choose from. The wait time for being seated or the food to be served weren't too long.. The selection of signature cocktails were interesting as well..

Thomas Cooper

Indian street food in Nashville West End.

Linda Burch

Amazing and creative food, service, and atmosphere! Thanks, Jay S. and Martin, for making us feel so welcome so far away from home. We are huge Indian food fans, but this is really special. Try the small plates of perfectly seasoned street food. Food for the spirit!

Charles Cosner

Excellent lunch. Her "taco" was a unique fusion dish. All of her restaurants are great.

Eli Gibbons

Amazing food. Our server was incredible at showing us what we’d like. Our table had mixed reactions as far as cocktails but that was no fault of the preparation. I’d suggest asking for suggestions if you are unsure. Prices were pretty high for the amount of food but it was good enough to counter act the sticker shock. Highly recommend this place if you even remotely enjoy Indian food.

Stefanie Delinois

All the food we had was excellent. It is nice to go to a place in Nashville doing something different. The decor and atmosphere were also good. My only complaint was that our particular server seemed annoyed to be serving us. I am not very familiar with Indian food, so when I would ask her questions, she was just repeat the description written on the menu and then look at me as if it was a ridiculous question. All that said, the concept and the food was excellent, and I would definitely go back.

Roma Amin

My girlfriends and I had an amazing time here today! We were out for our friend's bachelorette party, and Maneet Chauhan happened to be there. She was the friendliest, most down to person ever! Every item we ate was delicious!! The drinks were also unique and very yummy. If I'm ever back in Nashville, I'll definitely be back.

SixerIverson04

Went to Chaatable on December 27, 2018 for the 1st time ever. Service and food was splendid. Being a non Indian I eat different kinds of cuisines. I ordered butter chicken that included turmeric rice after spending four hours at the gym. The butter chicken was tasty and delicious. Also I enjoyed very second eating it especially the sauce that melted my mouth. Salamat Maneet, Vivek and Chaatable for making my 1st ever visit a memorable one that I will never forget. I plan on coming back again soon. Salamat once again!

Jay T

Nice decor, Good chat items, Good service. Enjoyed! Wish they add pani puri to the menu.

Caroline Flynn

Fun hip vibe with delicious Indian eats... Loved the colors!

Kate McClarnon

Fun, unique space. If you are tired of the Nashville dining narrative (over-hyped farm to table, floor to ceiling reclaimed wood, and endless Edison bulbs), go eat here! It’s one of the most flavorful menus in town, and the prices are really great! You can go nuts and order from every section of the menu and share with friends, or you can stick with a single entree per person. Either way, you can’t go wrong. Great service (what else do you expect from Morph Hospitality?) and a super fun menu. Let the servers guide you through the flavors if you aren’t familiar with Indian dishes. There really is something here for everyone!

Donna Caplan

Excellent food. Fabulous flavors. Wonderful experience!!

Brandi Etheridge

Definitely the best new restaurant in town! Amazing food and beautiful space!!

Chris Delpire

Very good food! We got the build a behl to start. It's very good. Then I got some chai which was delicious. Finally I got the OG which was excellent. The paneer is a bit on the drier side, and I wish they were cut smaller, but I enjoyed the shredded paneer. The flavor of the curry was incredible.

MANDY Singh

Best indian restaurant very good food

Shefali Chandaria

Great Indian street food. Amazing flavor without burning your mouth. Definitely recommend again and again.

Benjamin Anderson

Great concept with a cool and inviting atmosphere. The intended way to eat here is to come with multiple people and share small plates. The butter chicken was delicious, as was the fried okra and everything else. Hospitable service, distinct flavor. Expect a decent wait at dinner time, so call ahead.

Jesse Hewitt

There’s nothing else to say other than the food is incredible. The best meal I’ve had in Nashville in a long while!

Daniel Wilson

Excellent modem spin on Indian food.

Mac Wiltzer

The food is not bad, but way overpriced. Watch out, they automatically add 20% gratituty, and then add a tip line to the receipt.

Sarah Sadler

A rich, exciting, delicious cultural dining experience! A meal that takes you somewhere and lends an education in flavor and food combinations. Cannot wait to return and TRYALLOFTHETHINGS.

Sanjiv Desai

Reminded me of street food from back home in India. Nice vibe to the place and authentic atmosphere. Service is great as expected. Tried Faluda, which was the best I had in this country so far. Must eat place in Nashville.

Amylane Duncan

I've been excited to try this restaurant, especially with my range of good allergies and love for Indian food. There was a two hour wait and open tables. I didn't wait. I strongly recommend reservations when going here.

boomer t

Everything here is rich--the colorful decorations, the complex flavors in the dishes, and the overall dining experience. Because it's hard to guage, I'd say that for two people, you should get one entree, two smaller items, and rice or bread. Also be sure to prod waiters when you want things to come out. Sometimes they try to pace you, which sucks when you want the rice or bread with a certain dish. Overall, it's a bit expensive and trendy for my taste, but for an occasional treat, it's great. Probably the best Indian food in the Vanderbilt/West End area.

Andres Quesada

I have no idea what exactly I ate, all i know is that I've never had anything like it before and it was excellent. If you ask for spicy sauce they have some very good and different tasting hot sauce. Try the Puff Puff Pass for some interesting balls in your mouth

Priya Purohit

Amazing food and environment! You feel like you are eating in the hippest cafe in Bombay! Yummy eats!

Amanda Staggs

I've been waiting to try this place since it opened, and I certainly wasn't disappointed! We went for brunch. The Mumbai Munchin sandwich is fantastic, the Okra Winfried Show is so thin and delicious, and the You Say Potato I Say Aloo was perfectly seasoned. I can't wait to try the other menus!

Baden Mode

Yo the drinks were bomb and so adequately priced. Great food, cant say enough fantastic things. Great price value too

Tom Demong

Open airy in the new development style yet Indian. Good food good prices. Casual & friendly vibe. When I was there several tables of "girls for dinner and chat night." In other words: good food, friendly, safe. We two males were not out of place: just no pick up vibe, so welcome and nice with tasty food and a cheery decor . This place has staying power

Hilda McMackin

We wanted to go here for a long time after hearing rave reviews and it lived up to them all. The waiter was super knowledgeable and helped us pick a great selection of small plates. Highly recommend trying this place!

Stacey O'Donnell

This place has perfect flavor combinations and great service! Get the Steam Rolling appetizer, so good.

nitin a

Not authentic heavily customized, kulfi was good

Kathleen Everson

My husband and I love Chauhuan ale and masala house (and all of Maneet's restaurants) so when we saw that she was opening this restaurant we had to go and it did not disappoint! The butter chicken was phenomenal and the decor inside is just so fun. I highly recommend making your own bowl as well (can't remember the full name). All the dishes have really fun names as well. If you're looking for great Indian food and a cool vibe - this is the place for you!

Ted Vandell

Unique, funky, fun place. Great decor and original takes on Indian classic cuisine. Excellent.

Andy Runyan

Chaatable has been open at least a few weeks now, so I feel like they should have had time to iron out details. Yet, coming into the restaurant was a bit chaotic. There is virtual no waiting area, so when we arrived there was a jumbled mass of people trying to get to the host. There was no order and it was a bit of a stressful start, especially considering we had reservations. Maybe it's all part of the authentic Indian street food experience? What wasn't authentic Indian street food experience was the price. Everything was a bit expensive IMO, and since it is mostly an a la cart menu, the price adds up quickly. I thought the food itself was okay even though I do like Chauhan. They don't have naan, but I did like the bread (prantha I think?), Which was my favorite part of the meal. Service wasn't great. There were two mistakes with our order, but it wasn't all the server's fault--it was quite loud where we were sitting mostly because of the music.

Nancy Law

Please do yourself a favor and go try this place. The food was off the chart incredible. As you can see we tried a lot and everything was great. Service was impressive. I will definitely return.

Katie Motley

Chaatable is so charming! The decor is bright, charismatic and inviting. The food is so good! We got several small plates and one of the bigger dishes to share. All with amazing flavor palettes that create an actual flavor experience. We also had the pani-Rita cocktail. It was fresh and light and paired wonderfully with the servings. My partner and I had a lovely date night for under $50! What a great outing!

Shruti Salaria

This place has amazing Indian food, drinks and service. Everything that we tried had perfect flavors. And ofcourse the culture and bollywood inspired decor is beautiful.

Joy Lynn

If you get the samosas, be warned that you'll probably feel inclined to lick the plate clean. But also, extremely friendly/helpful staff, fun atmosphere, and super delicious food.

Eric Schlegel

Amazing food and drinks with excellent service.

Sharmistha Ganguly

Chaatables review - loved the Rajasthani fused with Bollywood decor. So colorful and jazzy. ❤️ Appetizers and cocktails were yummilicious! Disappointment were the Entrees, just like Chauhan’s Ale and Masala house. Every curry wAs sour, or loaded with either tamarind or a sour tomato gravy. They are running out off a lot of stuff. Desserts - not the greatest.

Max Abrams

We went for our first visit as a party of 6. Long story short, we let our server order for us. The results were fantastic. Not a single dud. Everything was delicious. The ambience is great. Service was spot on. A great first go.

Drew Trachy

Great food and service. She had the avoca-dough and I The O.G. Both were tasty. Her's had good layered flavors, and mine was decadent and buttery.

Barbara Donner

Great decor and uptake on indian cuisine.

Jennifer Kennedy

Food was excellent (of course) and the ambiance is so different from anything else you'll experience in Nashville. No detail was overlooked from the menu items to the design.

Nikki Williams

Lunch was delicious, excellent service and Maneet showed up and surprised all the customers.

Gregory Booth

Had Happy Hour apps and drinks. Everything was fantastic, from the brussels sprouts to the lamb sliders.

Sarah

WOW. This place is ridiculously good. I can’t believe how good it is actually. Came in for lunch and got a “chaata-bowl” chicken mahkni and rice. By far one of the most delicious dishes I’ve had in Nashville. 100% coming back.

Alexis Maher

Food was okay. Service was bad. Our waiter was inconsistent and tried serving us three other tables’ food.

Pranav Suthar

Great restaurant.. vegetarian options available! Atmosphere is great.

cynthia crenshaw

The appetizers are excellent. Super vegan options-- try the brussel sprouts and the cauliflower entree! The vegan dessert wasn't a favorite, but everything else was.

Gordon Conaway

Delicious and authentic Indian cuisine. The atmosphere is incredible, you can tell there was such attention to detail in the lighting and design of the place. A great addition to the neighborhood. I requested that they make my O.G. Chicken entree spicy and this request was satisfied! The guest book they bring out your check with was a charming touch. We walked away stuffed and impressed.

graham stessel

Fantastic vibe, speedy and friendly service. Would love to come back repeatedly.

Ryan Rattliff

Easily the best Indian food I have EVER had. My partner and I made reservations so we were seated right away. The server took a while to come but when he did, he answered every question we had and was extremely patient. He suggested a couple of things that were delicious. The chicken in the OG and Spice, Rice, Everything Nice (?) meal was cooked PERFECTLY. We had lots of yummy food. The atmosphere was also delightful. The meals were a bit expensive but we got so much food in our meals and actually spent a lot less than anticipated. 10/10 totally recommend.

Mario Jiménez

The atmosphere is great for having a group of friends over and enjoying cocktails, the cocktails are a bit different than any other place but in a good way. The appetizers and the small dishes are the best things on the menu. The main dishes however, I feel you can get better at other Indian restaurants for a better price, they just didn't "wow" me like the smaller dishes did. Overall though, it is a great place for dinner or cocktails.

Anthony Campbell

Beautiful space, great service, and an a’ight menu.

Lakshmi Manasa

Not worth the place.Food looks apetizing bht doesnt satisfy your tastes. Lots of butter which makes the food taste extremely salty.Presentation and Ambience is worth, but the value for food is a total Zero. I would say its a one time try to check it off the list.

andre richardson

We were actually on our way to 'Farm Burger', still disappointed in our 'The Goat' experience and looking for retribution, when we stumbled upon Chaatable. This street food Indian restaurant, wowed us upon entry with their eclectic decor and bright inviting scheme. Unfortunately, the fare did not match the ambiance of the restaurant. While great creativity was taken in the naming of the dishes, this also made it hard to get through the menu. Each item had to first be deciphered before we could begin to make a decision. We love Indian food but Chaatable, was a step down for us. Perhaps in trying to tie in with a theme, the true essence of good Indian food was lost. The blame could possibly be on us, as nothing we chose was traditional Indian food. However, we know what good Indian food taste like and we deciding to try something that was synonymous with the theme of this restaurant, and that was a mistake. The only thing worth the order was the Poori which was great! The Send Noods were merely quick cooked ramen and veggies; Shammi the Way, which were lamb sliders were decent, but not worth a conversation. Sprout it Out Loud, their take on crispy brussel sprouts, were entirely too salty! My cocktail was pretty tasty and the chai tea reminded us that we actually were in an 'Indian' restaurant. At some point we will give Chaatable another chance; it won't be anytime soon. Hopefully, they will outlast their predecessor.

Tamim Arif

Chaatable has great ambiance, and all the staff, including our server, were super friendly! Our waiter took the time to talk to us about the place, and the food. I saw him explain the dishes to several people in tables next to us as well. We were excited to try some of the Indian street food, chaat, and stuck to sampling several of those, rather than ordering mains. Names of many of the dishes on the menu have an entertaining play on words, if you know the Indian names for the chaat or ingredients. For example, a cauliflower based chaat, named "Go Be Awesome" - Cauliflower is "gobi" in hindi. The food, was delivered quickly, and plated well. It looked great. It tasted OK, and that is the main reason for knocking down a star. Each of the chaat I tried, was lacking an "oomph" factor, for lack of better words. For example, the tamarind chutney was sweet, rather than a sweet/tangy combination that it is supposed to be. We did try one of the mains, "Spice, Rice, and Everything Nice", which was too small an entree for the price, and also, nothing special. Having said that, the "Pow! Pau!" my wife had, she claims was one of the best pau bhajis she has had! My kids, who are reluctant to eat anything other than cheese pizza, also enjoyed it, so there's that! She also really liked the "Puff Puff Pass". One word for those rushing to make it to a reservation on time - factor in the 15 min it will take you circling blocks to find parking!

One of the most beautiful restaurants I've been to - the designs are very reminiscent of Rajasthan, a region of India. However, if you want authentic Indian food, you might want to try some place else. The Chicken Biryani was only normal rice mixed with chicken whereas the Rasmalai and Gajar Halwa can be labeled mediocre at best. The two chaats they offer (papdi chat and samosa chat) are tasty but I've had better in Nashville.

Chris Vicari

Food is fantastic, staff is welcoming and atmosphere is very inviting.

Krishna Tharun

Top notch ambience and service with decent food. A bit pricy for the taste I feel.

Ken _

Fun atmosphere, friendly wait staff with menu knowledge and helpful suggestions, fantastic food.

Heather Stroupe

Great atmosphere, speedy service (even for a large group), and moderately priced. Drinks (specialty and beer) are unique.

Loni McClellan

The B.O.B. and the brussel sprouts!

Noah Cook

Great food and great service. My party was at a loss for what the menu meant, but our server talked us through it and gave us great recommendations. The space is friendly and inviting, I look forward to coming back!

Our favorites were the Samosas (especially the sauce and toppings that came with it), the OG (essentially their take on a tikka masala or butter chicken, with a very flavorful orange sauce), and puri bread with minced lamb. We went on a Sunday for a late lunch. The restaurant was about half full, and the food came out within 10 minutes. Service was good. Affordable prices, most dishes are in the low teens. There is a parking lot behind the restaurant.

Eric Johnson

Great little place. Once again Chef Maneet gets it right. Love the flavors and concepts

Aaron Ceplina

Pau Pow for sure. Everything we had was wonderful and had a ton of flavor. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend and we will be going back very soon.

Anna Crutchfield

The bowl with chicken and rice they serve for lunch is probably the most savory meal I've ever eaten. I'm never going back to chicken tikka masala again lol

Matt Kerske

Food and atmosphere was great. Mark displayed fantastic customer service.

Anthony Gomes

Not authentic Indian food by any standard. It looks like Indian food, but is not. I understand their target customers are not Indians but Americans. Pricey, for quantity is small.

Sam Espada

Came to dinner here with some co-workers from Delhi and while they felt the food wasn't truly authentic they and I were impressed by the modern take on Indian cuisine. The quality of food was increidable with a separate vegetarian menu and superb cocktails. Restaurant is very well decorated and the service was very attentive and nice. This place does get really full at certain times though so book ahead, parking can also be tricky but check in the back as there is a large parking area there.

Chris Graham

Great atmosphere and very tasty food. I'll for sure be going back.

NOTE: I am an Indian and a big foodie and have grown eating street food in India. I went to Chaatable with few friends for some snacks and drinks. Ambience is good, no doubt about it, but the food is not up to the level. We ordered Pav Bhaji, Samosa Chaat, Vada Pav, Jackfruit Biryani, Mango Lassi and some beer. The food is not great, they are selling Lemon rice (inexpensive and takes only few mins to prepare) as Biryani (are you kidding me) plus the raita they gave was not even 1 spoonful and when I asked for more, they charged me for it (wow), so $22 for cold Lemon rice with jackfruit is a ripe off served as Biryani (including gratuity). Asked my friends about other items we ordered, they were not excited about the food. The food is not authentic and very expensive for the served portion. If you are American, you might enjoy the different flavors but there are several good and authentic Indian restaurants in Nashville better than Chaatable at a significantly better price points for sure. The food is not worth the money. 2 stars for the ambience. If you want to experience good Biryani, I would recommend going to Paradise Biryani, House of India (Lamb Biryani), Persis Biryani Indian Grill. Try Green Chili Indian Restaurant near Rivergate for any kind of authentic Indian food.

Always a great time, friendly staff and good service! We went for a birthday dinner , and between the 3 of us, had the O.G, the Go Shorty and the Baadaam. Look for those on the menu - you won't be disappointed. We always leave with leftovers, so that should be an indication of how much food you get. The only weird aspect to the evening was that we wanted to order ginger beer, which we had been able to order at a previous visit, but our waiter told us the bartender wouldn't allow for it to be sold individually. I don't know if they were in short supply, or just trying to save it to mix with their alcoholic drinks, but I figure if you can charge me $3 or $4 for a bottle of ginger beer and I'm willing to pay, why not let everyone win? In any case, it was ultimately a good dining experience.

Had dinner at 6:00, good thing we had reservations. We shared an order of the BADAAAM, THAT'S GOOD leg o' lamb pasanda, very flavorful, not too spicy. The meal includes rice (about a cereal-bowl full), and we got a side of OKRA WINFRIED which is flash fried okra, tomatoes & onions. That was a big hit. The veggies had no oil, were dry-crispy, YUM! We also had a side of Lucknow flat bread, I didn't care for it, bland, neither sweet, savory, or spicy, too heavy with oils. this meal was enough for two women and i ended up taking a very small to-go box. Our server, Audrey, was wonderful, the food arrived lightning fast, the price of the Lamb might have been a couple of dollars overpriced, but certainly not enough to quibble over. Very nice meal enjoyed it thoroughly and we'll be going back

Indian inspired maybe but extremely hipster. Would not recommend if your looking for authentic Indian food. Service and appetizers were good. Main course was disappointing others may love it.

Rohan Patil

Good place for trying good creative dishes. However, overall taste is average and the price is high. So you will basically pay for creative thinking rather than great food.

Jack Grayson

I will never recommend this place. I am not a person that gives bad review such as this, but my experience with the chef and the quality of food was awful. I was with my family and ordered variety of dishes. We had problems with some of the foods that we had ordered. Our two appetizers (the potato skins and plantain chips) had no flavor. I told the waiter about this. The chef came out and gave us snarky response. The chef was rude. He is not professional at all. As for our main dish, I requested that my biryani to be spicy. That dish did not come out spicy. After my experience with appetizers and the chef, I decided not to say anything. I just hope this chef will be more professional with future customers.

I went solo on Christmas Eve and sat at the bar. The food came out very quickly even though the restaurant was packed. Probably the best Indian food I’ve had and I will be back soon. The only thing I would note is the automatic 20% gratuity. Not sure if this was just because I was at the bar or something they always do. I don’t have a problem with it as I always tip 20% or more unless the service is really bad. Nobody informed me of it and if I wouldn’t have looked at bill closely, I would have put a tip on top of that.

Joshua Mitchell

Absolutely positively the best Indian food we have had in the US. Love the atmosphere, loved the service (Joseph was great). It was amazing. the food was as good here as it was in India. Great portion sizes and prices too. Anyone giving this less than 5 stars is wrong. I loved it!!!!!!!

Jason Swett

I'm a big fan of everything Maneet Chauhan has brought to Nashville thus far. This is more of a self-described street-food menu, but oh my goodness is it good. So, let's talk about The O.G. - aka butter chicken; it's breathtaking. Would it be weird to drink the sauce with a straw? Only if someone saw me. It's that good. I can talk more about how great the menu is, because everything we had was good, but The O.G. was truly remarkable. It's a budget version of Chauhan wallet-wise, but not flavor-wise. Did I mention the butter chicken was good?

malavika mathad

Loved the ambience.Excellent indian street food, great service

preeti lal

Great place for Indian Street food! We tried vada pav, bhel Puri and kulfi falooda and everything was great. The decor is absolutely stunning as well

Best service, Best Indian street food experience in Nashville

Janice Snow Rodriguez

Pricey Indian food in a lovely environment with inattentive service.

Jess O'Shea

Delicious! Tried a bunch of small plates at the bar. Great service and fun cocktails! Can’t wait to return!

Amy L

I had a really great time at Chaatable. The food was delicious and the restaurant itself is a lot of fun to look at.

Sarah Anne

Delicious food and beautiful dining experience. New favorite spot in Nashville.

Aubrey Preston

As a fan of Chauhan Ale & Masala House, I have been really pumped to try this restaurant for a more casual version of Maneet Chauhan's dishes. Not only are the dishes all named with hilariously, clever puns, but the food itself was incredible. Every single dish was complex, interesting and delicious. I visited with two other friends, and we split four small plates (fried okra, brussel sprouts, Legalize Wheat, and somosas) and two entrees (the O.G. Butter chicken and the Go Shorty! beef short rib). The Butter Chicken and Brussel Sprouts were my standout dishes. We split the bill evenly three ways and spent a little over $30 each after tip. SO in conclusion, this place has an awesome ambiance, fantastic food, great service, and it's affordable. WHAT? Thank you for the awesome experience, Chaatable!

Reid Barber

was pleasantly surprised to be offered a vegetarian menu before being sat. fine selection of beer and cocktails. food was delicious and fast. friendly staff and management. wonderful experience all around. will return.

Absolutely delicious!! We loved everything we tried. The atmosphere is vibrant and fun. Service was excellent (it was our servers first night and we could barely tell - it was like she had been there forever). Highly recommend! Visited June 2019

Our waiter was extremely helpful and the ambiance was really nice. We got the samosa chaat, omelette, egg bhurji pau, and paneer frankie. Everything was really flavorful and very shareable. Flavors are really colorful and the fusion twist works well

Z T

My first Indian street food experience and I felt like I wasn’t in Nashville anymore. We had the samosas, lamb sliders, plantain chips, and Brussel sprouts and we were very satisfied. The Brussel sprouts were crispy and flavorful and the samosa’s chickpea dip also went very well with the plantain chips. I’m excited to try more things on the menu.
