Carmen's Taqueria is fantastic! This was our first visit, but we'll definitely be back. The chips and salsa were great. I ordered the barbacoa, which was flat-out amazing (perfectly seasoned, with a delightful lime zing); my daughter had Carmen's cheesy plate with carne asade, and it was delicious as well. The only negative was that it took the food a bit to come out - but when it did, it was piping hot and well worth the wait! I'm looking forward to trying some of their other items.

I had to give at least 1 star but I did it reluctantly. Staff is rude, slow and the food is absolutely terrible. The original location is so much better. Although the live musicians were good it was so loud you could not hear each other talk. This place has really gone downhill and I certainly will not be back!

Moved here from Arizona and didn't expect the quality of the Mexican food in a little town like this. Absolutely some of the best I've ever had. I ate slot of Mexican food during my 45 years in ArzAriz. Don't go anywhere else. Trust me. Outstanding!

Worst food I've ever tried. The beans looked like some kind of black chili. My husband ordered 3 hard shell beef tacos and the beef was hard and taste burnt. I ordered a chicken burrito and it was black inside. If I could give no stars I would. Will never go back.

In my opinion this is one of the best Mexican restaurants in Murfreesboro. They have great drink specials everyday. Their lunch special is great as well. $4.99 for an authentic taco, chimichanga, rice beans, and soft drink included seems like a great deal. They are a bit pricey compared to other Mexican restaurants in town but the food is worth it.

Carmen's is always good. I wish they had thinner chips, but that's something I can overlook. Their barbacoa taco salad is sooooo good. Their tacos are always delicious. I am not a huge fan of the regular margaritas but I do really like their mango margaritas.

Our family loves Carmen's. As far is Mexican restaurants in Middle TN go, we think it's one of the best. They have some authentic style Mexican dishes like Sopas and Huaracha. They also have some drink specials every day. The best part of Carmen's is the staff. So friendly and they make going there a treat.

We did a take out order after a long day on the road and were absolutely delighted with the quality of the food made by Carmen’s. My husband loved his cheese enchiladas and the guacamole was homemade, fresh and delicious. The small order was more than enough for one person. My husband also loved the house salsa and the chips that they must fry up themselves. I had tamales and they were excellent. For less than $25.00 we had enough food to feed 4 people. We will definitely be back the next time we are in town!

Would’ve loved to give this place 5 stars. Food was great, chips are the best BUT service was so slow. After I got my food no one came back to my table. Have to get up and get the chefs attention to find a server and then one never came. Server took 30 minutes to take my order after I got seated (there were only 5 tables at the time because I got there shortly after they opened for lunch.) There no reason I had to be there for 3.5 hours just because the server wouldn’t come to my table or give me a ticket.

I sooooo want to love this place. The food is good. Pretty extensive menu with authentic and traditional Mexican fare. The chips and salsa are delicious. Black beans and rice pretty tasty. Mexican tacos are "good". Sometimes the meat is super tender but sometimes it's really tough and full of gristle. The biggest drawback is the service. They usually only have two servers at lunch. At least that's the case when I have been there. I think there business must be very sporadic at times. Hence, the lack of servers.

This place has never failed to disappoint me. They are understaffed resulting in bad orders, wrong orders, and the food wasn't that great, either. My food arrived, finally, after everyone around me were finishing their food. I had to ask for a go box so I wouldn't keep anyone longer than necessary in a short lunch period.

Overpriced, terrible and tasteless food. There was no spice or heat in any dish we ordered. Everything was smothered in bland queso cheese that looked like it came from a can. The salsa looked like brown tomato juice with seeds....did not taste like salsa. Never going back.

The service was horrible and the food took over 45 minutes to come out. The music was so loud that we couldn't hear the server when she spoke. When she dropped our check off, we took it to the front counter to pay like usual, not realizing that she was working the bar and wanted us to pay her directly. She started yelling to us from the bar while we were at the front counter by the door....two other servers started yelling at us saying that we had to pay at the bar, right after we paid at the front counter. The bartender (our server) was angry and so incredibly rude! How were we to know that we were supposed to do anything different than we normally do?? I was shocked at this experience and will not be back.

Carmen's on South Church serves authentically Mexican dishes with fresh ingredients and powerful flavor. A large menu of combinations you should try, Carmen's is a Sunday favorite, and the hominy stew is to die for on a cold day. If you want authentic Mexican with a brew without spending too much, Carmen's is a good choice.

Delley! This young lady, she is the proverbial pooh! She is knowledgeable on the food (hell, she knew what I wanted and I didn't!). Her personality is so upbeat and inviting that conversation was so easy and laid back that i felt i knew her forever and as though i was a regular (first time here). I was brought my food promptly and it was better than i could've expected. I was greeted by Carlos (who i found out later owns the place) and even that brief moment was comfortable. All of the staff even sitting at bar, checked on me asked how things were and were genuinely concerned about my experience. I had to post but wish this place could be my secret! Thank you to the entire staff at Carmen's Taqueria. I'll be back!

This place doesn’t even deserve a star. Their food is disgusting and way over priced. Get anything beef it’s just over cooked hamburger meat you could done at home with your 2 year old cooking for you. The rice and beans are s$$$$$ as well. If come here bout only thing going to get is crappy food and even worse service. I’ve never had worse Mexican in my life and have been to a lot being a truck driver. Only gets one star cause I have no choice. Btw better Mexican food around corner at Camino real.

I had to walk out on my meal. I came in and ordered the clipper coupon 2 fajitas and margarita for $22. The manager brought me out chicken instead of the steak I ordered, and the plate was smaller than a single fajita. Then I told them I dont want it and sent the child's fajita plate back. I paid $5 for the margarita when he tried to charge me $8. I told him $5 was all I was paying and if he wanted more he should bring me the rest of the food I ordered. He had the nerve to tell me not to come back. OMG you can bet your bottom dollar I will never be back to get taken advantage of again. LOL, pulling into Camino! Awful! Service didn’t know NOTHING. Never refill the dranks. Had to ask for my sides. Mess up on one order. Rice wasn’t cook. Taco was good but so much against it. MUSIC blasting. Seats are really rough. Didn’t even know their own special for the day. Never ever coming back. This guy I am eating with is having an allergic reaction to the “food” they serve. What a shame. Should be close!

Food was mediocre, service was terrible, and the duo band played nothing but dull, slow, downer 90s country. This is the second time our service has been bad, but usually the band makes up for it. I won't return to see this musical act and the servers need significantly more training. Not the fun Friday night we had in mind.

Ordered 2 large chicken cheese and rice and large cheese dip came to $30 get home I have 2 tiny chicken breasts and maybe a serving spoon full of rice and cheese that had been mashed down and spread over the plate and the cheese dip was the same size as the free salsa so I call and they say they are about to close and they would take care of it on my next visit so I get up Saturday morning call tell them who I am and what went on and the lady was like ok mam what would you like to replace it and I said just give me the same thing I get there to pick it up and they want me to pay for half of it!!!! Really???? You have gotten ALL my money your gonna get it was my first and last time eating there and I will tell everyone I know not to eat there and I own a business and know a lot of people on Murfreesboro!!!! All you had to do was make it right you charged me $30 and there wasn't enough food there to feed a toddler much less two adults!!!! From now on it's NACHOS all the way NEVER been done wrong there!!!!

Chips and cheese dip were bland. Food tasted OK but there was a huge chunk of fat in the beef that made about 1/3 of it inedible. Never once was asked if wanted a drink refill. Had to ask twice and wait 5 minutes to get some ketchup for my daughter. Then they added 18% tip because it was more than a party of 5 ( it was 7). Talked to manager who said sorry but that is our policy. Bad food. Bad service. Ignorant management (lost a customer over about $6 in tips (I would have left a tip.....just not 18%). Will never eat there again.

Hands down, the food is good! However, the dining experience is lacking. Most of the time, the servers are great! But tonight, was a horrible experience with the kitchen. We ordered and it took a long time to finally get the WRONG order. We sent it back and it came back about 10 minutes later WRONG again! Actually, it came back to us the very same way we sent it back. I am not one to look for a discount or free meal, but I did mention that we should get a discount since my young daughter had already received and eaten her meal by the time we got ours. Nothing was discounted and no one in charge even came over to us to apologize for the wait and the mistake. Management, you should really review your customer service skills.

NOT VEGAN FRIENDLY I showed up and ordered my food, didn't add anything just took a few things off a vegetarian dish and my dish came out with pieces of beef hidden throughout it. I showed my server and they just avoided the table until the manager came over and attempted to pretend like nothing happened until I mentioned it. I understand that accidents can happen but when you don't work to fix those accidents and avoid them when they do then you don't deserve repeat customers.

Waited 20 minutes before staff acknowledged we were there. No drinks or menus until we asked. Also had to ask for the check and boxes twice. They weren't crowded so I'm not sure what was going on. We're regulars and usually the service is great. Food is always good.
