REVIEWS OF Captain Jim's Seafood Buffet IN Tennessee

Kimmikat

We were really disappointed by the food quality. The shrimp on ice had a rubbery texture, like maybe it had been sitting out for too long. The water tasted like dish soap, and I had never seen such an upcharge for crab legs. (Then again, we …

Tammy Gardner

Food was pretty good but our waiter sucked big time. Never smiled wasnt polite didnt empty the bucket once. Only came to our table 2 times the entire time we was there

JoAnn Griffith

First time at restaurant, experience was not good. Catfish was not cooked hard. When cooking seafood it will need to be hard so it will not be soft on the inside. Even when checking temperature it needs to be crispy. Who is doing the cooking, a professional cook should know this.

Sean

Disappointed with the selection and quality of food. Crab legs were small and constantly had to wait for them. Very warm in the food area and the restaurant was not very clean.

Jay Nguyen

My first time here was great, but this time around the food was not so good. The crab was fine but the raw oysters and clams tasted so fishy. The servers was nice though but thats about it. At almost $40 an adult for that kind of food, I dont think ill be back.

Jennifer Nichols

Seafood was okay according to the person I went with. I dont care for seafood, so it was $30 for not so great other food. But hey, if you're into all you can eat buffets, there was a lot of food here.

Eve Geary

I recommend if u come visit Tennessee. First time crab legs eater. Their buffet includes the crab legs for adults $37 children $23. I didn't even know how to eat it and my waitress was awesome and showed me how. Thanks so much Lynn. It's my daughter bday dinner and she's so happy. Thank u captain Jim's

Sheila Tanner

Crablegs were good. Other things not so much. Terrible atmosphere. Waited over an hour to be seated. We didn't seem to have the same priority as other groups that were seated before us and not there nearly as long. Guess our southern accent wasn't the right one to have.

Lorene Gilmore

The atmosphere is like a strip club, very little effort was made to make us welcome. The hostess flipped out a card with our choices and made us choose before we were seated. But we didn’t pay her. We paid at the end. The servers were disinterested and chilly. But most importantly the food was very sub standard. Super pricey and not worth it. We have both felt nauseous all day since eating there for lunch. We won’t be eating there again. And would not recommend. Ever To anyone.

Jeanne Huntley

Reception very rude, impatient. Our first visit, large group, unaware that you have to indicate menu choice before being seated. Table was dirty. Menu items limited, all fried in same oil so all tasted the same, cold shrimp were soft. Slow to refill buffet items ie buns, which were actually good, butter, cutlery, cheesecake. Table service was good ie drink refills, plate removal. Additional cost for drinks, should be included for price of buffet. Baked cod was best thing on menu for me. Others who had crab legs said they were ok, not great, didn't cook enough at a time so had to wait. It was quite busy when we were there and we were a large group ended up sitting at seperate tables as far away from buffet room as possible. Food was cold by the time we got back to table. Very slow cash out. Overall not worth the almost 30$ cost. Of our group of 12 no one would return. No one thought it was worth the cost.

vol trex

Food was terrible! the crab legs where tiny and everything else was way to salty. Paid $90 for 2. I will not recommend nor will i return.

Katie Pell

Terrible food and the building is old & dirty. The food had a horrible dirty fish smell and wY too pricey.

David Rodriguez

I definitely recommend this place! They kept the buffet area clean and the food was fantastic and fresh! The pecan pie could use some work it tasted like a frozen pie you thawed out.

Linda Vore

Came in and didn't realize it was close to being closed. No one mentioned this. After one trip to the buffet, they were tearing it all down. When asked, they didn't seem to know English. Food mostly tasteless. Definitely would not recommend. No tip. And way too expensive.

Jeanette Marceau

All you can eat crab legs. Good crab legs, clam chowder, hush puppies, and desert. They have twice baked potatoes, corn on the cob, gumbo, baked and fried fish. Fried oysters, clams, and frog legs. They also had broiled mussels, crab cakes and crab stuffed flounder. They have a small salad bar.

James Robert

To expensive for what they have. Honestly not worth it.buf you stop in do yourself a favor and ask to look at the buffet before you pay the the almost 40$ per person Price, but this is just my opinion. The restaurant also had a strong scent of fish as soon as we walked in the door which is a clue to the cleanliness of the kitchen.

Kevin Wynstra

Terrible experience buffet was a disaster, and expensive. The only reason to go here would be for the even more expensive buffet crab leg option. Wouldn't send my worst enemy here

sybil vinson

Love the atmosphere, the staff was amazing, the food was great. The oysters is my favorite just wished they had been in season cause they had been washed and weren't salty at all you had to put salt on them. But everything else was great. I will be going back.

Gennadiy melnik

Worst crab legs I have ever ate, very dry. Food was not that great. I really regret coming here. I would definitely not come back. For 37.99/ person it's so not worth it.

Lena Calloway Bloss

Absolutely horrible food for the price. Wouldn't return if it was free. The food from buffet was cold & tasteless. The salad bar was a joke. The only thing I enjoyed was the clam chowder. Wanted to take family to a good seafood restaurant while in PF. Ended up being embarrassed by this place. Don't waste your money.

Jamie Unnerstall

OMG THE VERY BEST CRAB LEGS WE HAVE EVER HAD! THEY WERE SO GOOD AND HOT BROKE PERFECTLY DIDNT EVEN HAVE TO DIG WITH FORK! MUST TRY!! I WAS WONDERING WHY IT WAS SO LOW ON STARS..

David Evans

Very nice people and the food was good. The service was great too. They kept the buffet full of food. The all you can eat crab legs are worth the price.

caroline easley

Wonderful! Well worth the money. All you can eat buffet, something for everyone. Best clam chowder I have ever eaten! Deserts are wonderful. Go hungry, leave full.

Evonne Mcconnell

Food must have been setting all day under lamps. Had a beer which could not be drank. And the price was absolutely too high! Will not be back and will tell all friends about our $121.16 MISTAKE!!

Micaela Barbour

We LOVE this restaurant. We go every time we are in town. I love their crawfish! You will not go wrong with anything on this buffet. A little pricey but well worth it.

James Mandel Jr

Absolutely the worse buffet in pigeon forge, less than 2 dozen food items, low grade seafood items, no attention to detail, dried sauce on edges of pans, crusty mac n cheese, paper thin crab cakes, and low grade crab legs all for $37.99 per adult. $125.00 for 3 adults without drinks. Desserts wrapped in plastic wrap. Better seafood at McDonald's. Buffet valued at $19.95

gonzo outthere

Avoid this restaurant. The seafood tasteless, the price is ridiculous, the decor is depressing, the staff are pleasant. For the money spent here you can eat at a dozen better restaurants within a mile and have money left over.

Nancy Pierce

The hostesses were great. Its buffet style so you wait on yourself other than drinks. We ordered 2 teas and one beer. They were brought promptly to the table. We went to the buffet which had a lot of choices. The catfish was fantastic, the shrimp was very good. The mashed potatoes were really yummy. The calamari was not bad at all. The clam strips tasted ok but were barely warm. The hushpuppies were very bland. Husband said the crab cake wasnt good at all and the fried oysters had been sitting on the buffet for too long. Said the only things he cared for were the catfish and the mashed potatoes. He fixed a salad and said the salad bar had very little to choose from as far as vegetables go. The pecan pie was delicious. It cost around $70 for two buffets with no crab legs with two regular drinks and one beer. Wasnt worth it in our opinion but wasnt horrible. Also we never got our waiter back after he brought our first drinks. We never got refills. We did stop him right before we left to see if the table next to ours was his because they had been waiting forever for someone to take their drink order. It was his table. It wasnt the best experience....and the little girl screaming co instantly at the top of her lungs ughhhhhh. Plus you are all pulled in on top of one another. Too many tables and not enough room.

Jenna Pollard

Don't do it! Everything was just ok at best...not to mention overpriced.

J Holmes

The absolute best crab legs I've ever eaten

Brian Heinzerling

Very good seafood.... The crab legs kept on coming out.... Very fresh

Robert Biddle

Very expensive not much variety fry food over cooked raw food ok just ok deserts good service was great, will not be back

jesse julien

Great crab legs, great service. I highly recommend this place over Joe's Crabshack.

Brian Hyatt

worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant ever. The place was filthy, air conditioning was not working and the food was substandard at best. Not only would I recommend never eating there, but I can promise they will never get another dime of my money

loualty3 Agnew

Had a lot of high hopes for this restaurant. Unfortunately everything tasted the same! There is no flavor, I had to put salt on everything and it's seafood. The best description of flavor I can give is "water" it tasted like water. If the company can invest in SEASONING and SALT I think they might have a good business to eat at but until then I will never eat there again.

Donna Vana

Went there between lunch and dinner. Buffet was empty and even though there was lots of people there they were not adding to the buffet. What food there was was lousy and it is way over priced for what they offer. My suggestion would be to ask to see the buffet before paying to eat.

Ronald Cooley

Poor service considering only need to bring a drink. Tourists I guess I would recommend. Locals there are better places for your dollar

Patty Jefferson

Was Not that Impressed for the price of $37.99 They Did stock crab legs frequently but they were dry and hard to pull meat from. Definitely more work than reward. The Rest of buffet just mediocre...and the desserts tasted old and freezer burned. Was not worth $140 for 3 people AT ALL....Just another tourist trap restaurant

Michael Rose

To expensive way over rated. .place wasn't all that clean .and didn't have a lot to choose from in the bars.few penneys being 40 bucks per person. Not worth it to me

m davis

Well worth the money. And the crablegs weren't over cooked and never ran out. Great treat for my vacation.

Shane Blackledge

If you're looking for a seafood in Pigeon Forge don't look any further this place is absolutely amazing the crab legs are awesome they taste great there's a lot of meat in them the service was five star the food was great there's a nice selection of great Seafood To my surprise everything that I ate tasted really good not just some of it but all of it and let me tell you they really know how to make pie there was so many selections of Pi I didn't even know which one to pick but the one that I picked was the French silk pie and it was one of the best tasting French silk pies I've ever had definitely will be back again

Joshua Drake

Food was overpriced. Very few seafood items on buffet, and most were fried and dry. Side items were either canned or tasted like it came from a box. Service was terrible and no one was smiling. The whole building was in bad shape and not clean at all. The bathrooms were filthy. Save your money and go to McDonald's and get a fish sandwich. You will get better food than this place.

Steve Homer

Is an ok place to eat. The price for the buffet is a little too pricey for what little selection you get. If they expand their buffet and have a more varied selection, this place would rate higher. Even Austin's Steakhouse buffet in Knoxville is much more varied than this place and at a more reasonable price. Ok to visit once in awhile but would not recommend eating there all of the time.

Sonya Franklin

Food was good but for the $$ your glass should never be empty and dirty plates cleared quickly.

charles jenkins

Good seafood and plenty of it. Highly recommend it if your in Gatlinburg or pigeon forge.

Nicole Dogma

The food was horrible. For that price if you want frozen seafood it’s cheaper at red lobster even long john silvers is better than this place. We decided to not do the crab legs based on the website we thought plenty of other food. The …

David French

Food good but mostly deep fried. Very heavy and filling. Could use more broiled foods. Crab legs are extra cost.

Jeremey Turner

Absolutely terrible! The food was old and chewy. You know it’s bad when the best thing you had was Mac n cheese and pecan pie at a seafood buffet! Some of us had alcoholic drinks and those were just as bad. Our bartender at our hotel warned us not to go and we should have listened!

Brisan66

Fried oysters and Mac & Cheese are the only redeeming qualities. This area is for tourists and you’re greeted with a better than you attitude and less than enthusiastic personalities throughout the restaurant. The prices are quite high with a basic adult rate of $24 including tax and an up charge of $13 if you want crab legs (lol? I can’t get them at a Chinese buffet for $10). Drinks are stiff, which I enjoy and the prices are decent considering. The food is mostly fried food, which isn’t impressive considering the effort that’s put into it. Desserts are sitting out on the table which would speak for itself. Avoid this less than stellar experience and go somewhere you’d want to remember while on vacation!

Frank Buchman

Great variety of seafood, crab legs were great and plentiful, service was great, great dining experience.

Mark Barwick

Frozen Seafood warmed and Big Coastal City prices, don't waste your money and time.

Lashonda Hickman

We had a big group due to visiting on a couples trip...the food was AWESOME. the crab legs was huge and delicious not overly seasoned. They had a big variety to choose from for the buffet. Definitely would visit again.

Michelle Fritz

Food was mediocre, at best. A lot of it wasn't fresh and the crab legs were dry and sticky.

Geretha Cornett

Not really worth the money. Yes they have crab legs but rubbery. Tell they are frozen

LaGuardia Beek

The crab legs were steamed just right. Nothing else on the bar was worth much. I was there for the crab legs, so it was worth it.

Jessica Wyatt

So good we've ate here twice in three days

Greg V

The crab legs are good.. More selection for adults than kids... Slightly overpriced... No waiting. Unless you get the crab legs, it's not really worth the money...

LINDA FITZGERALD

Wow go there if you’re in Pigeon forge it was so delicious

Karen Phillips

Omg it's the best seafood place ever. Their crab legs were the bomb, melted in you

Mel M

The food was seasoned well, not a huge selection but satisfying. Friendly staff for the most part;the gentlemen, with the bun maintaining the buffet has NO customer service skills. For the price and smaller selection I won't visit again on this trip, maybe next time.

Carrie Lindsey

This was the first time we had ever eaten here at captain Jim sea food . And I would have to tell you that this is by far the worst place to ever go to and eat. The place is sooo over priced . There was no crab legs on the bar . All of it was nasty. Me and the people we were with are some BIG seafood eaters and it’s the worst we have Ever had. The waiter that we had was by far the worst . She got our drinks, I had Asked for a sweet tea, I got Unsweetened tea . And she didn’t come back at all. We didn’t see her again. It’s sad when you have to leave a restaurant to go to a different place to eat. And then when u tell them about it, they didn’t understand what we were saying because they don’t speak English.

Gym Twitch

The Best thing on the line is the raw oysters, because they didn’t cook them. Most of the items to choose from are fried and each item is fried in the same batter. To each their own, but this place did not blow me away in any aspect of dining. Our server was very nice and attentive though and the service was great on a very busy Saturday night.

Gayle Patterson

Every time I go to Pigeon forge I eat here. The food is so great. Never had a bad meal an employs or as nice as can be. Love it

Lisa Warteman

Ugh! $25 pp for awful food! They are out of their minds. Like other reviewers said go to LJS & save your money. Only edible item was fried shrimp. The Crawfish was mushy & not edible. The crab cakes were okay. The hushpuppies must have been sitting for hours bc they were cold and stale. Frog legs were dried out. I wouldn't even attempt to eat anything else bc it looked so bad. Desserts are premade & awful. Strawberry shortcake with that hideous fake strawberry sauce and zero strawberries on stale dry cake.

Brenda Mcconnell

Food was old but they asked what they could do to make it better. Was just an expensive regret. 120 for 2 adults. Terrible variety of food.

Brittany Deweese

The price of $37.50 a person does not match fairly with the atmosphere or food. Yes, you can eat all the crab legs you can stand but the other food on the buffet is disappointing. The facility is in need of repair on the inside as well as the exterior. Service was also lacking. We left feeling disappointed in what we got for the money we spent.

Jacob Pirolli

All you can eat crab and other seafood favorites. The food quality is good but nothing fancy. Looking for a place to eat your bodyweight in crab this is it. Looking for a high quality fancy salmon or lobster, or tuna steak, keep moving

Kia Nicholas

The food was bland. Crab legs were small and not very well seasoned. The cake was dry. The service was great. The pomegranate tea and frog legs are the best items on the menu. Around $30 for the buffet without crab legs. For the meal with crab legs was around $43, still not worth it. Every item was dissapointing. They definitely need new recipes.

lynn cooley

I love oysters. Oysters so strong, we couldn't them. I love frog legs. Those were cooked by someone who was an amateur cook. We couldn't eat them. (No flavor.) Desserts tasted old. So disappointed. What a waste of our money. (By the way, that was my birthday dinner)

Stela Dragova

Outstanding! Crab legs are to die for! Service was on point, fast and prompt. No complaints here

CINDY BAKER

Very disappointed. Food was cold except the clam chowder. Potatoes were good but not even warm also the macaroni and cheese . Fried clam strips hard and cold. Crab cakes were okay the fish was dry. Didn’t have the crab legs so can’t comment on that. Overall very disappointed with the food. Salad bar did not look appetizing and four choices of cake or pie for dessert. Service from waitress was good very pleasant. Will not go back.

TIM Brigmon

This would be a great restaurant for someone who has never had seafood before in life. The staff is very friendly but the food is flavorless and badly cooked. At $40 a person I would go anywhere else but here

Timmy Matthews

well the service was good but the food was terrible.the raw oysters were frozen off some supplyer, thete in season by the way. everything was processed frozen food, for the price should have been fresh.cost me and the wife 90.00 .strictly for the tourist.

jerry kilpatrick

The food was good the service was very good That is much variety as I thought

Steven tayman

Crab legs were pretty bad on the first batch but ok on the second. Both seemed slightly overcooked. Crab cake was all filler. Service was fairly good though. But for the price, save your money and get crab legs that are done the right way definitely not worth the 37 dollar price tag for such sub par crab legs.

mikki w

It was awesome. Food was hot and plentiful. And the service was so like the food, great! Our waitress, Tiffany, was also terrific! Both she and Captain Jim's get 5 stars from me and my guests. They were busy but we didn't feel rushed. Thanks for the great dinner.

Helen Slack

The food was amazing. Wished they more to offer. But the service was quick for the place to be jammed pack. My only thing was there not being a large variety of other things to choose from. But we enjoyed it!!!

Devin Umberger

Finally a all you can eat crab house that isn't so stingy with the crab. They keep um coming and they're delicious. A fantastic staff as well they were very informative about deals and when I left a empty plate to go back to the bar it was …

Louann Owens

Would have been much better had they not been taking the bar down an hour and a half or so before closing and had we not paid almost $40 to be able to eat over cooked crab legs. The fried shrimp was fried to hard to eat. The crab cakes we pretty good and so was the boiled shrimp other than the fact I prefer my boiled shrimp warm rather than cold.

Jeremy Arnold

Save your money, Chinese buffet food quality and NOT as good as the price reflects. Go to Joe's crab shack and remember the evening. The food at Jim's is very plain and bland. We will not return to captain Jim's. Price for this is max 19 bucks for buffet with crab legs and 12.99 without legs. That's my family's review anyways.

Daniel Kairys

Pros: Delicious food. The crab was very good. The sides all tasted good. The Cheesecake is out of this world. Friendly staff. Cons: Expensive. Some of the Crab got overcooked but you can pick through them.

Danielle Gilbert

The outside of the building needs some help. But the food was pretty good! For two people for the all you can eat crab legs was roughly 85$.

Amanda Jones

This is my all time favorite place to eat crab legs. They are hot and fresh and cooked perfectly. So delicious. I can't comment on the other food myself, because I only eat crab when I'm there, but my family loves it all!! We drive over 2 hours one way just to eat there when we are craving some crab legs!! Love it!

Tim Hinson

Food was great along with service recommend trying crab their were delicious and they do give senior & military discount

Aaron Keller

Great food! All you can eat

Jada Brown

Not impressed at all with this restaurant! Thought it was going to be a nice seafood restaurant. A bunch of greasy fried seafood. Wont be returning. Oh! And it's either $15 or $20 more if you want crab legs added to your all you buffet.

Jessica Simmons

Buffet was great with an awesome selection to include crab legs. The food and service was good. However, the price was ridiculous. I would never go back solely based on price. We've eaten other seafood buffets with crab legs with the same quality and never paid over $60 for 2 people. Prepare to drop $90.

Vance Ruebel

HORRIBLE !!! the whole place isn't worth it it's over priced for the bad food they sell the normal buffet is $25+ and is small no option for food and if you pay the extra for the crab its $37.99 and the crab is DRY and has No flavor at all the crab meat was stuck to the shell and tough all the food on the buffet looks old and soggy the fried food is dripping grease even the salad bar is disgusting the lettuce was brown and limp. The service is just as bad as the food waited 15 minutes after being seated to get anything from the waitress Don't go here it's not worth it !

christine Owens

Food good.. could have better selection . Price a little high. Only have buffet no menu. So if your looking for a salad. Get ready to pay a lot for it.

Casper Slick

The catfish was okay at best. Definitely not worth the price for a seafood buffet and you pay for your drinks separate lame!!!!!

Greg Wallace

Very poor selection for price. Food was barely warm at the most. Used to be pretty decent a few years back. But def 1 star place now. Will not go back

Unique Homes

Crab leg buffet was good. So many options to choose from and tasty desserts. Not to mention try the liquid seaweed yum yum.

Kaelyn Harris

This restaurant was hands down the worst place I’ve ever eaten. The crab legs were dry and rubbery, causing the meat to stick to the shell. The buffet itself is nothing special—I’ve had better from school cafeterias. My sister and I went home queasy, not just from the food but the prices as well. $25 for a buffet per person without crab legs?? And then $40 for WITH crab legs? Absolutely unreasonable for the quality of food and service we got. If you value your stomach, STAY AWAY.

Sara Moore

The crab was severely overcooked to the point you can never get it out. I’m guessing it’s good for business in the sense you get so tired of trying to pull out the meat that you just stop eating. The other sides and seafood were mediocre. I thought if the food wasn’t good we could it least get decent service, but that wasn’t the case either. Took 15 minutes after being seated for the waitress to finally take our drink order, then another 15 to get two glasses of water. She was rude throughout the entire dinner. Definitely NOT worth the money ($37.99, $42.10 w/ tax) for the food and service.

Levita Benson

I expected a wonderful culinary experience since the buffet was almost $25 without and $40 with crab legs; however I was highly disappointed. The fish looked good but was undercooked, crab cakes were cooked too soft, side dishes were nothing special and the desserts tasted like something I could fix in my own kitchen. So disappointing!!

James Bougher

Crab legs do I need to say anything else. They were delicious. And never ending. I believe there was a salad bar too. I just never made it passed the crab legs

Jenny

Food was good could of had more on buffet but was good server not so did attend to us left plates stack up on table

Vince McNemar

Cause I love crab legs They were cooked just right

Angela Brossia

Absolutely great place to eat. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Delicious food and great service. Will definitely be eating here every time we are in town.

Jessica Atkins

Good food, Great service. Love the buffet options. Wonderful staff, very friendly. Would recommend coming here if in the area.

Darryl Freels

Its pretty good as far as buffet's go, a little bit pricey when you add in all you can eat crab legs, but then again it is all you can eat so don't be shy. I did like that the crab clusters were not drowned in water like you tend to get at Chinese restaurants that offer them. These were properly steamed and had a good flavor

juanita crudup

Food is great. Variety of foods. Tasty too. Will visit again

Jill Olds

Would not return unless going for a crab feast. If you can eat 37.99 worth of crab this is a good place for you. The seafood other than crab that you can eat at the 24.99 rate was fried shrimp, oysters, crab cakes and stuffed flounder. They did offer frog legs. Drink not included. Nothing special about the ambiance.

Haley Parchman

Great food, but very poor service.

Michele Tremaine

Good food. Good place to stop when your hangry and want seafood.

Lisa Ward

It just wasn't good. Tasteless food and expensive prices. Don't waste your time.

TARA BOWLES

One star is being extremely gracious. Worst food ever. Worst service. Not worth the money. Cold items were hot. 2 desserts was not an “assortment”. PLEASE DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THIS PLACE. Disgusting!!!!! And it was very hot inside.

Ian Curry

My family we ate @ this restaurant for the 1st time Celebrating our 25th Anniversary & our daughter 8th Birthday. The big guy sat us outside we unknowingly that it was smoking he never indicated that it was who in their right mind would seat anybody w/kid's in an smoking area. We asked to be seated else where he never gotten w/us continue to take in guess only interested in the money. The crabs also were extremely salty to say the least we couldn't believe our eyes we saw rats underneath the outside deck instead the money comes 1st & not cleanderness we spoke to a female manager she didn't seem to care she said I only work here the owner's from Europe.

Nick Curry

Services was okay. Nothing bad but nothing special. The real problem is the price. The buffet is a 2 star buffet at a 4 star price. It cost me $50 Dollars after tax and tip for only one person to get the crab legs added. They have low quality, Over cooked, dry and bland food. They have okay dessert but you can only choose between pie and cake. Usually, if I spent $10-$25, on a buffet of that caliber, after tax and tip. I would say, “Well, it is cheap...so don’t expect more”. But when you pay $50 you should expect and get more. I could go to outback with someone else or a steakhouse by myself and get two drinks plus an appetizer for $50. I hope this place can either charge less or pick up the quality....I don’t like seeing businesses struggle but the truth is the truth. Also, (IMO) get the crawfish off the buffet line. It was tragic. It was black, brown and blue inside with no good flavors. If you want it on the menu....do way better. Look up a single recipe or visit Louisiana. Also, crawfish should not sit in water after they finish cooking and soaking. They should be strained and left to sit out hot. Eaten in 30 minutes or less. That is why they are a bad buffet food. Seafood buffet or not.

Lesa Morris

Most Delicious seafood We've ever eaten. We will definitely be going back.

Brenda Villeneuve

Low quality, frozen food warmed under heat lamps. Old facility needs serious updating. Nice interns from around the world working there, but food was VERY expensive for what you get.

robert wortham

Overpriced freezer burnt seafood......nasty I'll never go back

Philip Workman

Went on a weekender to Pigeon Forge. Wanted some crab legs, read reviews for this restaurant and felt it would be good. It was not even acceptable. Most if not all of the food on the buffet was not at temperature and tasted old, not fresh. Crab legs were not fresh and did not taste good. Crab meat stuck to the leg and was very dry. Salad bar had brown wilted lettuce, did not eat. Told mgmt about this issue and told the lettuce was fresh, put out this morning, this was at 2 pm. Said all the food was prepared and steam table was working as needed.

Stephanie Goolsby

We ate here a few years ago while on vacation and it was delicious! This time around was gross! Crab was so dry like they steamed it that morning and it just set all day! The lettuce at the salad bar was brown :( Was NOT worth the price at all! We will not be going back. Our waitress was good about filling our drinks and taking care of us but the food was just AWFUL!

Patricia Taylor

The food was very good. With crab legs $40. Not very nice on the interior but clean. Great service. Could use some updates on inside and outside. You're going for the food. Buffet had a wide selection without the crab legs.

charles Evans

I would not recommend. First is the price... for $37 a plate, I'd expect the hushpuppies to no be stale tasting, the cod to taste fresh and there to be no ants crawling over the silverware dispenser. It gets two stars because the catfish …

Red Poole

Good food but a little Pricey. All in all good experience. Every waiter and waitress is Either from Russia or the Ukraine so can. E a little hard to understand them sometimes but they do there jobs very well

Hollis Armstead

Super pricey for a very small buffet and low quality food. If you pay the extra for crab legs be prepared to wait a really long time to get them and they are not even cooked right. Extremely disappointed and definitely not worth wasting your money on.

Nytoyia Windon

Run! Okay so I was on my way to the Chop House when I remembered my husband saying something about all you can eat crabs. When we remembered the name I read the reviews and immediately wanted to continue on the planned route, however I listened to my husband and tried what was suppose to be a seafood restaurant. The selection was horrible, the food was horrible the ambiance was horrible and I paid 90.10 for 2 people for this horrible experience.

Todd Hall

Hometown, family style restaurant. Our waitress Megan provided excellent service. She made the experience even better. Crab legs, crawfish, frog legs and more...

Robert Hogeland

Great selection on the buffet. Here's my kid about to devour his 3rd huge plate of crab legs.

Jason Simmons

Went for a Birthday dinner. Didn't bother with the crab legs. Price is on a chalk board. Maybe they change it often? It was about $25 a person without crab legs. Quite a spread of different seafood options and some non-seafood options as well. Smallest oysters I've ever seen served. No reservations and wait can be an hour or better at times. Staff was great and friendly.

rachel walker

It might be something spectacular for this area but to me it's just a regular old seafood buffet. Nothing out if the ordinary. And way over priced for what you actually get. I'm sure that the prices are high because of the location, right on the main drag. In the town where I live, we have the same exact items plus so much more for $13.99. But as I said, it was good but they could do so much better for the price they charge.

Jason Price

Love this place, all you can eat seafood. Great crab legs, and the food bar offers a lot of good choices. Staff has always been friendly. A little pricey, but let's face it, for all you can eat seafood..it's a deal.

Blake Haynes

Seating is limited so a heavy crowd would leave you waiting for a while. They offer teo buffet types. Unlimited without crab legs for around $25 and with crab legs for $50. Kids buffet is around $12. The selection isn't vast, but it covers the main seafood categories. They do offer calimari and frog legs at the time of this post. Most of the items had a good flavor. Their desert area is lacking in taste.

Tracy Freeland

The food wasn't good. Not all the food items was on the bar like stated. They didn't keep the crab legs stocked and they ran out of plates. The restaurant wasn't clean. This was our first and last time eating there.

Nancy Helton

Not worth the money. The food sucked I would not recommend this place to my to anyone. The like to sit people right on top of each other so you can not get up and go to the buffet. You have to wait for ever to be seat. Then when you do to leave you have to wait again for someone to take Your money. For the prce here you can take your whole family to a better restaurant whit friendly staff. I would not waste your time going to this place.

Michelle Hartley

The food was good the crab legs were cooked great not over cooked. It was a little pricey for what you get on the buffet. It was hot inside the restaurant as well not much air flow. Over all good experience but will probably not go back.

Tyrone Sias

I only gave one star because I couldn't give zero, I have eaten seafood from Maine to Key West, this was hands down the worse for the price. As you may notice I'm my reviews I never complain about price for good food. I paid up for the crab legs and glad I did because the was nothing else on that bar worth eating, I felt sorry for people who dont get the crab legs because the bar is very limited in items and nothing had a good taste to it. Had I only ordered the bar I would if left my plate on the table and walked out.

Jeremiah George Chapman

Extremely overpriced, virtually no customer service, the seafood taste like a slightly warmed up can of expired tuna fish, served on a hot toilet seat, with extra mayonnaise. But having to get your own silverware makes it all worth it. Seriously really nasty food.

Dawn Samples

The crab legs are good. But, my daughter doesn't eat them, and the price for the regular buffet is very high for the food just being the quality of any other buffet. So it is not worth us all being able to go together. With the prices as high as they are, you would think the drink would be included, its not. Probably won't go back.

Charles Prowant

Serive was great but food was just plain poor and over priced

Scottie Currington

If your like me and can eat your weight in crab legs, this is the place for you. Great desserts as well.if ya want good seafood this is not the place. Dry, over done no flavors. Pigeon forge on Friday. Again if ya like crab legs it was Great fresh and snapped well. Good sweets. Again I am a crab leg Pig.

Donna Johnson/Adams

When I pay good money for seafood I expect to have it. When my son and I ate their half of the buffet was empty, it looked and tasted as if it had been cooked hours before, when we asked for some of the that was empty to be replaced it never done. I could find better sea food at long John Silvers. Would not recommend to anyone, well maybe my worst enemy.

brittany mora

Atmosphere is strange but all you can eat crab legs

Ginger Jones

The bar was empty at 6 PM. We waited forever and it was not replenished. Not worth the money. Dont waste your time or money.

Carl Cooper

Over priced for what they have to offer.

Karen Linn

Not a huge selection and a little pricey but the crab legs made up for is as they were always fresh and hot. Service was very good. All in all not bad.

Shannon Olive

The crab legs were good!! But the rest of the food wasn’t worth the money. It needs to be cleaned top to bottom. Dusty, and greasy.

Leslie H.

We went for the crab legs and were not disappointed! Perfectly Steamed! Drinks were good too! Full bar. Coconut cream pie was awful. Pecan pie good. Didn't get to try the key lime pie because I was so full. If you're looking for legs, this is the place! I will definitely go again if ever in the area again!

Donna Michael

I think the food was over price and you had to get your own silverware and the napkins are the kind you pulled up . The food was more like cafeteria food and not tasty . They had gumbo but no rice . Not a good thing at all. The fish was not good either . When you first walk through the door you are ask immediately if you want crab legs with your Buffett instead of the waitress asking you . This is not worth it . I give it a 1... The place is nasty ... On your reviews on your web site you are rating yourself highest than it says on here . The waitress was nice but all other staff sucks including the one that meets you at the door . For a meal to be overpriced like this without even silver ware at the table is a disgrace ,

Laura Mendoza

Expensive but the crab legs are good! They keep fresh crab legs out. Really good desserts too.

Jessica Hardy

Extremely overpriced, buffet selection was horrible very little to choose from not to mention the dried out meat better off taking a trip to the beach for some better crab meat for sure!!!! Not to mention the freezer they have where everyone cuts there own dessert after everyone’s dirty hands have been god knows where....too top it off you have to get your own silverware!! If this is the type of service you want then this is definitely the place for you!!! Overall horrible and very disgusting!!!!

Steven Boley

Way over priced for snow crab. The only thing I found good were frog legs. Food was not very good. Crag legs were cold. Staff was not friendly. I've eaten at seafood restaurants and buffets all over the US and this is by far the worst I've ever had. Won't be going back thats for sure.

Barry Smith

Disappointing. The food was average, the price was high. Bathrooms not clean. Red lobster and Joe’s Crab Shack are just a few miles down the road and probably not as expensive and I know the food is better.

Matt Kelch

The food was decent, good service. A bit pricey but not awful. Place is clean.

Darryl Brooks

All the crab legs you can eat, oysters on the half shell, wonderful sides and deserts. What's not to love? If you are into seafood and have a big appetite this is your kind of place!

Tina Stitt

I love crab legs. We have ate here several times. It has always been great... until today. The crab was cold when we first got there. We both had water with lemon, our waitress came by so infrequent, all of our ice was melted and we ran out of water. So not worth the $80+ we paid.

Tin Can Trucker

All you can eat crab legs is what we had. At first I was kind worried that it wasn't gonna be good because of some bad reviews but we were at the one in pigeon forge Tennessee and the best I could tell them reviews where from South Carolina. The legs were kind dry but they tasted pretty dang good. So I thank now I would rather have them that way because it was a heck of a lot less messier. All in all really good place to eat but my wife said her margarita didn't have a taste of alcohol in it. I would go back if I'm ever in the area again.

kason Belcher

The food was not good. The price was too high. Not enough food and dessert options and it smelled horrible in there. I will never go back.

Intelligent Creations

The food wasnt very good and it was to extremely hot inside. Also, the decore was bad everything looked old.

Mary Goodrich

Beer and glass was warm while several dishes were cold that should have been hot. Oysters over cooked and small. Shrimp was WAY over cooked. Chalky tasting, really nasty. Salmon Florentine was good as well as catfish. Now I know why they are alot cheaper than most places. Should be cheaper than that. Could use a good cleaning and some updates. Service staff and others should wear some type of logo shirt. Some were dressed rather ratty.

Shannon Mason

Food was alright but for Tht kind of money...I expected more & a better variety.

carolyn lumpkin

Me and my family have never been to captain jim's before. This place was great great great. I give this place a ten.well done captain jim's!!

Rissa Christopher

I have to say that though I'm not a great fan of Buffet's, this one surprised me. Every single thing they had out was delicious. I and my family went there for lunch because of the raw oysters. We were not disappointed, unfortunately we don't have large stomachs, so there was only so much we could eat. We tried to taste a bit of whatever caught our fancy, but binged out on the raw oysters. If you're ever in the Pigeon Forge area, make sure to check this place out, and do get your money's worth. I promise you won't regret it.The restaurant and food area was clean, food was hot, (well, except for what needed to be on ice like the oysters), the associates that worked there were respectful, welcoming, and always ready to assist customers.

Steven Barnett

We was there on 4/18. All these reviews saying bad things. We had nothing but great service. Everytime I went up to go get crab legs, fresh ones was being brought out. Butterfly shrimp on the grill was fresh and hot. Waiter was on top of drink refills. Service was great. I've been at this restaurant twice and had excellent experience both times. Will be back. One of my favorite places to eat in pigeon forge.

Carrie Williams

If your looking for good food deffinatlely not the place to go! How ever crab legs were good but no where worth $40 nothing is fresh all frozen and you can definitely tell! Want be back advise you not to waste your money either

Ann Shull

It is way priced to high. The food all tasted the same with no flavor. Crab legs was over cooked. Eat somewhere else.
