The food is great. I grew up in a small southern town with great cooks and several things equaled some of the best I have eaten before. The macaroni and cheese may be the best I have ever had. The chicken and dressing was equal to the best and the chocolate pie was as good as my great aunts. The times are a little restrictive for us to get to madison, but we are going to make an effort.

Favorite restaurant in the area. A taste of home cooked meals any day of the week, from friendly staff and at a good price. Everything is delicious, but it's hard to resist ordering the chicken and dressing with cranberry sauce every time. Make sure you check their hours before you go.

Not pleased at all. The pork chop gravy tasted like chicken, the Whiting was not seasoned & the breading was falling off, and it was cooked in old grease. The mac n cheese was not flavorful AT ALL and the cornbread was rubbery. The mashed potatoes and corn both tasted canned/boxed. I wanted this place to be good, but it DEFINITELY missed the mark for me and my girlfriend.

First off, I am from out of town. This place had great reviews so we thought we would give it a try. The long and the short of it is they had great people working here, but the food was not good. My father had the fried chicken, which looked like it had been sitting for quite some time. My brothers and I had the chicken and dressing and it was not good. For sides I had the broccoli and cheese and the Mac and cheese. Both were well over cooked. The broccoli actually had good flavor, but it was quite mushy. This is the first place I have tried in/near Nashville and I hope the rest of the food does not follow this pattern. I give it a 1 for food, but the friendliness of the staff bumps it up another star.

THEY DONT PUT PAPER THE WHITE LINER PAPER OVER YOUR FOOD LIKE LITTLE CEE'S, CATO AND BAILEY'S, DOLLS AND ARNOLD 'S. INSTEAD WHEN YOU OPEN THE PLATE THE BREAD AND FORK IS LAYING DIRECTLY IN THE DAMN FOOD AND THE FORK ISN'T EVEN WRAPPED. THEY JUST APPARENTLY BUY A BOX OF FORKS AND GIVE YOU ONE. EVERYONE DESERVES A SECOND CHANCE AND I'VE GIVEN THEM THREE. NEVERRRRRR AGAIN!!!!

Great southern home cooking! Food is excellent although the decor is rather sparce and plain. Prices a little bit more than one would expect, but we'll worth it. Turnip greens, chicken and dressing, Mac and cheese and fried cornbread are outstanding! Take cash...theres a fee for using your debit card!

For us white folks, we call this soul food! We absolutely were satisfied. We are not from the area, so when we saw how busy the parking was...we were unsure if we should eat there. It was surprising! Walked in and stood in line, like a lunch line at school. The line went quick. Selected our food and chess pie. For two people our bill came to $22. Everyone was so nice! Compare food to Savannah, GA Mrs. Wilkes restaurant.
