Sadly very disappointed because we did not expect a bad experience. Our order was wrong and had to send it back. It was still wrong when it came back the 2nd time. Ice tea was bitter and had to wait for more to be made. Service was iffy at best. Waiter acted like the issues were no big deal, never offered to correct our order the 2nd time, and acted like she did not have a clue how to address the problems. People sitting beside us had a similar experience. First visit back in awhile. Maybe the last. Too many other choices.

First time here we came right as they opened. I came with family and some family friends. My father said it's normally better. I ordered the rare - medium rare grilled avocado burger with fries. It looked good upon first glance but at a little bit closer look it looked okay not great but not horrible. But when I went to taste the burger and fries I was not impressed nor pleased. My burger was supposed to be rare to medium rare, but it was very well done and dry. The fries looked a little crispy/ old. They tasted like cardboard and like they have been sitting out for a long time which they shouldn't being as they opened at 11 and we ordered at 11: 20. I wasn't impressed. Wait staff was super friendly but someone wasn't ontop of their stuff in the kitchen sadly... Probably won't go back for awhile.

Great variety when it comes to meat. Good craft beer. If there's a burger joint for non-pretentious hipsters in Brentwood, this is it.

Kate Butler

Fantastic food, great service! My hubby and kids love the burgers and I love the kale and apple salad! The shakes are AMAZING!

Chris Koczaja

Amazing food...pricier for a burger joint sure...but this is farm to table yumminess that is well worth it! It was tough to pick, but they have a "slider" option that allows you to get 2 half size burgers so you get to sample more of the menu. Not a single truffle fry on the side went to waste either. Also has good draft beer selection including a lot of good local brews. Very polite staff and quick service...family friendly atmosphere and a go-to our restaurant list.

Happy they offered the impossible burger

What happened to this place? My wife and I frequented this place often in 2018 and the food was delicious. Today 5/25/19 we ate there again and will most likely never go back. The food was really not that good and I take offense to a server whose first question is “would you like a mimosa or a beer?”. I do not drink alcohol and it would be nice to be simply asked what I would like to drink. Either way the food wasn’t good like it used to be. Whatever changes that have been made in the kitchen or management, need to be thought a little bit more. My meal was wrong, the fries are exactly what others say, oily and soggy. There are many other places that serve burgers to choose from in my opinion.

I'm almost heartbroken to even be writing this here but enough is enough- Had I been writing this review a few years back, 5 stars wouldn't have been enough. My husband and I moved to Cool Springs back in 2015 and have spent more time eating at Burger Up than just about any other restaurant. It's our first stop to take friends and family when they come visit us from out of town but the last few times, we were embarrassed and apologizing and even paying our out-of-towners bill due to the experience. For starters, the draft list has changed for the worst and I can no longer enjoy my favorite Black Abbey beer with my burgers. I am far from picky when it comes to beer options but the latest rotation doesn't pair at all with the menu, it's honestly confusing. We still get and love fried pickles but have had them forgotten when ordered as an appetizer twice now. I have always gotten two of my three favorite sliders (backyard, woodstock, and ramsey) and now the Ramsey has disappeared off the menu. The reason we continue to come to this location instead of the others (since we no longer live in cool springs) is the overall laid-back vibe, the sliders, and our favorite beers. All 3 have gone at once! The service has also gotten incredibly slow and just plain messy. We have been so confused lately as to what the heck is going on. I understand that we were once "regulars" and servers change but it pains me to say that the service is now incredibly lacking. It really is so sad but the upside is that we are saving a pretty penny by not spending our money here like we used to. It feels like the end of an era, I don't know how or why it has changed this way but there's really nothing I can do about it other than let you all know that this B-up location is not the same one I once would 10/10 recommend. The building and location are the same but that is just about it.

Interesting burgers ! Pleasent staff and decor. Good times and food here.

Shane Farmer

Great food and staff!

jimmie turner

Food was high quality deliciouseness, the atmosphere was chill and comfortable and the server Josh was personable and excellent. The food came out quick and hot. Great experience. Highly recommended.

Jeff Gordon

Substituted the impossible burger on a different burger than the default. Was excellent. The red cabbage coleslaw was the perfect side. Their ketchup is home made. Great place!

Michael Wong

Earl Grey Old Fashioned is my all time favorite. I keep going back for more. I tried their Hawaiian Burger and it was delicious. Their sweet potato fries are different than other restaurants but still tasty. And the Salmon bites are great but they could use a bit smaller cucumbers because why cut cucumbers with a butter knife as it was a steak

Tonya M

Great food and awesome service ! I had the Lamb burger and it was delicious!

Michael Rickles

The food was okay here. Got the sliders and the burgers were well done. Sweet potato fries weren't too bad but needed seasoning. Not too bad for a quick bite, but nothing I think I would crave.

John Lyneis

Great burger. Great service.

Tom DiNella

Nice staff, tasty food, quick service.

Terry Huseth

Nice decor, great service. Hamburgers done the way they were ordered.

stan johnson

Good burgers and Gluten free buns!

L Mathis

It was our first time and we actually liked it. We shared the mini burgers since we weren't that hungry. We also ordered the sweet potato fries. It was good, I just wish they were crispier. We ordered the krispy kreme pudding and I didn't like it at all. It tasted like bread that was soaked in warm water. The burgers were good. We'll be back to try their other burgers and we'll make sure to order a different dessert.

Hank Sprouse

Great burgers and fries..really good house made ketchup and awesome customer service

Sandra Grant

I went to the Burger Up for the first time in East Nashville and it was wonderful. The second time was in Franklin, that too was awesome. However I went back to the one in Franklin yesterday and I was very disappointed as they were having a photo shoot and seemed not to give customers the time of day. They should have closed the restaurant if they cannot do both!

Conan Stuart

Quick service, quiet and stylish dining area. They serve locally sourced beef as well.

Anthon095

Disappointed. Burger was not seasoned and the bun looked like someone had sat on it. The tomato sauce they provided had no taste. Very expensive for what was provided. Beers were also pretty high. Also took forever to get our food and drinks.

Kathryn Snyder

I was in there on Sunday night with my mom, and I was very disappointed... I've been coming to Burger Up for years, it has been my absolute favorite burger place, but the service and quality was much poorer than usual when we went on Sunday. When we got there, there were a good amount of people there, but it didn't seem too slammed. Our server maybe came to our table 3 times - To take our order, to bring dessert, and to bring us our check. Both my mom and I had to wait over 20 minutes for refills on water and tea, which another server took care of when they saw our empty glasses. I will say our burgers were pretty good- but we had to ask yet another server to bring ketchup and mint sauce (to go with the lamb burger) because it was not served like it usually is - our server had disappeared again. We then decided to order the bread pudding for dessert - which was obviously microwaved because it was chewy and rock-hard frozen in the middle; we ended up sending it back. We were very disappointed, and as much as I love the burgers, it will be a while before we come back due to that poor experience.

George Benjamin

Really for a burger, chicken wings, fries, and drinks $35. The burger was ok, but the wings were stone cold, and it was approximately 25 minutes between order and served. You can get a better burger and fries at Five Guys for half the price. The service was ok , but our waitress had around six tables and couldn’t keep up. The chairs and tables are rather spartan. Hit the accelerator and keep going.

BB Wolfe

Expeeeeensive....better burgers at Sonic

Hunter Hughes

This is a good place to get a hamburger. They have a lot of specialty hamburgers. Their fries are very good too. They make their own ketchup. It is a very trendy place. Overall I would recommend it. It is the best hamburger I've had in Nashville so far. It is a family friendly place, and is reasonable priced.

Matthew Dunavant

The best part is the food. High quality ingredients from local sources and plenty of options for those with dietary restrictions. The atmosphere is high energy which is great for some (I personally am drawn to a relaxed feel), but the burgers and sides are what keeps me coming back.

Jason Gibson

Just OK. There are several other places with better burgers and way better fries within 5 minutes of here. My burger was dry, the bun was soggy and the fries are greasy/soggy. $15 is too much for this plate. The atmosphere was nice and the people were friendly. I was in for lunch so I didn't try any cocktails but the bar looks nice.

mackenzie evans

Great burgers that can accommodate all diets and preferences. I go for the salmon burger or turkey burger. Homemade sauces are also a win

Vincent Vilay

Went here for the 1st time today with some friends. Absolutely delicious, no doubt about it. Yummy. Would come here again. Staff was also very friendly.

Steven Boley

Good food, decent beer selection. Enjoyed playing corn hole on the back.

Brad McDonald

The food and service at this location are almost always excellent. We are regular customers and appreciate the food quality you get here. Carly is an especially great server.

Michael Mitchell

Great food and attentive waiter. Had some less than perfect experiences in the past, but this time they got it right. My only problem is they are discontinuing the Krispy Kreme bread pudding and they didn't have any. Never tasted it, but I'm a bread pudding fan. Nonetheless, we will be back.

Philip Zimmerman

The staff are friendly and the food is good. Personally I don't like the house ketchup, but that's a matter of personal taste. It's not the cheapest burger you'll find but the amount and quality of food make it a good value.

Michael Cabra

Good location, unique food and drinks. Always fresh ingredients super clean. The staff has always been attentive and friendly.

Timothy Maltry

The restaurant is along the lines of one my wife and I frequent in Ohio, The Rail. They use locally supplied meats, cheeses, pasta and beer. There are a few tv's to watch whatever game is playing. Barn siding and metal make up the decor. The kids plates are pretty cool, they look like a paper plate with a cow picture in the center, I guess to inspire clean plate. The burgers are very good, I wish they were cooked a little more toward medium rare, ours were slightly over cooked, but still tasty. The fries were hot and fresh, there are options for a charge lime making them truffle fries, or changing to sweet potato fries. They offer a homemade ketchup, very tasty. Be sure to ask for Hunter if he's working, very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu

Hannah Woody

Pretty good, their fries are well done, if you like them that way, their house ketchup tasted more like marinara to me. The buns are fantastic. The burger itself was pretty good.

Eric

Stopped by for lunch and glad I did! Although they were busy on a weekend afternoon we were seated quickly. Ordered what you may guess being a burger joint and I have to say it was a pretty good burger, ordered an appetizer which was also good. Service was attentive and very friendly. The atmosphere was interesting and the restaurant seemed to well maintained. I’d recommend and look forward to visiting again next time I’m in the area.

Tracey Neal

He's a meat eater... i am NOT! But this place served us both well. The food was good and the sauces well matched what they were provided for. The waitress was helpful and knowledgeable about the various menu items available and the price was fair for what we were given... had trouble eating it all! Great place for best of both meat eaters and vegetarians to blend well.

Andrew Moschiano

Love this spot. Moved to Franklin two weeks ago and was introduced to Burger Up. Have made it a point to go twice a week. Great atmosphere, good service, and a really nice menu.

Gina Bunger

Great lamb burger.

Eva Angelina Romero

Love, Love their kale salad and of course their sweet potato fries are amazing. Great staff and also take good care of their customers!

Fred Drews

We've been here several times and really love the food. My two issues are the bar and the prices. It looks like a full bar, but my wife has had to change her drink order three or four times just to find something they could make. And I've gotten to where I think the prices are just too high.

Allan Tate

I absolutely love hamburgers. I'm like wimpy off Popeye except I dont need to pay next Tuesday. With that said, i was in town training for a new job. I searched for best burger and Burger up was number 3 but it was closest to my hotel. I was not let down at all. I took it with me so I could kick back and enjoy. This burger was a delight to my taste buds. The onion rings were great also. I work in the food industry so you have to really be on top of your game to impress me. This burger didn't disappoint. I highly recommend Burger up.

K Denise

My food was amazing and I enjoyed very minute of it, however, the staff was not friendly to me at all and it almost seemed as if they didn't want me there. I felt extremely uncomfortable, which was saddening about it seemed like a place I wanted to bring my spouse to, one Saturday night! the environment seemed great but I didn't feel welcomed.

eric watson

I took my mother-in-law and sister-in-law who were in town from Houston, TX. The waitress named Elizabeth (Dark hair, looks to be middle eastern descent) WAS THE ABSOLUTE WORST WAITRESS I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED IN MY LIFE!!!! First, she got the order wrong, and when we told her it was wrong she made no effort to apologize. My wife who hadn't ordered, decided to keep the burger that was wrong and Elizabeth stated "We will charge you for that", while still issuing no apology. She didn't re-fill drinks, she didn't pick up empty plates, and she NEVER came back to check on the table. Yet, we could visibly see her providing tables over from us "service with a smile", re-filling their drinks, and the usual small talk you're accustomed to with good customer service. We asked for ketchup, she didn't return for 5 minutes, so I had to ask another waiter for ketchup who brought it right out in seconds (the waiter received the customary 30% tip I provide for great customer service, and no I didn't leave ONE red cent for Elizabeth). The only saving grace for our visit was the manager Hailey. She was so warm, friendly, and energetic. She provided apologies on Elizabeth's behalf, and gave us the service "we paid for" for the duration of the visit. However, I'm still giving the one star based on having an employee as terrible as Elizabeth. She shouldn't work at a homeless shelter, providing free meals.....Yes, she's that horrible!!!!!!

Nayt

Used to be our favorite spot. The last three visits have been odd. Staff seems uncomfortable, beer selection is worse, and cocktails are like worse versions of what they were. Just simplifying in the wrong direction.

Rob Stevens

Garbage place run by garbage people. Really, I mean garbage. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

John Rex

Great burger with good quality fries. Their house ketchup was a little too much like marinara sauce for my fries, but the fries by themselves were good.

Mark Pillow

Great burger, one of the best! Excellent service! Comfortable and stylish decor. Our whole experience was great.

Cheryl Foster

Nice place, yummy burgers, great staff, a bit pricey

Craig Poe

It was ok, for the price. It seemed to be just another "trendy" restaurant in an area that is inundated with "trendy" restaurants. On par with Red Robin. I like Red Robin, but if I wanted Red Robin, I would have gone to Red Robin.

Love MySubaru

We were visiting the Lane Museum which is awesome and finished in time for a late lunch. Thought we would try the Burger Up in Cool Springs, TN. Avoid this restaurant at all cost!! Overly priced for what you get. The food and the …

Matthew Price

Great atmosphere, great burgers. They have the impossible burger which is getting impossible to find!

Amylane Duncan

Friendly service and nice atmosphere. The menu is different from the 12 South location, but they were accommodating with making a gf turkey burger for me.

justin bolger

good food, fun atmosphere.

Savannah Hodge

Good burger and service.

Aaron Campbell

Definitely met the good reviews I'd read. Excellent burgers, friendly staff and a good kids menu. I highly recommend the truffle fries! Nice place to sit with friends and family. Would definitely be a regular place to visit if I lived in the area.

Todd Sullivan

Good burgers, salads and sides

Alexander Gildenberg

We are literally going there every week. It’s a nice cozy local spot for burgers with locally sourced ingredients, great salads, beers and wines.

Robin Bedwell

Very yummy food! Great service and clean!!!

Nathanael B.

Excellent impossible burger with gluten free option. Fries were a bit greasy but good. First person that answered the phone put me on hold and never came back (Waited 10 minutes). Second person was friendly and took my order immediately.

Katie Wreyford

The Backyard Burger was GREAT! Loved their dijon sauce. Only thing a little disappointing was the sweet potato fries-- they were essentially sliced sweet potatoes-- missing a lot of crunch. The waitress was fantastic though!! Overall a great place I'd come back to. (Tip: Appetizers are half-off on Tuesday!)

Daniel Dingeldein

Awesome burgers! Love the variety of the specials!

r barr

The service was great and the food was delicious. Will definitely be going back.

It's disappointing to say that I will never return to this restaurant. I've been a longtime patron of Burger Up in Cool Springs, and over the years have had fantastic experiences, even going so far as to consider Burger Up a sort of home away from home. The food has always been great, staff was friendly, and it's close to both where I work and live. However, I can't justify continuing to support a restaurant that claims to be community-driven, while not being willing to honor my rehearsal dinner agreement that was made with a previous managerial staff. Recently the top brass has changed at this restaurant. Back in December I had worked out a plan, including pricing, to have my fiancee and I's rehearsal dinner at Burger Up, and we were thrilled to share our favorite place with our friends and family. We had negotiated a reasonable rate for 40-50 people to rent out the patio and all seemed well and good. Fast forward to 12 days before the rehearsal dinner date, when I was informed that the rate would be almost double what we initially negotiated, and still a third higher for less time than we had originally been told we could book the patio space for! This was after a month of will-they or won't-they, where we couldn't get any face time with the new GM about making sure that our rehearsal dinner would still be honored. To say we felt avoided is an understatement, as there were ample opportunities to talk considering we dine at the restaurant between 1 and 4 times a week. Now we are sitting less than two weeks away from our wedding having to scramble to find a different scenario. Burger Up has always been a great restaurant, but considering the recent experience my fiancee and I have, it leads me to question whether the new management structure cares about the community-driven ethos that the restaurant expounds, and how it will treat other customers who have spent countless evenings in their restaurant. I would avoid this place at all costs.

Jill Mason

Great burgers with lots of variations, fries are awesome as well. Loved the atmosphere of the place. Will be back!

Eric Bynum

Love the selection here.

Anthony

The burgers are delicious and the fries are homemade, but the price outweighs what you get. $36 for two burgers alone is far too much.

jonathan purkey

Great Burger and so many options. The fries are to die for as well

Thomasetta Anderson

My daughter and I really enjoyed ourselves, it was a nice environment, the waitresses were really nice and food was served fairly quickly, and it was really good. Prices are a little high but it was a nice place. I will visit again.

Caitlin Jo Ramsey

This is my favorite place around for burgers and homemade milkshakes. The ingredients are very high quality. For healthy options, salads are available topped with chicken breast, bison burger or salmon fillets.

Rob Kingrey

$17 burgers. Good but there are better. A little pretentious for burger joint

Jason Jeong

Great farm to table burgers and truffle fries are really good! Service is also great. They mixed up the order (which sometimes happens), but made it right super quick.

Teri Day-Sorrentino

Fabulous burgers!! Good french fries. They make their own ketchup. Yummy. Fried ndly staff. Can't wait to go back.

Kim Holladay

The food sounded and looked delicious, but a lunch for two (with an appetizer and one soda) came to $50. I had a simple hamburger. It was dry and loaded with taco seasoning. My side was a spinach salad which had a rotten tomato in it. We had the chicken & lettuce appetizer, which had a good taste, but some of the lettuce was brown. The biggest shock was the cost. Way over-priced.

Lindsey B

My favorite, favorite burger place of all time. The staff is always so kind and friendly. They have THE BEST burgers and you definitely have to try their sweet potato fries (worth a $1 extra). Their honey mustard is the best I've ever had as well. Love that they buy their meat from local TN farms. This is a staple for me. You have to go to Burger Up if you ever visit Nashville.

Timothy Trudeau

I liked this place a lot. A co-worker recommended it and he was right, a fantastic burger. The fries were just ok and the price was quite high. Adjust those 2 things and we got ourselves a 5 star joint!

Mrs Smith

My family has patronized burger up almost weekly since they opened. There is new management and they have changed some things up that will have us rarely coming back. First, 20% gratuity is added to all TO GO orders. We always tip on to go orders, but 20% is over the top considering there is very little service involved. Also they started adding 20% gratuity to parties of 6 or more. Which is a shame bc it means the tip turns out less that we would normally give. Food wise: The bacon has been so freezer burnt that it makes the whole burger taste freezer burnt and not enjoyable. I also think they changed up how they do their truffle fries bc the last 2 times I ordered them they tasted way less of truffle than they used to.

Lance Adams

Best burger for the price: beef, black bean/quinoa, or vegan patties. Mac and cheese bites, fried pickles, truffle fries, sweet potato fries are all great. Locally sourced ingredients, full bar, and a patio for the summer months. One of my families' favorite restaurants!

Debra Sheridan

I work in the Cool Springs area frequently for various projects. Today I had a break between sessions and decided to grab a beer and a bite at a local establishment. After seating myself at the bar and waiting, and waiting, staring intently at servers standing around talking amongst themselves, waiting, and waiting, finally a man stepped behind the bar and asked me what I wanted. I asked for a menu and a Heinekin, please. "We don't have Heinekin." Ok, may I see the beer list, please? "Well, we're not really a beer place." He rattled off the few choices, none that I would drink. I thought to myself, why am I wasting my time and money at a place that first of all can't be bothered to serve me without enduring a long wait first, and then doesn't offer anything I care to ingest. I said thank you, picked up my purse and headed to Burger Up where I knew they had food and drink I would enjoy. No sooner had I seated myself at the bar than Kristian brought me a Hap and Harry's, complete with my necessary straw, and his customary big, beautiful smile. He asked me how I was and if I'd be eating. What a contrast!!!! Not only does Burger Up serve great tasting food, the best nachos in Tennessee for one, but everyone is warm, welcoming, and works hard to ensure each visit is a positive experience. Particularly well done today, Kristian. Thank you

Caitlyn Yontz

My girlfriend and I were trying to finish our meal but we heard a waiter at the bar say three and a half minutes and then says they have fourth more seconds. As it turns ten o'clock he says goodbye. The waitress hadn't given us our check yet so we couldnt leave. He was incredibly rude. My girlfriend and i work alot and were just trying to have a good meal. We felt rushed. Worst first impression ever. We won't come back. I didnt expect this kind of treatment from this area.

Yvette Broughton

Great, fresh burgers. They also have a bison burger on the menu. I was visiting in Franklin.... if I’m there in the future I definitely will eat here again.

Wesley Bezuidenhout

Burger wasn't cooked all the way and they didn't tell me or ask how I wanted it cooked and a bit too much smoke flavor. Service took long too.

Em Run

Kinda over priced. Small shake $7, BUT the triple berry salad was great, and wait staff was kind.

Anca Gooje

Amazing food with original sauces & combinations. Highly recommended.

Kevin Fischer

Burgers great, onion rings were bla... use fried pickle batter on onion rings.

Tracy Lehmann

Burger and service were good!

Sabrina Jackson

Good food, Good price. Good service

Susann Burney

Yummy Food and Great Service.

Jason Michael

Laid back. Great music, not too loud. Fantastic burgers. Go, experience a damn good burger with some friends!

Tony Weir

Had the slider combo to try different specialty burgers. They were both very good. Service was good and food delivered fast.

Joe Guy

Always great burgers. And the homemade ketchup is a nice touch. I tend to eat here when I'm in Franklin.

Rebecca Thompson

Tasty Joint. This was my first time ever in this place, my son and I were in the area and decided to give it a go. It is pricey but definitely tasty. We both ended up getting bison burgers but he got regular fries & I got sweet potato fries. The sweet potato fries came with the same honey Dijon mustard that was on the burger, which is good because I felt like I needed to add more to mine. Dipping the fries into it was interesting. Neither of us tried their homemade ketchup that was on the table, maybe next time. All in all, a great experience and I want to return to try more of what they have to offer. Be sure to check out their specials too! We saw them too late and didn't realize it was on the table.

Adam125

Great food. Prices are a bit high.

Bradley S.

The burgers are amazing; the atmosphere is quaint. It's a pricey extravagance. Downsides include the sticky tables, and the place is a loud, echo-chamber. It is difficult to carry a conversation with 6 people at the table.
