The owner is very rude and unprofessional. I tried to call in my order on multiple occasions even when they first opened with no customers there and received a negative rude response along with rushing you. Then when I went in to pick up the order the owner was talking with another worker a man whom she was talking about things she shouldn't have been customers and things going on within the business once again in a rude manner. The chicken is really good the next best thing I think to Prince's but the owner needs to humble herself. It's very sad to see another Nashville native/black woman be this way, but I will not be getting anything else from 400 degrees.

This was my first time trying this establishment. I was highly impressed I called in my order the rep taking the call made sure to make me aware of the wait time. When I arrived my order was ready to go and fresh I was greeted immediately by the owner and the young lady working the register. Their customer service was so refreshing. The food was so tasty and fresh some of the best hot chicken that I have had the tea was a little sweet but that was to be expected and it was no big deal I diluted it with water. This is a really good establishment all around great customer service and food

The very best hot chicken in Nashville! It's ALWAYS consistent EVERY time, super moist and crispy and flavorful. Heat levels are on point...and if you're in the know, you can grab heat levels that are off the official menu. They will have their brick and mortar spot open very shortly now; so to anyone who is complaining about the food truck and long waits (that happens when you're super popular), hang in there! Calling ahead is always your best option. Cannot miss this one y'all! Edit: their brick and mortar is finally open! Come by, sit a spell, and enjoy the greatest hot chicken you'll ever taste!

Truly one of the gems of the Nashville Hot Chicken scene, 400 Degrees combines great food with great people making it. The chicken can be as hot as you can stand it - 100, 200, and 400 degrees are on the menu, but masochists in the know can get 800 or even 900 degrees. No one should visit Nashville without trying this place out.

This was our favorite hot chicken place. We havent been able to make it out to the location since they moved off clarkville pike. We were on a mission to visit today, first time in a year at least. We got there at 3:54pm. Soon as we walked in, they said" We are closed. Says online open until 5pm. She said they had already took the last order of the day. No apology just sent us on our way. The food was good. The only problem I had was that I was expecting a restaurant where I would be able to sit down and eat. After making a 40 minute drive, I pulled up and saw it was a good truck. Have to wait a bit which is fine but I had to drive all the way back home to eat it since the wings can be messy.

Legitimately the best hot chicken in Nashville, currently they are operating out of their food truck while their building is being prepped for the new opening (I'd recommend calling beforehand to place order as it does take a little time). Would put this right alongside Prince's hot chicken. The staff and management are superb, great people.

I recently had the opportunity to spend a couple of weeks in Nashville. My Hosts took me to 400 Degrees to try the hot chicken. I'm no novice to hot/spicy foods, having often deliberately gone for the hottest on the menu, when I was in the army. To be cautious, I started on the hot chicken 100; and the others who were with me went for the 200 & 400. The 100 was great; and I tasted the 200, which didn't seem all that different from the 100, to me. That might just be because I finished a complete 100 meal. When I tried the 400, it seemed like it went straight for my sinuses. Some good fire burning there!!! I went back to 400 degrees the day before I flew back home, because it turned out to be one of my favourite eateries in Nashville. I wanted to go straight for the 400 hot chicken, but considering that I'd be on a plane the next day, I thought it best not to tempt fate. Next time in Nashville, I'm going to go for a 400 hot chicken; and wash it down with an ice cold beer! Btw, if you haven't been to 400 Degrees, be aware of the fact that the preparation time for each order is longer than your average restaurant. That's because they do it fresh, on the spot, at the point of order; and not before. Also, since they're busy from open to close, they're pretty much always getting orders together. It's well worth the wait, though! The blend of spices is a proprietary secret; and it's the reason why people come from all over Nashville to get the best hot chicken around. I wish them the best success; and hope to eat there again, later this year.

My husband and I were heading back home to Memphis and wanted to try 400 degrees for the first time. We saw they were open until 7 pm on their website. My husband tried calling to confirm around 5 and there was no answer. We arrived at 6:09 and she said they were closed and refused service. We are very disappointed.

400 Degrees is the premiere hot spot for Nashville Hot Chicken. The service with a smile from owner Aqui Hines makes it worth the drive from wherever you're coming from. Unfortunately I don't get there often enough, but it makes it that much more special when I do get to eat my favorite hot chicken. But it isn't just chicken - they serve fantastic pork chops and fish (sometimes). The chicken is juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked with a crispy breading that sticks to the meat. The paste that she uses has its own flavor that keeps you coming back for more. I think the secret ingredient is love. If you ask for the 400 heat level, be prepared. I love hot food, but stick to the 200 for my own intestinal safety. This new location is clean, welcoming, and warm. I highly recommend 400 degrees for your hot chicken needs.

400 Degrees is the best, most consistent hot chicken joint in Nashville. The owner, Aqui, is super friendly and since she makes all the chicken here herself, it always comes out the exact same way - unlike some other places. If you like it hot, she has some off-menu heat levels that will destroy you but are still super flavorful. Make sure you get the spicy fries!

You will need to call an hour or so in advance if you do not want to wait. I'd you walk in you will wait 40 45 min depending on how busy it is. It was about a 45 minute wait when there was about 3 4 other people in there. The wait is pretty long but the chicken is well worth it and there is yazoo beer as well to drink while you wait. I like spicy and the 100 degrees (mild) was hot enough for me. My husband did the 200 degrees (medium) and it was good as well. If you dont like spicy, this isnt the place for you. The chicken was very tender and the breading was super crispy. We both got the tenders which came on two slices of bread and pickles with fries. The baked beans were okay, tasted like the ones in the can. The potato salad was okay as well. The chicken here is great though. The customer service was also really great. You can they tell they really care and love what they do.
