We were staying here over memorial day weekend, and needed a place for dinner our first night. We had the pork chops and steak tips per the waitress recommendation. Fantastic food, and fantastic service. Very friendly!

The fried wild rice was really really good and a nice change of pace. No steak on the menu today, so I opted for shrimp and loved it. Fresh steamed green beans were tender and tasty. Reasonable prices. We will be back!

Foundations Home Inspection

Went here the other day in between work and we were short for time. They had other groups dining there and they got us in and served right away. We love their friendly staff, great food, and calming atmosphere.

Atmosphere. Saloon is cool, food was good. The hotel rooms upstairs were more like apartments. Decent living room area, good sized bedroom and a really good sized bathroom. I wouldn't have minded some upgrades televisions. But it was neat, an experience. Staff was great. We had our own exit/entrance from the street.

Absolutely superb!! The restaurant had amazing food, I suggest the worcestershire chicken! Very friendly staff and the owner is wonderful to deal with. The motel room was cozy and spacious. The attention to detail was very nice. Having the little touches that a standard motel just doesn't have. If I could give more stars I would!! Will be back again!

In town working for Sturgis Rally. I had pulled pork special and wife had bacon chicken special and both were AMAZING!! So easy to get bad/expensive food during rally or end up with fast food but this was a great choice with reasonable prices Free parking right down the street or in front. Free 5G Wifi available which was a god send and the only way I can write this review out here. I will be back again and again!

Way too expensive. Hamburger and soup and husband had a hoagie and soup. Cost 29.00 they charge extra for the cheese extra for lettuce and tomato and onion ok n plus the burger is 10.00 to begin with. Never go back!

I saw that the Stampmill closed at 8:00, so I walked in at 7:20 expecting service. However, I was approached by the owner and was told that they were closed and would only be serving the people already seated. My suggestion to the owner would be close at 7:00 and change your attitude towards paying customers.

Best Mushroom & Swiss Steak Hoagie I've ever had!!!! This bar/restaurant is beautiful. The drinks & food are great. Staff is friendly & helpful. Outdoor seating w/a great view. 2 suites for rent upstairs that look lovely (pictures at bar). Order a Moscow Mule -- they use fresh mint from garden & bitters which take it to another level of yum. Don't miss this stop if u are in the area!

Used to be a great place to grab a bite to eat. Now a PLAIN hamburger is $8.00. Then you have to pay extra for cheese, fries, bacon, and yes--even lettuce and tomato. So a hamburger with fries costs at least $11.00, and there's absolutely no difference between it and the $5.00 childs hamburger with fries. (A response from the owner says there is, but I didn't notice one at all.) Robbery. I mean, I thought locals used to eat here. I don't know anybody here who will pay exactly the same price for a hamburger as a pork chop dinner, or as much for a bacon cheeseburger with lettuce as a steak in Deadwood. Being able to pay for "what you want, not what you don't want" should be guaranteed at all restaurants, that's kind of the point. It's about understanding your audience and making it so that the people in the area can walk through your door.

Stampmill Restaurant is a gorgeous historic building, established in 1897. It's all polished wood and black steel. They have a gorgeous bar with friendly staff. We had the fried corn poppers (creamed corn in a breaded crust, fried and served with ranch dressing). They have a great selection of burgers, sandwiches and salads. It's a great place to stop if you're heading through Lead, Deadwood, or the Spearfish Canyon.

Weren't really sure where to stop in Lead, didn't expect to find the caliber of food that is available at Stampmill. From our drinks, to our salads, our entrées and the chocolate crinkle cookies we bought to go, everything was excellent. We enjoyed seeing the photographs with descriptions of how Lead use to be. What a great find, and we appreciated the respite in our long trip. Well done, don't miss this place!
