Our first time here at the Spezia in Sioux Falls. Our son bowed out so it was a "date" night with my wife. She enjoyed the salmon special, i enjoyed the butternut squash risotto. Excellent atmosphere, good food, good place for Italian cuisine. Well worth a visit and a return. The Spezia salad was tasty as well as a side to my risotto.

I do not feel that you get quality food for the price you pay here. It's perfectly fine to have expensive food dish but now when the quality of food is sub-par! I have had their pasta dishes in the past and they are good but come on $25 for noodles! And $28 for Walleye, not impressed. Especially when it claims to come with a dill hollandaise sauce, there was not sauce on mine and when they brought it out it was not warm (it had congealed) and it certainly was not dill at all. I think Spezia should step up their game (there are a lot of really great places in Sioux Falls now) and then it may be worth it!

Pros: Food was amazing. Some of the most delicious Italian you'll ever have. Ambiance is excellent. Staff are friendly and helpful. Cons: Took 10 min for our server to greet us. Didn't introduce herself, but was friendly nonetheless. (Apparently she had a party in the back and 2 dudes dining together wasn't her top priority I guess.) Kitchen messed up 2 small variations to my order. The first she fixed promptly, the 2nd I didn't even bother to complain about. Music playing softly in the background was classic rock. For an Italian bistro, I'd expect Sinatra/Martin/Bennett stuff or accordion Italian folk music. Make it authentic!

We celebrated my wife's birthday and I had called in a couple of weeks before, talked to a gentleman to reserve a room for a party of 14 to 17 people. When we got there, there was no record of the reservation and the room was being used. Bridget was very accommodating and got us a spot that was kind of secluded plus helped us in other ways to make the experience as best as possible. I would give 5 stars for her and Terra the manger, if it wasn't for the lack of follow through by the guy who was supposed to reserve the room for me. The food was good.

Had lunch with one of my nephews today. WOW excellent restaurant layout and design. Excellent choices with every taste covered. The food had awesome taste and flavor and hot food was hot and cold foods were cold. This is an excellent choice for Italian food!

Nothing special here. Service is really lacking and the food was ok. Johnny Carino’s has much better food and service if you’re looking for Italian cuisine. Note: I really liked Spezia years ago, but this was not what I experienced in the past. Maybe it has something to do with the 4 restaurants shown on the doggy bag, 2 of which are no longer in business....

Waited and waited for someone to seat us. Waiter was not personable and not attentive. Had to ask for bread. My medium rare steak was blue and had bled out. Had to sit and wait even longer for waiter to bring our check and then wait more for him to process our card. Note: they weren't busy.

The only problem is their salad bar is so delicious but if you want an entrée, the salad bar is much to big to combine with it! Thus it's always a difficult choice - salad bar...

Great food, good atmosphere, and attentive and polite staff. Really, that's all there is to it. The food is a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for, which is a unique and upscale menu with things like lamb and duck. This is a great date place, with a lot of wine options. Also, Sunday brunch is okay, but it is a bit annoying that they don't serve regularly food during that time.

We went to Spezia because we had a $50 gift card. After we tried to pay the waitress came back and said we couldn't use the gift card because the system was down. She said the only option was to pay it all. They easily could have verified the gift card amount and then kept the card to run later and reduce our bill accordongly. I went online while we were there to verify the amount and I was able to check it right from my phone. Instead of them allowing us to do that, we ended up spending $70 when we ha planned to spend $20. To top it all off, it took most a week for the charge to even show up as pending on our credit card. We wrote the restaurant through their website and it's been a week and we haven't received a reply. They clearly don't care about customer satisfaction here. We won't be back.

My first experience here was terrible. The food was terrible and, despite being a slow period, the waitress was just there to take an order, drop off the food, and bring a check. I've been dragged there a few times and every time I tried a different meal hoping that maybe it would be good. The only time I wouldn't compare it to fast food was when I tried the duck. The duck was... acceptable? It was over-cooked, but still at least an acceptable meal. It's shameful what prices they stick on such sub-par food.

Spezia has one of the best late night happy hours in Sioux Falls. 9 to close you can get half price draft beers (about 12 on tap), half price house wines, and half price pizza! Definitely worth a stop if your hungry and thirsty!

Featuring proportionate meals taylored to satisfy the palette of a mass Midwestern audience. The meal served (by a pleasant staff) was certainly equal the price. The brunch on Sunday is phenomenal, especially for the price! For $18 you get all you can eat breakfast, lunch, and dessert item. And your drinks are included. The wait staff were awesome as well! The only downfall was the lady at the front desk greeting customers & assigning tables. We arrived at opening and she already acted overwhelmed. Other than that, awesome experience!

We received a gift card here or normally don't think of Spezia's. My son and I came in as I had been wanting to find some lamb. I ordered the lamb sirloin ($27) and he got a cheese pizza from the kids meal. The lamb was hard to eat it was so full of connective tissue. I couldn't eat more than half and for an almost $$30 meal there was one thin mushroom head and barely enough potatoes to consider it a side. I was severely under impressed. The cheese pizza was the worst pizza I've ever tried and couldn't even get him to eat more than a piece. I think this place is wildly overpriced for their product and was appalled the sirloin was so full of tissue. On the bright side, I love that the tables have paper covering them for coloring and spills, and their brunch on Sundays is great compared to any other meal I've had here. Will not be back but for brunch every now and then.

This was my first visit to Spezia.. We were celebrating my birthday. I ordered the Seafood Roast. It came with one jumbo shrimp, two jumbo scallops and a piece of salmon. I had a garden salad and bread before the entree arrived. The meal was good.. not great. just nothing really stood out. The angel hair with sauce was just OK... Roasted vegetables were just OK too. When I was done eating, I asked the waiter for a box. I still had almost all of my salmon and one scallop left. He took my plate to the kitchen to box it up and I never saw it again. The waiter seemed to be avoiding our table. I'm pretty sure my food was thrown out accidentally. So I basically paid $32 for a few noodles, veggies, a side salad, one shrimp, one scallop and a piece of bread. My husband said his steak was wonderful. The waiter never brought my food back or said a word about it. We live an hour away, so I was NOT going to stay any longer to replace it. Not the best experience for me!

Great wine and beer selection. The server gave me a sample of the wine I wanted which I like knowing what I'm getting. great service. I ordered my steak to wrong doneness and the waitress made sure I got it how I wanted it cooked. Food was tasty and very well prepared. My steak was perfect and the pasta was tender. My boyfriends pasta was tender and sauce was tasty also. Was a little pricey but it's a great place for special occasions.

Overall an OK experience at best. Very nice lighting and decor but thrown off by the paper tablecloths and crayons everywhere. Food was likewise ok, flavorful enough but for the price I expected more. Our waitress was innatentive to our table. She forgot to bring our appetizers, never refilled our water and brought the check before we were done ordering. We paid and left but if she hadn't done that Spezia probably could have made another $50 or so off our table between dessert and drinks. I don't think we'll go back, I'm left feeling like we had an overpriced Italian meal in a weird setting when there are much better options nearby for the same price.

Exceptionally disappointing. It is purported as being a very suave and classy place. You enter and the venue is lovely. The staff are helpful and respectable. It sells that it is a classy Italian restaurant. When you get your food, it looks just as good as it should. But when you finally taste it, it's just about better than thawed out cheap heat up meals. Totally bland. I can't stress how poor this food was. They even screwed up an Insalata Caprese, somehow...

I am not one to cause a scene or complain in a restaurant, but I was very disappointed with our night out at Spezia. I do not mind waiting on food, as long as you’re acknowledging our table and making sure we are good, which thankfully happened. What I am super upset about is we were finished eating our appetizer, entree, and dessert by 8 pm. We then waited 30 minutes to be given our bill and have our waiter run it through. It was UNACCEPTABLE. I understand people get busy, I used to be a waitress myself, but when you have 3 tables to yourself, you should be more than capable to check on each within a 5-10 minute time frame. The ONLY thing I would go back for is the dessert.

Excellent place. Excellent food. We had a wonderful waitress! You can tell the place is starting to be neglected as the menus are sticky, torn, and need to be replaced. Also, general cleanliness could be improved. If you like this restaurant, try their other places on East Lake Okoboji, Iowa.

Great food, great service. The food was priced reasonably (about $14 for an entree-sized pizza) and the service was quick and pleasant. What I enjoyed (maybe too much) was that there was a paper table cloth and crayons for drawing. I presume this was intended for little kids, but I saw it as an opportunity to color and practice my French (yes, I realize that this was an Italian restaurant but there were French posters on the wall). Even with the paper, the restaurant had an upscale atmosphere. I actually prefer Spezia over Olive Garden and I would dine there again. I highly recommend it.

Terrible experience at this location still love Omaha location. Waited 15 minutes after being seated and no one stopped by to take drink orders. Obviously a place I would be spending $100 plus for 3 people to eat. I would rather spend it where its appreciated. Will never visit Sioux Falls location again. Went to outback and had a great time!

Came here to meet a friend while traveling through, based on the hotel recommendation. Called to ask for a reservation and was told it would be hard to squeeze us in but they did. Arrived and it was near empty! The table had used oil dipping dishes on it, hidden under new dishes. Waitress was apologetic and helpful. Service of food was slow for being so empty. The pizza we ordered was alright, called the Four Seasons. However it had both black and green olives...the green was unnecessary as they are so salty and there was already prosciutto on the pizza.

Wow. Wow! My new favorite place. From the incredibly awesome service to getting to draw on the tables, it was just fun from the beginning. The food is top notch. I had their calamari which was incredible, and their sizzler steak really lived up to its name. I asked for medium rare and it came out perfectly cooked. Nice to find a chef who knows how to properly cook a steak. Definitely going to returning!

From the beginning of our experience, start to finish was excellent. I called to make reservations with Bridget, she was very helpful and friendly. We ordered the artichoke Pizza and the Seafood pasta dish. It had a light white wine butter sauce and was very flavorful. The bread was amazing as was the wine. Our server Dawn was friendly and knowledgeable. The restaurant itself was cozy and a nice atmosphere. Although there was a large group on one side of the restaurant, it didn't affect our dining experience. We were in town for a concert and wish we had a reason to visit again because we would definitely eat here and will recommend it to anyone we know who will be visiting.

The food is good, but very spendy (as most real foreign cuisine is but wow!). Our server was very on top of things and was polite. The only reason I give it four stars really though is because we called to make reservations, and they told us they didn't do them... When we got there, the host asked us right away if we had reservations and it would be a 30-40min wait if we didn't... And it still took 45-50min anyway to seat us. Just frustrating :/
