First time at Ramen Fuji. Atmosphere was good, place was very clean and neat. We got seated by the guy that was going to be our waiter. It was very difficult for us as he did not speak English, and with this being our first time, he could not answer any questions we had about the menu. So we were not sure on our exact orders, and when the food came he forgot who ordered what, and we were not sure of our order so we had to go get a menu and show him what we each ordered so he knew who got what. They food was good, it was light on the meat and heavy on the noodles, but it had good flavor.

Ramen fans rejoice - Sioux Falls has a ramen spot! I give Ramen Fuji 5 stars because of their good ramen portion at an awesome value with stellar service. I've had the pleasure of trying out various ramen bowls from recipes new and old from Los Angeles to Washington DC. I chose to have their Char Siu Ramen loaded with mushrooms, bamboo shoots, green onions, fish cakes, and savory soy base soup. To top it off, a classic half hard-boiled egg sliced in half on the ramen. For under $12 bucks of less, you can't go wrong with a loaded ramen bowl from Ramen Fuji. They offer a variety of other Japanese style cuisine fit for those seeking a taste other than ramen. The great staff can help you find what you like. They're very attentive and friendly!

Was plesently surprised with Ramen Fuji. The food was great and so was the service. Portion size was very generous tooand our food came out from the kitchen in great time. I wish the menu was a little bigger but there was still plenty on there for everyone in our party to find something they liked. Definitely worth trying and I'll be going back again soon.

I love these guys, but I still have some critique that's bugged me the last few times I've come in The reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is mainly due to the broth. So far I've had both the soy sauce base and the miso base, and to be honest, both can be pretty overwhelming. The soy sauce broth can be quite salty on given days, while the miso broth can have a lot of sesame oil in it, which the soy sauce broth also struggles with. The flavors were so overpowering that I took some of my water and poured it in, which seemed to help level it out, but honestly, idk why sesame oil is needed at all. Stock + miso + soy sauce + mirin + lots of water has done me very well when making ramen. Not much more is needed Secondly, I do want to critique the staff. They seem rather pleasant, but at the same time, rather timid and unengaging. That isn't necessarily a problem, as lots of people are shy, but from other Japanese restaurants I've been too, morale could be a bit higher. Still better than Oshima's staff though. My reccomendation would be to move closer to your condumers, i.e. somewhere close to Augustana/USF. The best staff morale I've seen from a Japanese restaurant was at a little sushi shop called Sumo in Rapid City, and I think it was cause they were within walking distance of the college, so the constant business from excited young people has kept the owners very happy. You may even see higher profits from a location near a school Reccomendations for customers: get the takoyaki. These guys make amazing takoyaki, but be warned! It's really hot coming out of the kitchen! So perhaps get a carry out order. That's something you guys have nailed! Never change the way you do takoyaki!

It is wonderful to have a ramen place in town! The atmosphere is clean and warm. The layout and decorations work well. The service is friendly and prompt. The food is delicious! My one complaint is I ordered a rice dish. There was so much rice and not a lot of meat and vegetables. Adjust your expectations accordingly.

The atmosphere is very relaxed and the staff are super friendly. It doesn't take long at all to get your food after you order it, so if you're in a rush, it's definitely a good place to go. The flavors are really good. I tried the crispy chicken ramen bowl and thought it was very tasty. The only thing I didn't care for was the ramen noodles themselves and this is largely due to the fact that anytime I was sick as a child, my mom made me ramen. It just sparks that memory for me. Thankfully this doesn't reflect the restaurant and I definitely would say go give Ramen Fuji a try!

Food is good not great, had Kimchi Ramen both trips. Kimchi was pretty mild, broth tasted like it might have been a powdered mix. Went during lunch both trips. First trip was to go and it took about 10 min before I was even acknowleged when I walked in the door. Second trip was FAST, I think we had our food in 5 minutes.

My family and I just relocated here from Billings, MT and we had never been to a ramen shop before. We are a foodie family and know about ramen from TV shows and have made it at home but have always wanted to go to a real ramen shop and we are so glad we went to Ramen Fuji. We ordered the Takoyaki appetizer because we've seen it on a couple of TV shows and were not disappointed. Takoyaki are fried dough balls with chunks of octopus (yes, really) that are served with a drizzle of the brown sauce like you get on eel as well as Japanese mayo and sprinkled with bonito flakes. On TV the Japanese eat these things right out of the fryer when they are hotter than heck so we did too. NOT A GREAT IDEA....lol! Holy smokes these things were like red hot coals of loveliness...lol! So hot but so tasty and lots of fun laughing at each other...lol! The Japanese mayo is tasty stuff and the bits of octopus were nice and tender and we'll probably have these every time we go. The kids and I each ordered a different ramen. I had the shredded char siu version. The broth is remarkably savory and a bit spicy. The noodles are perfectly chewy and mine came topped with corn, bean sprouts, mushrooms, a slice of fish cake and a soft cooked egg that I could have eaten a dozen of! That egg was the stuff dreams are made of. If you are an egg freak like I am anyway...lol! The shredded char sui pork was excellent and had a slightly sweet and savory sauce on it. My daughter had the katsu chicken version and it was much the same as mine but she asked for no spice. The chicken was excellent and we are going to try some of their other dishes with it next time. My son had the char sui version which was also the same broth as mine but with whole slices of the pork I had and his had a bit different toppings like black mushroom and no corn. Overall, we were very pleased with the food. Now we see why ramen is so popular and we are now devotees of it too. The waitress was a cute little Japanese gal who provided the legendary Japanese service and hospitality and we will be regulars here from now on.

This is a really nice and clean restaurant. The service was not very friendly but they were fast! The menu is decently priced. Appetizers were tasty and affordable. My bowl of ramen was huge and I got an additional two meals out of it. The flavor of the ramen bowl itself was quite good! I wish they would add sushi to their menu and I would be a constant return customer! Next time though, we will probabaly just do pick up!

Service was good. Ramen was very good. I had the roast pork belly. Very clean flavors. Nothing overpowering. I mean it definitely had great flavor. Just not overly done. Dumplings were good fresh and hot . Short ribs were tastefully cooked but of terrible quality. Definitely would not recommend them. Otherwise a nice change from the everyday fare!

Although the service could use some work, Ramen Fuji serves a delightful bowl of ramen at an attractive price. A few more months of polish will make this restaurant really shine! Unlike previous restaurants at this location, Ramen Fuji meets the unique niche of a tasteful, inexpensive, sit-down meal in central Sioux Falls. Other restaurants to service this market have done relatively well (see: Famous Dave’s; 18th Amendment) and hopefully Ramen Fuji will too!

We absolutely love this place! From my and my husband's past few experiences at Ramen Fuji, we have yet to have a poor meal here. Everything is so good and fresh, and the service is friendly and fast. We got our food within 10 minutes. Our favorite dish is the Char Siu Ramen, which is pork belly in a creamy, rich broth with ramen and all the traditional toppings. This ramen hits the spot when you want something rich and filling on a cold, rainy day. Tonight I tried their Chicken Katsu Japanese Curry and was very pleased! It's a different kind of curry than Indian curry, just so you are aware. It has a very unique blend of spices that borderline sweet/savory. I recommend trying it at least once. It's not too spicy either. Just a slight tingling/burn is all I noticed. As for appetizers, we tried the Takoyaki, which are fried octopus balls. We were pleasantly surprised with how good they are! We hadn't had octopus before this, but we will definitely have it again after this! The outside is nice and crisp from frying, and the inside is a very creamy dough with cooked bits of octopus. It's worth a try at least once! We also saw lots of people order their gyōzas (dumplings), which you can get either steamed or fried. Overall, our experiences at Ramen Fuji have been very good, satisfying, and worth the money. Not often you find good, fairly authentic Japanese cuisine here in our part of the Midwest! Hope you guys have a good experience as well.

Loved the food! We started with the fried dumplings (the sauce had a little more acidic bite than others I've had, which I liked) and then I had the kimchi ramen. As others have said, there weren't quite enough servers to go around so some small things got missed, but we will definitely be back!

We arrived and waited around 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. There seemed to be a hostess but she stood behind the counter and didn’t look up from the computer once. When we were finally acknowledged by a member of wait staff they told us it would just be a few minutes – the entire place was packed – but another waiter came up a moment later and seated another party of two who had just walked up!! The two of us had been waiting for ten minutes! When we were seated it was at a large community table with strangers. Food took a while getting out, however, I felt very pressured too order quickly. The menu was confusing – it seemed like they had a build your own ramen bowl option but that was unclear. Several items on the menu had been blacked out with electrical tape. Our dumpling and calamari appetizers were good. Our food came out at different times. The ramen was okay, I felt like the broth was not especially flavorful. My partner was disappointed that his was not spicy despite the description of a spicy oil and saucy in his shredded pork bowl. Overall, food was fine, but service was extremely disorganized and lack luster. They need a front of house person to greet and keep seating organized.

My only regrets are that I didn't go here sooner and that I've missed out on delicious, carefully crafted ramen for all these months. I had the beef ramen, and it had a deep, rich flavor. The half-cooked egg and the black fungus were notable highlights. Definitely looking forward to going back for Japanese curry and the other ramen bowls

Food taste and quality were wonderful. Portion size was so so could've definitely been more compared to other similiar restaurants I've been to in other states. I think staff was good although it felt like they crowded us a little bit and had a little communication breakdown. I am only saying this as constructive criticism as I feel they can only improve. Stars don't get handed out very easily as I am a hard sell when it comes to food. 3 stars is actually pretty good. Considering they are the only restaurant of its kind here I guess you could say they are the best in town.

Ramen is very mediocre with the broth not having a lot of flavor. The egg also in my dish for the ramen was cold in the middle and hard boiled. There is really nothing to be impressed about with their food. I have ordered the curry as well and feel the same. I hope over time their recipes improve if they want customers to keep coming back. The service was also alright, but our order was wrong both times I have visited.

Pork belly ramen is very good, pork was tender, broth excellent and noodles cooked just right. Crispy chicken was good as long as you keep the chicken on top of the broth. I like the broth of the chicken better, it's a bit spicier. Dining companions did not like the beef as much. The pork buns were a hit. Service is prompt and price is on par with other Asian restaurants.

Foods good. I'll recommend it to anyone who wants ramen.. I gave then a 3 star becuz they weren't prepared for their opening day. Lack of waiters/waitresses, no ice for the pop machine. Had to wait 20 min for our drinks because they failed to let us know that there's no ice. They doubled our order. Need to be more prepared next time so this wouldn't happen again. Like I said. Other than that food was good.

First time going. First experience with place like this. I had the beef ramen for lunch. It was different for me but I enjoyed it. We also had the fried calamari and fried octopus dumpling. My wife and I have eaten here twice. Both times they have delivered the wrong food to our table. They have been quick to correct things and the food is actually very tasty. On the most recent trip I was able to try the char siu pork bun and crispy fried chicken bun. They were both very tasty but if I had to pick one it would be the crispy fried chicken bun. I had the char siu ramen and my wife had the spicy kimchi ramen. The char siu was pretty good but the broth needs a little something extra like more heat. I was very jealous of my wife's spicy kimchi ramen. It had that extra dimension of flavor that mine was missing. The beef in hers was nothing special but the kimchi gave the broth a wonderful kick. Overall it really hit the spot especially on a cold wet night.

Great food if you're into ramen. The Kimchi Ramen was excellent, and while the service wasn't, it's their second day open and that is understandable given their volume. Note: I returned two days later over lunch, and the service was better, but towards the end we sat for about 10 minutes without getting a check or someone to stop by to ask if we wanted anything else. Despite that, I stand by my original rating - the food was once again, exceptional, though I would love to see grilled chicken ramen as a future option.

I'm always searching for places serving Asian food. This place opened up recently and I had to check it out. The ambience of the place is Japanese themed with cherry blossom umbrellas adoring the walls and paper lanterns hanging from the ceiling. The menu here is not to big but I'm sure you'll find something you like! We tried ramen here which was warm and hearty. I would definitely recommend it.

Been here twice and had wonderful food both times. The Char Siu Donburi is so savory and the hand sliced char siu pork is so tender. Along with Japanese mayo, a "Chef Special sauce", green onions all over white onion and white rice, it's such a filling and delicious dish. Love, love, love the soft-boiled egg that comes with the dish. We will definitely be back!

I went around 3 pm on a work day, so I only had to wait for about 8-10 minutes for my food. The service was quick and efficient and the food was good as well. I’d never had what you would call quality ramen before, so I was pleasantly surprised with what I ordered (the crispy chicken ramen, I’d recommend it). The atmosphere was nice and the restaurant was clean as well. I do wish there were more explanations on what some of the dishes were, but if you’re looking for something that’s different and is of good quality, you should definitely give them a try.

Amazing eating experience. Easily some of, if not, the best ramen I have had. Both me and my girlfriend were able to comfortably share a meal and come out feeling full and very satisfied. Staff was friendly and did not wait long for our meal to come out. Definitely recommend and will easily come back and eat here again in the future.

The strong flavor of the soup deserves two stars. I had the beef ramen and while it had a soy sauce base, I couldn't taste anything else, but the soy sauce. The strong flavor made it difficult for me to enjoy the experience of eating ramen. I will be back later to get another opinion, but the beef ramen is off the table for a while. -from an Asian noodle addict

It's not a good sign when you show up to a fast casual restaurant at noon and the only table occupied has the cook eating. The service was fast. The tea was good. Thats where it ends... I ordered the Kimchi Ramen. What came was a bowl of ramen noodles that were not fresh. the Kimchi came out of a can and yes, I know it must but this came out of what must have been a discounted can, it was bland. The meal had thin sliced pork in it and the meat was such poor quality, the tendon shone brightly and could have become the floss I used to try and get the stringy meat out from between my teeth. I had really high hopes and this is my third time there. it is also my last.

So I've heard some back and forth reviews about ramen fuji. So I decided to check it out myself. Didnt seem like they had a lunch menu but not sure. Upon receiving my order. All items were placed in the broth, not on top or sloppy. Noodles were abit under al dente, but after getting half way threw my meal they were awsome. The broth, oh boy, the broth was very complex. Had a smoky, nutty flavor, a nice spice kick, meaty and oily. The char sui, now that was some good pork. Very juicy, very flavorful. Sweet and tender. The medium boiled egg was marinated right, the yolk softened up more. The veggies where soft but still had that veggie crunch. Over all, the food was good. The service wasnt overly bad. Tried explaining that I had a allergy and the waitress didnt quiet under stand. I can foresee that being a very big problem since I would of need a ambulance half way threw my meal. So other then that, I would recommend it. As long as you like foreign items in your food.

Really bad food. No organization inside so everything takes way longer than it should. Overpriced for such low quality. Absolutely no standard for quality in food or service. Shame, I really wanted to like this place.

Really great food again! Service was good but ordered a Tofu bun and got a surprise when I bit into a pork bun. It was yummy but I don't eat meat so.... Made me wonder about the rest of my order.

Food was ok. Waited over an hour and a half for our good. I understand it was the first day so these things can happen. I will go back and try it again to see if it gets better b/c I really hope they do good.
