Minerva's is great for an occasion. It's a bit pricey for my budget, but the quality of the food, drink, and service makes that price appropriate. Their menu can be adjusted of you have an allergy, and it seems standard practice for waiters to bring the manager over if you do have an allergy. It gave my party a lot more confidence in the food when the manager seemed to be the one relaying information back to the chef. To boot all of the menu tastes great, and the drinks were mixed pretty well, not college bar "burn this mixed drink with bottom shelf liquor" nor "to maximize the flavor of the 45 herbs and fruits in it, this drink has 0.05% alcohol, enjoy"

Been a Minerva's fan for years! Food and service is always excellent. The salad bar is fresh and who has salmon (very tasty) on a salad bar for lunch? Atmosphere is welcoming.. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Consistently good foods and services at reasonable price. I have not yet had any negative surprise. Many other restaurants do not understand the importance of consistency. And, they are classy enough to not push for turnovers.

Outstanding food, great atmosphere and they are not afraid of little children. The entree selection, including kids meals, is excellent. The walleye cakes are unbelievably tasty. Steaks have just the right amount of flavor, not too much seasoning. The coconut chicken curry was off the chain tasty!! Prices are great and the staff is super friendly and accommodating. My wife and I can't wait to go back to try more of their dishes.

Great variety of entrees and desserts! Our teenage grandkids request to go out to eat there. They love the huge salad bar. And the service is unbeatable! We eat at Minerva's regularly and are never disappointed. Service always excellent, meals are consistently excellent in quality. Menu varies seasonally with wonderful additions. Luncheon buffet was excellent! Don't skip the fruit salad!!! Yummy!!! Staff was amazing with great attention to our needs! We will be back!

Expensive and almost impossible to get in without a reservation because it is so popular, but the food is excellent! The filet mignon I ordered the other evening was the best I have ever eaten! Melted in my mouth! And the salad bar is top of the line! One of Sioux Falls "best dining choices!"

Been there a few times for the salad and soup bar during lunch and it's always great. Much higher quality with options like fresh salmon, gourmet cheese and hand made pasta salad. They've always got a couple very good soups as well. Plus the atmosphere and staff are both wonderful.

Nice place in downtown Sioux Falls. The food was good. The salad bar had all the usual choices plus soups, salmon, and sandwich items such as deli meats. It's a bit upscale so maybe leave the holey jeans at home. There are some tables outside for dining. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Minerva's downtown Sioux Falls does not disappoint. Classy, cozy environment. Professional wait staff. Not a place for families with obnoxious screaming kids. So a great place to take a date for a memorable evening. Libations are always top shelf. Salad bar is very good. Steaks, chop and seafood are always to perfection. Deserts are great, the tiramisu is excellent.

Minerva's is the class of downtown. When we're in the mood for an excellent meal with impeccable service and high class atmosphere... Minerva's is our go to. Their salad bar is impressive (though has maybe dwindled in impressiveness just slightly since new ownership a year or two ago.) Was lucky enough to stop in for prime rib night last Friday. Probably the best prime rib I've ever had. You cant go wrong though no matter what you have.

I like the food here and the service is very good. One star off for the guy who was at the host stand. I found him a bit rude and dismissive when I inquired about the group I was meeting with. He was training another person and she seemed to notice and smiled at me apologetically, so it must be just how he is.

Open since 1977, this is still the go-to restaurant in downtown Sioux Falls, SD. Excellent staff. Everything you would expect on a steakhouse menu, including a variety of cuts of steak, fish, chicken, and vegetarian selections. Opted for the rib-eye, which was prepared well. Huge salad bar with all the "fixins" for $3.00. Very moderately proceed wine selection. While not huge, there are a few bottles in each category that you are sure to know.

Went here on a whim since we were in town for a concert. The staff is very friendly and the dining area is dark and comfortable. We did not try the salad bar but it looks great. Our food came with a side salad and bread. Their house dressing is a great balsamic. The bread was fresh and had a nice crust. The burger I had was the best I've ever had. I ordered it medium rare and for the first time in my life, actually got medium rare. The meat was so juicy and soft you couldn't tell where the brioche ends the the meat begins. Also the fries were the perfect crisp of shoe string potatoes. The wife got the crab and potato crusted salmon with fill sauce. The fish was slightly overcooked and under season. However the portion was generous and the vegetables were perfectly steamed. For dessert we had the souffle which was cooked spot on and had some exceptional vanilla ice cream with whipped cream on top. Also the house wine and the cappuccino were both great values and flavorful. Prices were very reasonable. We left full and happy.

Started out with a Moscato and an appetizer of coconut shrimp with teriyaki wasabi sauce and for the main course I had the 2-4 oz fillets with a loaded Spud. I was very impressed to say the least. Will definitely be back to try other things on the menu! Also, the salad bar was top notch with TONS of choices to choose from! Waitress was super quick and very friendly and never let my glass get empty-kudos to you- thanks for being spot on. Cooks- keep up the hard work and dedication of tasty food! Thanks minervas-! The salad bar was wonderful. The salmon I had was done perfectly. Our server was great. The reason for four stars would be we were sat in a booth by the servers station and listening to one of the servers talk about how little or big her tips and who would tip more or tip less was a bit odd while sitting in an establishment that is considered upscale.

Let's begin with the salad bar. You are greeted by a wide variety of fresh greens, dressings and toppings, fresh pasta and dessert salads, cheese blocks and two varieties of soup. On this visit, the vegetable beef soup was very good but, the fresh tomato zucchini was the star. The salad bar was wonderful. Four of the five in our party ordered steaks. Each of the four received steaks that were cooked to order and seasoned nicely. I ordered the chicken breast Oscar. It was what you would expect when ordering an Oscar with one small twist... shrimp replaced the crab. The only knock on Minerva's.... it is a bit pricey so be prepared to dig deep into your wallet. Our dinner for five, with nothing from the bar, was just shy of $190.

Went during a storm so not many people there at all but still more then I thought in a storm. The person at the rent a car desk told me this was a good place. Would have to agree with them. We were so disappointed with the service and food and drinks. We’ve been coming for years, but it’s not up to par anymore. My mojito only had 3 mint leaves floating in the drink - none muddled. Thus, no mint taste. The strawberry flavor was way too sweet. My friend ordered the basil martini... one basil leaf floating on top. Again, none muddled, and none tasted. The bartenders need to learn how to make drinks correctly. There wasn’t a single vegetarian option on the menu... the waiter didn’t know how to help my friend. It took awhile and 3 trips to the kitchen before something could be chosen. And then she didn’t get her salad. They used to have vegetarian options. What happened?

Minervas is my go to restaurant when I am in Sioux Falls. I take my customers and associates there because they have a great variety of food choices and the food is top notch. I have never had a bad experience or a bad meal there. I highly recommend it. The environment can be fancy but you can also show up in shorts. The salad bar is awesome.

First time eating here, the lighting was poor, prices too high for the quality of the food, food garnished too heavy on meat, on both of are meals, keep it simple, simple is better. My bake potato tasted like it was done in the microwave, pretty tough and tasteless. Both of are house salads tasted like there was mold in the lettuce, and the salads were really scaled down, not impressed. I will proabably pass on eating here again, but now I know.

We came here for a Bridal shower and had the lunch salad bar for $11 or so. The salad bar had a variety of options and everything tasted INCREDIBLE. In particular, the ranch dressing was to die for and everyone who tried the salmon said it was amazing. Very fancy high end restaurant! Great wine/drink selection. Very helpful waiters/waitresses.

When people think of "flyover land", they are not thinking about places like Minerva's. This first-rate restaurant would be comfortable and would compete well in any big city in America! But I'm glad it's in Sioux Falls and offers incredible food at small town prices!
