Its probably a good thing your restaurant is now closed.
The manager was completely rude both over the phone when placing an order for carry out and when I arrived to pick it up. He ignored me and walked right past me twice while standing at the counter. He acted as if me purchasing food from his restaurant was a major inconvenience.
This was a decent place to eat a year or two ago, but the service was slow and when the food finally arrived, 4 of the 7 meals were wrong and/or poorly prepared. Rubbery scrambled eggs, cold soggy 6 hashbrowns, missing cream cheese. Not sure I'll ever go there again.
Great service, nice and clean and the food was great as always.
I got the club sandwich with fries. Solid club but fries were soggy and cold.
Family Friendly with great food!
Very fast service and amazing food.
Basic old school Diner food
We stopped for breakfast and ordered the Lucky 13 breakfast. It appeared to be a wonderful meal, until we began to eat it....at which point we discovered a large piece of plastic in the hash browns. We brought it to the managers attention, whose response, "oh, it's only a piece of the bag, would you like a new order?", was very unimpressive. Of course we don't want a new order, we just found plastic in the first order....do you really think we want to dig through a second order to insure it is clean before we start to eat?
Our local Hy-Vee can whip up a better buffet for cheaper
Great food and service
Very friendly server and great food, very clean and nice atmosphere.
We never have good service at this location. Super disappointed this time. We waited 20 minutes to be seated which is fine but were told it was a 30 minute wait to get any food off the menu. Very disappointed.
We just spotted this place driving by. It was an excellent stop!
Love the cinnamon roll french toast and always friendly staff. Nice clean warm atmosphere for good food and conversation.
Love it,food is great.
My first experience was in Christmas Eve, we were staying in SF in a hotel and this was the only place open. I called for take out and the person in the phone was very nice. 10-15 minute later, food was ready and I picked it up from a super nice staff. They were very friendly. Pricing was also great. We ordered an appetizer platter, 2 meals and a dessert and the total was $38. It was plenty of food for myself and 3 children as a late dinner. So when we needed lunch on Christmas day before our big family dinner. We returned. It was busy so there was about a 20 minute wait, but the food was well worth it and the staff, again were very pleasant! I can see why they were busy. We ordered from the menu, but they also had a buffet that seemed very popular. It was an excellent family friendly atmosphere.
Good food and plenty of it.
Good friendly Good place to eat good people
Great family restaurant. Breakfast all day plus an all you can eat buffet.
It was OK. I wish they wouldn't have gotten rid of their buffet at lunch. It was quick and simple and we could be in and out in 20 minutes. That's a big deal when you get an hour lunch.
I would recommend this place. Foods good staffs okay and the AC works well
Great food and our server was fabulous
It was my first time eating there. The furnishings inside were gorgeous. And our food was very filling and delicious.
Always good cant go wrong
Great atmosphere, good buffet, very reasonable price, I will definitely share with friends who travel as a solid place for a good experience.
Great Breakfast buffet & service
It was ok. Had to wait a while and the food was cold.
We had the Friday night buffet. Ribs and chicken went well with potato and macaroni salads. Fruit and cherry cobbler for dessert. A little less breading would be beneficial. Chili is a bit too thick. Overall, pretty good chow for $10.99. Beverages served in Mason jars!
The weekend Breakfast Buffet is A+A+A+. The waitstaff is efficient , friendly and very professional. Don't forget kids eat free with an adult. One of my two favorite weekend breakfast buffet's.
Nice breakfast buffer
Good food, breakfast served anytime. I had eggs, hashbrowns, wheat toast and smoked sausage (2). Daughter had all you can eat spaghetti, she said gravy (red sauce) and meatballs were good. Great friendly and professional service, Ashley was our server. Will visit again during our stay.
The staff was nice and the food was awsome. Thank you Olivia for the quick and pleasant service. The omelets are awsome and the coffee really hit the spot.
Great home cooking and good prices.
Sooo Family and I came into town and heard about Marlins from a family member. We were sat down quickly but server took about 10 mins to come greet us and apologize for the lateness because they are short staffed. First of all customers do not care about your staffing issues and is not our problem. The food and quality was not up to par. Our order was wrong and does not seem like management cared.
Food was great and the service was excellent
Clean, warm, friendly staff. We were seated almost immediately. My husband ordered a burger and said it was good. Since the winter buffet doesn't have meat on it (business is too slow), I opted for one of the lunch specials for $7.99, drink included. I chose the country fried steak with gravy, mashed potatoes, a vegetable, and a roll. The meat was quite good. The plate was carb heavy for a diabetic; unfortunately, the vegetable was carrots. They were soft, and I didn't taste seasoning. They were good, but I ate my mashed potatoes topped with the white gravy. The roll came with a tub of butter spread, but the roll was cold and left uneaten. Our waitress kept our drinks filled and checked frequently to see if we needed anything. We asked for a piece of Oreo pie and received chocolate silk instead. I started to correct her, but I changed my mind. The pie was cold, silky, creamy, and good. The crust was soft and not appetizing.
My husband, 4 children, and I stopped into the Minnesota Ave location tonight. We were seated immediately. The dining room was less than half full. We saw 3 waitresses, 1 manager, and the hostess. We sat at our table for at least 15 minutes without being acknowledged by any of the staff. Finally got tired of waiting so we left and went to the North Cliff location. Our waitress, Ashley, was amazing! She greeted us immediately. The table we started sitting at hadn't been wiped down yet so she stopped us, wiped it down quickly, and took our drink orders right away. HUGE difference in service between the two locations. Definitely would not recommend the Minnesota Ave location to anyone.
The food is always good here. I had the breakfast buffet on a Saturday. The French toast sticks were particularly good. They have a nice variety on the menu as well.
Marlins restaurant is my go-to place for a good old hot hamburger sandwich. And usually go to that Marlins on North Cliff, but, today we went to the one on S. Minnesota. Our waiter was exceptionally good and for the month of February they have dinner specials and lunch specials. You can even sign up to win free gifts for the month of February.
Waitress was friendly and attentive. The food was good and so was the portion size.
The food was good, service was very poor.
Great food and service
Tony is a fantastic server. He is attentive to customer needs and is very personable. The food is always good!
Stopped in for lunch - they had a buffet, NOTHING was labeled. You had no idea what was what - and I have dietary restrictions, so I was not able to select more than 2 items I could identify besides the salad bar. Food was good - would just elevate the experience if they labeled their food on the buffet!
First experience eating at Marlins and definitely did not enjoy. I will maybe try again in the future and possibly change this rating.
Excellent food and great friendly service. Not to mention huuuge cinnamon rolls
Inexpensive food cleaning polite staff food was cold
Had to wait 15 minutes to be seated. Waitress refused to seat us by the fire station so 10 yr old could view fire trucks. She brought meal with no barbecue sauce on it and had to go get the sauce. She picked a hair off the food and said she was going to take it so we didn't claim it was hers! She never asked if we wanted desert. Brought ticket and expected us to pay for it before we were half thru our meal. Then didn't give correct change back. Bill was $15.13. She gave me back a $5. I guess she wanted the whole $5 as a tip? Said she didn't have proper change. Needless to say she got no tip as $5 was all I had on me and that is not 15% of $15.13.
Marlins was very good and the people that work there were very good had a nice time with my lady thank you and my buddy Sally
Good food, service, reasonable prices.
Great prices but not hours for being downtown. Good dinner type food
We love how at home everyone remembers who you are. My husband visits everyday.
Service seemed a little slow. Food was good.
The food is always solid... but the one time we went to this location the service was brutal. The girl was nice enough... hit had to be new as she didnt know anything and looked super overwhelmed when it was not very busy at all.
Decent food, waitress was nowhere to be found when we walked in,, stood there for a few munutes before anyone came out, little annoying,,,
Good food and service
Went here around dinner time on a weekday. Not busy at all service was at a bare minimum. Our food came out cold and they just threw it back in the microwave. Food wasn’t very good. Salad was wilted. Not the experience I was expecting. Nothing like Marlins in North Cliff. The service at that one is MUCH better. Food is actually Hot and tastes fresh. Very disappointed. Wanted to love as much as the other location. But Not impressed. Never again can I bring myself to waste money there
Has a very good weekend buffet
Food was ok. Ordered a medium well steak and got medium rare. Saving grace was or wonderful waitress.
Very few times is the term the best there is holding true. Marlin's BLT is the best in Sioux Falls. It's like a blast to the past on route 66.
Wonderful variety on the breakfast buffet Saturday morning
Excellent service. The food was good.
While the wait staff wasn't the best, the food was absolutely amazing! If you go there, try the Mexican omelette! The ground beef was seasoned perfectly! Every aspect of my meal was perfect, all ingredients were fresh and well prepared!
Went to Marlins on Minnesota. Was seated quick but had to wait about 10 minutes for the server to show up. There wasn't many people there. She took our order then we waited and waited and she finally brought our entrees. I asked her where out salads were and she had forgot them. She then went and made them and brought them. The food was good but the service was terrible. Doubtful that we will go back. If we would not have had a coupon, we would have walked out
I was pleasantly surprised! I had the breakfast buffet and it was much better than I usually expect. Service was fast and friendly and the environment was charming. Definitely will stop back in next time I'm in the area
My meal was great. However had to tell server several times for our creamer for coffee. Watched her bring to 2 other tables before. I asked a passing manager for it. Also listen to other table of teens complain she brought wrong order then didn't fix it. The girl ate the food the was told she shouldn't have ate it if she wanted it replaced or refunded. Server 1 star but I would go back to restaurant.
Needed a place to eat on Thanksgiving and decided on Marlins on Minnesota ave and wasn't disappointed!! No lines, waited on right away. Buffet so we had choices and everything was good and we were out of there in no time. Bonus was we called around and everyone else was around $18-20 Marlins was $13.50. Perfect...no waiting, quick and easy, lower price with good quality food...Thank you Marlins. We will see you again.
Nice little family diner. We were staying in sioux falls over a weeknd and wanted to find a place for breakfast and I jumped on google like everyone does now and started looking around. Decided to give this place a shot and tried it. Didnt know what to expect never been here before. Getting there and finding that they have all you can eat breakfast bar was awsome. I have a 4 year old and picky as they come. Overall great good. I did get a large orange juice. This thing comes in a huge jason jar and they dont tell you it's almost 6 bucks. Just a heads up. Next time we are in town we are gonna try the place again and see if it is as good as the first time.
Great food, friendly staff and reasonable prices
Good prices and the food was delicious.
II've aye here twice. Once for breakfast and once for dinner. The food was good sund the servers friendly. Good prices.
My breakfast was done to perfection Thank you!
Very good service. 1st time there. Food was amazing.
Good food and plenty of it. Service was terrible the last 2 times I was there. I could have brewed my own coffee at home and brought it back to the restaurant in less time than it took to get refill.
Great service and food.
Food was great! Service needs work. We had to wait 15 minutes to get our check
THE best cure for a hangover. Get some pancakes, bacon, and eggs. Excellent service at a reasonable price.
Awesome place to eat in Sioux Falls S.D.
Steak was over done. Unable to cut or chew. Waitress ordered a new one, wasn't much better, they need to teach cooks how to cook steaks or take them off the menu.
Good basic food, generous portions, accommodating wait staffing
Always a good meal at a fair price
Went on Christmas day for breakfast. Tasted really good and fresh.
Poor service and you will wait at the door for an hour before getting sat down.
Recently a group of 15 from my church had our Circle's Christmas lunch here. Since I called in 1 hour early, everything was all set up and ready for us. Our server was so very pleasant, patient, kind and attentive. Our food choices were all wonderfully prepared, and arrived hot and delicious. We were not rushed and enjoyed visiting over coffee also!
Always has been good food and plenty portions
Absolutely the best restaurant and the service was excellent! They catered to my picky little niece and made egg whites just for her and gave her extra chocolate chips in her pancakes!
Looked good.. I just peaked in to check it out
First time visit...very fast service
Slow service, but polite staff and decent food. I'll try it again.
Great breakfast all day long. Tara the waitress does a great job!
Food and service was great
Very nice and cozy . Very reasonable and g.very good food
From out of town but tried this place for lunch. The service was good and the food was delicious. Ended up going back for breakfast and that was delicious also.
GREAT CLEAN SERVICE IN IN SIOUX FALLS SOUTH DAKOTA, CHOICE OF BUFFET OR ORDER ON THE MENU,
Great food with a friendly staff!! Saw the Mayor while I was there :)
Great food and reasonably priced. Will stop there again when in Sioux Falls.
Great service! Excellent food!
Food average. Food wasn't hot and took quite awhile
Quick and friendly service. Good food!
Service was very slow while restaurant was not busy. The food was good.
Our waiter Rory was very good and extremely friendly
Nice staff, good inexpensive buffet especially after a late night ;)
First time there and we loved the service. Great on prices, friendly staff, and awesome food.
Awesome food, great and friendly environment. Always looking forward to dining here!
Very good food and excellent service!
Very friendly place,good food,
The food is amazing, but I got a muffin that was cold but oh well
We were in town and looking for a good family style restaurant. This was it. Fairly priced and good food.
My server was top shelf and food was great!
Marlin's is always a great place to get a variety of food. Excellent breakfast for sure with my favorite being the cornbread Benedict. It's heaven a plate. I only wish they would cook the hashbrowns a bit more on the crispy side. The inside are usually mush. But the apps and sandwiches are typically bomb. And the sweet tea is delicious. The staff is always courteous and friendly no matter which Marlin's you're at. Your drink is never empty. And their dessert shouldn't be passed up.
Wonderful! The staff was amazing. Not often you go to a place and the entire staff is enthusiastic, happy, joking, smiling, and helpful. They were happily helping each other get things done, and it made my morning seeing a staff who seems to love where they work. I will happily tip 100% again for that service. Oh and the breakfast buffet was pretty good too. French toast and waffles got hard fast. But was still really good. And maybe consider more stuff to the buffet. But for the price, you cant beat it.
Just stopped in for coffee. But the coffee was excellent as was the service. Previous experience there tells me that this is the norm. And the food is pretty good too. Highly recommend.
Very friendly staff, and the Sunday buffet was delicious. Good coffee too.
Awesome place to eat. Great of tgem to support Laat Thursday.
Super quick service and cordial waiter. Love this place
A friend and i was at Marlins on a Saturday in the evening. The service was ok until it started to get busy. Once it got busy the service was terrible.
The food was great, and the staff friendly.
Got the three meat skillet, and fried breakfast potatoes where just a thick cut french fries deep fried.
Definitely an American restaurant. A menu with enough variety and the option to breakfast at supper.
My kids always love going here. Food is fine.
Good food, big portions.
Closed for business two days after I went there
Great staff. Breakfast buffet was ok
Food was ok. Three of us had the Mexican Omelet. It was ok. A bit salty and the meat wasn't the best. I've had better. I was disappointed that there were only three veggie choices if you wanted an entree; California blend, corn on the cob and baked beans. That's why we went with the omelet. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. But we waited quite a but before being shown to a booth, and the man paying in front of us was not happy. They had forgotten to bring their pie and their meat wasn't done correctly. I'm guessing this place is probably hit or miss. Cant say it was a bad experience, but not my top choice.
Marlins is the most Family and individual restaurant in Sioux Falls. The meals are just like Mom used to create and tastes so darn good. I am a frequent client and look for ANY excuse to frequent Marlin's. YYYUUUMMM!
Good breakfast and wonderful service
Nice open restraunt, friendly staff, and good food.
. Good food fast easy to get in and out and with a Buffet
Great food and Service!
What can I say. The food sucked. The service was horrible. No match for Josiahs downtown Sioux Falls or even Culvers.
Great service decent food.
Was busy Christmas day, buffet food was good, kept stocked and service was great.
Good portions, reasonably priced......
I order at our downtown local Marlin often, but today our Manager was spot on, thank you!
Every time I call in an order for pick up at a specific time it was either not made when I went to get it, or was cold from just sitting until I arrived. I know that other locations of this chain are good, but the Minnesota Ave location is just terrible. I will never eat there again.
Amazing place to get breakfast with the family! Very friendly and fast to get you served. I recommend the three meat skillet I've ordered it every time for the past few years it never gets old.
Great food and service
I had the Saturday "brunch" buffet. It was ok, but I would have been upset if they didn't have a "kids eat free" on Saturdays and had to pay 7 bucks a kid for a mediocre "brunch" type meal. That and you only get one free kids buffet with each paying adult. In my opinion, Denny's or IHOP would have been cheaper and had a lot better food.
Great good and always friendly service!
Favorite place to go for breakfast try the giant caramel rolls they're delicious
great service. good food. decent price
Good service. Friendly staff. Parmesan Turkey melt hit the spot.
Awesome food ... WW , North Carolina.
Cool.relaxed place to enjoy meals.
Steak was bloody and made other items on my dish bloody. The whole meal was ruined.
Great Food and Service Will go back again
Ok let's talk French toast, Cinnamon French toast, Cinnamon French toast with icing, it was so good and they give you four big pieces. Yummy!
