Great local restaurant in Spearfish, SD. It has an excellent menu comprised of steaks, fish and pasta. I had the halibut and it was superb. My wife had shrimp and pasta and was very happy. The other couple had rib eye and it was perfect. Also super friendly servers and unique wine selection. Definitely will go again.

It takes a lot for me to get put off by food. I’m not sure what the Indian artichoke was about but it was not a dish to serve at a restaurant and feel good about. Lobster roll was pretty disappointing.

Killian's staff rocks, they knew the menu and the beers like the back of their hand the couple times I have been here. The burgers are good, well done but good. Don't let that fool you though Killian's doubles as a gastro pub!

Seems that good food is hard to come by in south dakota! my husband and I have been visiting for 9 days . Food in Rapid City, Keystone, Hill City, Custer, Sturgis ...NOT GOOD AT ALL. Killigans is great, stumbled upon it while visiting Spearfish. Best food in the area. great food/menu, great cocktails. We like to sit at the bar and chit chat with locals and the bartender . Highly recommended!

We stopped here for lunch yesterday and sat at the bar. They have an extensive selection of beers on tap. We shared a burger and a kale and beet salad. Both were very good. The burger comes with homemade sweet potato chips. Yum. Jared the bartender was extremely attentive. I would come back.

We ended up here after waiting over 10 minutes at Sanford's without even being talked to. we got up and went next door to Killians. Best idea of the day. We ate multiple appetizers and and was served within moments of arrival. The appetizers are godly and deserve your attention. The curry artichoke dip makes me happy. Whenever I am back in spearfish I'm gonna be here again. I highly recommend this restaurant to any traveler or local.

The menu has many options ranging from steaks and burgers, to seafood pasta. There are options for everyone including vegan and gluten free and everything I've ever ordered has been delicious. And with the craft beers being about 5 dollars, it's hard to beat Killians when talking about local burgers and beer.

Killians is a food oasis in the Black Hills. The food was unique and flavorful. The artichoke and blue cheese soup of the day was great. Thai chicken wrap was tasty and their teriyaki Brussel sprouts were worthy as well, but a little on the salty side. It is difficult to find a local place outside the casinos which isn’t “pub food” so it’s worth the drive to quench your taste buds.

Service was great. We sat outside because we have 2 dogs and our server gave the dogs water with ice. She was really nice. We ordered fried calamari and stuffed mushrooms for our appetizer, it was good. My cousin ordered the Buffalo burger and it was really good according to her. My chicken sandwich was ok (border line of good and bad---I almost don't like it). Not a fan of their fries. Foods were served in a timely manner.

Killian's is a Spearfish favorite. It has an understated dinning area for the quality of food it provides. The meals are cooked well and to order with obvious attention to detail. The Ahi Club with sweet potato fries is my go to plate but I have never been disappointed with anything I have ordered there. Also, their beer selection is the best in town featuring local, domestic, and imports. Bottled and on tap. All the staff is professional and pleasant.

We have been going to this restaurant for the last 8 years and when it was different name too. Food was good, sevice was good, until the check came. Had both cash in card in check book. Server pocket cash and charge full amount on card!!!! Really dude you thought the $100 dollars was a tip!!! Never going there again!!!!

OH MY GOODNESS! FABULOUS ! We are here for the Sturgis Rally. This BY FAR has been the BEST MEAL! It’s not pricey at all. Two for dinner and a couple of glass of wine only $50.00. I’m lactose intolerant the chief made me the Jerusalem Chicken without Park cheese and added a few new twist! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Wow! INCREDIBLE! BEST MEAL IVE HAD ALL WEEK! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Google it, it’s off the beaten path however, WELL WORTH IT!

I’ve made two visits to Killian’s while in town, both times were excellent experiences. I think it’s safe to say locals consider it to be a staple. I recommend the marinated zucchini, Brussels sprouts (and if you’re too cool for veggies think again there’s bacon included), and the country fried chicken steak with poutine. Service was on point; not overbearing, yet consistently observant of your dining and drinking needs. I’ll be back again.

We stopped for lunch on about 1:00 on a Wednesday in late September. Although there was still a good sized lunch crowd, we were seated and waited on immediately. My wife wanted to try one of their craft beers and the pleasant and efficient waitress took the time to listen to what kind of beers my wife likes and then made a recommendation-- my wife loved her recommendation. We were also impressed by the wide variety of dishes available on the menu. My wife chose the 1/2 lb, mushroom and Swiss cheese burger with the sweet potato chips her side dish. The burger was perfectly cooked to order, very thick, and juicy. She also loved the chips. I had the Poutain: French fries, cheese curds, a large (and thick) chicken fried steak, and everything covered in a tasty brown gravy. It was also delicious. We were very happy to have chosen Killians. It may not be the cheapest option in town for lunch (each meal was about $12--$13, and the beer was about $4), but the portions were generous, everything was delicious, and the service was great.

Rating is on service. We were sitting outside. The waitress asked who wanted waters, then suggested we go to the bar to get our drinks. Which we did, never saw her again. There were 4 people at the bar and one table of 4 inside. Needless to say, we won't be back. We were 8 couples.

Killian's used to have amazing food, but I think they recently changed chefs. Of the 4 dishes we ordered, 2 were not good, 1 was okay, and 1 was good. The curry was so strong in the spiced vegetable curry that it was inedible. I could almost feel the grit of spices when I ate it. The green Chile was subpar, but if you like a heavily tomatillo- based Chile, this might be for you. The warm kale and beet salad has changed a lot since I ate at Killian's two years ago. This was a meal that I tried to replicate and never could- perfectly sauteed kale (and a generous amount) with a hint of spice and tasty beets. However, at my most recent visit, it was small handful of overcooked baby kale with some beets, and I couldn't taste the Tabasco sauce. My boyfriend liked the chicken bacon tortellini, and the beer selection at Killian's is hard to beat. They carry a variety beers from all around the country on tap.

Surprisingly upscale options that go beyond burgers and steaks. But the burger I had was amazing. I'll stop back in my next time through town. Very good micro beer selection. Limited parking is the most noticeable downside. Furnishings could use an upgrade (both my chair and table wobbled) but the food and service were outstanding. Plan to go during non-rush times for an optimal experience.

Killian's is generally very good. Local, self taught chef with interesting views of food and politics. Most everything on the menu is good. All of the burgers are inspired. Order the fries well done, it makes them extra special. The beef tips are signature, but in my opinion need work. The flavors separate after a few minutes on the table. They have a wonderful, unique, and local flavor at the full bar with knowledgeable bar tender to help with beverages selection. Well worth a visit.

They have a great beer selection but the prices are outrageous. My husband ordered a beer that he had gotten at The Independent Ale House in Rapid for $6 that was $10 at Killians. The food is never consistent. Our last visit, I ordered the sashimi nachos and it came out with a PILE of goat cheese and little of everything else. I think for as much as you pay, the quality should be a lot higher and consistent.
