My friends at I just had the worst experience at this restaurant out of any restaurant experience, including fast food. We were there for almost an hour, and 2 out of the 3 people there received only parts of thier order. One of our party received no food whatsoever. We also received no apology at all for the lack of service, or the incorrect orders. We will not be returning to this restaurant, and would reccomend that others do not either.

Greeted by friendly, helpful staff. They were very helpful, answering our questions and describing the food. We had smoked salmon and avocado sushi rolls and a bulgogi bento box. All the food was delicious at a good price. I will definitely return on my next visit to the Rapid City area!

Absolutely HORRIBLE service! Twice we have ordered take out from them via a delivery service and they have failed to even make the order! Ordered sushi and 2.5 hours later and it still didn't show up! We called and they said it "wasn't ready yet" aka we just didn't do your order. How does it take over 2 hours to make? Has happened not once but twice recently! I wouldn't even give them 1 star if I had the choice, this is way too generous! Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else!

We always love eating here. The food here is simply amazingly delicious! The boys devoured their beef and noodles. My oldest boy enjoyed the Aloha Chicken Katsu served with 3 different Kimchi. My daughter had the noodles and rice chicken and wouldn't share. I had the Bibimbop. I went without the stone bowl, won't make that mistake next time. It was delicious but just tastes better in a hot stone bowl. The only negative we had this trip was the lack of service. Our server could have been more attentive. But it wasn't enough to keep us from coming back.

Me and my wife have been twice. There sushi is AMAZING!!!!! The only reason I am not giving a 5 star is because of the service. I had to wane down someone after sitting there for 10 mins to get dribks!!!!! Absolute disappoint because of the service was awesome we would go back more often. But if you like sushi then go.

New owner as of April 2019! Amazing quality sushi, fish is always light and tasty. Best thing to do is ask what the Sushi Chef Moe wants to make you. He gets extremely creative with rolls off the menu if you ask. Wait staff is fast and friendly with attention to special requests if needed. An experience here is like no other. Bring a family to enjoy a sailboat of sushi with a cozy atmosphere to dine in.

This place gave us some of the best service in town. The food was delicious! Especially the beef bulgogi. I was raving about how much I loved the kimchi zucchini so the chef brought me out some FRESH to take home. It was so kind, and I could see she really has passion for the food she makes! Today I waited for my food in this restaurant for an hour. After an hour the two people I was with got their food, and I still did not receive my appraiser. When I told the server, he said "oh really" and left. After another 10 minutes I left. This is the first time I've ever left a restaurant out of anger. I really love this restaurant until an hour ago, I'm literally stunned.

Fantastic Korean/Japanese in West Rapid. On the outside it looks like a little hole in the wall, inside it is a gem. Delicious food, great service, and a overall fantastic experience. Definitely recommend.

Went in around 1 PM so not anywhere near closing time. Walked in and stood there for about five min so I started to wander around. I could see some folks talking. Stood and waited. Then one of the people in the conversation say I'll be right with you. After finishing his conversation he then tells us to grab a seat anywhere(why he didn't just say at the get go is beyond me) we go into the dinnjng area where there was one table taken but almost every table was dirty. We sit down a small table, the only other clean table was a 10 person table. Waited for a few min when the guy comes in gives us a couple of menus and then just left us. Again. There was nobody there and it had been around 10 min and still not even a beverage order. So we just left. Might have good food, but didn't want to hang out to try. We will try again later when they aren't so busy.

Four of our five person group ordered sushi. The sushi chef and two other staff members seemed to have plenty of time to stand around and visit while the kitchen prepared the fifth meal for our table. It arrived a full 25 minutes before our sushi. I expressed my disappointed to our server during his one visit to refill drinks. I received our ($100) check and again expressed my disappointment with the experience. He apologized but offered no discount on the meal or any other reparation. Mediocre food, poor service, all over-priced.

Couldn't stay once we saw the sushi "chef" grab the inside of the trash can to move it and proceed to start his order. Hana was empty at 8 o'clock, and I can see why! No music, poor quality assurance and not an enjoyable atmosphere. The decor was nice but not nearly enough to save it from a quit exit.

Some of the best bul go gi I have had in an long time. They will also make you Kim Bap on request. Unlike other recent visits to Korean restaurant this one supplied enough Bul Go Gi to fill me up and them some. It was a struggle to finish. The less than perfect were: The usual sides were weird. The cucumber was spicier than normal and very tangy(like sour patch kids), the cabbage was also tangy. The sprouts were normal. Those are all the three you get. Then there was some awkwardness with the servers. Dont know how to explain it but you could feel the tension. I will go back before I leave because it was that good.

Should have guessed when it was empty to go somewhere else. I asked for beef in my Soondubu. They said sure no problem. It came with shrimp instead. So had to wait to remake. The broth was watery and barely any veggies. Gyoza was pretty bad. You could tell they were cooked from frozen ones you can buy in walmart. The dish my husband got made him sick.

Hana use to be a good place to eat. My son know's I love sushi so he picked some up for me yesterday. The seafood is not sushi grade. You could tell it was old. My son said it took forever to get their food and they were not busy. I tried to call to complain but no answer from their phone number listed on this site. I would not recommend this restaurant. You can really get sick if sushi isn't prepared properly and I don't think what I got was.

Three tables seated after me. All three have had their drink orders taken, two have had their food orders taken....and so far I haven't even been acknowledged. In case you wonder why I got up and walked out. This service is not unusual for them, but tonite I am just sick of it. A table for one will get you nowhere here, even if you are a good tipper that has been coming in for years.

Unfortunately this used to be our favorite place to get sushi in town. This last time we were in was one of the worst experience I have had in a restaurant in awhile. We were greeted, seated, and our drinks given to us by the owners children (very cute kids, not very professional). The waiter was abrasive and not very professional as well. Some of our food was forgotten and our chicken came out burned to a crisp. The only good thing I will say is the sushi is still delicious, so I would recommend only ordering take out sushi from Hana. I'm so very sad and disappointed, this used to be my favorite restaurant in town.

We came on a bad night I believe. Much confusion over our order. 2.5hr wait that turned into more confusion.... our sushi chef fixed my Nigiri order. Then proceeded to fix the rest of our orders. We decided after our wait it best to go home. He is the only reason I gave 1 star. He says hes been there 5 years since the restaurant received full star reviews. My advice to the owner , the guy you're dating... find someone else or leave the dog at home. Hes an embarrassment to your establishment, he was passed out in the foyer , he was trashy with clientele and was acting a fool outside talking to my husband about personal details. He proceeded to walk back in, didnt wash hands, and started to make food. Which appalled the both of us and I was grateful he hadn't prepared my sushi!! My order was Teriyaki Chicken dinner. Nigiri yellowtail and salmon/cream cheese rolls. My husbands order was crab rangoon appetizer with a pork loin dinner . Noted right away he has an onion allergy. Food was brought with onions. Taken back. At which time (been here 2.5hr) also noticed, my main course had never been started? I recieved sushi. Not what I ordered, I was charged for sushi that I didnt want (8.95 vs nigiri 2.95) each order (x2). So essentially 12$ more. My husband recieved gyoza, although not bad, not what he ordered. He was not charged for appetizer. Attached is photo of my dinner I'm now at home eating. Flavor is great. I'm happy and filling up choosing instead to try to be appreciative we even got our orders before we left.

I saw a discount online for $10 off about 2 months ago. bought it as we do enjoy stopping there when in town. we live 40 miles away and both of us work full time so we usually only get to RC evenings and weekends. we stopped in for dinner and tried to use our coupon and were informed that is was only good for lunch business Monday thru Friday. read the coupon and sure enough, says it right there. Our Bad... expires today, no way we can make a lunch stop, I called and asked if an exception could be made since we live so far out etc. Hostess was very nice, talked to the manager and informed us the owner was absolutely adamant that NO exceptions will be mad no matter what. OK - we loose 10 bucks... in my opinion, this owner has no respect for the customer. none. my wife and I will never go here again. I recommend anyone else do the same. there are plenty of good restaurants around that work hard to earn our business and appreciate our patronage.

Hana is one of the best Asian-style restaurants in Rapid City. The food is well prepared, and the setting modest-but-comfortable. I have been to this restaurant a couple of times, and haven't found anything on the menu that I don't like. Although I'm not a sushi eater, other people I've gone with have had the rolls and say they're very good. If you're looking for a local, unassuming restaurant with a great menu of options, Hana is the place.

Sushi was tasty and the staff was very friendly but also very clearly not experienced. The waitress was unable to answer questions about the menu without literally just reading the description in front of us, one dish came 15 minutes before any others and the bean sprouts were very distinctly burnt. Next they ran out of ingredients to make an order, no big deal but I wasn't brought another menu so I had to just guess at another choice blindly. It's not even like they were just overwhelmed, there were only 2 tables occupied. Clearly no one factor is really a big deal but it was just one minor annoyance after another to ultimately get a very small portion of sushi (6 slices, perhaps 1.5 inch around, under half an inch thick) that, while tasty, wasn't so great it made up for the other issues.

The food was amazing, beef bulgogi, and yakisoba. Overall the food and experience was good the only downside in my opinion is I still can't justify almost 20 dollars for the portion of beef bulgogi that you get and the amount of vegetables that gets loaded I to yakisoba noodles to me seems like it's mainly there to add some depth or make it look like a huge amount of noodles. When you remove the veggies you are left with the same smaller portions that you get with the bulgogi which they claim it's around 1lb of meat which it doesn't seem like it. But don't let that stop you from enjoying their food. 2nd best in my opinion to the real things as I have lived in Japan and South Korea so I have tasted the originals. Still will frequent this place from time to time.

Went here all the time. They have good food but has gone downhill a little since they moved. Today i ordered the same thing i always order the beef bul gogi and kids sushi and got told i cannot have yhe kids sushi because im not under 12. I said ok but i like my tamgo in a roll and not inari can i get it that way and pay the inari price. Of course i didnt get what i ordered

(EDIT: July 12 2018 they still are unable to punch in orders. Ordered made 30 mins before I showed up, when I got there they had no clue what order! Had not been entered and cooked! What a bunch of incompetents. I'd rather starve than go there again! ) Made an order for Take Out today and waited 25 minutes as instructed before I picked it up. Upon getting there, they had no clue about my order and then realized the lady who answered the phone forgot to punch the order in. It took 45 minutes for them to then produce my order. What a waste of my evening. Food is good though.

Used to love this place. Now sushi is the only thing that's good. I feel bad saying it because I've loved. coming here. Two children under 10 years old greeted and sat me and my family. They were cute and very sweet, but when they took my drink order it got a little weird having to ask two children barely 8 years old to wait on me. The other waiter meant well, but did not seem very experienced. My wife's Bul Gogi was charred black. It was bad enough that we had to send it back and ask that it be taken off the bill, which we wouldn't normally do. The sushi was good as always, but after paying for my food I realized they had not applied the buy one get one half off. They are supposed to do that every sushi meal all day Monday through Thursday. The owner herself rang me up. I hardly believe that she would forget to apply that. Very disappointed that a restaurant I've once loved has fallen so far. The sushi chef was the only person there who excelled. He even got my order right by listening from across the restaurant, when my server himself had gotten it wrong. Again I feel bad even posting this harsh review. That's the reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1.

The prices are only matched by their egos; enormously over inflated. The food tastes like McDonald's french fries, and costs as much as a McD's restaurant. Rolls start at $7.95 and that's for a six piece with no meat. I ended up paying 8 dollars for four tiny slivers of tofu, some sauce and lettuce. If I'd have known, I'd have gone to the Safeway down the street and bought a pound of tofu, a head of lettuce and a bottle of sauce. Then eaten all of it raw and been much happier. The sketchy sushi place on lacrosse is better than this. Hell, even the Coco Palace is better than this, and it's empty for a reason.
