The general experience was positive and you can see where you could have a 5 star experience.... but the entire bottom of my meatloaf was burnt to a crisp & my friends steak was a terrible piece of meat. That said the staff was great and with a few changes I would have given them a five star rating but 0 for 2 meals doesn't get 5 stars.

Excellent Sunday brunch buffet

Could definitely be a five star experience with a little polish and charm. Went for sunday brunch, for $18 per person, it was quite well laid out. Prime rib done just right rare and good peel and eat shrimp. The omelette station was quite good while the make your own Benedict fell a bit flat. Good offerings also include the reggiano hash brown potatoes and homemade sausage gravy as well as the make your own doughnut bar. The all you can drink bloody Mary or mimosa offering at 9 bucks is well worth the price for an early sunday hammering. The service was a bit lackadaisical for my taste as our server could of been a little more attentive. It appears from other reviews that your experience may be hit or miss, thankfully my first experience there was a hit and I will be back to further investigate, will post an update when that happens.

I go here often. It seems that management has brought some significant intention to service, quality and overall experience. The selection was good. Our server was prompt, accurate and friendly, and the food overall is well above average. They are kid friendly when needed yet the atmosphere and service are great for the after work crowd. Overall, an excellent experience.

We went on a Sunday afternoon which is often a time where service slacks at some restaurants but not only was our food excellent but the staff, particularly our waitress was phenomenal! I told my wife that we need to put this restaurant on our rotation of restaurants we frequent.

Been going here for a year , almost always great ! Two complaints are sometimes waiters take too long despite not being too busy and secondly what bothered me most was the the ridiculously thin slice of prime rib the guy cut for me at the 17+dollar brunch on Sunday , I almost moved his knife over 2 inches for him . So much for having some prime rib .

The drinks are always spot on but the food is not consistently good. I usually get the Asian Chicken Salad and they often put on so much dressing that it's pooled in the bowl. I have to get the dressing on the side and mix it myself because they don't just measure the same amount of dressing on every salad. I would recommend a steak (I like the sirloin) but I find their burgers super basic and kind of low quality meat

This place is ok. I have never been blown away by the food. For the price, I think some portions are small. The restaurant itself though is very clean and nice. The staff have always been kind and accommodating! I love the outdoor seating area. But speaking about the food in general - We often overlook this place.

Not at all impressed.....very poor wait staff....food was marginal....would have been better if it had not set under the heat lamps for 20 minutes.... IMHO.....our waiter a complete moron. ONLY time attentive was when we asked for check.....it was not even busy....3:30 on a saturday....ordered appetizers....never got them....on positive side....were not charged for them either. I would hope that they read this....not going to sell much beer with current staff.....

You might as well go to Apple bee's. The new menu is terrible and the items they kept from the old menu are a noticeably downgraded version of the previous. Granite City was my favorite place to eat casually until about a month ago. I will never eat there again unless they return to their original menu and food quality.

Unfortunately, on occasion, service is next to none, and I recommend *always* avoiding the "brunch" buffet. If you accidentally wind up there on a Sunday morning and get a brunch menu, ask for the lunch menu. If it's too early for the lunch menu, go anywhere else instead; even McDonald's on their off day is going to be better.

I absolutely love this food chain. My favorite dish is the Chicken focaccia sandwich with spinach artichoke dip sauce and waffel fries. Every meal at this place is really large, so you can easily bring half of it back home. They also serve very good mimosas here.

Sat on the patio and the service was very slow. The server seemed to disappear for extended periods of time. My guess splitting time between inside and outside tables. The food was average and the pulled pork was a bit dry. The manger stopped by every table except ours. But, the absolute worst thing... I ate 1/2 my meal before the beer arrived. Only thing bumping this up to 2 stars was the beer. It was really good. This place has a nice patio area for the area. But, I have always been disappointed in service and food.

Came to Granite City Food & Brewery on our visit to Sioux Falls and loved it! Came during happy hour and got boneless wings, chicken quesadilla, and pork nachos for $5 each. All three dishes were excellent and the flights we ordered were nice sized pours. Our server was great and the manager came over to ask how our meal was. Overall excellent experience!

To preface this, I have been to Granite City several times over the years and it has been alright, but today was the worst experience I have ever had. The soda's were flat, the waffle fries were undercooked, the burger was overcooked, the server and her trainee (which I still don't know who was being trained) did not seem to have their act together. They sold me on the upgrade to waffle fries and Granite City dip, but the dip came out after my fries were mostly gone. Thank god you took it off the bill, it honestly never should've been there in the first place. It was the most chaotic experience and just trying to get my point across to the server was a nightmare. Please give me a moment to respond rather than just walk away. You are assuming your food is good when it just isn't. I won't be returning and I suggest you consider skipping it this time.

While ordering/waiting at the omelet bar I watched as the ceiling literally rained copious amounts of water into the omelet ingredients being used. There were a few dirty towels on the floor by the omelet bar, as well as a caution wet sign, but other than that nothing was being done to move the omelet bar or protect the food that was being soaked with water from the ceiling. I notified the company as I'm sure this is in violation of many health codes, but never heard back.

The atmosphere and food were fantastic. We sat outside and had Robert for a waiter. He was extremely helpful and friendly as were the rest of the staff. The food alone is 5 stars (I got the watermelon martini, and the Idaho Nachos. My husband got the meatloaf and one of their local beers...my mouth is still watering thinking about it). And they brew their own really tasty beer. It's safe to say, the next time we're in SD we'll be stopping by here again.

Today we went there for our makeup Mother's Day Brunch, because I forgot to make reservation last week, and it was very crowded, we would have to wait for an hour to get a table. So this week I called ahead and reserved a table for 5. They have a nice selection for the buffet brunch, lots of meat items, make-to-order omelet station, etc. Would definitely go back again.

Last night I ate at Granite City and I forgot to tell the waiter that I didn't want onions on my flat bread pizza and within minutes they had another come out and they didn't even charge me. I wait all year long for the German Wurst platter. Delicious! The only hitch this time was my wife ordered just a bratwurst and they gave her my jalapeno brat. We're adults, we sorted it out. Always a nice variety of beers. The Octoberfest is very sessionable.

4/29/18 - called in the morning to ask whether we can reserve for 9 for around 11:00am. The restaurant staff stated they don’t do reservations but allow walk-ins. So we went to the restaurant and they couldn’t not accommodate sitting us. The staff was rude and unprofessional. No customer service skills here.

Good quality food and beer. The food has never disappointed me here, with their salad options being well made and very generous in portion. Where I feel this place shines however is their beer choices. Great brew, and the staff know how to recommend based on your tastes. Get a flight for a sample of their stuff, but their porters shine here for me. I keep hearing about their Sunday brunch from all my local friends and family. It seems to be a popular choice, but have not tried it myself.

On 5/16/18 we arrived there in Sioux Falls SD. Great food but we had a problem getting it! Manager was making excuses for the delay and even making snide comments about the delay. We got a reduction on the ticket but we would rather have a better experience. Manager needs firing!

We were in from out of town and made a reservation for 7 at 6. We got right in and the table was ready. The kitchen and wait staff were slammed. They made a couple of missteps, but Josie (spelling) the manager was a real professional and picked it up and kept things moving. I recomend this restaurant.

They offer more than just orange juice, with cranberry, pineapple, and grapefruit as well. While drinking our bubbles we also took advantage of the bottomless brunch, that basically offered any breakfast food known to man. Donuts and eggs, and fruit and sausage, bacon and potatoes and everything in between. Our waitress was fantastic! She was bubbly and attentive. She checked in on us consistently, getting us refills and making sure our food was tasting just right. Parking and the wait may be a bit rough, but it is completely worth it. If I'm ever back in Sioux Falls you can find me here!

Went as a family for my daughters 21st. Hostess was friendly and stated she could get lava cake desert free for her birthday ! We were seated quickly at one of the many open tables. Our server was rude and made it clear she didn't want to be there. Then I had a hard time getting her back to the table. Needing to ask some guy? The paired beer was terrible the mixed drinks got left unfinished. While waiting the hour it took to get food, i looked around. There was filthy slop buckets in the kitchen area complementing the rest of the sticky atmosphere. A fire ensued in the kitchen ,subsequently being put out with a fire extinguisher. I was served raw burned green beans along side my extra well done steak. Then the server said no lava cake .Only mini Brownie thing. After another wait ,burned to inedible. This meal was so incredibly bad it could have been a comedy tv show. Though the staff couldn't care less.Bring your video camera if you some how get coerced into eating here. Maybe you can get your 100s of dollars back from funniest home videos.

Had lunch here on a rain day, the fish and chips where awesome and plentiful. The fish was fried to perfection, with in house Cole slaw that was excellent, the fries were excellent as well. My coworker had the jumbalua and that was soupurb as well. We both enjoyed the Broad Axe Stout... Simply amazing beer, not too hoppy... Not to coffeesk... Smooth thick and beautiful. Would highly recommend any of the Granites I've been to to anyone.

We were seated really quickly but waited 10 minutes before I had to get up and ask for a server, all while about 7 different servers walked around the patio area. When we put our drink and food order in, it took 10 more minutes to get a beer, martini, and a water which I had to ask for twice. Food was decent but not really worth all the waiting around. I complained to the same lady about how slow service was 3 times and had to ask her to take our bills because our server never came back for them. She said she was going to talk to a manager about it for us but then nothing was taken off the bill. Spent well over an hour there and most of it was spent waiting. Not worth paying the higher prices for such crappy service. First and last time going there.

Our wait was short for a Saturday night. The menu isn't great and the base from the music was a bit annoying. I got the Limone Chicken and my husband got the mac n cheese dish. The portions were small for the price. Having said that, it was the best chicken I've ever had at a restaurant. My husband really loved his pasta too, he just wished there was more of it. Also, they were out of a few things we wanted to try.

This was my first time visiting South Dakota so I wanted to try a different kind of restaurant than what we have in Maryland. This was one of the few places actually open, as everything in SD clearly shuts down between 9 and 10. When I walked in, there was a small child sitting on the countertop where the greeter was. I then overheard the waitress stating she was ready to go and didn’t want to wait another table :/. She also kept disappearing. The beer I wanted was sold out, as was the food I ordered. The flavor of the food was just ok. Not worth the money I paid. I think I should’ve just gone with my first instinct and gotten a burger. Nobody can mess up a burger. I gave the post two stars because the manager did come out to explain the food discrepancy. I appreciate good customer service. Would not visit again.

Was turned away from the door saying their kitchen was closed even though the website and door say open until midnight. As I was calling the manager a man came out with to-go food. The manager was apathetic and seemed to care more about arguing with me than keeping business.

Poor customer service. Waited for a table on a Wednesday for about 15 minutes. After we were seated in direct sun, our waitress took our order and didn't come back for over 15 minutes. We got up and left. We were too hot and thirsty to stay. Very dissatisfied as we were looking to order the filet steak dinners.

The food is always good here (steaks could use less seasoning). I'm never a fan of the service at granite city though. I absolutely despise "auctioned" food (who had the salad... Who had the steak. Etc)! Everyone runs everyone's drinks and food so by the time you get your food, you forget who your server is. They don't use trays for drinks... by the time the server gets to the table with your drinks, their hands are soaked which is very sloppy. To get the best service at granit city, i sit at the bar. Something you can't do with a large party.

I ordered the buffet today and my husband ordered a wedge salad. Lots of the buffet items were cold and the staff didn't refill items. I was completely done eating before his sallad came to the table.

My wife and I always tend to go here when we are going out and can't decide on a location. The food is always good and not overpriced. The beer isn't the best in Sioux Falls, but they do put out some decent limited time beers throughout the year. I highly recommend becoming a mug club member. It's nice being able to go in and get a mug instead of a glass for the same price.

Went here on Father's day after a horrible experience at Sickies next door. Greatest immediately by a friendly bartender who help us pick out great beer that fit each individual. Also had an amazing brunch buffet that has the best cinnamon rolls ever!
