We have the feddbacks of real people who know the products of The Macintosh (Restaurant) in the area close to South Carolina.
To this day this firm has a score of 4.6 out of 5 and the score has been calculated on 470 reviews.
As you can see its rating is almost the highest, and it's based on a very large number of scores, so we can think that the assessment is quite faithful. If there are many people who bothered to give their review when they've done well, it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to set tatings when these are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Restaurant belongs to the category of American restaurant.
Good service, quality inputs but dishes are hit & miss. At this class, you expect consistent, quality execution. While the Macintosh strives for such, several of the items fell flat in flavour balance and one was very poorly executed. Meanwhile, other items were excellent as you'd expect. Completely mixed bag on execution. Wanted to really like the place but left feeling it was only slightly better than average.
Joe, the bartender, was perfect. My husband and I visited tonight for dinner and upon finding out we were on our honeymoon, the entire staff treated us to a free gnudi appetizer AND a free dessert!! This place is just amazing and the food is absolutely delicious.
Loved Macintosh the minute we walked in on Sunday, October 6th for brunch. Great vibe, atmosphere and certainly the food was delicious and presented perfectly. I really want to acknowledge the precious and professional service we received and especially mention the great welcome and attention to detail from the manager, Katie! Thank you Katie for making us feel nurtured and special all the way from Denver. We will be back. Craig Davis
Great staff, amazing food, beautiful room.
Scam. Smallest portions in the world. Went to get dinner after eating there
Always great. No matter the reason you drop in.
Delicious brunch! Such friendly staff!
This was Grass Roots Kitchen formerly, same company, Oct 1st, they just changed the concept to fit the location and to appeal to their costumers in the area. I have been to former restaurant as well which was very good. The Macintosh continues to have the same really nice employees that offer great service. Had a nice menu selection and great happy hour deals daily. The food was really good. I had the shrimp and grits, husband had the prime rib sandwich. Both were very tasty and filling. I look forward to returning.
We really enjoyed our dinner at The Macintosh. We were looking for an option with southern food but with a bit of a more modern approach and in a livelier setting than you find in many of the classic Charleston restaurant favorites... And this place delivered. Great food. Great service. If you have trouble getting a reservation, you can probably grab 2 seats at the bar for dinner.
Visited Macintosh during restaurant week and had a wonderful time. Very clean and uncluttered establishment that was nicely arranged. Staff was professional and supported each other. Was nicely surprised they didn't have an edited or short menu for week, they offered normal 3 course menu. Drinks were amazing, I elected for the Bees Knees (yum). The Tillery Bread started my meal, followed by Pork Schnitzel that was amazing and finished with a heavenly caramel refrigerator dessert. Menu prices were excellent for the meal we consumed. Will visit again.
A fine dining disguised as a bar. This place is seriously amazing. The food was out of this world, start to finish. Our server, MaryCatherine was incredibly knowledgeable about alcohol pairings and all of the food. She helped advised the pace of our meal and was able to tell us about anything we had questions about. I could not speak highly enough about her. The food was perfectly cooked and innovative. No foods that were out of the ordinary, just unique and smart flavor combinations. I strongly recommend this place?
Great cocktails, inventive menu with well executed cooking. Only letdown were the desserts. I'd go back next time I'm in town!
WAAAAAY OVER PRICED!
The food was excellent! My husband had the best gin gimlet of his life here! Go and enjoy :)
Exceptional service, always on point. The menu is always fresh, changing daily. The bone marrow bread puding is the best on the menu.
Best Brunch in Charleston
Excellent cocktails and apps. The bartender was efficient and skilled and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
So good!
Great service. Interesting choices for food. I had witchdoctor drink. Bonemarrow bread was good.
Food was very good. Make reservations in advance. Bar was too busy for the server to get our drinks to us before dinner, and the second round came after we had finished our meals which made the experience less than idea. This restaurant was excellent. All the food was outstanding and the service was wonderful. The cocktails were also great.Good farm-to-table option among a crowded dining city. The fish “bologna” sliders were awesome! Great, attentive service
We visited Charleston this past week and The Macintosh was our favorite dining experience -- that being said, we also ate at some of the highest rated restaurants of the city like Husk and Hall's Chophouse. Don't get me wrong, we enjoyed those too. The food of downtown is pretty much phenomenal wherever you go. What set The Macintosh apart was the service. We sat at the bar and our bartender Ian one of the best we have ever had. He made sure we were more than well taken care of, made great suggestions, and we really enjoyed chatting with him throughout our visit. Shout out to the other bartender Nelly (I believe that was her name), who was also fun to talk with and knew what I needed before having a chance to ask. The general manager checked on us and the food runners were super friendly as well. This place definitely knows what to do to execute amazing customer service. Now, onto the food! The menu rotates frequently. We didn't want to overdo it and have leftovers as we were leaving the next day, so we didn't order entrees although they sounded really good. We shared street corn (yum!), a rarebit, truffle fries, and a side of summer vegetables. Everything was delicous but dude, the pecorino truffle fries were easily the best fries I have eaten in my entire life. Do yourself a favor and get a side of mac sauce to dip them in, it's way too good. So glad we tried this place. Thank you for a truly amazing experience! We will definitely return next time we are in town.
Vegetarian's have no fear. The seasonal mixed veggies we're fantastic and not your typical lazy nod to vegetarians. The mac potatoes were also a great find...rich and garlicy. Expect to pay for quality of food and service here.
Oh the richness. Brunch review: The Mac Attack is a must: pork belly and poached egg with sauce on bone marrow bread pudding. When we forked up all we could, we asked for bread to sop up the sauce (grilled sour dough? Yes please). Service is helpful, friendly, and attentive. Decor is inviting, and there’s Ray Charles on the radio. The drink menu is extensive, and most tables around have some sort of mimosa, etc. Recommended not to come within 50 feet if on a diet, but you’ll be so happy you came.
This a very nice restaurant with great food, good service and delicious desserts.
Food was good, bar was well stocked, and the location was decent. The prices were more than expected.
The food was excellent. I had the scallops and sweetbreads, both were awesome. The service is excellent and friendly. If you want to over-indulge get the peanut butter cup. I had no regrets!
Wonderful Sunday brunch at The Macintosh! The hostess greated us with a big smile and a warm welcome. Our service was impeccable and the food full of flavor. Big shout out to Tessa for giving us great tips and advice about the greater Charleston area.
Amazing as always. Our waiter Zach was awesome yet again. The Mac is one of our favorite downtown restaurants!
Wonderful food, attentive service. Had Sunday brunch with the pickle brined fried chicken & added a waffle. Reservations are recommended, or you can dine at the bar. Mimosas were tasty, and the local beers on offer were excellent (although selection was limited).
Good food and very friendly staff. Menu has limited options. Truffle fries are very tasty.
Always great. We had a large party in the back patio and everything was fantastic. Food, service, drinks. The beer can chicken was some of the most most and flavorful chicken is ever had. Delicious pulled pork and grouper as well. Everyone really enjoyed it.
By far our best meal in Charelston!
Fantastic! In a town where vegetarian/vegan options in formal restaurants are on the rare side, this place was really a godsend. When we called to make a reservation, the staff was so professional and considerate, asking if there were any dietary restrictions or food allergies. They had a vegetarian entree that they modified for me to be vegan, etc with no problem. Our server had an excellent attitude and could not have been more friendly, enthusiastic, and accommodating. The food was the best I've had in Charleston, hands down.
Oh. My. Gosh. The Macintosh. I got to experience the legendary brunch here. I had the Mac Attack: bone marrow bread pudding, pork belly, poached egg, and hollandaise. Our waiter let us know this was the smallest entree, but for a reason. Sooooo RICH!! I loved every bite, but it took a while to eat. I would recommend asking for hot sauce and forgoing the bloody Mary or mimosa for their house made cold brew coffee.
Best happy hour deals in town from 5 to 7.
Needs to be on the Worlds best Restaurants List! We were looking for a delicious dinner and the recommended one had a private party. Spontaneously we decided to enter The Macintosh. After consultation of the very good menu with very friendly explanations from the service guy, We ordered the Porterhouse Steak with a House Salad and a bottle of Italian Chianti. Just one word: Wow! Awesome what for a 30oz Steak in which quality. Medium red served as ordered with salads and creamy mushed potatoes. It was a very good evening with outstanding service and quality. I would highly recommend an evening there. Thank you team Macintosh!
Amazing food, excellent service, and inviting atmosphere. My wife and I spent 4 days in Charleston and went to over 10 different restaurants, and The Macintosh was clearly the best meal we had. The menu changes to include the best ingredients available throughout the year. We visited at the end of March 2019. Our appetizers included the Surf & Turf board and seared Scallops, and our dinners were the Deckle Steak and Confit Pork (amazingly deep and rich pork flavor). For dessert we had a delicious custard that tasted just like Fruity Pebbles cereal (but much better of course). We also had several specialty cocktails which were all perfectly crafted. Our server Drew was wonderful and made excellent recommendations. The manager came by to check on us several times and was very nice. Next time we are in Charleston, this is the one restaurant we will make sure we visit!! Give it a try, you will not be disappointed.
Loved it. Intresting experience.
Our dining experience could not have been any better! The hostess called us back when there was a cancellation for an earlier time. We were seated right away. Our server, Zach, was fabulous and extremely knowledgeable. The manager was very friendly and attentive. It was by far one of the BEST meals and experiences I’ve had. We will be back!! Thanks!!!
Upscale restaurant with creative food. The savory bread pudding is rich and delicious. Pecprino fries are a huge portion and yummy. I ordered an app with a side of fries for dinner and it was more than enough. Cab deckle is pricey but tender and delicious.
Trendy place with very limited menu that is overpriced. Alcoholic beverages were $8 -$10 per drink, entrees were $25 and more. Wife likes homemade bread. For $5 she received 2 types of bread, each piece was about 2 inches wide and 4 inches long.
Recommended by locals we tried it. Amazing! From reception to wait staff to menu. Food was absolutely delicious! Go!
Local beer for $5 is not the ones on the sign in the bar. Only a select beer of the day. Should be explained or taken off the Happy hour sign. Didn't try the food, but looked good. Came for happy hour beer before dinner to try a few locals
Let me start by saying the service was great. We were a large group and the waitstaff did a great job. Unfortunately this wouldn't be my top choice for a large group if I wear to go back. My group of 12 was seated in the back room. It was very dark and loud. The food wasn't anything spectacular and it isn't cheap. The sharing aspect was appealing with a large group but in practice it was too hard to navigate. I would go back again with a smaller group.
We went for brunch and everything was terrific! The staff was amazing and they even have high life brass monkeys. The poutine with pork belly and an egg was delicious. The Duke was so fluffy and good. The chicken and waffles were great..... honestly everything was great. The chef (Jimmy I think?) Even came out to check on our table. Such a great experience.
We went here for our first anniversary dinner. The food was great, but the service was fantastic. Our waiters were very helpful in describing the dishes and helping us decide on our order, and we're always there for refills of water and drinks. The decor is sort of rustic-chic. I didn't feel out of place in a dress but it's not a formal restaurant. Conveniently located to shopping and parking too.
We had the bread appetizer and the black garlic butter was so rich and flavorful! We both had the burger and it was huge! Thickest burger ever! The truffle fries were addicted. I could have eaten them all! My husband had the Mac potatoes and really like them. Glad we decided to stop here for dinner! The manager was amazing! So friendly and attentive! We will highly recommend this place
Inventive, creative farm to table menu. Suggest asking the knowledgeable servers about the details as written menu alone doesn't do full justice to the options
Max is the man at The Macintosh, first class service and the food is even better. When you visit Charleston, visit The Macintosh and you will be most definitely be rewarded.
Great atmosphere! We enjoyed the bar and cocktails. My wife is pregnant so she really appreciated the mock-tails on the cocktail list. Our waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The duck and the anchovy small plate were delicious!
Came here two nights in a row because this happy hour is unbeatable. Great cocktails and great food! Bartender was AWESOME, loved it!
Great food great service, Jerry our server was very knowledgeable of menu and pairing. Our anniversary dinner celebration was very tasty !
Best service and food in Charleston! We visit here often and for our anniversary dinner for the past 14 years. Go.
I really couldn't decide what to eat here - there were so many choices that sounded intriguing. After choosing and indulging, I decided to return the next day to try something different (I rarely do this when traveling). Enjoyed both visits very much with regard to the quality of the food and the service, but do wish there were a way to reduce the noise level a bit.
Always great food and great service
Great food. Atmosphere was as it should be.
Fantastic food and service. You can’t go wrong here. The collard greens were amazing.
Came here for breakfast on a morning it was 100 degrees and humid. No air conditioning, very slow service and highly overpriced for what you get
Incredible meal, period! These guys know how to treat a guest, discuss the menu and provide an incredible experience. Patrick our waiter was so on top of his game and the overall staff provided incredible hospitality. I can't possibly envision a better spot for great food and overall experience in Charleston, SC. I will be back and hope this review shares enough to let others know, this is a can't miss spot. Great job, Macintosh!
outstanding chef curated menu. our server was great. bone marrow bread pudding was incredible.
Phenomenal food. Always a delight to eat here. The spirit free drinks are even amazing!
Exceptional brunch menu. Drinks and food were perfect. Service was A+ too!!!
This place was OK. That really just sums it up.
Great experience and food presentation
Angela and I had a fabulous time here! Staff worked well together. Manager even jumped in when needed and Zack was very knowledgeable not only about drinks but also about the food down to the detail. You wont have a question to ask. Very friendly with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Some of the best food we ever had. My steak was exceptional and my wife loved her burger. I was sorry i even asked for ketchup for my fries. Compliments to the Chef. 10 out of 10! Highly recommended!
We love this place! Amazing brunch, cool atmosphere, great place for any occasion. We don't usually venture too far with our drinks but we tried their "witch doctor" and it was amazing. Very unique and it has a flower you nibble that numbs your mouth! Amazing!
Way over priced. Good food and drinks but not worth the price.
Food was amazing and the service was top notch. The staff was great. Can't wait to come back!
The breakfast food is pretty good. Its a bit overpriced but you won't leave unsatisfied. The waiters are really friendly and I their drink menu is fantastic.
The Macintosh never disappoints. I went last night for the 4th or 5th time and it blew me away. If you can order the deckle and a fish entree do it. It literally arrives that day along with the veggies and that’s why it’s a true farm to table restaurant. The menu changes based on what’s dropped off each day and if you’re planning to eat on the weekend book in advance. Nicely done Chef Bacon.
Great food! You must try the bone marrow!
Our first night in Charleston did not disappoint. Our server Ryan, well I don't have words to properly articulate how amazing he truely is. He is knowledgeable about the menu so in depth that he could navigate us through both a dairy and gluten allergy. He made sure that everything was safe. Service was flawless, we never had to ask for anything. Even when Ryan was at one of his other tables his colleague was right there clearing used beverage glasses and explaining dessert. And to top it off he already knew about the allergies to make sure our night was top notch. Our silverware was replaced for each and every course. I asked for Ryan to pair a wine with my steak and he did so perfectly. The food was equally astonishing. Properly portioned and flavorful beyond belief. Ryan's service is worth his weight in gold. I will most certainly be back and asking for his service again, thank you for such a wonderful evening.
BEST RESTAURANT IN ALL OF CHARLESTON!!! My husband and I can't stop talking about how this was the BEST MEAL ever! We frequent many "Top" restaurants in major cities and so far none can compare to the quality of our dinner and service last night. The Macintosh just made #1on our list!!!
Great cocktails, amazing bar and interior. Went back for food. Phenomenal. 10/10 would recommend
I have been there many times and the food is just as good as the service. I love the place.
Great food. Fun atmosphere. A wee bit loud
Had such an amazing brunch here for our second day in Charleston! Not only was the food excellent, the service was also top notch. Our server Drew suggested a few items for us on the menu, and they did not disappoint (the bone marrow bread pudding!!!!) and the manager Zach went out of his way to ensure we had the best experience. This is a spot that's not to be missed.
Amazing service, great food. A true gem in Charleston.
One of the best dining experiences I have ever had! From start to finish, everything was amazing. We began with hand-crafted cocktails from the bar, which were out of this world. If you're looking for a great cocktail, go get The Witchdoctor. One of the toughest parts of my evening was deciding what I was going to eat, everything looked amazing. I went with the deckle and was beyond pleased with my decision, although I have no doubt in my mind that any choice would have been excellent. My friend chose the grouper, another amazing dish. We also had the bone marrow bread pudding. It was unreal and ended up being my favorite part of the whole evening. Beyond the food and drinks, the staff was wonderful and made the evening that much more fun and enjoyable. Shout out to Cullen, Matt and Tommy who made our experience fantastic! Thank you Macintosh!! We will be back!
Always great food and outstanding customer service. I have food allergies that are more than accommodating for. Great wine list, and a lovely vibe for dates or drinks.
From start to finish it was a top notch place to celebrate our anniversary with our family. We were greeted warmly and with wishing us Happy Anniversary. After we were at our round table which was beautifully set, we were given a card wishing us Happy Anniversary.
Their menu constantly changes but the duck confit is amazing! We love the vibe here and come here all the time. Highly recommend!!
The service was fantastic, but that's really the only positive we came away with.. This restaurant is ExpEnsiVe. The amount of food was inversely proportional to the price, and it wasn't all that good. The steak, for which they are known, is tasty but we did not enjoy any of the other dishes or sides. Who ever thought to put curry/cumin in blueberry & peach cobbler.... YuCk! The menu is not straight forward and required interpretation from the server. It's very noisy so that I could only converse with the people on either side of me. Free valet parking was offered, which was nice, but not nice enough to entice us to return.
The burgers are delicious.
This was our first dining experience in Charleston, found by looking for a place that was crowded but not that crowded on king street, and it did not disappoint! In fact it set the bar really high for the rest of our trip! We got the twice fried potatoes, which far exceeded our expectations. Also the broccolini, which was perfectly described by our bartender as having a slight subtle char/smokiness to it, and was fantastic. My fiancé had the anchovies that came with it, and loved the flavor it had. We had a fantastic time at the bar- both bartenders made our night with their recommendations and service, as we were there celebrating our engagement <3 we will definitely be back the next time we are in town!!
Omg! The best gastronomic experience and the most amazing staff!
The food was amazing!
Friend staff and the food is some of the best I've ever had... the wrekfish was Great. Only complaint would be the price, it was a little high for the food portions... but would still go back for the flavor of the meal.
Excellent foods. Excellent service and super friendly. No rushed place take your time and enjoy . Very nice place to go ;-)
Visiting Charleston for the first time and we came to The Macintosh. Mary-Catherine was our server and she was amazing. Well versed in her knowledge and love of the food on the menu. Jacob, the head chef, runs a tight kitchen and the food coming out was superb! Julie the manager visited our groups table multiple times always making sure all was well. If you're a foodie, or just simply love a great meal you'll definitely want to hit up The Mac!!
Insanely good food and awesome service. Try the bone marrow bread pudding for dessert... it’s incredible !!!
Amazing food and service!!
Virtually anything you order on this menu you will be ecstatic about. The presentation and flavors are excellent. A casual atmosphere with a warm welcoming feel. The only negative is the place is a little loud.
Delicious! Went for restaurant week. Sat at the bar for the meal and decided on the gnudi, the pork chop, and the bone marrow bread pudding. All three were excellent. Highly recommended!
Best brunch on the planet!!!! Chicken and waffles incredible, bloody Mary's are awesome. service friendly and efficient. I'd recommend sitting outside in the heated patio area.. very kid friendly
Wow. What a fantastic experience. My wife and I dined here on a Friday evening, and from start to finish we felt so very welcome, and the food and service was some of the, if not THE best, I've had in this city. Every single person we interacted with was smiling, friendly, attentive, and all-around exceptionally pleasant. They constantly checked on us while never "hovering" or making us uncomfortable. We truly felt like we were surrounded by friends. Everyone is down-to-earth and all-around awesome. And whom I assume was the manager came to check in on us as well. It felt like everyone there was involved in one way or another. And the food... Oh my was the food fantastic. The proportions were filling and the flavors of the appetizers, entrees, dessert, and drinks, were all exquisite. One drink ended up being a little too strong for my wife, so they brought her a glass of wine instead - on the house. I know that that the profit margin on restaurant wine is pretty high, but regardless, it was a kind gesture which is rarely extended to diners elsewhere (in my experience). This restaurant hits every sweet spot I could think of. Price, portion, taste, options, atmosphere, and staff. I wish I could personally name the the gentleman, manager, and all the other individuals who took such great care of us... but alas, after all day in the hot sun and a very, very well prepared drink, the names did not stick with me. For that I apologise, but to all of the Macintosh team, glorious beards included, thank you for such a wonderful date night with my wife!
Beautiful restaurant. Amazing chef Bacon. You have to stop by.
Stopped in for a drink on a Friday night. Service was great. My husband’s first time in Charleston and loved it. I’d highly recommend it if you’re in the neighborhood!
Absolutely delicious food. Try the bone marrow bread pudding! Zach was amazing, with perfect wine pairings and Julie, the GM, was so sweet and welcoming. I can’t wait to go back!
Food was delicious. We participated in restaurant and they timed the delivery of our 3 courses perfectly. I had plenty of time to digest between courses and never felt rushed and out serve was very patient. For a fun time, try the buzz berry that comes on the Witchdoctor cocktail, my favorite cocktail we tried tho was the SS Pepper. Scallops and Ricotta Gnudi were fabulous.
First time eating at the Macintosh but it exceeded our expectations. Tess was an awesome server and was very accommodating and helpful with ordering gluten-free dishes. The food itself was amazing and the flavors were dynamic. Probably the best scallops I have ever had, and the spicy watermelon sauce was very intriguing. Everyone in the party enjoyed their main dishes as well (grilled swordfish and bavette). Charleston has some amazing restaurants but it's tough to beat the combination of the atmosphere and delicious food at the Mac has to offer. Highly recommended.
Overpriced and menu very limited. Restaurant was very disappointing.
Some delicious dishes, some disasters. Order: Gnudi, bone marrow bread pudding, burger and fries, vegetable plate, Mac potatoes, apple toast (dessert). Great start with the Gnudi, packed with flavor and loved the sweet reduction that complemented the savory in the dish. Tiny portion for 14 dollars but highly reckmmmeded nonetheless. Burger + fries is standard, not insulting but not spectacular medium cooked with a mountain of fries (which were well seasoned, thin crispy fries). Vegetable plate is the huge disappointment: a mixture of vegetables and rice with almost no attention to detail and very subdued flavors. Vegetables were cut too thin, no oil or garlic. Honestly it tasted almost steamed and had a rank aftertaste. For 27 dollars, that was a big letdown. Probably single handedly knocks off a star. Mac potatoes were standard. The apple bread pudding is a sweet version of the bone marrow pudding, which was equally super. All in, I would recommend this place but you need to pay close attention to what you order.
Sorry I didn't discover this place at the beginning of our stay. Best meal to date, and that was breakfast. Go adventurous, it's worth it. Would highly recommend,!!!
Awesome food. I have an allergy and to be sure they offered to go get fresh ingedients. The staff was knowledgeable of all the meals and they had great live music.
Dinner was fabulous. The waitress was attentive and knowledgeable... But a little too chatty for our taste. But that's just us!
Came here for brunch with my wife and one of her friends. Food was very good. Portions were not huge but the quality was fantastic. The dish with the bone marrow pudding was superb. Servers were also very attentive and friendly. We did receive a "complimentary" appetizer that I was charged for and didn't realize until my card was run because I notoriously just hand my card over. Not a big deal it was like $6 but still kinda lame. We will come back.
Great service, friendly staff, awesome food choices, fair prices.
Our last night in Charleston we picked the Macintosh. I called from our hotel and asked about there dress code. They told me business professional. We walked in just to find people in shorts, t-shirts, and flip flops. I was overdressed. Our reservation was at 6:30pm. I could see it was lunch time to have a more casual dress code. The burger was awesome. The side salad was light and tasty. My fries were too salty. My wife had the scallops and they were over top mushrooms. They were amazing. The drinks were a bit watered down.
Incredible service, food and drinks.
Went for brunch, good food and super friendly service.
Sadly unmemorable.....oh yeah good scallops crappy service.....dropped wife off at curb....had reservation she was still waiting to be spoken to by the time I parked in the garage and walked back. Definitely never be back! Over priced!
If you have the opportunity try the grilled octopus, you won't regret it!
Hands down my favorite restaurant in Charleston right now. Same caliber as the famous FIG. Flavors, textures, and colors abound in almost every dish. Farm to table approach is a plus. Ingredients and flavor combinations are always pretty mind-boggling but somehow work well. Some sort of purée usually makes it onto every dish, which is nice. Seasonal menu changes every day. Some favorites like the deckle and pork shoulder are almost always on there, but are constantly being served with different things depending on the week. Ambience is fantastic. Service has been top-notch every time I've gone, and is the best of any restaurant I've ever been to. I really can't think of any negatives. Be sure to get the sweetbreads, scallops, pork shoulder, and bone marrow bread pudding. Desserts are always interesting. Cocktails are amazing.
Super friendly bartenders, excellent meal.
Really nice atmosphere and delicious food. Patrick, our waiter, did a great job with recommendations on the deckle. Also, the treatment by the manager was very sweet. I would recommend this place. If I lived here, this is where if bring visitors. As a tourist, if come back next time
Our experience was top notch. The manager went out of her way to help make the evening special. Our server, Patrick, did an excellent job as well. The food was fantastic. Highly recommend.
Food and service was amazing!! Our waiter (Patrick) was on point and made excellent suggestions that didn't disappoint. Katie aka "Speedy G" is awesome as well :) My wife and I will be back soon! You must try this place the atmosphere can be loud but it's nice inside.
They had good drinks here, and it was a welcome respite from the late night oonce-oonce fraternity-sorority party crowd that seeps into this area after 10pm.
If I lived anywhere near this restaurant, I'd find a way to get in here weekly for the bone marrow bread pudding. That has to be one of the best dishes I've ever had. I guess it's a good thing I'm not local, however, because I'd definitely be over-weight and at risk of a heart attack. I ordered the burger and it was cooked perfectly. The toppings were fresh and flavorful - it was exactly what I was looking for. My wife ordered the striped bass and it looked delicious - skin was crispy and the fish was cooked perfectly. I'd definitely recommend trying this place.
Good food
Great cocktails
Very accommodating to my food Allergy. Server Mary Catherine was great and super knowledgeable about food prep for allergies.
Top notch service, well designed and executed dishes, and great atmosphere. The deckle is a must and worth the price!
Wonderful creative menu with nicely sized portions. Terrific spot to gather with coworkers or go on a date.
Best meal I have had in a restaurant in years! The menu is fresh and innovative and the food is amazing. The vegetarian option was the best I have ever had as well as the truffle fries. The gnocchi appetizer was spectacular. Great service and ambiance as well. Highly recommend!
Gerat menu, service is on point.
We recently had a Mother's Day meal at Macintosh, and our experience was top-notch in every way. The staff was engaging, accommodating, and creative with various food allergies some of our party have. Each main course, side and dessert was fantastic. Not just good, amazing. Their menu is sophisticated and daring. Will return soon!
Fantastic food, Chef Bacon. We appreciate the attention and incredible service from you and your well trained, enthusiastic staff. You know how to make your guests feel special and we are thankful for the wonderful experience.... Now we understand why everyone raves about the bone marrow bread pudding. Everything was excellent!
My favorite stop in Charleston. As a vegetarian with food allergies, heading out for a group meal can be stressful. The waitstaff was amazing and the chef prepared one of the best vegetarian meals I've ever had. Others in our party raved about the pork as well
Drinks were great and the food was adequate. Nice smokey old time vibe
Just lovely! The space, the poutine, the service, the patrons, many of whom engaged us in wonderful conversation, and the happy hour prices. I highly recommend a stop in for a drink or two, or stay longer and enjoy dinner.
One of my favorites. Food is amazing and great service.
So good!!! I will come back for the bone marrow bread pudding alone! Everything was delicious and top knotch service!
What an amazing restaurant! Very unique menu. Everything we tried was AMAZING! Would highly recommend. The burger and fries are to die for.
The Macintosh Restaurant has great food; very delicious appetizers, entrees and desserts. We shared the strawberry salad, then had the grouper and also the duck entree; both were excellent. And the ice cream sandwich delicious with our espressos. We loved our waiter; he was knowledgeable and fun to talk to. We will be back!
Incredible food and amazing service. Felt like we had multiple waiters with how quick the service was throughout the night. Everyone was very knowledgable about all of the dishes and made great recommendations about the food. The food was impeccable, from the appetizers to the main course and the dessert, couldn't have asked for much better.
This place was a recommendation I just found online and luckily was able to get a reservation. I took my wife there and from entering to paying the bill the level of service we received was "top notch". The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgable on what seemed to be everything. The menu was a little small but had a good variety to choose from. I would definitely return and recommend to all to try.
A unique and very well selected menu, as usual with great places, very few dishes well elaborated. As starter the scallops are from another world, entrees my favorite was the beef; however the fish of the day is also great. We had a good wine (pinot noir) from Oregon, and their version of the Manhattan is also unique, definetely a recomended place in Charleston.
Food is great. But, the manager brought us a bunch of 'complimentary' appetizers/sides and then charged us for all them. It was partially my fault for not checking the receipt before paying... but still, who does that?
While our entrees were very good, I had the wahoo fish and my husband had the vegetable plate, the standouts were the two starters. We received a complimentary basket of truffle frites which was so delicious we devoured the entire basket. But the real surprise hit was the bone marrow starter. This was my first bone marrow and it was served with some greens (sprouts?) on a piece of toast that was drenched in olive oil. The bone marrow was smoky and delicious.
Went there twice for dinner during 5 day stay in Charleston. Service excellent. Food excellent. Excellent wine list.
Absolutely delicious food. Try the bone marrow bread pudding! Zach was amazing, with perfect wine pairings and Julie, the GM, was so sweet and welcoming. I can’t wait to go back!
Bacon hour is the best.
amazing private dining experience for a recent bachelorette party of 13. Their event planner was super helpful and every single waiter, hostess, staff member did a phenomenal job. The most polite and tentative I've ever experienced in Charleston. Then there's the FOOD! Ohhhh, the food. The Mac Potatoes + Mac Crunch desert are not to be missed and we can't say enough good things about everything we enjoyed. Do not miss The Macintosh next time you're in Charleston and if you're in a pinch for a large reservation, this is a great place to line that up. Would recommend over and over again!!!!!
The MacIntosh was a WONDERFUL. The service was out of this world and the food was excellent. Ryan was our server and he made our anniversary really special. Highly recommend!
We had a nice experience! But the menu was difficult to understand! Mike took his time and explained everything to us!
My party of 4 had the pleasure of sitting at the Chefs table and we were NOT disappointed. I had THE MAC - burger! Wow! The food is to die for but, Cody, the runner, the entertainment, the man, stole the show. Super impressed with his personality and knowledge. Our server - was so sweet and incredibly knowledgeable. Any question we she had the answer. Great staff, Great Food and amazing atmosphere! Great job y’all!
Not disappointed.
Excellent happy hour, skillfully crafted cocktails, fantastic service. The fish bologna sliders! This place is incredible.
Creative and fun menu that is perfectly executed!! Fun and laid back atmosphere with knowledgeable servers and bartenders. And OMG the bread pudding!!!
Wonderful night at Macintosh from start to finish! Waiter was knowledgeable about wine and food. The appetizers and entrees were all superb! We were treated like royalty!
Friendly staff with great service. Food was amazing
Awesome as always! Tessa our waitress was phenomenal! Couldnt be happier and heavier!
I enjoyed a couple great craft drinks at the bar before dinner complimented by a pork slider. Delicious. Dinner was exceptional. Desserts were good but didn't put an exclamation point on the meal. Next time I'd skip desert. I would absolutely visit again!
Fantastic food and great service. Atmosphere is lively.
